The first time Percy saw Chiron cry was when he heard the news about Annabeth, he makes sure she has the best shroud, she was like a daughter to him

Thalia goes on a hunt into the Underworld demanding Annabeth to be brought back

Hades looks at her and feels the pain she's going though, he looks at his niece dressed in punk clothes and mascara and eyeliner flooding her face

Grovers heartbroken, even though he was able to save Thalia he knew it was top good to be true, he would.always be the satyr who lost a demigod on the way back, he just didn't expect it to be the 7 year old girl who depended on him

The Athena cabin are now told how their oldest sister went head first into where Arachne lived, and brought her into Tarterus along with her self and her brave sacrifice

When Athena found out she let out a silent tear, she truly did love her daughter however even though she was the goddess of wisdom, she still had no idea of how to show it

She then summoned back the invisibility cap and Annabeths leather necklace

She now keeps the hat on her throne at olympus and a reminder of her favourite daughters bravery

The necklace was mailed to Annabeths father who now wears it every single day

Her mortal family are obviously devastated, even more at the fact that they never had a chance to say goodbye or burry her body as it was lost in tarterus

The camp seems to be darker without Annabeth around

Annabeth then goes on to Elysium, where she's greeted by Charlie, Silena, Luke (who she gives the cold shoulder to), Ethan, Bianca and everyone else

Me because the Percy Jackson series is actually about the different cycles of abuse, which include abuse within romantic partners (Sally and Gabe), abuse between “family” (Percy and Gabe, Meg and Nero), abuse from people in positions of power (the gods over the demigods), and so on, oppression than ranges from having adhd in the public educational system to being forced to perform quests for your entire life for people who could not care less about your well-being, how camp is both somewhere safe but also the bittersweet taste of arriving there and realizing you can never escape, you can never be normal your life will never be the same. There’s no turning back. How Luke was right on theory but not on acts, how these kids got around the idea to never make it to 18, and how there was nothing they could do about that. How many of them sat in their cabins, counting down the days until their sibling/friend/partner came back, only for them to not come back at all. Was it ever their turn to leave someone waiting behind? Annabeth, Percy, Grover, Thalia, the whole deal with Nico, Bianca, Silena, and every single demigod. Children of Apollo were the camp healers, was it a choice? A moral obligation? In camp Jupiter there’s Jason, there’s Reyna, Piper’s story, Leo’s story, the way Jason and Piper’s relationship was heteronormativity pushed by Hero because both of them were queer but she wanted a perfect couple. After being gone missing, people searched for Percy, but Jason? The devastation of Leo and Jason’s relationship, how Leo never knew his feelings for him were required, how both Leo and Piper thought they knew Jason but it was all fake memories, how Jason never fully got his memories back. Hazel’s story, Frank’s story, how Nico and Leo’s mutual dislike for each other comes from a place of understatement. How they both see themselves in each other and look away as one looks away from a mirror when they dislike their reflection. They are both so similar, almost the same. They both are also autistic, except Leo is always masking, and Nico never really learnt how to. Neurodivergence, adhd and dyslexia. Being a demigod is a metaphor for neurodiversity. Was Dionysus actual punishment looking over camp? Or was it spending years and years seeing demigods come and grow and die? Knowing there was nothing he could do about it? Knowing than if he was with the gods, he would be causing their deaths, instead of grieving them? Does Chiron feel hopeless? Memory, names, ghosts. Blades, swords, arrows, blood. So many blood, blood-stained hands. Monsters follow you before coming to camp, did they hurt you family? It was all your fault. They don’t want you to come back, you bring danger, you’re more dangerous than the monster, you are a monster yourself, after all the Minotaur was a demigod too. Leo killed his mother, Zeus killed Maria, Sally got taken to the underworld, Tristan was held hostage, Fredrick and his wife and sons got attacked by monsters, and who’s fault it was? You run away you keep on running but you’ll never outrun the danger because the danger is yourself, you are at fault, how do you run away now?

The odyssey, the iliad, the statues in museums, you look at them, do you see yourself? Do you see any resemble? Your nose kinda looks like theirs, the shape of their lips, the width of their hands, but that’s a lie you’re nothing like them, never will be, is that a tragedy? Do you want to be like them? Do you want to be a hero and die a heroic death? Or do you simply wish to visit your family on Christmas and live the life your little cousins will eventually live? Maybe you’ll never see the life they’ll live, maybe you’ll die before seeing it. There’s nothing to be done about that, you just have to accept it. Don’t you feel the rage, bubbling inside of you, making your hands shake? What can you do with it? Not much, remember last time, remember Luke, what did he accomplish? Nothing, blood, screams. You remember the war, you remember the city, maybe it was the first or the second time you set a foot on it, now every single time you do (if you do) in the future, it will be tainted. Look in that corner, that used to be destroyed. Look at that building, my friend died against that wall, that road was filled with blood. Was it ours? Theirs? Is there even a difference between us? Should there be? Why were you on your side? Why were they in theirs? Who was right? Who was wrong? You can go anywhere but home, maybe you’re not welcomed, maybe there’s no home to return, maybe it’s better for everyone if you don’t return. Nico keeps Bianca’s jacket, Leo taps iloveyou on Morse code. Piper was forced to be someone she wasn’t, she thought she was someone she was not, she was forced to think that. Who is she? Is she even who she thought she was? Jason still don’t remembers everything, and him? Who is he? Nico will never get his memories back, he wonders about his mom, did he have more family back then? Grandparents, aunts? Hazel is a walking curse. Silena and Clarisse as Patroklos and Achilles. Apollo seeing the brutal reality of demigods’ life on trials of apollo.

Your hand shakes, the sword you hold moves, you feel it’s weight, do you want to hold it? Do you have to?

The dead come back to haunt us, Nico sees Bianca everywhere, Leo still remembers his mother’s voice, Hazel came back from the dead, Frank holds his life on his pocket, Thalia lost a brother twice, Leo didn’t really die, Jason died instead, Percy wished to drown himself, half of camp still waits for their brother to come back, even if it has been months, even if it has been years. Luke’s mother still waits, was she crazy? The campers who thought to recognize their friend’s face for a second before remembering than it couldn’t possibly be them, were they crazy too? Who was crazier? Luke’s mother who did not remember, or the campers who did? The underworld has no mercy only justice, but the world has no justice only mercy. You might get mercy, but you never will get justice. Was it fair anything than happened to them? You might be spared in a war or in a battle out of mercy, out of pity, out of recognition, but that didn’t stop you from having to fight in it, that didn’t stop you from having to wield the sword. Spare all the people you want, turn a blind eye to whatever you want, mercy? sure, but you were still holding the sword, you were still supposed to fight, you still weren’t in charge of your life. How was that justice? How was that fair? Names had power, even their names had more power than your life, even the letters making up their names were more powerful than your fists, could you ever win? Could you ever win when their names were so powerful they could not be pronounced but your life was so worthless they didn’t even care to learn yours? To learn the names of the ones than died because of them. You can’t say the name of you sister’s killer, but you’re still expected to burn an offering to them each night at dinner.

Okay, we all know being a demigod is a shit position. Its scary and gets you killed in really nasty ways. But I feel like being a Big Three Kid has to be the shitiest position in all the shit positions.

Like, imagine being Thalia Grace. Your dad is king of the gods, lord of the skies. Led a war to get rid of a tyrant. And the only thing you get is his scorned wife AND brother, who both try to kill you (with one technically succeeding), a drunk of a mother, and brother who you thought was dead. Oh, wait, he’s not dead! No instead he was used as an offering to appease your dad’s wife and help fight in a war and prevent mass destruction.

Or maybe you can imagine being Percy. Son of the sea god, the stormbringer, the earthshaker. You get to live with a disgusting, abusive man for around 6 years. Who smells like literal shit. All because your scent as a demigod is too strong, BECAUSE of who your father is. You see things that you aren’t supposed to see and do things that people can’t do and go years thinking something is wrong with you. That your the problem. Then you get to the one place where you’re supposed to be save. But! Here is the kicker! You’re not! Your uncles hate you and you’ve been accused of stealing a symbol of power. A series of events that will kick off a war, and guess what. You’re a center point for it. Welcome to Camp Half-Blood.

Mhm, but then there’s Hazel. Daughter Pluto, god of the underworld and riches. But that doesn’t really change anything does it? She’s still living in 1930s America, in a red state. One where confederate flags still hang if you go deep enough into the city. She go to a school where the kids are supposed to be just like her! They still don’t like her tho. She’s got no idea who your father is, only that he left her with a parting gift. Only it’s not really a gift. Sure, she can pull rubies and diamonds from the earth, all worth millions. But anyone who’s ever gonna touch it will die. She lives with her mother, a woman gone so mad with greed it kills her. And Hazel, by the way. Laying dead Alaska, inhaling oil. But it doesn’t end there! She can’t have her mother suffering for eternity, can she? The answer is no. Hazel gets to spend the next 70 years in the Fields of Asphodel. It still doesn’t end! Because when she’s brought back to life, she gets to fight in a war against giants, her sad story seemingly never ending.

Nico’s a son of one of the Big Three, one of the most ancient and most powerful. But most people look at him as something bad, something not worth taking a second glance at. Something too look away from, mostly. He’s from the 30s, spent years in a magical time casino with only his sister at his side. She doesn’t stay for long though, she dies soon after they discover their heritage. And he doesn’t remember his mother much, a name without a face. A face without a name. He survived an attempted assassination at 2, though it wouldn’t be the only time his was life was threatened. He clings to his sister, even though she’s dead. He’s the son of the god of the underworld, is he not? There had to be a way, and there is. Only she won’t talk to him, she seems more concerned with communicating with the guy who got her killed instead. She chooses rebirth, and he decides to lay it to rest. She’s not coming back, and he has a war to fight in. (He gets stuck in a jar and forcibly outed a few years later, but that’s a lot to get into for now.)

Jason Grace is a pillar of New Rome, their golden boy, their American boy. He’s a son of Jupiter, a natural born leader. He’s been at camp for as long as he can remember, he wants to be praetor soon. He’s had a rocky start, but maybe he’ll be one of the lucky ones. Retire a veteran and live a long life with Reyna in New Rome. Only that never happened. He has no idea where he is, there’s a girl holding his hand, and she’s cute but it feels wrong. They get attacked and people come in and call him a Greek demigod, familiar, yes, but still wrong. It doesn’t feel right. It doesn’t put things into perspective the way it does for Piper and Leo. He’s goes to a quest to rescue Hera, the name sounds wrong. He nearly dies but at least he remembers who he is. He spends the next 6 months trying to get back home, even though he isn’t too sure on where or what home is. He gets there, eventually, but it doesn’t stop there. He’s dragged on quests and battles and fights in the war but at least he survives it, he’s still there. Apollo needs help, he and Piper give him aid. He gets dumped. He doesn’t get to he a veteran in New Rome. Not with Reyna, not with Piper, not with anybody. He doesn’t get kids or grandkids. No, he gets shot down, another demigod buried.

You could be any one of them, really. Pick your poison, but I guarantee you won’t like any of them. Spending years trying to find a place where you belong, where you feel safe. Only for it to never come.

Percy, who, if you really look at the books, isn’t really all that well liked until he’s at least 2 years into camp. Only to then be sidelined because the courages, brave, fearless daughter of Zeus is back from the dead. Nico, the son of one of the most feared and hated gods. Who has death written all over him, who excludes it so much animals can smell it and humans can sense it, who’s been ostracized and pushed off to the side since he was 10. Hazel, who was treated like disease as soon as she stepped foot on camp soil. Who’s gone her whole life looked as something that’s cursed, that will only bring misfortune, a bad omen.

imo percy Thalia and Nico aren’t best friends because Thalia and Nico don’t go along with each other

I mean- Nico still holds grudges bc of the “Bianca died after joining the hunters/ abandoning me” thing

And Thalia didn’t like how Bianca just straight up left Nico when she would give everything to be with her brother like that

Percy’s kinda awkward with Nico because he probs still blames himself over the Bianca incident but besides he’s pretty much friends with Thalia. If they over came the awkwardness percy and Nico would’ve been rlly good friends and it could escalate to something more (iykwim).

So percy can only hang out with one at a time without Nico’s grudge (aka his fatal flaw) kicking in and the nice skating with friends things turning into an almost fight and percy having to break them apart

Boys n' Grills was something of a hangout for the cultists before Bob got arrested in the first episode, some of them were personally pissed at him for getting caught and getting it closed down.

While we're at it, the person who was going to run the diner when it reopened is also a cultist, but Bob breaking in during Tender Treats got the reopening canceled too.

The Hauntiest House isn't actually local to Frighden, they travel from town to town renting recently vacated houses, Streber often tries to use the house layout to add to the experience their preparing that given year.

I mentioned this in an earlier volume but have expanded it a bit, thin thief's name is Burton and fat thief's name is Keith.

Mayor Evermore often doesn't notice when he's hungry, when he does it's usually after his secretary mentions that he hasn't eaten in a while. This isn't a cult thing either, he's just a freak (that I may be projecting onto).

Ross was an unplanned baby, but because of their easy going nature his parents weren't nervous. On the other hand Lila freaked out when Jaune told her.

When Rick coughs he sounds like a bulldozer exploding and it tends to scare the shit out of people if he coughs in public.

When Pump is a little older him and Susie start doing ProZD style skits for her socials in addition to her art.

Richard was really close with his brother and has become a good bit colder and more closed off after his death, this is one of the reasons Roy hasn't told his parents about what his uncle did, at least not yet.

yall dont wanna see the rant i just went on trying to math out if Clarisse and Silena = Achilles and Patroclus, then does the Battle for Manhattan in TLO = the Trojan War, and in which case who’s who. is the Titan Army the Trojans? or is Olympus the Trojans because they’re defending Olympus (i.e. Trojans defending Troy)? If Percy is also Achilles, kinda, cause curse of Achilles, what’s everybody’s roles then? What do we do with two Achilles? is Ethan Nakamura Hector? Does Luke = Paris? (in which case Hermes = Priam? which actually works really well cause Hermes did aid Priam in the Trojan war). or is Luke... Helen? Or is Luke just straight up the Trojan Horse?

Also side-tangent, if Clarisse and Silena are Achilles and Patroclus, we can make some guesses for who Chris Rodriguez vaguely is analogous to, but not really Charles Beckendorf? at least purely in terms of love interests. Which is interesting. Again: who’s who. I simply must know.

Percy would join the swim team but Annabeth would always wear his swim team hoodie

Jason would play basketball and get the best dunks

Hazel wouldn’t play any sports but she would be on the equestrian team

Leo would try out for everything and get into nothing and then join the mechanics club and be super super good at it obviously

Piper would want to play volleyball but would be hesitant because she would be worried she’d consider using her charmspeak to cheat but Annabeth convinced her to try out and she got in

Frank wouldn’t play sports he’d think about it as to easy because of the more challenging games they played in the legion

Annabeth would always talk about how the sports were stupid and always said she didn’t have time for them get she would always find time for Piper and Percy’s competitions

Thalia would be on the archery team and obviously be the best. Reyna wouldn’t want to play any sports but Thalia kept convincing her to come to her archery practices until Reyna joined the team. Reyna would be really bad at it but she would have fun because Thalia was there.

Cabin 12 - Dionysus - Headcanons

There's a huge interest of psychology and the human and demi-god mind in this cabin

Extremely talented kids can cure insanity

Its kind of like how the Apollo cabin has the infirmary, this cabin has their own psychiatrist building where demi-gods can get a therapy session if they feel the need to

Most demi-gods do find it helpful to talk to someone who understands everything they're going through and can potentially help them for the better

Although the kids in this cabin are also prone to depression, anger and being bipolar they do try to help each other

Those interested in psychology were given a Sigmund Freud action figure as a gag gift by their father (see below for reference photo)

Genderfluidity is common in this cabin

They often team up with the Demeter cabin in games (and for when they want to make wine for a party)

They throw the best parties like it'd be an honour to be invited to one

When Mr D was in charge of camp half-blood, they did actually throw a party without his knowledge and when he found out he wasn't invited he got very offended

The whole cabin was grounded

Daughters of Dionysus are REALLY rare so when a daughter is born, she is extremely powerful and often has a similar scent to children of the big three

That was actually canon in the myths

They often team up with the Apollo cabins to make their own productions of different shows since the Dionysus kids are so emotional they're excellent actors

Even when sober children of Dionysus can NEVER pass a breath test making it very infuriating when police officers pull them over

the natural scent of wine just stays with them

Its very rare to find a lightweight Dionysus kid, but when you do, they tend to be the life of the party

They're not claimed in the traditional way with their fathers symbol floating above them, no Dionysus walks over to them grabs them by the shoulder and shouts "MINE!"

feral about about how rick,   since he was seven years old,   had so much grief and no way to cope.   his parents died (were murdered actually) and he couldn’t understand why and it wasn’t like he could openly grieve them either,   because not only did they leave his uncle matt as his legal guardian,   but as his legal dad.   to the world,   he wasn’t rick tyler,   he was rick harris.   and he had to pretend that his abuser,   the man who he grew to hate,   was his father.   this seven year old boy had such a hard job and no answers,   no understanding.   he had to pretend he didn’t just lose his parents because he had to be safe for reasons he didn’t know and wouldn’t know until he was like sixteen.   not only that,   but matt was so physically and emotionally abusive,   that rick had to take his grief and anger and make it a shield and a mask.   but it grew so out of control,   that he felt like it was all there was to him and like it was poisoning him.   it made him feel so far from the parents he knew,   so unworthy of being their son,   and so guilty for feeling all that he did and hating matt the way he did.   don’t even get me started on his guilt towards how he feels about matt,   because he can’t live with hating the only connection he has to his mom.   all his life,   richard was made to feel unworthy of love and care because everyone only saw him as his 'father'/uncle and never gave him a chance,   they just judged him and cast him out.   this boy with a plethora of feelings and a heart so gentle and of gold,   had to use all the anger he had to protect himself,   but it ended up being the only thing he felt sometimes and that was tearing him apart and destroying him.   i get so feral about this being rick’s life until he was nearly a legal adult.   and the fact that even after he had friends and he had the jsa,   in many ways,   he was still alone and continued to be alone.   honestly,   i think rick was the only one who wholeheartedly accepted that the world wasn’t just black and white,   and that embraced things that heroes 'weren’t supposed to feel'.   and in the end,   this contributed to him feeling like he wasn’t worthy of being hourman and carrying his father’s legacy,   and being isolated even within the jsa (how the girls and everyone else acted didn’t help one bit).   anyway,   richard tyler deserves the whole world.   rick,   who continues trying and who wants to be the person he needed when he was younger.   rick,   who wants to be there to protect and take care of others,   who’s still healing and learning,   and who cares,   feels,   and loves so intensely and selflessly.
