The leading figures of neurodiversity are Grandin, Robison, Silberman, Baron-Cohen, and Atwood. All of them are 65 or older, so adherents of the movement will have to consider, "Where do we go from here?"
While one might want to hope that one group keeps the name while abandoning the cultic teaching, like what happened after the death of Herbert W. Armstrong, but most Armstrongists broke fellowship with this reformist faction led by Tkach and continued promoting Armstrongist doctrine.
On the other hand, one might envision a scenario where the group remains, and its teachings do not change substantially, but its numbers and influence wane, like what happened after the death of Mary Baker Eddy. While the disease denialism certainly paints the picture of the neurodiversity movement consisting of Eddy's spiritual descendants, her group was way too small and centralized and she did basically everything possible to avoid splintering.
One might anticipate something similar to the aftermath of Joseph Smith, CT Russell, or Ahn Sahng-hong, where two major groups emerge, or one major group amidst a flurry of smaller groups emerge, each swearing on their life they are promoting their founders' actual teaching. However, again, these movement were way more centralized than the neurodiversity movement.
The best comparison is likely what happened in the years after the deaths of Alexander Campbell and Barton Stone. They engineered a movement that was decentralized by design, so there were several different figures all insisting the others were promoting false ideas. A few major groups have arisen, some more decentralized than others, but their movement is still primarily decentralized.
The likely causes of splintering for the neurodiversity movement in the coming years will likely include functioning labels, which illnesses they think are quirky enough for inclusion under their umbrella, whether to use communication devices and which, the validity of self-diagnosis, how much treatment is too much treatment, and which books and studies fit into the neurodiverse canon.
These are the issues the neurodiversity movement will find itself contending with.

Highlights from Catherine Tate's Q&A Panel at Armageddon Expo 2024 (NZ) :
[I took notes best I could during the panel but some may be paraphrased]
Q: What's your favourite Doctor Who alien?
CT: The wonderful Ood!
Q: Who's your favourite Doctor? (Crowd gasps in anticipation)
CT: Well, I get asked this a lot, and obviously it's David (Tennant). I don't know what number he is, he keeps coming back. But definitely, David. Although, someone recently pointed out that I was technically the first ever female Doctor. So you know what? Me, I'm my favourite Doctor.
Q: What's your favourite episode you were in of Doctor Who?
CT:The Runaway Bride, because that's where it all began.
Q: What's a favourite memory of working with David Tennant on Doctor Who?
CT: The scene in 'Partners in Crime', the one with the Adipose, there's the scene where Donna and the Doctor see each other from across a room. But they're both behind glass and they have the whole mime scene with the windows. Well, I remember it was about 3am when we were filming that - - Russel really likes to film at night if the story is taking place at night - so it was 3am, and I said to the director 'Uh, right here it just says Donna Mimes' and he said 'Yeah do whatever'.
So that whole scene was ad-lib during shooting and David and I were so in sync with it, we did that first take and the director said cut and print!
Q: How emotional were you filming your final scene in Journey's End?
CT: So, we didn't always film in order. And I'm not really a sentimental person, but I will say I thought Donna's ending was absolutely perfect. When she meets the Doctor she was always yelling at the world, and she was so different than what she was by the end, she had so much growth with the Doctor and she changed so much in her time with him, but then, she forgets the him and all those memories. And that final scene, what really got me was how he says 'Donna, I'm off' and she's just, I think she's on the phone, and she just waves dismissively. She doesn't know him anymore. Russell, the way he ties things together, he's brilliant, that man.
Q: What was it like working with Bernard (Cribbins)?
CT: Oh, Bernard. God, I love him. He was so funny and talented. He always had stories and voices and sound effects. He loved making people laugh. But we had a gag where every single time I called him I'd say (Donna Voice) 'GRANDAD!'
He'd say, "Who is this?"
"It's Catherine."
"Catherine who?"
"Catherine Tate"
"Never heard of her."
We did this every time I called him and I loved it.
Q: Is there anything annoying about working with David Tennant?
CT: No, absolutely not. He's perfect. He's the best person to work with. I will say though, I was annoying him a lot. When we did the 60th Anniversary specials, our trailers looked exactly the same and I never knew where my trailer was. I'd walk into his all the time!
Sometimes I'd walk in and see his shoes in the trailer and instead of thinking 'Oops, wrong trailer', my brain went 'What's he gone and left his shoes in my trailer for?'
It got so bad, sometimes I'd walk up the stairs and from inside I'd hear 'NO.'
Q: Was it weird coming back to play Donna after all these years? Especially when it was along side David Tennant?
CT: It was a bit weird, more in the 'Oh I hope i still know how to do this' way than anything. But I did think it would be hilarious if David and I arrived on set and every take we just did completely wrong voices. Just thought it'd be hilarious for him to go (in an airy upper-crust British accent) 'Ohhhh, hellloooo. I'm the Doctor'
Q: If you could take any prop from set, what would you take?
CT: Ohhhh, I'd have very large pockets and see what I could fit. But mostly I think it'd be a sonic screwdriver. It's gotta be a sonic screwdriver, doesn't it? It's small and mobile... Easy to steal. Plus, it'd fetch a great price on Ebay!
Q: Best show you've ever worked on?
CT: The Office, they paid me tons of money.
Q: My mum loves David Tennant, is there something you can say to dissuade her?
CT: Hm, something to convince her he's not.... Oh, he doesn't believe in astrology! I'll say 'It's Mercury Retrograde' and he'll say 'NO, NO, NO I DON'T WANT TO HEAR IT'.
Other Highlights:
As soon as she came out, she saw the stage had no steps to the audience, so she stayed on mic and went the long way round to go into the audience and interview people, trying to find who had traveled the furthest to be here. She was sorely disappointed everyone was just from Aotearoa 🤣
Donna Lines She Performed:
"Oi Spaceman! You're not mating with me sunshine!" (Crowd went wild for that)
"Binary. Binary. Binary." (🥺)
She did some of her characters: Lauren Cooper mostly, but also wished someone Happy birthday as Nan

An Unbroken 1,700-year-old Roman Egg Found in England
A three-dimensional scan of a 1,700-year-old egg discovered at a Roman site in England reveals that, eggs-traordinarily, it still has the remains of a yolk and egg white inside.
It's thought to be the only time a centuries-old chicken egg found with its insides preserved.
"We were absolutely blown away when we saw the contents in there, as we might have expected them to have leached out," Edward Biddulph, a senior project manager at the private company Oxford Archaeology, told BBC News.
The egg was one of four found several years ago during an archaeological excavation of a Roman-era site in the central English town of Aylesbury, about 20 miles (30 kilometers) east of Oxford. Three of the fragile eggs fractured as they were unearthed, releasing a "potent stench," but the fourth remained intact.
Now, the surviving egg has been scanned at the University of Kent with microscopic computed tomography (micro-CT), in which many X-ray scans are compiled digitally to make a virtual 3D model. "It produced an amazing image that indicated that the egg, apart from being intact — which is incredible enough — also retained its liquid inside, presumably deriving from the yolk, albumen etc," as well as an air bubble, Biddulph said.
Tumblr media
Roman eggs
The eggs were found in a waterlogged pit at the Aylesbury site, which was being excavated by Oxford Archaeology ahead of a housing development. The archaeologists found evidence of habitation there dating back to the Neolithic period, and the pit dated from the third century A.D., when England was a part of the Roman Empire.
According to a statement from Oxford Archaeology, the pit was first used for malting grain and brewing ale, but it was later filled with water and became a place where passersby could throw in coins and other items as offerings to the gods for good luck.
Organic objects usually rot away when exposed to oxygen, but here many were preserved by the waterlogged soil. As well as the eggs, which seem to have been an offering of some sort, the pit contained a wooden basket, leather shoes, and wooden vessels and tools.
Although Roman-era eggshells have been found before — often in graves, where eggs were thought to be suitable offerings — this seems to be the first time a complete Roman-era egg has been found in Britain. The only other Roman-era egg to survive intact was found in the hand of a dead infant buried near the Vatican, according to The History Blog. But it contained no liquids; archaeologists think it represented rebirth after the premature death of the baby.
The Oxford Archaeology statement noted that the Romans often ascribed symbolic meanings to eggs; they were associated with the gods Mithras and Mercury and had connotations of fertility and rebirth.
The intact egg from Aylesbury was taken to the Natural History Museum in London, where experts were consulted about how to conserve it without breaking it. Senior bird curator Douglas Russell told BBC News that the museum had a collection of mummified bird eggs excavated from the catacombs of sacred animals in Egypt that might be older.
"However, this is the oldest unintentionally preserved avian egg I have ever seen," he said. "That makes it fascinating."
The egg is now back at a museum in Aylesbury, where archaeologists are trying to work out how to extract the contents without breaking the shell.

i love making aus for my favourite things and while i will definitely get to sharing all my many random-but-somehow-work-super-well-aus, ive been thinking about this actors! gorillaz au and holy shitttt man it works so well for so many reasons but especially since an au where the gorillaz members are all actors that just keep working together and the albums are actually projects 1) fits each of their characters really well and 2) each of the albums are so cinematic they could all be movies or tv shows like
CELEBRITY TAKEDOWN: a 2001 dark comedy sit com about a shitty band of nobodies trying to be something while also criticizing society and the music industry. runs for 3 seasons and was a much bigger success than anyone expected. think gorillaz bites from phase 1 type of vibe but with more angst and more content.
DEMON DAYS: a 2005 movie about 4 strangers in a post apocalyptic society trying to survive a trip across the country together and finding new reasons to do so. super strong angsty atmosphere with interesting and well developed characters and action scenes to leave any viewer in awe, even if they got sick of all the green after a while. was an immense success and put our 4 actors on the map even more than ct did, considered to be one of the best films of the decade.
WELCOME TO PLASTIC BEACH: a 2010 movie about two musicians and a dead robot recreation of their dead daughter/sister are stuck on an island made of plastic and need to make the album of the century while also avoiding killer angry pirates, strange whales, gun malfunctions, isolation, and the physical depiction of death itself. all the while, the dead daughter/sister and a missing friend try to find their way to the others despite all the things listed above. it would be a colourful and beautiful shot yet zaney film that wouldn’t reach nearly as much attention as it deserves upon release
WE ARE STILL HUMANZ: a 2017 movie focusing on the lives of 12 people at a club at the end of teh world, showing a glimpse of each of their lives and humanity before the end times. stuart, murdoc, noodle, and russel are 4 of those 12! the movie is political and has stunning lighting and is filled with great music, plus was the comeback film for miss noodle who took a break from acting in her 20s, but the lack of focus character wise meant it wasn’t as big of a success as hoped. many talk about how it should’ve been a miniseries but the movie still works very well regardless.
THE NOW NOW - a 2018 movie about a man dragging his 3 best friends in a spontaneous usa road trip after 1) cutting ties with a significant person in his life and 2) realizing he’s getting older and lonelier and wanting to avoid it all costs. it’s a quieter film with big emotions and stellar writing all about the hurt that comes from missing someone against your own will and reflection and all that. while also not a major hit, it’s a comfort favourite by many who enjoy crying. only thing here murdoc wasn’t involved with because he was busy being hollywood’s biggest bad boy in Jail.
SONG MACHINE: STRANGE TIMEZ: a 2020 anthology sci fi tv series where each season tackles a new set of characters and a new set of problems. this first season was all about chaos, forgiveness, and coping through time/space traveling portals and space cars. though the pandemic made some things very difficult during production, it was considered to be a super fun project for all people involved and is a very fun a lighthearted watch for many who needed it during that year
CRACKER ISLAND: a campy 2022 movie about cults and cult mentality in the modern age through hollywood and comedy. some rich fucker tries to impress a mysterious lady next door with fake cult stuff but she took an interest in his strange roommate instead. the problem is her interest is a bit bigger than any of them thought and through investigation they realize she is like a legitimate cult leader and try to stop her. it’s dumb fun with great vibes and cinematography.
like?? i’d watch all of these?? do you see the VISION?????????

Hi CT! I was on instagram and stumbled across something I didn't understand, it seems to be some alt right shit but I figured I'd ask ab the things I saw cause you might have heard of them. The two biggest things were "last flag standing" and "for the claim of the life". The guy seemingly running those two things is Russel-Jay: Gould (sic) and he calls himself postmaster general and I also found a video where he says he's the supreme court judge. The syntax on the websites is also strange and feels 4 chan-ish. And lastly the person reposting this stuff I found has alt right trump conspiracy bullshit all over it. Just thought you might think it's interesting or be able to tell me more ab it if it's something you know about. Thanks CT and have a good day!
This is bizarre.
I think this dude made a fake conspiracy documentary about a non-existent military past, and then named the documentary something similar to "Last Flag Flying" in an attempt to draw more clicks.

Aylesbury Roman Egg 🥚 With Contents A 'World First', Say Scientists
But to the astonishment of archaeologists and naturalists, a scan has revealed that one of the eggs recovered intact still has liquid – thought to be a mix of yolk and albumen – inside it, and may give up secrets about the bird that laid it almost two millennia ago.
— By Helen Burchell, BBC News, Buckinghamshire
Tumblr media
This Egg 🥚 was Cast into a Watery Pit 1,700 Years Ago - Possibly as Part of a Roman Funeral Rite
The only intact chicken's egg found from Roman Britain is now thought to be the only one of its type in the world - after scientists found it still had liquid inside.
The egg, which is about 1,700 years old, was found during a dig in Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire. Researchers said at the time it was a "Genuinely Unique Discovery".
However, they admitted they were "Blown Away" recently to find it still contained the yolk and egg white. A Micro CT Scan - that Produces 3D Images - revealed the contents of the egg, complete with the air sac.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A Scan Confirmed the Roman Egg Found in Aylesbury was Complete
Edward Biddulph, senior project manager at Oxford Archaeology, which oversaw the excavation, said while finding the only intact egg from the period in Britain was "amazing... the fact that the egg still retains its original contents, however, is absolutely incredible".
He said: "We were absolutely blown away when we saw the contents in there, as we might have expected them to have leeched out."
The egg was found with others during a dig that took place between 2007 and 2016, ahead of a housing development at Berryfields, in Aylesbury.
Tumblr media
Archaeologists needed to prevent the egg breaking up as they removed it during the dig
It was the only egg to survive intact, with others breaking during the excavation, releasing a "potent stench".
The findings from the site were made public in 2019, at which time Mr Biddulph said the extent and range of discoveries "was more than could be foreseen".
However, years on, he said the Roman egg was "still revealing its secrets".
Recent work has been carried out by conservator Dana Goodburn-Brown, who took the egg to the University of Kent to be scanned.
"It produced an amazing image that indicated that the egg, apart from being intact - which is incredible enough - also retained its liquid inside, presumably deriving from the yolk, albumen etc," said Mr Biddulph.
Tumblr media
Remains of a basket found in the pit alongside the eggs has been recreated by basket-maker Owen Jones
The egg has also been taken to London's Natural History Museum, where Douglas Russell, senior curator of the museum's birds' eggs and nests collection, and his colleague Arianna Bernucci were consulted about how to conserve the egg and remove the contents without breaking it.
Mr Russell said: "There are older eggs with contents - for example, the [museum] has a series of mummified birds' eggs, probably excavated... from the catacombs of sacred animals at Denderah, Upper Egypt in 1898 which may be older.
"However, this is the oldest unintentionally preserved avian egg I have ever seen. That makes it fascinating.
"Going forward, it will be very exciting to see if we can use any of the modern imaging and analysis techniques available here at the museum to shed further light on exactly which species laid the eggs and its potential archaeological significance."
Mr Biddulph said: "As we found out when we visited the Natural History Museum, [it] appears to be the oldest known example in the world."
The archaeologist admitted that it was "a bit daunting walking around London with a 2,000-year-old egg".
"And it was a bit hairy on the Tube - although it was well protected - it's not like I was carrying it around in my pocket."
The now much-travelled egg is being housed at Discover Bucks Museum in Aylesbury while work continues to figure out how to extract the contents without breaking the shell.
"It's a bit like blowing an egg - but obviously a much finer process," Mr Biddulph said.
"There is huge potential for further scientific research and this is the next stage in the life of this remarkable egg."
