Fallen London Fans for Gaza

okay! we’ve had a lot of people interested in an event like this, so here we go.

this event will focus on raising money for this verified gofundme:

the google form to sign up to contribute art is here. there is also a link to a discord server for the artists on the form. EDIT: if you do not want to join the discord, fill out the form anyway, and message me on tumblr so we can work something out.

this event does not have an end date at this time! if that changes, I will let you know, but for now, you can donate or sign up to contribute art at any time.

what are the request rules?

no requesting a specific artist.

no sexually explicit requests. if you and someone else would like to facilitate an exchange of explicit art or writing for donations on your own, more power to you! but please do that outside of the discord and/or google forms.

please be patient! requests may take some time to be fulfilled, the people working on them are humans with complicated lives.

unless you receive something genuinely harmful (eg something racist), please do not complain to the artist about not liking what you received.

you can absolutely donate multiple times! it would be great.

these rules are also listed on the google form, along with clarification on specific questions.

if you have any questions or problems, reach out to me at any time.

how will the request process work?

you will donate any amount of money to the linked gofundme campaign

generally speaking, the more money you donate, the more detailed art/writing/etc you will receive in return. specifics are up to the person fulfilling the request, though.

you will then attach proof in the form of a screenshot (with any identifying information removed- please don’t dox yourself) to the request form.

answer the other questions on the form and submit it. I will then share it with the artists in the discord server, and one of them will fulfill your request. they may reach out to contact you on tumblr or other platforms if they have specific questions for you.

when posting your creations, please use the tag “fallen london fans for gaza” and/or @ me! I would love to share what you made.

It has been a full year since my little lady came down to the Neath! I would still remember every time the stories of the fifth city impressed me. Sometimes I laughed with joy, sometimes I moved to tears. Anyway, it's nice to encounter such a great game and I'm glad to keep playing it:3

idk if you would, but if you ever decided to make a video on something fallen london related, what do you think you would make it about?

it's really intimidating but I've been thinking for ages since I got special interest beamed about a lore dive / guide. FL lore is not very accessible (it's split between four games, one of which is FL itself, a uniquely structured time gated huge collection of content very difficult to search and reference from) but it slaps (it slaps hard). Referencing it and determining the truth is suitably like being an occult scholar in universe: many sources, interpretations, and hunting

Its not really something easily 'iceberg' able, tho that's the obviously format people go with. There's so much going on everywhere with variable levels of secret lore too. Like you'd have to do "the masters" "The masters are space bats" "the masters exact role and secrets" separately really. Or, you know, carefully, so it's something an outsider could follow too without getting utterly lost... I think mask of the rose is a great source on where to start with the factions and city.

The thing with FL lore I've been so pleased by is that it follows certain hidden rules and themes that manage to hold together well. It's about threading which, when. When unwind vid is done I'm thinking of starting a rough outline to see how I feel. I'm already lore deep diving to my friends constantly about the sun boning a crab

I want to play Fallen London again but the problem with Fallen London is that while you're playing it's all perfectly simple and ingrained but the moment you step away for like, a month, then when you come back suddenly the entire game is like "If you really want to continue this storyline you'll have to get 9 Whispers of a Lovelorn Dream and sell them to an authoritarian rabbit in the 87.2th circle of hell where it'll bestow on you the Token of an Inadequate Perfume-Maker, but first you'll need to buy the Indefatigable Jetski from the Fulminating Dowager at Watchmaker's Hill by collecting enough Pieces of the Flayed Corpse of God and converting them into Baptized Rat Kings." and I'm like wow I cannot believe how recently I understood what all of that meant. but now I. do not.
