6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? I think it's probably My Sister's Letter, a fic I wrote that takes place several decades after the end of Assassin's Fate
7. What is the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Sunlight and Air, probably, my ROTE post F&F fix-it
8. Do you get hate on fics? I've gotten a few weird comments on All Kings Are Beautiful, mostly people being weird about me not writing Aegon as a hardass warrior. The most recent one was someone complaining that the fic shouldn't be tagged neutral because Rhaenyra doesn't become queen lol
9. Do you write smut? I have, occasionally, but it's not usually super explicit

15. What’s a wip you want to finish but doubt you ever will? All of my unfinished fics that are published I do plan to finish. I have a WIP in my drafts for a Fitzloved fic set during Fool's Assassin that I will probably never get to.
16. What are your writing strengths? Internality, dialogue, characterization.
17. What are your writing weaknesses? Description. I can write good descriptions, but I'm more of a verbal person than a visual person. My co-writer often jokes that I'm the screenwriter and she's the director of photography.
18. Thoughts on dialogue in another language? I tend to use italics and dialogue tags, unless the other characters aren't meant to understand what's being said.
19. First fandom you wrote in? Realm of the Elderlings, if you don't count the thinly veiled Star Trek knockoff I wrote when I was thirteen before I knew fanfic existed (pre-internet!)
20. Favorite fic you’ve written? Right now it's Our Fathers Clad in Red, but I'm also very proud of my Realm of the Elderlings Modern AUs. They're niche as fuck but I think they're fun.

20 Question Fic Writer Game
Thank you for @needle-noggins for tagging me! Using my limited energy right now to respond, because otherwise I never will, oops.
How many works do you have on AO3? 65. One of them is a collection of prompts with 14 different chapters so, technically, 78 fics total.
What is your AO3 word count? 169,932. Nice. (Almost half of them are written in last 7 months for Trigun.)
What fandoms do you write for? Currently, only Trigun, but there are chances I might drop a fic or two in JJK fandom for Chosoyuki and then disappear. I would also like to finish some WIPs for Braime from GOT, but I don't know if my brain will let me. Never say never, though.
What are your top five fics by kudos?
What can I give that is all for you? These arms are all I have (But I hold you like I do love you) (396, Trigun, Mashwood)

Really fascinating to see how much kudos my Trigun fics used to get when I now often only get 30-50 at best. But, alas. Such is the ups and downs of fandom and I hope it's not reflection of my writing quality vaning as well.
Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? Yes, I do. When I first started using to AO3, a writer I admired had the stance that it inflates the comment number and is 'cheating' when it comes to the statistics, but I realized that, at least for me, comments aren't any parameters I search fics by and also I really wanted to feel community and connect with my readers and writers, so I wholly threw myself in responding later on.
What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Oh, that's a good question. Several WIPs come to mind, but as for actual published ones...
I suppose Before you leave, Remember I was with you (You must know you are beloved) could count because it follows canon ending of the Rogue One which means all of the characters die. But it is more of a bittersweet one. In similar vein, If this is communication, I disconnect (I need you, you want me, but I don't know how to connect)
I think You taught me the courage of stars before you left (How light carries on endlessly even after death) overall might win, because it ends on open wound of grief, though it is also canonical death.
What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? I don't think there is a singular one that is more happy than others. There are so many shades and nuances of happiness, who am I to judge which one is the most valid, the biggest?
Do you get hate on fics? I once joked in author notes that maybe the fic did contain traces of early polyam if you squint and someone was very upset about it, though in text it was just close mutual friendship and some teasing and only the tagged main couple was openly romantically involved. I've gotten some weird comments overall through the years, but thankfully nothing more hateful than that.
Do you write smut? If so, what kind? Much to my own horror, yes, I do now. And apparently mostly the monsterfucking kind. I don't know what else might be meant by 'kind'.
Do you write crossovers? No, that's not something that really comes to my mind. I am too engrossed in exploring every nook and cranny of the canon and characters that are my focus at the time.
Have you ever had a fic stolen? Not fic, as far as I know, but I have had my poetry and RP stories and plots stolen by people I trusted, such as my teacher and close friends at the time.
Have you ever had a fic translated? No, but I've had one podficced!
Have you ever cowritten a fic before? No, but I'd really like to give it a try, I and @bienchanter have a lovely Rancher/Western Mashwood AU we'd like to cowrite, we just can't quite figure how to go about it.
I've also had the pleasure of having them write a companion piece to my fic (theirs and mine) and had the joy of writing companion pieces to @needle-noggins and @frappeflamingo stories.
What's your all-time favourite ship? I am a person who cannot pick just one. I'd say some of the most Rainy defining ones have been Han x Leia, Braime and Mashwood.
What's a WIP you'd like to finish but doubt you ever will? So, so many Braime ones. Especially the ones that are multichapter for fic exchanges. Their recipients deserve better.
What are your writing strengths? Emotions, evocative descriptions.
What are your writing weaknesses? Everything else. Okay, okay, before I get bonked from every direction - I struggle with dialogues and action descriptions and easily get overwhelmed when tackling larger, tightly packed plot.
Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? I think it is perfectly valid and even good for characters that would actually mix the languages naturally. I've definitely thrown in some Brazilian words for my Wolfwood, for this reason.
First fandom you wrote for? The Labyrinth on ff.net in 2008 or about there.
Favourite fic you've ever written? I don't have a singular favorite, there is something that I love, something unique that makes me appreciate it in almost all of my bigger stories, even if it's just a joke that was made in conversations with my friends.

I do! However my timing is always so bad and it makes me feel shitty but I’m the sort of person who needs some time to think out what I wanna say + I get distracted very easily and forget to do so until weeks later. My responses are horribly late but my words are genuine.
6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Hm, I guess it would be by latest oneshot featuring corpse queen Luke with a very mentally unwell Aemond. Very sad.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
The ending isn’t published yet since the story won’t be completed for a while but Hiding in plain sight should be my happiest ending according to my plans. Crazy, I know.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
I wouldn’t say I receive outright hate. Maybe a few backhanded responses every once in a while but it’s rare.
9. Do you write smut? If so what kind?
YES! Very emotional, 9/10 there will be tears shed while they fuck nasty.

Sadly no. I don’t think I’m the type of person who could pull off clashing two different universes and their characters together. It’s a difficult thing to write in my opinion and the handful of crossovers I’ve downloaded so i’ll never lose them are god-tier. Takes a lot of talent me thinks.

Not to my knowledge 🧐

Yes. Its translated in spanish

Nope. My process is a very long drawn out one that I don’t want to stress anyone out with while trying to work alongside me. Sometimes it’ll take me weeks or even months to get a chapter out. Im looking at you FMBH.
However I wouldn’t be co-writing something small if the plot interests me. Maybe four chapters or so? Idk

Interesting enough I started a WIP when Lucemond was still new so around December-ish. It’s a dragon shifter AU but I don’t know where to take it so she’ll probably never see the light of day. Lol

Conveying emotions I think. Probably because i’ve been down the depression and crappy self image rabbit hole enough to express it in my works. Internal monologue is also one I’m good at.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Pacing! Omg my pacing is ass. Everything is either too slow or too fast which leads to so much re-editing to get it all flowing in an appropriate time.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I don’t do it because google translate isnt very accurate most of the time and language is so important. If I do feel writing dialogue in another language is that important i’ll ask someone who speaks it to help.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Well…does the shitty fic I wrote about Edward/Bella/Jacob in seventh grade count? Because if not then Lucemond it is lol

Brienne sagged against the wall. “Oh, gods, gods… I feel… I can’t breathe.” Her mouth was open, gasping, and her nostrils moved in and out, frantically sucking at the air. There was fear in her voice, close to panic, the same panic he was feeling.
“Nor can I.” He managed to force out the words.
There was no enemy here, no danger they could fight with their swords. If they were dying, suffocating, going mad, what was the defense?
He stumbled toward her, and as he did, the roots changed again, spreading across the floor, making a mat, a cradle, a softly inviting bed. Brienne reached out her arms to him.

“Captain Tarth,” Stark interrupted, an emotion in his eyes that Jaime couldn't parse out. The Colonel’s scent flared, nervous. “She goes by the call sign Ace of Hearts, correct?”
“She does…she did.” Jaime forced the words from his throat.
He had given her the name at the end of fighter training, part jest and part brutal honesty. Brienne was an ace pilot, deadly with a shot. She’d gone on to rack up more enemy downs than anyone else in the squadron. The heart part he’d added as a joke.
From the point of view of someone who’d just met her, Brienne had seemed totally unappealing as a mate: intimidating in stature and plain featured, unrelentingly forthright, uninterested in playing nice, or coy, or cute. Her bland beta scent had only reinforced the complete lack of appeal.
Irony was a godsdamned bitch. The only heart Brienne had claimed was his.

Craziest crossover? - I had this Batman x Claire Temple fic that I wrote a while back called The Cure for a Broken Heart, which was basically about Claire being an in-house nurse for Bruce Wayne and lived with him at Wayne Manor. It's okay, definitely not my best fic but it was a cute crossover.

🍐 Do you listen to music when you write? If yes, what kind? If no, why not?
I do! I always need some sort of auditory stimulation to concentrate and then I honestly just listen to whatever I'm the mood for. These days it's either my Ghost, my metal or my indie playlist or occasionally a playlist I make for a specific fic. Sometimes I like to listen to ambient rooms or lo-fi playlists on YouTube as well to match the mood of what I'm writing :)
🍓 OTP(s)?
Sooo, I am very picky about ships I actually get invested in which is why I don't usually write for any. My fave in the Ghost fandom is definitely Terzomega, though!
If we're talking other media some of my fave ships are Braime, Hannigram, Carol/Therese and recently BlackStede. And can't forget Morticia and Gomez Addams who are THE OTP.
🍋 Fluff or smut? Or both?
Ideally both. Writing wise, I probably prefer writing fluff. I do not love writing smut as much, mostly because I don't think I'm very good at it no matter what anyone tells me. I need to be in a certain mood to write smut I actually enjoy lol but then it's a lot of fun as well.

How come you’re reading and writing fanfics if you don’t like smut? That’s half the battle. Just curious.
Thanks for the ask. I actually asked myself recently why I did start to write Braime fics. There are other fandoms, characters and pairings I like, after all. And yet, I’ve never felt inclined to write for any of them. And then I figured out why Brienne and Jaime are special...
The reason I identify so much with Brienne is pretty obvious. I’m ugly and there’s something else (not my height and being too “manly” – I’m actually more Hobbit-sized) that will have any potential love interest go “no thanks, next one please”. On top of that, I have barely any family left just like Brienne. So, I do know my fair share of loneliness and have become a strong and self-reliant woman since there’s simply no one around who’ll help me. Which means, my life is practically a modern AU version of Brienne’s.
When you look beneath all that, though, I’m Jaime. In case some of you can’t understand why he was so addicted to Cersei, I can! Let’s just say that there was someone in my life once who made me feel seen and heard and understood for the first time and that I would have buried bodies for them. If you love me, you’ll have my love and loyalty in return for eternity and there’s barely anything that can make you lose it. And Cersei was a master manipulator who threw Jaime just enough scraps of love to earn his loyalty. Don’t listen to the show writers, however, as they have no idea how Jaime works. Because the moment Cersei fired up that sept and Tommen died, she lost it for good.
Saying that, reading and writing Braime stories isn’t just some fun past-time for me. It’s rather become a healing and self-loving practice that makes me more whole because these two parts of me come together over and over again and accept and understand and love each other. And for that, I’ll put up with all the smut. Lol.
In general, I simply follow two rules when it comes to that. First off, I diligently avoid any scenes that are too focused on the icky body fluid swap. And secondly, I move on as soon as I’m bored (and smut bores me really quickly, no matter how well it’s written). I simply wish Jaime and Brienne a great time and give them some privacy and then come back as soon as they’re finished. :D There is also, as I said, a rare smut scene that makes me go either “aw, that’s so sweet” or “hmm, that’s kinda hot”, but they are few and far in between, the exception rather than the rule.
