Today I present you a daudmartin angst. Tomorrow? Who knows.

Have you ever considered the fact that Daud left to Morley after the events of D1 because Martin wanted to be buried in his homeland? Have you ever thought how hard it might be for Daud to hold this burial without an actual body? It was just him and an empty hole in the ground missing a body and maybe even a gravestone. How Daud would carefully wrap all things that Martin gifted him through the years because it's all he can do to fulfill his close one's last will.

Some stuff was pretty expensive (a lighter with inlaid gems, Matin never told him where he dug that thing - Daud never used it, kept as an emergency money source; but now it's priceless); some stuff was pretty useful in the past (neatly done leather straps with pouches for extra bolts or practically anything. Daud wasn’t superstitious but when this thing tore off a few days before his and Martin relationship “tore off” he felt uneasy); oh, and Martin's favorite cigars, Daud would never allow himself such a fancy pack but today it wasn't about him (Daud remembers how Martin offered him this pack and a bottle of rom as a small gift to celebrate their done job. That one where Martin helped him plan the Empress's assassination and asked to do the same to Burrows. But when Daud declined, Martin didn't say anything but “And that's why I told you not to kill Corvo if he returned earlier'').

It's a strange thing to stand near the grave of someone who betrayed you the last time you saw them. It's a strange feeling of something squeezing your lungs and blocking your throat. A need to remind yourself to breathe. And a feeling of guilt because even now, when no one is looking, you can't cry on the grave of someone who betrayed you. A strange, not-an-actual-burial, not even done properly and definitely not how Martin would like to go but still better than nothing. Martin would still be remembered after all.

Heyo! I have a friend I'm trying to get more into BL. She's watched KinnPorsche and I recently got her to watch 3 Will Be Free (I know, not BL). She's somewhat picky about the romance she likes to consume, so I thought I'd ask you which BLs you think would be best to get her started with the genre. Her specifications are 1) a good, solid plot (any type is fine); 2) slow burn; 3) and good chemistry. She also loves sci fi and fantasy. My initial thoughts are MoD, Not Me, and AToTS. Any additions?

I have not one specific list for you, but several! Many of these not updated so likely to recommend pre the 2023 madness. (Imma rag on some of your choices briefly: KP & MoD only satisfy one criteria - chemistry IMHO.

Dear Doctor I’m Coming for Soul (Thailand) - the first one I thought of that satisfies all criteria. Good story, great chemistry, PNR & slow burn. By your friend's accounting, this should be the perfect BL. I'm a fan of this show and I have a full review here BUT I don't actually rec it often. Why? My quibble with DDICFS is that for dyed-in-the-wool BL or romance fans the ending may not satisfy, BUT that seems to be the one thing your friend is NOT - so this should be perfect.

Triage (Thailand) - good chemistry, frustratingly slow burn, def PNR, and good story. This was my second pull. It suffered at the time of airing from distribution issues and (perhaps more sadly) being up against KP. It's really good tho. A “correct the past” Groundhog Day plot, that has narrative baggage I normally do not like but is so clever about time loops, I have to forgive it my hang-ups. About a doctor who must save a boy to fix reality, but not in the usual way. 

Until We Meet Again (Thailand) - GREAT story, decent chemistry, very PNR, but not slow burn. It’s a perfectly executed fated mates reincarnation plot, fantastic well-seeded twists & reveals, and the only BL I would love to see adapted by other countries or read professionally translated. 

Old Fashion Cupcake (Japan) - slow burn, great story & chemistry, no PNR. This is a deceptively simple office romance that actually has a lot to say about life, love, maturity, and pancakes. It’s charming but also deeply moving and loving in its exploration of what it means to give up, and how connection can bring with it second chances. It’s also beautifully filmed and acted. 

Seven Days (Japan) - slow burn, great romance plot, good chemistry, no PNR. This is a pitch perfect elegant little YA romance that stays completely true to its yaoi roots but neatly avoids all the flaws of the genre. The story is deceptively simple but allows for angst and miscommunication to develop with VERY good reason, and is almost worth studying because of that. As a romance, it is elegant. I can see why it got stolen adapted.

1000 Stars (Thailand) - solid romance, very slow burn, okay chemistry, no PNR. All BL is romantic, but not all BL is a modern romance in the literary sense of the term, but 1k* is just that, an absolutely glorious slow burn gay romance that nods at BL but isn’t behooven to it. It’s just a really well executed linear romance story.

HIStory 3: Trapped (Taiwan 2019 Viki) - not PNR and maybe not exactly slow burn but aces everything else. (This was MY KP when it aired.) Taiwan often struggles with story because their BLs aren’t always long enough to really get stuck in, Trapped is different. It has a baby murder investigation that promotes conflict between the leads, so the romantic tension is between plot and character, it’s so smart. The leads did a GREAT job of showcasing mature chemistry. The side dishes in this series are wonderful too. The main couple has an amorphous ending, but like with Dear Doctor, that shouldn't rank under these specific circumstances.

My School President (Thai 2023 YouTube) - great chemistry, very slow burn, okay story, no PNR BUT you have to like YA. I know not everyone does. This is very youthful. GMMTV gave us a classic high school set Thai BL with tropes like messy boys singing their feelings that made this one Love Sick for the modern age with all the gentle sweetness and pining ache, but none of the dated damaging tropes or issues. Yes, we’ve seen it all before, but I still ADORE this. And there is a lot to be said for the classics being executed perfectly. Who let my BL be this wholesome and funny? Possibly too slow burn for some, we wait many eps for that pay out, and Tin's pining is NOT quiet, but it defines dorky and earnest, so when the payout comes? Lovely.

About Youth (Taiwan 2022 Gaga) - exactly the same criteria as MSP just Taiwan's version. A truly lovely little coming of age high school BL with a classic YA low drama but high angst and an earnest depth. I didn’t even mind the singing, and that’s saying a lot. A weak seme/uke dynamic but tons of BL tropes (both rare in a high school setting but common for Taiwan) makes this one feel both sweet and colored by an almost real world queer authenticity and grit. See You After Quarantine? (Taiwan 2021 Viki) - it's short there isn't a ton of story development, but it's a nice nugget introduction to Taiwan's style. Great chemistry, def slow burn, and CUTE. This under-appreciated gem is Taiwan’s answer to Gameboys and is just as charming and adorable yet still quintessentially Taiwanese. It features a Japanese love interest and the cutest most confused disaster gay. Slow burn because the two have almost no actual screen time together and yet manage some truly amazing chemistry. How does Taiwan do it?

Why no KBL?

Fascinating but despite the fact that KBL tends to earn the highest ratings from me and occupies the most slots in my 10/10 BLs of all time, because they are so short they tend to fall... erm... short in the arena of story and slow burn. Also, until recently, not a lot of great chemistry.

So here are a few others I considered but ended up eliminating for not containing enough of your required elements:

He's Coming to Me (Thailand) - review here

Nobleman Ryu’s Wedding (Korea) - this has a 12th Night meet Cinderfella feel to it, plus some great story tricks like a plot that requires a historical setting (I love it when narrative elements are codependent). 

Our Dining Table - It’s a quiet & cozy little parable of found family alleviating loneliness. Possibly too slow for some but definitely high up there for me with the best of what Japan can do, it’s only flaw (if I dare say such a thing) is that it is not really “romantic.” Lovely & sweet but the romance beats are being used to build a family relationship, not just couple intimacy, it’s OK with me, but not totally BL.

Ghost Host Ghost House - if your friend likes horror and culture immersion this might be a winner. Boys shack up with ghosts and each other. The story is weak but everything else is on point and it has some of the best slow burn HOT chemistry ever to hit our screens. No... really. The THIRST is real.

Semantic Error (2022 Viki) - Simple story, no PNR, not slow burn, but for Korea it’s some of the best chemistry the traditional studios have ever managed. It is flawless BL. Truly, perfection for the genre. If your friend doesn't like this, BL is probubly not the right genre. Full review. 

Light on Me - def slow burn but story is a little weak and while there is chemistry, it's not really acted upon. Also v YA and a little stiff. I love this BL unreasonably.

I think skyler has like way worse treatment by her fandom but doesn't suit the competition theme of Yaoi as much n uraraka does butttt skylers treatment is just still so much worse that I'm on the fence. like the only shipping I could see that isn't kind of weird and reaching feeling is Walter White n his meth but. That poll has been haunting me since I posted it. Because you're right. Skyler White is in no way a victim of yaoi. I don't see people fridging her so Walter can with Jesse or Saul or whoever. She's not out of character so Walt can dump her to be with another man. Skyler's treatment is due to plain old misogyny and dudebros wanting to side with Walter on everything. In my opinion, she does not fit the theme of this poll and I was on the fence about even letting her in. Half her submissions mentioned they were kinda joking about it.

Uraraka, on the other hand, is a classic anime victim of yaoi. She's a shounen protagonist's love interest. She probably got five times the submissions of Skyler and is still losing. And it's not because people think Skyler deserves it more. Go look at the post. People are admitting they don't think Skyler fits the theme of this poll, or that Uraraka definitely suffered more, and then they're saying but I'm still voting for Skyler. Thinking about Tav!Abdirak/Gale for a one off thing (I love Gale and Abdirak's respective ships in my canon way too much to commit, but just for fun!) because I think there is something there! Obviously this includes some of my personal headcanons and backstory beats from Tav!Abdirak and might not be applicable to every Abdirak/Gale dynamic but still.

Below the cut! ✌🏾

Abdirak, who is quite adept in enduring pain (including that of the chronic variety) helping Gale cope with the chronic pain caused by his condition and the resulting mental toll.

Gale who bases his worth on what he can do for others having someone who can completely and selflessly take control and attend to his needs could be very cathartic for him.

Abdirak feeling disgust at what Mystra has asked of Gale, but feeling further disturbed at his own hypocrisy and the question that brings up about the nature of what his own goddess asks of him.

They are both pretentious as fuck but about different subjects that the other isn't particularly well versed in. Give them a few months and they'll both be insufferably pretentious about the same things.

Old man yaoi (they aren't actually old but the world has beaten them down so much that they have a head full of grey hair and the spirit of an cynical and exhausted 70 year old)

They are both quite kinky but for reasons of trauma and uncertainty are not ready to jump straight into a proper sexual encounter or begin a relationship.

Abdirak's last lover was also beholden to the callous, "break yourself and do my will for the good of our people" whims of a superior that wound them up discarded and later dead so there is some inherent drama and angst in seeing similar circumstances play out with another lover. Doubly so because this would be the first time he's opened himself up to someone like this since Alois.

If Gale loves watching his lover on the battlefield then he will surely get a kick out of this sweaty, shirtless man gleefully cackling as he whips their foes into submission.

Gale seems to believe his death will benefit others and a part of that also seems to be a longing for his suffering and struggle to come to an end. Tav!Abdirak was once deeply suicidal until he learned to accept and embrace the pain and uncertainty he was feeling and reduce his fear around encountering painful situations so that they would not impede his ability to feel joy. This was aided by having someone (Alois) at his side to help him navigate and to be his crutch when he stumbled so I think he'd be very willing to do the same for Gale.

And lastly (until I inevitably think of something else) Abdirak does not care for material possessions, handing over artifacts to sate Gale's condition does not cause him to hesitate no matter how precious or rare or powerful the item. The only things of great importance to him are his religious weapons, but he can handle loss and sacrifice and would offer them up if need be.

brother crab's winter 2024 parting thoughts: dog signal

alright well yysy it's not much to look at, the animation/art style isn't exactly "modern" or exceptional (though personally i was quite charmed by it)

that aside, this was overall a really pleasant surprise to me!

tl;dr: fun cast with some surprisingly compelling and deep(ish) backstories, would recommend but with the disclaimers that a) it's episodic and b) there's quite a lot of animal mistreatment since each episode is about helping a dog whose person isn't treating it right (most if not all the cases have hopeful endings, but some parts may be hard to watch)

also niwa and samura have the most HILARIOUSLY classic toxic yaoi situationship without any of the fun parts (the actual yaoi), more on that later lmao

full review:

the series is for the most part episodic, with each episode dealing with a dog owner who comes to a certain dog trainer for help. i'm a fan of a good episodic series, even when the episodes can be hit or miss, so the structure was very enjoyable for me

the stories of the main cast were surprisingly compelling, too. it seemed like it would be just a very silly show—what with it starting with a guy (cv knb murasakibara) walking another guy (cv knb kuroko) around on a leash in public for two hours—but the character backstories that were revealed throughout the series did actually feel delightfully nuanced to me

(for example "yeah that old man did hit a dog and that's not great but the dog in question was biting the shit out of the kid he sees as a son so it's not... not understandable that he would react that way and while i'm not saying he should be proud of hitting a dog i guess i am saying it does suck for him that son guy hated him and went no contact for years for it")

one of my favorite episodes, ironically, barely involved the main cast at all. most of the episodes deal with this dog training business training dogs (shock!) but in this one episode, fairly late in the series, the owner was a struggling mangaka suffering from immense social anxiety, whose only friend was his dog who one day suddenly loses his hearing

that's such a tough thing that you really wouldn't explain anyone to know how to handle on their own without training. the mangaka even runs into the mc (trainee dog trainer) early in the episode and receives a business card for the dog training shop, but instead of taking his dog in, he does his best on his own to develop ways to communicate with his newly deaf dog

and it works! not only does he find a way to keep his dog comfortable with him, his efforts make him less concerned with what other people think of him as well. he managed to go to the dog training shop in the end, to see if there's anything he could be doing better for his dog, only to be told that they can't do anything for him—because he's already done everything right

(in establishing a way to communicate with his deaf dog, that is. there are other issues he gets chewed out for, which i really liked and found realistic)

i feel like it was just such a well-timed episode as a narrative device, because it shows that while the main dog trainer is great (the trainee dog trainer mc practically worships him) it's not that everyone in the world is helpless without him

but anyway

REGARDING THE SITUATIONSHIP WHAT THE FUCK LMAO first of all i love it

samura has just been dumped by an extremely shitty girlfriend when he meets niwa, while out walking the dog (or attempting to walk the dog) said shitty girlfriend dumped on him

he's doing a terrifically bad job, to the point where niwa (pro dog trainer) can't bear to watch. so what does he do well of course he has to reeducate samura by... putting him on a leash and walking him around the park, in public, for two hours. to show him just how wrong he's treating his dog

samura somehow gets a job out of this and they start working together. at one point he reveals he is GOING TO THE SALON and GETTING HIS HAIR PERMED so that it is curly because niwa has a poodle and seems to like curly hair (???)

jump cut to the final episode and we're finding out samura's tragic lore—parentified by a narcissistic mom, down with too much filial piety disease. when samura finally decides he's no longer sending money back home, his mom comes to the dog training shop to be like "sir uwu you have to give my son a raise so he can keep sending money home uwu he's such a good hard-working boy please pay him what he's worth"

and niwa is straight up like "actually he sucks and you suck get the fuck out of my shop" AND THEN LATER IN THE EPISODE samura's mom calls him (has been calling him repeatedly since meeting his freak of a boss) and NIWA ANSWERS THE PHONE and while she's complaining about the money situation and the freak boss (niwa) he basically tells her "you still suck and your son still sucks but i'm keeping him, fuck off"

like my god?? that woman is going to go away thinking her son has gotten into an extremely abusive relationship with his boss. i mean fuck her entirely, she does suck, but that is very much Not the situation (even though it does Very Much appear to be the situation)

anyway. ultimately this one lands in the :) category for me, originally picked it up for the cast (kuroko and mukkun and also KENN) and didn't have very high expectations but am thrilled to be pleasantly surprised

Why do you think the writing of female characters in Helluva Boss is misogynistic?

Misogyny is one of the oldest forms of bigotry, and thus nobody can escape being misogynistic. Even feminists can fall into misogyny because it is baked into society.

This is further shown with media and how it handles female characters. A show having a female director doesn't save it from perpetuating harmful tropes. That's why one has to be critical of the things they write and why they write them.

The level of misogyny between a media is what I like to call Hard Misogyny and Soft misogyny.

Hard Misogyny is more overt misogyny. Female characters are often reduced to objects of sexualization, or hatred. Thrown to the side for the sake of men's stories. Are depicted suffering great violence in graphic detail, for the sake of fan service. The author actively refuses to break away from misogynistic tropes.

Ex: Beserk, Naruto, Goblin Slayer. (My hero academia is a more complicated case)

Soft misogyny is when an author doesn't detest their female characters but still puts them in boxes, in the way they don't do to their male characters. And restricts their stories to a minimum.

Ex: Spy x Family (more complicated case), My Hero academia.

Helluva boss falls into both, almost a perfect middle. In season 1, the female characters are reduced to either gags or support systems for the male characters. Millie is only their to be an accessory to Moxie's story. As Moxxie gets to have development establishing himself in the team. Stand up for himself against Millie's parents and have a great scene between him and Blitzo. Millie on the other hand? She exists,she fights, and she loves Moxie.

Loona ,in the first season, is only their to get angry, fight, date a guy maybe, make jokes about her being furry bait and what else? That's pretty much it. (We'll get to season 2)

The other female characters follow the same routine. They either supportive, get mad and fight. Or enemies who get mad and fight.

Verosika could have an interesting conflict but with how the writers keep excusing and wobifying Blitzo and Stolas, I don't expect much.

The only true developed one is Octavia who at least gets one episode to her turmoil and one small scene for the other.

But that's ONE developed female character compared to:

Blitzo, Moxxie, Stolas, Fizzarolli, Striker.

Now to the controversial one:

Stella could have been a fantastic villain. And I mean it.

At first she is posed as distant wife who is outraged when she finds out her husband cheated with an Imp. Then she orders an assassin to kill him.

Her set up is fantastic and makes Stolas a far more interesting character as well.

Stolas being a man who feels lonely in his marriage, cheats and then looses everything over it is great! And the fact that his wife is mad, not because he cheated, but because it was with an Imp, is a great set up for complexity and conflict.

Fandoms often complain that too many female villains are being written sympathetically yet this argument is never directed at the mountains of male characters who get forgiven for everything.

Even when a female character is not a villain she will be demonized for less.

Ex: Katara from Avatar, compared to Zuko.

Instead of expanding on this conflict, season 2 decided to double down and make Stella the most tired trope of female antagonist. One that felt ripped out of a yaoi manga.

She's cartoonishly evil and not in a fun way. Stolas' actions are diminished for the sake of justifying his cheating. And in turn make him a far less interesting character.

And just blatantly contradicting the initial set up of season 1.

This trope of painting woman who get cheated on as devils in disguise is a trope as old as time.

I wanted another Fizzerolli, instead I got bargain bin Regina George.

Another controversial point:

Loona is also made abusive but painted as a joke. Why?

Loona was annoyed by Blitzo in season 1, but she was never violent towards him. She only snarled when he didn't respect her personal space. But that was pretty much it.

But in season 2? They made her violent for reason. Difference between her and Stella? She is the furry bait the fandom can drool over.

She beats up Blitzo for him simply setting a boundary, kicks him in the nuts for no reason and its all seen as a funny little quirk.

This episode could have been about exploring Octavia and Loona's characters. Instead it got overshadow by Blitzo and Stolas' bs.

Their is a reoccurring pattern of making every female character incredibly violent for the reason of either demonizing and turning them into flat characters or... I actually have no explanation for Lonna. What was that?

The fandom's refusal to see the misogyny for what it is, is not surprising but still disappointing. Even a r*pist (Valentino) gets more sympathy than Stella.

I know it goes against the whole purpose of fmbh, but I REALLY want to see Luke getting his divorce from Aemond after suffering for a decade and then marrying someone fun and easy like Addam or Benjicot or Alysanne Blackwood. I want to see him immediately having children just to spite Alicent and Aemond. I think Luke is so tragic in this because he obviously wants to be a parent but loses a lot of time due to Viserys selfishness and Aemond’s…everything. Then instead of 40yo Luke and Aemond, we get 60yo widower Luke with 30yo children and Laena being super protective. (In this scenario Luke still names Laena his heir oc). Old man yaoi!

Ugh Luke and Addam, my loves. I have such a sweet spot for those two when they’ve together. Mainly because they just understand one another on a level no one else outside of their respective siblings can. Being illegitimate, having a connection to Corlys and to Driftmark as a whole, and that constant need to prove themselves worthy. I

Addam is sweet, loyal, and strives to be the best version of himself he can. I can absolutely see him sweeping in and stealing Luke’s heart, experiencing outwards love for the first time in years. They truly complete each other and everyone can see it from off jump. Perhaps Laena will even fall for one of the cousins she grows up alongside so the two families will always be united by blood.

He’s a total loser he’s miserable he’s sweaty he’s alcoholic he can only sleep on hard floor he got hit as a kid but tried his damndnest to control himself around hw. I want him broken in a way only a man insecure about his masculinity can. I focus on sex so much in him as a man because it’s the one of the only negative absences in the film. Plus it’s literallly the only thing he wants— undeniable blood ties . Too bad no bitches want him even if I try to pimp him out.

If we’re talking the great mr day Lewis. It’s a stretch to say I feel kinship . But his loneliness as a darling prince and his suicide attempt and his tenuous relationships is as dramatic as a novella character . It’s so easy to romanticize him . Apparently pTa says he’s a great humorous conversationalist but in interviews he’s quite tight lipped. Idk idk I want a distant and cold father I want to be in close vicinity I want to feel bitter I want to be absolutely deluded …he’s an old school dandy and with his death his species will entirely die out. What I want in him is that absolute self dedication to destroy himselbes in the process for art. I want that old school moth to the flame stubbornness. God I just love the fact he has talent and still works the fuckinf hardest. What a model son. I love how freaky he is. Refusing modern medicine after getting pneumonia by refusing the modern warm coat for filming. He brings all this unessecary suffering upon himself it’s like siddarhta in the beginning of his journey to nirvana. Feels like a thing of the past where a person drives themselves to a nervous breakdown over aganozinf years just to perfect something nobody really even cares about . Give me one snippet and I can spin an Oedipal fantasy .

Battler -> Disturbed yet impressed by his resolve to grope cousin tit. And Beato's too, I guess. I enjoy seeing him succeed and I enjoy seeing him suffer. I too would chain him up like she did

Beatrice -> I actually care about the witch plot far less than the murder plot since at my core I loathe fantasy. Part of me is giddy that the main schtick of umineko is "deny the witch". Red truth is an interesting mechanic. Anyway, she's hilarious and Battler is incompetant

George -> He's fine. Him and Shannon are a cute couple

Jessica -> I love her but the thing with Kanon was NOT it. Girl you deserve better. Eldest daughter troubles are no joke. I think a lot of her more 'masculine' speech patterns are lost in translation though, so when Natsuhi gets pissy at her I just get irrationally annoyed. Great VA

Maria -> Best fucking character I don't care she's my everything. Really wanna see where her witch thing goes. She's got that autistic + mommy issues + 'weird' stimming realness idcccccc she's got that unnerving girl swag and i'm keeping her in my pocket. VA has great range

Kinzo -> what is wrong with this guy

Krauss -> Boring, ugly, hope he dies forever

Eva -> What an individual. I have to condemn the shit she pulls but you gotta admit she served

Rudolf -> No opinion. Still wondering what stunt he pulled to cause so much animosity between him and Battler

Rosa -> Like I hate her because she beats her clearly autistic child and... okay that's mostly it. But damn do I feel bad for her. Girl you're KILLING IT at the perpetual cycle! I liked the ep 2 tea party mostly because it was torturing her. I mean she's a piece of shit but I enjoy seeing her on screen. VA is stellar

Something I hate about the Naruto fandom is probably how much they erase the Uchiha suffering and how some of them always are portrayed as the funny emo who live for the sake of another character (like Hashirama/Madara, Obito/Kakashi, Sasuke/Naruto).

For example, Madara's case, where we never got to see his side of the story (only Hashirama's view because as usual the Senju can do no wrong so only showing the Uchiha clan killing a kid and ignoring the 3 other brothers of Madara was the right thing to do). Well, at this point of the story, Madara already lost 3 of his younger brothers, and we can assume only assume most members of his clan were killed by the Senju clan too. So, the only thing Madara wants at this moment of the story is to stop fighting and protect the only brother he got left with.  Basically, Madara's life is bad even if he found a friend in Hashirama because after all, no one can replace his brothers, even a kid with the "same" dream. So now my question is, why do most of the fandom treats Madara as Hashirama's whore? I'm not even joking, why do people erase Madara's all suffering and life only for him to be some type of yandere schoolgirl for Hashirama? Certainly, I can't say Madara hates Hashirama, they show signs of liking each other but why make it Madara's only personality trait?

Izuna died at the hands of Tobirama, the younger brother of Hashirama. The Senju hate the Uchiha, Tobirama hate Madara and Hashirama couldn't choose Madara over his brother, so why Madara should have chosen a village that clearly hates him (despite being one of the founders and the one who named it)? Hashirama tells him to be the Hokage, to view to villagers as his brothers (as if some strangers could replace the blood relatives you lived with but whatever), only to take it back from him, turning his clan against him, leaving him alone.  Hashirama didn't fight that much to actually make Madara the Hokage, he actually just go along with his younger brother's decision because he what? Ah yes, because he notices Madara was spying on them while his brother was calling him and his clan evil with no real evidence. The Uchiha have always lived far from others because everyone kept making rumors about them and guess who kept on pushing on those nasty gossip about them? Tobirama did. Tobirama didn't even try to see if those were real, he keeps agreeing with them, and Hashirama didn't even do shit about it. I'm sorry but none of the two of them actually care for the Uchiha. Hashirama was selfish, wanting to see Madara and his younger brother getting along because he didn't want to hurt one of them. When Izuna was stabbed to death, Madara had all the right to fucking lost his mind. Izuna gave willingly his eyes for the better of the clan because he loves them, he wanted peace for them. And despite that, everyone still talks about Izuna like he's some dumbass brat for not accepting Hashirama's offer (here's a really good post about why Izuna was right to decline Hashirama's offer). Right now I'm talking about Madara and Izuna but I could be talking about how everyone calls Sasuke a crybaby because he saw his whole clan being murdered by his older brother, how a pathetic village made a 13 years old child killed his own clan and parents, how some old bastard man stole and bullied a kid, making him killed himself, and there's more.

And actually, the same goes with Izuna and his death, suddenly everyone start saying it was okay because they were at war and Tobirama had all the right to be mad at Izuna because the Uchiha killed two of his brothers. But what about Madara? What about Izuna, who actually falls on the same treatment as his older brother as being painted as Tobirama's cute little wife by the fandom? Why the Uchiha clan is used as yaoi characters by the fandom? Madara and Izuna had all the rights in the world to be mad at the Senju too, they lost brothers, family, comrades at the hands of the Senju.

Madara saw it all coming. When he asked Hashirama where did he go wrong, it seriously annoyed the shit out of me because Hashirama and Tobirama carry that dumb brainwashing legacy that is the will of fire, turning kids into perfect little soldiers for the village and no one ever saw a problem with that.

Madara is way more than just Hashirama's friend, all the Uchiha are much more than what the fandom portrays them.

I didn't plan to make some post about it but when I saw shit like this, it gave me headaches.
