so theres an ace attorney musical on youtube by random encounters and i lost my shit because of it and rushed to draw some dumb shit and you KNOW i was losing it because i didnt even bother to change to my favorite brush heart
My new buddy @wr1ghtw0rth introduced me to Ace Attorney Musical - and oh my, it is great!
The Act 1 cleverly trimmed all the fluff from first 3 cases of AA1 and made (w)right accents in the story. Especially introducing von Karma. Oh my, he is terrifying.
It was a bit boring for me as I don't find 1-1 and 1-2 interesting, but it was amusing to listen to. But the Act 2! Focused on Edgey's case! Oh gee it's soooooooooooo good!

At first I was not a fan of Phoenix's voice, I needed some time to get used to its quite high timbre which reminded me of a teenage goatling, but in Act 2 this feeling disappeared. In Act 2 I've seen this voice actor was a right fit. He has this young stubborn yet gentle energy that Phoenix excudes.
• But guys. My dudes and dudettes. GIRLS!
Listen to the dramatic magnificence of a velvet voice of Edgeworth and his performance!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! It's magestic! It's sophisticated! It's snooty yet dignified. It's so emotional and charismatic. It's so full of feelings and passion, of sorrow and inner commotion. It's so... so hnn~ ♥
"Wright! Why can't you undestand
I'm not a monster?
I'm just a man!"
As Edgeworth's simp I approve.
And my gosh Larry is hillarious here!
This musical is criminally underrated. I think we should make it more popular, kittens.
Anyone remember Ace Attorney: The Truth Reborn cause oh boy...
I remember coming across this Ace Attorney musical when I was digging DEEP for content and rewatching it now made me realise just how gosh darn absurd it is.
For anyone who's never seen it before, imagine this:
Ace Attorney Case 5: Rise from the Ashes only most of the characters have been replaced, Phoenix has a new love interest that replaces Miles and Larry in his backstory, and you now get to spend the next 2 hours watching the most unintentionally intentional love triangle between Phoenix, Edgeworth and Leona unfold on screen. (Only it's not a triangle, it's an L shape).
I'm not kidding. The entire time I felt like I was watching Phoenix playing a damn dating simulator and picking the most obviously wrong options it made me laugh.
The fact that Leona was introduced as the love interest and basically just replaced Edgeworth in Phoenix's backstory makes it even funnier. The og backstory was just too gay to handle I guess.
Though seriously, the entire love plot is completely overshadowed by literally any scene with Edgeworth in it.
Dude has literally the best and flashiest song in the musical and we even get treated to a scene that definitely didn't come out of someone's fanfiction.
Phoenix getting circled, pulled around and being practically forced to dance alongside multiple damn clones of Edgeworth is in the same musical they gave him a love interest. That worked out perfectly yea.
Honorable mention, Gumshoe was great.
Anyway plot happens and yippee Phoenix and Leona have a happy ending but let's be honest NOBODY CARES ABOUT THAT BECAUSE EDGEWORTH IS BACK BABY!
I cannot describe what seeing a female actor playing Edgeworth while wearing the most gorgeous suit I've seen did to me. It did something to me man!
Yeah I watched the musical for the plot. Sure, Sure...
Also here's a link to a playlist I made containing all the content on the Ace Attorney stage plays and musicals I could find on YouTube (official and fan-made)
My very first animatic! As soon as I heard this cute song I had to draw something for it, because Maya is my favourite Ace Attorney character, and her little sister/big brother relationship with Nick is my favourite in the series!
The song is "I'll Be There" from "Turnabout: An Ace Attorney Musical" on Youtube. Check it out, the whole thing's fantastic!
You got your Edgeworth x Wright, and you got your Edgeworth x Maya, but I wonder how many of you know about Edgeworth x Emilia from the third Ace Attorney Musical?
Edgeworth literally meets her when he accidentally goes back in time (yes you read that right- time travel exists in ace attorney don't worry about it) and helps her father from getting convicted on a false charge. He wants to save her from the pain of losing her father because he knows that pain too well (especially after seeing his own father alive and well again. Time travel.)
When she asks him for help, Edgeworth actually says he is weak to her eyes while clutching his chest. It's too sweet!
She needs to testify in court and back when Edgeworth was just a ruthless prosecutor he might have forced her to get the testimony but instead, he takes her to the courthouse and asks her to have courage with him so they can face it together.
And at the end when he gets the real culprit convicted, Emilia says she was glad to meet him he says he was honored to meet her because her courage inspired him to not give up on the path he has chosen.
And then she hugs him AND HE ACTUALLY HUGS HER BACK. Edgeworth. Showing affection. We love to see it!
Fun fact: this is one of the only times he actually smiles like this in the show. It's so wholesome!
And when Edgeworth somehow gets back to his own timeline, he assures himself that meeting Emilia wasn’t a dream and it’s implied that he wants to continue on his path hoping to find her again!
He has the courage to return to his path and faces Wright again because Emilia gave him the courage to do so (not to mention he got to meet his dad again which is also great).
And during the credits dance the show does for fun before taking bows, Edgeworth and Emilia get to dance together!
Gyakuten Saiban 3 is definitely my favorite musical from Japan y’all!
