I love love LOVE when two characters are only relevant to each other through a third character (in this case Tony), and then there's a scene where the middle character is removed, and it's just the two outer characters by themselves. Even though not a ton happened in this scene, it was automatically SUCH a cool scene to me just because of that. Also it was kind of sexy. What? Who said that?

it's the way jess shows up unannounced but rory still is truly glad to see him and reconnect... the way he wrote an entire damn book and rory was just SO impressed and so proud of him because she knew that he could do it, that he had so much intellectual potential and creativity, that he could maks something of himself and accomplish his goals... the way that she was so supportive of him following his dreams and proactively making a good life for himself... the way she always had faith in him (as did luke btw lets not forget about his impact!!) while others (lorelai, emily, the town of stars hollow, etc) were ready to write him off as a bad person and not consider him as worthy of their time or, worth anything, really.
and it's the way that jess wants to show rory real proof of how much he's changed... the way he wants to see rory succeed, brings her back to reality by being direct and has her realize/confront the fact that she's living an unproductive life at the moment, that she's stagnant and lost and not facing her decisions and acknowledging the harm her choices do to her... it's the way he cares about the trajectory of rory's path and her happiness... it's the way he remembered her birthday as well!!!
they might be broken up and obviously their romantic relationship could have been healthier, but their bond, and their rebuilt friendship, is still strong and it's such a good and healthy thing for them!! they spent time apart and grew in that time so that they could create a healthy friendship dynamic. jess grappled with his mistakes and confronted his past choices and then made new, better ones. and because of his bluntness and passion and honesty, rory's doing the same for herself, realizing the critical stage her life is in right now... god i love them so much and i'm spiraling down a rabbit hole for them again.

normally my first instinct is to root for the main to be with the Nicer Brother (which is an extreme oversimplification of the situation but for the sake of the trope. yk) but yeah i am jackie & cole all the way alrjfleltkakfjtj

just started the new season of the gossip girl reboot and... was season one this bad or am i just forgetting? like... the second hand embarrassment i am getting and cringe from these audrey/max/aki scenes in the first episode are awful. like, this is just rehashing the first season over again? i thought we were over this? they forced him into committing to them and now they’re all “well now we can’t do it because it’s gonna be hard to explain” like i get being anxious to be OUT but this is just... awful.
