today marks the 4 year anniversary of the 5th and last episode of life is strange 2! i honestly think this is one of the most emotionally painful sections of the whole game ( and that’s saying a lot) but it’s so beautifully done. also i want to know what ending did you get your first playthough?

kind of wanna disintegrate over Sean referring to himself and Daniel as wolves while giving the rest of the trimmigrants dogsonas in the bedtime story. like, he spends so much of ep 3 trying to fit into the group, be part of the family, and then through the lens of fairy tale he's acknowledging this line between the Diaz brothers and everyone else, because there are very real differences between wolves and dogs--certainly hound dogs, the specific breed Sean mentions--even if they come from the same place, even if they've been treated with the same harshness and driven out beyond society in the same way.

and then for the rest of the ep Sean, and to an extent Daniel, try to pretend this isn't true, they can fit into with the Humboldt crew and hold onto each other all at once, and it just doesn't work. Both routes in the ep involve some form of trying this--whether giving into Cassidy's concerns or Finn's plan--only for it to end in extreme violence, the kind you literally cannot avoid in a way you can with other eps. The Diaz brothers are wolves, not dogs; they can't fit in here, maybe they can't fit in anywhere. trying to pretend otherwise will only end in bloodshed, and deep down they know this even when they pretend otherwise.
