ย ย ย ย ๐๐ฏ๐๐ง ๐๐ฌ ๐ก๐ข๐ฌ ๐๐๐๐ค ๐ฐ๐๐ฌ ๐ฉ๐ซ๐๐ฌ๐ฌ๐๐ ๐๐ ๐๐ข๐ง๐ฌ๐ญ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐ซ๐ข๐๐ค ๐ฐ๐๐ฅ๐ฅ ๐จ๐ ๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ข๐ฅ๐๐ข๐ง๐ , it was rather easy for Abraham to imagine the lips on his jaw and lips were that of A.nna S.trongโs. It was hard to keep the tavern cellar in mind when he knew the walls werenโt made of brick, but it was easy to imagine a different scenario instead. They were in York City once as he was now; with her brunette curls and the pink dress that was a heavenly sight to Abe that only reminded him of why he was so enamored with his childhood best friend in the first place. The soft lips on his that wandered close to his neck could be easily replaced in his mind with Annaโs and with his closed eyes, it was as if his daydream was a reality.
ย ย ย ย When he gripped the womanโs sides, feeling the fabric of her clothes, and when her hand clamped over his mouth, he was pulled out of his reverie and unwillingly pushed into reality. His eyelids opened and when he was met with the face of Molly Strong, he was again reminded of their mission and the anger that rose in him earlier.ย
ย ย ย ย In order to conceal an alibi, they were to be posed as husband and wife to get past the checkpoints. It was a simple lie that meant nothing but when a redcoat was following them too close for comfort, the false relationship was quickly set into motion and they hoped to set his interest elsewhere with their kiss in an alleyway. It only went on from there, Abe being too eager for a passionate touch and his voice gaining volume, which is exactly why he assumed Molly attempted to silence him.
ย ย ย ย Her palm was removed from his mouth and Abeโs heartbeat started to settle to its regular pace, but the heat felt within his body didnโt diminish any. His face was flush.
ย ย ย ย โ What was that for? โ his voice was harsher than he wanted it to be, almost offended that there was an abrupt end to his daydream. โ You want to keep up our ruse, donโt you? โ He wasnโt going to admit that his moans were genuine, no. Molly Strong wasnโt going to get that satisfaction out of him.ย

His brows furrowed upon hearing the nonsense being spewed from his lips. It sounded like a statement that should be told to Thomas instead of him.
ย ย ย ย ย He shook his head, pressing his lips firmly into a thin line. โ You're as much of a nuisance as Rogers. โ

He can deflect, excuse, or deny it all he wants, but even Abe knows when the truth needs to be told. Especially for a man with a liar's tongue.
ย ย ย ย ย He exhales and his chest rises and falls as he wipes the dirt on his fingers. He rests his hands on his hips as he looks up at the stranger. โ Its a common rumor you're hear in Setauket; unfortunately as all rumors go, there's some truth to it, I'm afraid. โ He sucks in a breath and releases it to ease the tension from his chest, dissolving the pool of guilt in his stomach. โ But I swore to right my wrongs and remain loyal to my wife in the foreseeable future. โ Even as the situation between Anna and him was more complicated than he let on, he was certain Anna felt shame over it as well. The worst part of it? Abe still finds himself tethered to Anna, regardless of who he swore his heart to.

Send me a very scandalous rumor aboutย my muse to see how they would react. - accepting
ย ย ย ย ย โ I'll pass on having maggots in my bed. โ Even though its a stab to Abe's ego to admit that his harvests have been underwhelming, Abe thinks a rumor like this is utterly ridiculous. Frankly, he assumes that there are far worse rumors circling around Setauket's sewing circles than this. โ Won't be good for me or my crop. โ

anonymous asked : Hewlett or Simcoe
Send two names and my muse will say which theyโd rather kiss.ย -- accepting
ย ย ย ย โ Hewlett or Simcoe? โ The question of his own is followed with a confused and surprised tone. โ Those are my two options? โ The quill is steady in his hand and his grip finally loosens on it, lifting it up from spilling any more ink onto the paper before him and itโs tossed into the inkwell. Abe doesnโt need to think all that hard on this, itโs not like any of this will come to fruition, but what does matter to him is the reputation and opinion he leaves from his answer. Heโs hardly concerned with whatever is said in gossip circles when lips are loosened with alcohol, but he doesnโt want to be misheard either.
ย ย ย ย โ I would rather lick a rusty nail than kiss Simcoe, โ he declares, his voice full of confidence in his judgment, not wanting his words to be twisted or tied into anything else. The town already spoke enough (and Abe already heard more than his share) of the kiss exchanged between Simcoe and Anna, and he doesnโt wish to repeat that horrifying image nor experience it himself.ย
ย ย ย ย But that only leaves one option: Hewlett. Not one he would consider appealing by any means, but he believed that almost anyone was a better option to kiss than that murderer in green clothing.ย
ย ย ย ย He smiles softly in a humorous way and scratches at his hairline, pulling out a few thin strands from his queue from the motion. โ I suppose Iโd kiss Hewlett then. โ It was the lesser of two evils (well that being redcoats), but the image of either of these men being as disgusted (or even confused) as he was during his journey to his answer made Abe feel somewhat at ease over having to plague his conscience with the thought of kissing either man.ย

ย ย ย ย ย โ No- no. Not at all. โ His stomach twisted and turned with disgust as he thought about it. He shook his head, physically cringing. โ Who do you think I am? โ

Instead, he pulls a chair, stretches out his legs before him, and takes a sip from his tankard. He hums, deep in his throat, before he allows the cup to leave his lips.ย ย
ย ย ย ย ย โ Thatโs a shame, โ he prods even further with that cheery, optimistic voice. With his shaven face, it was common for Abe to be brushed to the side. Many of the older city connected youthfulness with a college kid, eager to get into trouble and annoy the older folk with their arrogance, but Abe wasnโt going to be satisfied with being given the cold shoulder. He had limited time in the city and as the hours were wearing thin to nighttime, he had come up short with intelligence. With how much effort it took in securing a pass into York City, he wasnโt going to leave with nothing. If they think he's a young guy with too big an ego on his shoulders, they may not waste their breath, but they might underestimate the intel that leaves their lips.
ย ย ย ย ย โ Iโve been known to be a bit of a social drinker. Shouldโve stuck to your room if you were looking for solitude. โ He wiped the bit of ale stuck to his lip with his sleeve before he leaned forward in his chair. โ How goes the war? Seasoned redcoats like yourself always have a story to tell. โ

anonymous asked : YES OR NO: do you hate your father?
Ask Abe questions and he's only allowed to answer with 'Yesโ or 'Noโ. -- accepting
ย ย ย ย ย โ No. โ This question was easier to answer than one may suspect. He may have mouthed off a few times in his rage that he hated his father with all of his being. But when it truly came down to it, he would step in the way of a bullet to save his father. He would uphold any responsible Richard may bestow on him. Their relationship had been.... rocky, to say the least, but there were moments--even if they were few--where he got along with his father. He enjoyed his time in York City, working alongside him in his business dealings.

richardxoliverxmayhewย asked : If espionage wasnโt in the cards for you, do you think you wouldโve followed in your fathers footsteps and became a lawyer, or judge, or some sort of man of the law?
Ask Abe questions and he's only allowed to answer with 'Yesโ or 'Noโ. // @richardxoliverxmayhew -- accepting
ย ย ย ย ย ๐๐๐ญ๐ฐ๐๐๐ง ๐ก๐ข๐ฌ ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ฉ๐ฌ ๐๐ง๐ ๐ก๐๐ซ๐ฏ๐๐ฌ๐ญ ๐ญ๐ข๐ฆ๐ ๐๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ซ๐จ๐๐๐ก๐ข๐ง๐ , Abe's winter dwelling mostly focused on his spying. Well, almost everything in his life surrounded spying. For example, his root cellar, which was full of field tools, was quickly upturned into a hideout for his spying operations. But in those quiet winter months when the war seemed to abate, if spying was not in the cards, the apprenticeship act he pulled to get into York CIty was looked at with a desperate glimmer in his eyes when his coin bag was low. So however the war ended, a plunge into completing his law degree did seem a bit promising. He had all of the knowledge needed, he just needed the supervision for it. If spying hadn't taken up so much of his time, a career in law didn't seem unsuitable for him.
ย ย ย ย ย โ Yes. โ It was a noble profession, a profitable one if he played his cards right and with growing up with a Magistrate as a father, he was sure he could make a solid living form it. Ensuring his son's future freedom was always seen as more important than anything else.
