For the music asks: 8, 17, 22 and 26 please? <3
so I'm finally going through my askbox and I can no longer find the exact music asks this referred to BUT I'm gonna do the last one I reblogged! (It's possible it was an earlier version of that one anyway)
8) Is there an artist or song that you like, despite being of a genre you don’t usually like?
The closest I get here is probably certain Broadway numbers despite not being the kind of person who actively listens to cast recordings (like. I enjoy watching musicals and I enjoy hearing people talk about them, I just don't often enjoy listening to the songs in isolation) (ok like people often treat it as a joke but I really like Send in the Clowns. Not the show it's from, just the song.)
17 will be answered in the next ask :)
22) What’s your favorite song or album from the year you where born?
Two of my favorite albums came out the year I was born: The Book of Secrets by Loreena McKennitt and Homogenic by Björk. If I'm picking a song it's Tubthumping
26) Have you ever pretended to like an artist/song just to fit in or please somebody?
Not especially only because I like so many things that there isn't usually much "pretending" involved. I guess the closest I've come is when someone is talking about a particular genre I'm not especially into and I feel like the polite thing is to encourage them to talk more instead of being like "I don't know what any of this is"...but again, not really pretending.

Now that i think about it that time around 2010s when millenials were in high school and this 80s thrash metal nostalgia was a huge thing in some circles it was somewhat ridiculous but what i keep seeing right now is high schoolers being 'nostalgic' for scene/'emo' of all things like why are you nostalgic for the most shit tier thing in history couldnt u pick something less lame

okay actually one more bitch about how people talk about music, when people say they hate blues or more commonly jazz it sounds. so fucking stupid. most people listen to and enjoy music that was either directly or indirectly inspired by blues and/or jazz like come on dude
