In Defense of Fashion Dreamer NOT being Style Savvy

I will start this off by saying that I understand people's dissapointment and your feelings are valid, just as much as my feelings in this post are valid.. so let's be respectful to eachother. This post is not an attack on anyone.

I see many people confused that this game is not Style Savvy and it really compelled me to make a post about this..

The developer team has never promised Style Savvy

These pictures are straight from the Marvelous Game Showcase 2023, where the interviewer comments on how Syn Sophia is known for their fashion games (Style Savvy) only for the developer to make it clear that this is a new experience. You may watch this here.

"Fashion Dreamer" is a fashion and communication game set in the virtual space "Eve" where you can enjoy fashion, connect with people, get "likes", and become an influencer. We hope you will enjoy the many wonderful items created by the planning and development company Syn Sophia's deep knowledge and commitment to fashion, as well as new experiences that can only be found online.

Syn Sophia throughout has been extremely clear that this game is a communication game. This is a very different type of genre from Style Savvy.

This is also the back cover of the game, again being quite transparent about what the game is about.

I want to be clear, I love Style Savvy and I would LOVE another Style Savvy game.. but we need to be honest with ourselves and realize that many had expectations of a game that the developers kept warning is not a reality. The developers never promised Style Savvy, and just because they made a Style Savvy game in the past does not mean every fashion game by them MUST be Style Savvy.

Many complaints I agree with, lack of zoom? bugs? etc.. this post is strictly about the people surprised and confused why this is not Style Savvy, not towards players feeling the game is lackluster. This game is not perfect and I am not going to pretend that. I just feel that with the amount of people misunderstanding what the game is, I had to make this post to offer some information. I support you no matter if you refund the game or keep it.

I see other dress up game players whine about cash grab events. Honey, it could be worse.....It's time for a rant about how much I HATE Covet Fashion and its pay to win style of play.

It has "unworn" and "in season" bonuses that give more favor to players who can constantly buy new items.

Covet hands out meager in-game currency that can barely buy anything and call that free to play. It's takes probably a week of doing the daily challenge to be able to buy a single dress.

To be able to do any of the other challenges, you gotta buy something from a specific current season collection, which oftentimes everyone ends up getting the same item because it's the cheapest, and it just becomes a "who wore it better" competition.

Shout out to games with a better free to play style. I'll never complain about their prices on optional sets and events because you can still actively expand your closet at a reasonable pace weeks months and YEARS of playing without spending a dime.
