SUSTAINED SILENCE

Depth:

I had to drop all chores and take the moment to meditate, knowing how shallow previous night’s meditation was. This morning meditation had depth. It wasn’t long but it had depth enough for me to experience Peace induced mental silence.

I guess that Peace induced mental quiet is the only type of mental silence that is sustainable. Silencing the mind by strain or force won’t be sustainable.

Peace is now taking me to those parts of my mind during meditation where I would otherwise sleep sans dreams. That’s mental silence one can’t buy. Not even from the most expensive and experienced psychiatrists in the world.

When the mind is so silent that it is not churning up the froth of dream imagery, then I know that my hearing is interiorised to such silence. In the here and now, I hear the stretching of my own spine. The stretches are from the inside out.

It is almost as if freed life energies begin moving towards the head where all meditations take place. The movement of such energy upwards, stretches the route it takes in the spine. I could hear the stretching ticks during the short meditation in the morning. That’s deep meditation. It can get deeper yet, I know.
