#The Dragon Prince #Jeeeeeeez #The first four eps were a bit rocky for me #But after 5 it was nonstop goodness #Like when we went to Scumport it was just MMMMMM #Finnegrin is a great villain #Could’ve been more piratey if I’m honest #But like the glow toad story and like how they developed his need for control was so well done #Nyx coming back was a nice touch #And like the final fights??? So good #Janai and Amaya vs Karim and Kim’dael was very epic #Although MIYANA I— *sighs deeply* #Zubeia so sorry girl shouldn’t have happened to you #And when she thought of Avizandum AUGH #And then the coolest was Callum Ezran and Rayla vs Claudia #Veryyyyy cool #Although she was like “I’m not evil this is just who I am >:D!” And then proceeded to strangle Ezran #Girl that definitely falls under the category of evil #And like the final scenes we got of everyone were so impactful #But again for something titled “Mystery of Aaravos” why’s he only in one (1) scene!?!?!?! #Anyway yes TDP very good everyone go watch

The Dragon Prince Commentary Ep 4-8

EP 4

Opelli is a member of King Harrow’s council.

Amaya and Gren have known each other for a while. Devon imagines that Gren looked up to Amaya for a while. Details not really nailed down.

Amaya doesn’t get to see the princes too often. She primarily stays at the breach, but it’s enough that they have a warm relationship.

(Not in Ep 4 but an earlier ep) Callum has a photographic memory.

Ezran knows ASL less well than Callum

Going back to Rayla and Runaan’s picture in EP 3’s credit, play dual wielding is likened to the Moonshadow elf equivalent of playing baseball with your kid. Shows a lot of promise. Runaan and Rayla have considered each other family for most of their lives. Being an assassin is a lofty thing to be able to do in Moonshadow Elf culture. It’s one of the coolest things you could be.

The credit scene shows what Runaan is probably feeling in spite of their serious business mode because as Moonshadow elves they are “absurdly professional” and take their assassin’s calling very seriously.

EP 5

There was a 420 joke

Amaya and Viren have known each other for a long time.

Glow toads are like the best that you’ve ever tasted. Glow toads taste amazing.

In Moonshadow Elf culture, you’re not really supposed to show strong emotion while your doing your important job. It shows a lot in how Runaan acts as an adult and also in episode 8 where he’s being very stony and not showing any emotion to Viren vs Rayla who struggles with that part.

EP 6

Sarai was a warrior.

Aaron thinks Viren favors Claudia.

Soren looks up to his dad and impress his dad, but he’s caught his father exasperated with him and it hurts him. Soren’s self esteem is probably largely tied to his father’s validation of him.

EP 7

All the dogs are good dogs.

You can’t do dark magic with dogs (?)

Dagger guy is only named mercenary. No name.

Fans want to name the mercenary Alfred. Devon suggest Solare.

EP 8

One of the pins on Ezran’s backpack is Amaya’s symbol.

Viren’s scene with Runaan is much more accurate of what he is actually like because he has no particular agenda with someone he values.

Devon thinks Gren small talking with Runaan is a “grand idea” but she’s not sure how well Runaan would take it because he hates humans.

“How’s it going over there”

No Response.

“Okay, that’s great!”

Elves don’t really understand the concept of money.

At Episode 8 of the story, Rayla has an easier time with Ezran because Ezran has been very open with her from the start while trusting Callum has been a harder journey.

They specifically had notes for Runaan’s agonized screams to be cut short.
