i may have been watching the video game docu series on netflix called "HIGH SCORE" and omfg i love it, heres some fun things i learned that everyone should know:

-The alien octopus things in space invaders was inspired by war of the worlds which was popular in the creators, Tomohiro Nishikados, childhood

-Pac man was designed with the intention to attract women gamers and by god it worked, those 80s women couldnt get enough of the funky dude (also he was designed after a pizza with a slice taken out of it :D )

-The first space invaders esports winner, Rebecca Heinemen, is a transwoman, what is with trans people and video games and being so awesome

-Kirby was designed after John kirby, the lawyer who defended nintendo in a copyright case against Universal Studios cause of donkey kong and king kong

-game modding culture stems from four mit dropouts who got sued by atari but then ended up striking a deal with them and made mrs pac man (OH HONEY DONT YA KNOW, IM MORE THAN PAC MAN WITH A BOW)

-the Famicom by nintendo was redesigned for the us cause apparently the original design of burgundy and white was too childish and family fun type to sell, so their marketing lady, Gail Tilden (icon), got it redesigned to be more sleek and renamed it to the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES)

-sonic the hedgehogs designer, Naoto Ohshima, WENT AROUND CENTRAL PARK ASKING PEOPLE OUT OF THREE DESIGNS WHICH ONE THEY LIKED BEST

seiko shinohara, hinoe shinozaki, naomi nakashima, ryosuke katayama, and tomohiro ohkawa (all from corpse party of course !)

 seiko acts happy even when shes not. while in the school, she experiences many emotional breakdowns but still stays upbeat and peppy. hinoe fits the odd/weird stereotype. she is shown to be happy and smiles at others even if they dont deserve it. naomi is happy and upbeat most of the time. she fits the “odd/weird character” stereotype in my opinion. she can be anxious/on edge at times. ryosuke enjoys anime and gaming a lot and fictional stuff is coping in a way. he often plays video games with his friends and is his way of escape. tomohiro enjoys playing video games. hes seen as anxious and meek. he could express himself more but he does gain confidence.

Just wanna say that along with Ryosuke, Kai and Tomohiro are now hopping around in the poem game!!! (Also Natsuki is chillin as a placeholder object for Kizami)

I'm using a mod to make the poem game more accessable (this mod), and when I couldn't get the chibis to hop/idle about, I contacted the mod author and she helped me out SO much. Turns out I just needed to define the commands to their chibis strictly!

Also, yes they are spaced oddly. That's because I know where I want to put the other three so I'm leaving room for them. :3

Viena: They weren't good, but I read the Hush Hush series before school started.

Kitty: I finished the Warrior Series last year! But she's writing more.

Star: I’m going to go with LivingStone by Maekawa Tomohiro and Kataoka Jinsei (the creator of Deadman Wonderland which is one of my favorite manga)

13. What new experiences did you have in 2016?

Kitty: College became a thing

Star: I was bitten by a black widow and had to go to the ER this summer and I got my first tattoo in April.

Viena: I started college? Haha c:

15. What are your hopes for 2017?

Viena: I wanna get more tattoos and get on the Dean's List again.

Kitty: Coming out to my parents about my gender and hopefully finding a s/o/

Star: To spread positivity and love! I also want to declare my major (it’s been on my to-do list since November) and go to a march this summer to protest the defunding of AmeriCorps.

16. If you could give your past self any advice for getting through 2016, what would you say?

Viena: Go to the counselor before your breakdown xD

Kitty: It's not your fault. You didn't do anything wrong.

Star: It’s okay, just breathe. You don’t have to be perfect all the time.

17. Did you make or break any friendships in this past year?

Kitty: Viena and I became friends! :D

Viena: I made friends with Kitty and stopped talking to a couple people on Facebook.

Star: Well, I thought that I became friends with Kitty but apparently they’re only friends with Viena… lol Anyway: I met some really cool people during the texting game in December so that was really cool! I also cut some toxic people out of my life and reunited with an old friend recently. :D

24. How many people did you kiss this past year?

Kitty: Depends on the type of kiss. Romantically, 1. Platoniclaly, 4!

Viena: Three!

Star: Just one. Unless you want to count family. But yeah, 4 years with the same guy. ^^;

26. Coolest thing that happened to you in 2016?

Viena: I...went to college. Haha. C:

Kitty: I went on my 6th cruise and we went to the Bahama's! I got to march down Main Street at Wild Kingdom at Disney World with my high school!

Star: I got two tattoos and adopted my snake son. (:

Kitty: I walked in on the class before mine because I didn't realize how early I was lmao

Viena: I almost broke my neck trying to do a somersault :c

Star: I was bitten by a black widow (fun fact: 95% of those bitten don’t die) so the ER doctors prescribed me some really strong drugs for the venom. I was high for an entire week and it was so embarrassing. I honestly would rather lose my arm than go through that nonsense again.

29. Nicest compliment you received in 2016?

Viena: "I don't know who you are but I REALLY like your boots, like damn."

Kitty: "I love your hair!" ha, take that mom.

Star: We get a lot of “I really like your blog” and “I love reading your posts” asks and that always makes me so happy! I screenshot and save a lot of the messages we get and they never fail to make me smile. I love you guys. (:

How’s this for irony? Russian authorities on Friday blocked web users in the country from accessing Tencent’s (700.HK) WeChat social network, claiming the Chinese internet giant had screwed up the paperwork.

Chinese state-owned news agency Xinhua quotes a spokesperson from Russia’s telco regulator as saying that Shenzhen-based Tencent “did not provide the contact information necessary for registration with authorities.” WeChat is China’s most popular social network, with a massive 800 million or so users regularly logging on. As most Barron’s Asia readers will probably know, Facebook (FB) – which has almost two billion users – has long been banned in world’s second biggest economy.

Speaking to Hong Kong’s South China Morning Post, a Tencent spokesperson said the company was trying to resolve the issue.

“Russian regulations say online service providers have to register with the government, but WeChat doesn’t have the same understanding [of the rules],” Tencent said in a statement.

… Tencent’s latest email response said that, “in accordance with internet regulations in Russia, organizers of information distribution on the internet are required to notify relevant authorities of their activities upon request”.

“As per these guidelines, we are in discussions with relevant authorities regarding the situation,” the company said.

The paper goes on to point out that the Russian law Tencent is allegedly in breach of requires the company to store data on Russian citizens within Russian borders. Given WeChat’s audience is by-and-large Chinese-speaking, it’s not clear how many people are affected by the ban.

Russian intrigue aside, Tencent’s shares have been killing it in 2017, up 30% year-to-date.

Online car financing business Bitauto Holdings (BITA) raised USD1 billion in funding from Chinese internet giants Tencent (700.HK), JD.com (JD) and Baidu (BIDU).

Bitauto chief executive William Li revealed the financing round during an interview with Reuters. The story was thin-on-the-ground when it came to more details on the deal, though.

Here’s a (tiny) bit more color:

The investments in Bitauto unit Yixin Capital, the last round completed in August 2016, are aimed at growing its business in online automobile finance and related transactions, a spokesman said.

Bitauto’s stock accelerated almost 4% following the report. Shares in Bitauto have revved up 33% in the year-to-date on strong sales in China’s auto industry, but are still a huge way off their peak of more than USD90 at the end of 2014.

Out of the 10 brokers that cover the stock, eight rate it a buy and two a hold. The average price target is USD28.94, or about 15% upside.

UOBKayHian has cut its ratings on China’s big three airlines to hold and downgraded the aviation sector to market weight.

The broker sees an earnings squeeze ahead for China Eastern (670.HK), China Southern (1055.HK) and Air China (753.HK) from higher airport charges:

All the Big 3 carriers’ earnings were below our and consensus estimates, except for Air China, which met our forecast. Both Air China and CEA warned of higher airport charges of US$400m-500m in 2017. We believe this will impact Chinese airlines’ margins as neither airline suggested ways to defray the cost increase. We expect all three carriers’ core earnings to decline in 2017 as a result. We downgrade all three carriers to HOLD and downgrade the sector to MARKET WEIGHT.

Air China shares have risen 18% over the past year, while China Southern has gained 12%. China Eastern is up 4%.

Imagine that while they're on a date to the movie theatre, Fukuroi decides to take it a step further than what he usually does on their dates. A while into the movie, while Mitsuki's eyes are focused on the screen, he pretends to stretch his arm, before coolly putting it around her shoulders. She glances over at his hand when she notices the gesture, and to his delight, snuggles into his embrace and rests her head on his shoulder.

Of course, by now his ego has lifted, and once he figures enough time has passed, Masato gently nuzzles her face so she'll look up at him-giving him the opportunity to give her a peck on the lips. Mitsuki blushes and stares at him for a beat afterwards, before giggling and hiding her face in his jacket. He never figured such a tough cookie could melt under the simplest gesture. And, for the rest of the film, Masato proudly wears a smile on his face, until she decides to get him back with another kiss.
