Are there humans in any of your fantasy stories, or is everyone just a mythological creature?

good question!! and the answer is that it depends on the story!!

i think thus far i only have 3 fantasy stories (well 3 1/2, but i'll get into that in a sec) and of those, only one of them is exclusively mythological creatures.

first, there's the stolen crown. i know it's been a while since i've worked on that story so it's easy to forget hahaha. but in this story, the main protagonist, robin, is fully, 100% human, who was cursed at birth with extreme hyperbelches. so that alone is proof that humans exist in this world. but besides her, there's also her mother, the entire royal, and just about every knight in the kingdom (with one very important exception...)

then, there's my first impressions series. this one's a little less obvious and much easier to forget, but i'm more than happy to remind everyone!! in this story, meira is half elf, half human (with her mother's side being the human side), so she's proof that humans exist in their world. again, i think i only mention it in the story like once or twice, so i totally get not realizing that.

then, there's crashing the party. this one the trickiest i think, since it's the shortest and pretty much takes place at one singular event. but this is the only fantasy story of mine thus far in which humans don't exist at all. the main character, abigail, is a dwarf, and everyone else are various mythological creatures.

now, there's one last story of mine that's a fantasy story in some sense, and that is my burp soulmates story (aka the universe chose you, so i will too). now, this story isn't really a fantasy story in the sense that they live in a fantasy world in which fantasy creatures and things like that exist. but it is a fantasy story in the sense that they live in a world of magic (aka soulmate marks) so that's why i'm only half counting it. and in this world, everyone is a human.

okay i was thinking about that post you made about what random house citizens are thinking and you know what would seem so suspicious? the state of the corpses (or lack thereof) that the houses receive back. the missing bodies, the cremated remains, the gruesome ones seemingly attacked by a monster, or perhaps even most suspicious, one body killed by a rapier to the thought. like im sure at least some of this info leaks to the general public and im sure to theories are intense.

Imagine being the poor Third House guy who has to break the news that Ianthe's ascended but Coronabeth, the Crown Princess and heir is in fact dead but no you're not actually going to get any remains oh why? there was nothing to salvage :) so sorry for the inconvenience. you just KNOW they had a week of mourning. you just KNOW it was the topic of choice at every party for MONTHS. crazy theories. most people do believe she got eaten and are enthusiastic abt telling you.

We already vaguely know abt the Sixth's response to getting pieces of a shattered skeleton and Cam's empty coffin (as fuckin if she wouldn't leave an equally dope corpse) (also shout out to whatever psychometrist studied Pal's bone fragments for a few hours before looking up and having to say that the explosion came from inside the Palamedes, must've been a tough gig, dude), but now i am thinking abt Rhodes recieving two urns and also this severed head :). that sucks. pressing F to pay respects to Mia and the kids, they deserved better than that.

truly believe the Eighth house had a distinct crisis of faith after recieving Colum and Silas's bodies. what the fuck else could you do. Silas was very clearly stabbed with Colum's sword and Colum has no eyes now. That does not bode well at all.
