she spends a lot of time on the deck of the ship when sunlight's available. she likes sleeping on the railing next to the stairs that lead down to the crew cabin--the rest of the crew pets her as they walk by. she also likes sleeping in the window of euphemia's cabin or in the cockpit windows if the ship is in transit.

One thing bout our house is that cats love to enter it but the moment they see a person, they'd immediately run back out. Like the other day there was this cat (I think her name was Lena? A neighbour's cat! With a cute lil pink collar), and she was very slowly walking inside and when I noticed her, she quickly turned around and left. (Didn't even get to pet her too boo... she saw me looking and just went nope).

And then today, when I woke up and was prepping stuff for my bath, just as I walk by the front door, a cat was also walking inside and we looked at each other and it also immediately left (I dunno whose cat this one is but it has a collar too! And I think it's a boy, with a cute lil black collar). I decided to follow it out the door thinking that maybe it's still nearby for me to pet! But nope! It was already halfway across the path! I called over to it in a low voice like: "Cat!" and it just made a loud and loooong meow. Like okay, sorry for interrupting your intrusion. It laid on the floor and I kept calling over to it "cat!" and it kept meowing back at me in increasingly exasperated tones. It's so adorable!

Inktober Day 4, Inner Thoughts

I’m going to start and try titling these pieces, just cause how can I not??

Very late, however, time doesn’t exist if I don’t look at it. This was inspired by the thoughts that go in my head, while also being inspired by pretending. We all pretend so I’m sure you know what I mean, normally I pretend around my family and sometimes through texts, you just don’t really notice it because it’s hard to read tones in text.

For no particular reason I decided to make it more colorful than the others I did, which was a pain I had to restart shading thrice. Which was painful af. But it turned out pretty so here ya go- my inner thoughts- at least like- the few I could focus on.

I’m tired but heheee haaaanndssss awaaaaa very therapeutic to draw in a way. The hands don’t really represent anything, maybe they do. I just had the strong urge to add them, so many deep in my subconscious they mean something OuO

Of course she pauses when they finally get the courage to speak, her entire process halting with her key dangling from the lock. Ah...They doted on her so much. She knew by now that it was their nature to just be concerned over their friend - no matter how close that friendship was - and it truly was a comfort at her low points to have such a caring neighbor. But her heart aches at the offer too. Her thoughts still flooded with self-deprecation, seeing Akira and knowing that, while they cared so much, this was also just business too. It's not their fault, though, even if her annoyance and worry presents itself with quick words and furrowed brows. Oh, she should just tell her mom to help her move apartments, but that wouldn't solve anything. Her mother and Bishop would both reject the idea when she felt so safe in this little complex. And, despite the cloud hanging over her, she'd hate to leave her only other friend...

"...I'm sorry." She says it in a dry laugh, finally giving Akira the time of day and looking them in the eye. This situation always sucks though, forcing a small smile, while not sure what exactly to say to ease the situation. God, she really was so boring and terrible...

"I'll, um...Let me, first -" She doesn't finish before grabbing her keys from her door, putting them back in her purse before taking a step towards Akira. A bit shaky, a bit stiff, yet trying to laugh off nerves with tired, smiling eyes. "...I'd love to try a cup. I feel like my tea selection has gotten a bit same-old, same-old anyways, you know? I should try new things once in awhile..."

jesus fucking christ the past two months have been insane. if the Things Happening would slow down just slightly that might be cool

#since this year started I have #been sick four times (usually get a cold like once a year maybe) #been in a play #gotten two job interviews and two rejections #gotten another job interview but tested positive for covid the morning of and had to reschedule at the last second #(I'm fine. literally just thought it was a scratchy throat until the test came up positive) #taken a longsword lesson #restarted a pathfinder campaign #and found out my cat is dying #that's not even everything that's just what comes to mind right now #(also about the cat. miss has cancer and right now is at home with pain meds for as long as she still wants to do cat things) #(sad and difficult on my end but she has no idea anything's wrong and hopefully she never will) #oh also I've started shadowing at a vet clinic to decide if I want to pursue vet school #also my mom went to the hospital! she's fine but that was scary #also a family friend died and his funeral turned into preaching about the end times #like what is going ON #for the record. First shows were this weekend- I'll make an actual wrap up about it later, after I've gotten a picture of Hiyori with all her ribbons and rosettes, which I was too bushed to take yesterday. The short version: we had one judge who didn't respect that she was an inexperienced show dog and in heat, and Hiyori gave her a big back the fuck up growl, which she excused us for. The excuse was justified but so was my dog's growl (a lot of dogs did not appreciate her) so I'm not really wounded. Exams are something we need to work on anyway- I knew this- and a new friend showed us a method that should be less clumsy so I'm just going to drill the shit out of it.

The other judges were kinder to her and she talked at them but less so and they kept her in. And two actually placed us! It was a three breed group but still so exciting!

More on Hiyori later- this post is to share the real bad thing that happened.
