On a slightly more serious note, I just wanna post this before the final entry, not counting the epilogue. I’m so, so thankful for Dracula Daily. It’s been an absolute blast beginning to end, reading discourse, seeing the jokes and memes and all the art, reading theories and reactions. And getting to be apart of that! Reading this book again in this format was a hell of an experience but the fact that I didn’t do it alone, I don’t know. We’ve all gotten to experience this book in a new way in real time together. I love that. And I hope that it won’t be just a one-off event, either. And even if it is? But this? It’s been wonderful. So, thank you to everyone for collectively going nuts over a 130 year old novel. Thank you for posting and making those artworks and memes and analyses. Reminds you you’re human and not stuck and alone.

lewis being interview by margot laffite for canal+ at the qatar gp '23
I act like a kid all the time. I’m not embarrassed about it; I love having fun. So that’s why, you know, I’m always skydiving, surfing or I’m skiing or I’m riding my bike or whatever might be, that’s me being a kid. And that’s something I refuse to ever let go.
transcript below :-)
So Lewis. I don't want today to talk about the World champion, the Formula 1 driver, I would like to talk about Lewis Carl Davidson Hamilton, if you don’t mind. Can you describe the kind of kid you were at home and at school? What kind of kid were you?
[Smiling] Did you ever had a show called Dennis the Menace?
Oh yes of course.
You did?
Of that kind, yeah. Denis la Malice.
I was like Dennis the Menace 2.0. [laughs] I was climbing trees, I was just always riding my bike down the fastest hill. Naturally super competitive in everything that I did and, uhm, my dad helped me concentrate that energy into racing and that’s where stability came.
We know you were a huge fan of Ayrton Senna, but did you watch like every single F1 race, documentaries about F1?
No, when I was a kid I only watched documentaries on Ayrton Senna, read his books. Anything to do with Ayrton I would have it, whether it was a coffee mug or, not that I drink coffee as a kid, but I was watching Gran Prix from like since I was like 4 with my dad on the weekends. Yeah, Sunday sitting with my dad watching races was one of the best times, I remember.
If you could go back in time, where and when would it be?
It would probably be when I was living with my mum, before I was 8, so, yeah.
You are running the world so, how difficult is it to build friendships?
Yeah, it’s definitely not the easiest I would say. My two closest friends are from school, yeah, they are my brothers. Places where I’ve found good friendships are obviously on my job, and then when I’m doing music, when I’m working with musicians, it’s just like a different realm and there I’ve built some incredible relationships also.
What does being a grown up mean to you? Is it like tiresome to be more conscious of the impact you have on things and people, rather than the pleasant innocence of being a child?
I act like a kid all the time. I’m not embarrassed about it; I love having fun. So that’s why, you know, I’m always skydiving, surfing or I’m skiing or I’m riding my bike or whatever might be, that’s me being a kid. And that’s something I refuse to ever let go.
When you play a game with some children, maybe your family, nieces and nephews, do you let them win?
No, I try to win! I just [laughs] and they are good, they are getting good, so I have to get my wins while I can. But, my dad never let me win anything when I was a kid. I think is good to learn how to lose anyways, so [laughs]
Are you always on time or sometimes you’re late?
No, I’m always late. The only time I’m ever on time is when I’m getting in the car to race. But like if I’m going for a flight, I’m always late. I don’t know, I like the limit, yeah. [jokingly] I like getting there around the limit, I like the rush.
What are your thoughts and feelings about Max Verstappen? The man he is, the kind of champion.
He’s done an exceptional job. I think the team has done an amazing job. Collectively they truly deserve the success. Max has been faultless this year, he’s not made any mistakes. I only hope that there’s a time when I’ll be able to put up a fight for him.
When you quit F1 would you still want race like Dakar or the 24 Hours of Le Mans?
I currently don't really have any, like, zero, like, feelings to do those things. I love motorbikes, I’ve always loved Moto GP, still love it today. I have 2 super bikes. I think I probably always just gonna take my bikes out. I won’t compete professionally in anything ever again. It takes 10,000 hours to be, you know, a master of something else. I wanna spend that 10,000 hours on being the best dad or something like that, you know, or running my businesses in the best way I can. Where all my energy and focus will go to. For now, I’ll continue to skydive, I’ll continue to surf, those are probably the, riding the bikes, surfing and skydiving, those are the 3 fun things that I’ll make sure I always do.
Merci Beaucoup, Lewis.
Merci.
It was a pleasure as always. Thank you.

Today we are excited to bring you the second part to our rec list of exes to lovers fics. You can find the first part to this rec list here. Please note that in some of these fics, they’re broken up before the story begins, and in some of these fics, they break up over the course of the story and then reunite. Happy reading!
1) The Prints Of Your Hands Are Still On My Canvas | Explicit | 4,563 words
Harry and Louis broke up not long ago. Everything was fine until then, problems started with Louis’ heat just around the corner, an important presentation that he could not miss, and a very visible (or more like invisible) alpha that could help him go through his heat. And then Harry shows up. (Again.)
2) Unspoken | Explicit | 5,175 words
Harry and Louis broke up when they were nineteen. They see each other after six years.
3) The Writing On the Wall | Explicit | 6,705 words
When BookToker Louis receives a gift basket filled with all his favorite sweets, wines, and stuffed animals alongside the new Harry Styles book, he’s shocked at the story he finds in the pages.
4) Can I Stand In Your Light, Just For A While? | Mature | 11,875 words
“But like, if they offered you that much money it means they really really want your works.” Niall continued. “I mean I guess, I still don’t get why,” he shrugged. “It's because you’re an amazing artist Lou.” Niall squeezed Louis’ arm. “Also, maybe the CEO guy has some sort of crush on you, and that's why.” “I really hope that's not true.” The man paid for his tomatoes and put them into his tote bag. “Why? Is the guy ugly? Bald?” Niall babbled. “No, Niall…” “Old? I bet he’s old.” “Niall! It's Harry, he’s the CEO guy.” Louis sighed. “What?!” Niall shrieked, probably startling the whole block.
5) Wedding Bells Will Never Ring For Me | Explicit | 14,807 words
After a failed proposal a few years back, Louis gets an unexpected invitation to his ex - Harry’s – wedding.
6) Nothing’s Scarier Than Losing You | Explicit | 15,463 words

7) How You Sleep At Night | Mature | 15,568 words
“-And…this is Louis.” And just that. ‘This is Louis.’ Louis feels like throwing up out of nowhere. So, that’s it then? Is he just a ‘Louis’ to him now?
8) Silk Chiffon | Explicit | 20,122 words
Louis gets a message from his ex making fun of him for pretending to know how to cook on Instagram. They settle on a simple bet, Louis had to be Harry's perfect little housewife for an entire month.
9) Under The Rain Or Under The Snow | Explicit | 20,667 words
Christmas AU where they broke up a month ago but Harry shows up at Louis’ childhood home for the holidays. Louis didn’t tell his mum about their breakup so staying with them is not ideal. Harry stays.
10) My Waves Meet Your Shore | Mature | 23,873 words
When Louis gets an email from his ex - Harry - it shouldn't surprise him as much as it does; they're parents now and it isn't rare to communicate with each other. But this? He wasn't expecting it at all.
11) Your Heart Is Dangled In Front Of Me | Explicit | 27,085 words
Harry Styles prides himself in being one of the best detectives in The 28th Precinct. But if there’s one case he can’t solve, it’s his marriage. At least not on his own. Joining forces with his five-year-old son and a free-spirited murderer-on-trial, Harry does whatever it takes to bring Louis back.
12) Somebody's Got Your Trainers On (It's You) | Explicit | 28,000 words
Louis hasn't thought about Harry since half an hour after the shift started, when Krystle told him that she was binging Gogglebox last night and therefore didn't get enough sleep - a sure reminder of Harry’s temporary Gogglebox obsession. Five hours isn't much without thinking about someone, but that's as long as it gets. Louis came to terms with that two years ago. When Harry walked out the door with his stupid New Balance trainers and never looked back.
13) Last Blues For Bloody Knuckles | Explicit | 34,293 words
Styles was a name everyone knew. It had evolved into something of a fairy tale, a far away problem that normal people didn’t have to deal with. Louis never thought he’d find himself falling in love with him. When he finds himself pregnant with Harry’s child, he knows he has to leave the life, and Harry, behind. For her sake. He never expected Harry to show back up on his doorstep five years later.
14) The Wounds That Scarred Our Souls | Explicit | 35,910 words
Forever was nothing but a lie, Forever was just a ruse for the human heart, it gave you hope and then killed you. Forever was just a myth.
15) Stay Until Tomorrow | Explicit | 36,766 words
There’s a dull ache seeping through Louis’ body as he wakes up; a mild headache from last night’s alcohol intake, a cramp in his right arm from sleeping on it weird and a familiar soreness between his arse cheeks that Louis fully blames on his lousy one night stand.
16) Borrow The Moonlight | Explicit | 37,738 words
Louis and Harry broke up three years ago. The last thing Louis expects to see when he’s sent to help a guest is Harry, 3000 miles away from where he’s supposed to be.
17) The Space Between | Explicit | 39,917 words
Harry Styles is the alpha rockstar who can’t sleep and doesn’t know why. Louis Tomlinson is the omega PhD student who helps him figure it out.
18) Just A Flicker In The Dark | Explicit | 57,204 words
Louis is a struggling witch desperate to prove himself after yet another magic disaster and finds a calling in the haunted house of client Niall Horan. Things get more complicated when he’s assigned a case partner: acclaimed medium and ex-boyfriend, Harry S
19) Dark Doom, Honey | Explicit | 57,801 words
Note: There is also an AU version of this fic, which is also an exes to lovers fic.
Louis lifted one shoulder, lips slightly pursed. “You are acting like an asshole.” Harry’s mouth pressed into a thin line, eyebrows knitting together. “I wasn’t being an asshole, I was following my own rules. The ones I always follow when I’m about to start an arrangement with a new submissive. If you don’t want this or are having doubts, we should stop now. But if we do this, I do want to make something clear, I’ll never do anything you don’t want to, but you have to be aware that I’ll never be sweet, I don’t do sweet, you already saw what I do. If you want something different you can go on dates, this is not that. Are we clear?” It was the perfect way out. Louis could simply say no and their lives would keep on going as they were. So far, nothing was changed beyond repair. But he wanted to be. At some point in his life, way before Harry and the betrayals, Louis lost a little of himself, and had never felt closer to getting it back than in Lair, with Harry. “Crystal.”
20) Men of Steel, Men of Power | Explicit | 58,849 words
“You’ve been watching me,” Styles said. Louis swallowed around nothing. He tried for light. “You’re the newest addition, people are bound to be curious,” he said. “Sure,” said Styles, in a somewhat condescending tone. “I’m not that daft, I do notice the curiosity regarding my clothes. That’s not what you’re doing though, hm?” Styles’ gaze was intense, and Louis could feel it burn on the side of his face, but kept his eyes stubbornly on the coffee cup. “I,” he said, licked his lips. Took a deep breath, tried to look open, confident, dominant. Alpha.
21) It’s Golden, Like Daylight | Explicit | 61,496 words
"I actually think you might be onto something.” Harry’s eyes widened. “You mean…” Louis nodded. “As crazy and insane as this, this might just solve both of our problems.” “Are you saying you’re in?” Harry asked. “I’m in.”
22) Feeling Borrowed, Always Blue | Explicit | 68,214 words
Louis has been dreaming of his wedding since he was young - he just never expected it to happen like this. words

When he arrives to the Tomlinson castle, he finds the forbidden North wing holds that which the family has worked hard to keep secret. Mainly: the sickly sweet Prince Louis, who’s rare gender has forced his family to keep him locked away for his own protection.
24) Sink Into Your Sunlight | Explicit | 79,562 words
In the grand scheme of things Louis did believe in love, what he didn’t believe was that he would ever find it in his life time for himself. Low and behold he would find it with someone he didn’t anticipate, now it was just a matter of having it work out the way he dreamed of.
25) Halfway Home | Mature | 103,158 words
Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson were improbable childhood friends, much to Harry’s dismay. They were thrown together each summer when Harry was forced to visit Louis’ grandfathers’ ranch in Black Hills, South Dakota. With each passing year, their friendship blossomed into something more. When trail rides turned to stolen kisses, and tragedies turned to confessions until they could no longer deny the inevitable draw they felt for one another. Though life and their future plans soon set them on different paths. Ten years later, Louis is the proud owner of Halfway Home Wildlife Refuge. Harry returns to the ranch to escape the perils of his past in London, and though their memories still haunt Louis, he won’t let that deter him from his goals. However, someone has been keeping a close eye on the refuge, and possibly Louis specifically, and Harry’s return may have unleashed more than just old passions. There’s a hunter lurking in the Hills, someone who’s decided they’ve bided their time long enough.

Johnny Boy Part 3 (werewolf!Soap x reader)
Johnny meets his daughter, part one is here
Once upon a time, you would've done anything for John Mctavish. He had been your older brother's cool best friend, and you were always desperate for him to see you as more--until one fateful night that ends up with you pregnant and him...gone. Fast forward six years and you've made a good life for yourself with your daughter Emma, with Johnny none the wiser. Until he decides to knock on your door.
Part 3
Johnny knocked on the door at 8:15, carrying two pounds of bacon and a book about whales.
The bastard. Tom must have told him that whales were Emma’s weakness.
“Hi, Kitty,” Johnny said, smiling. He twitched like he wanted to lean in and kiss your cheek, but managed to restrain himself.
“John,” you said. You were dressed more appropriately this time, a Black Sabbath tee and sweats, your work clothes of pencil skirts, trousers, and wool sweaters currently drying on the laundry lines in the backyard.
Emma touched the back of your leg, peering out at Johnny with a kind of fascinated dislike. “You’re taller than I thought you were,” she said, her tone disapproving.
You smiled then, suddenly full of warm affection for your daughter. “Let the man come inside, bear, it’s freezing out there.”
Johnny stepped inside your house and something inside of you clenched, forcing yourself to step back and allow Johnny his moment with your daughter.
They looked at each other. Father to daughter, their eyes so alike, their hair the same color, all the missing pieces falling into place.
Johnny crouched, going eye-level with her. “Hi, Emma,” he said, his voice hoarse as he attempted to smile. “My name’s Johnny.” Emma smiled, her first missing tooth winking at him.
You looked away. And so it began.
Within an hour she was perched up in his lap, prattling about whales and her friends from school. “Ms. Thornton said we had to make it out of paper maché and the best whale would win a prize. So Mum stayed up with me all night making the biggest blue whale, with a spout’n tail’n everything.” Johnny was captivated, his eyes brighter than you had ever seen them, his accent tangling his words even thicker than usual. “Aye? Did you win then?”
“Of course, we have ‘im hung up in the living room with little strings, right next to Grandpa Jack’s chair.” It was true. A paper mache blue whale hung from your ceiling in the place of honor, a tiny Christmas hat perched on his head for the upcoming holidays.
You had to look away from them, focusing on pouring Emma her usual glass of milk and Johnny a coffee. He despised tea.
“Drink,” you said, pushing the glass towards her. “It’s good for your brain.” Emma two-handed it, just like you tell her to. It seemed she was trying to be on her best behavior, the little traitor. “How’d you know it’s good for my brain?” She asked, sniffing Johnny’s coffee as you placed it before him.
“Thank you,” he said quietly, trying to meet your eyes but failing when you turned back to their breakfast, a mess of eggs and bacon and raw deer. “I looked it up on the internet, bear. Good fats are good for your brain.” “That’s what she says when she wants me to eat something, Johnny,” Emma said. “That it’s good for my brain. She’s always reading books on what to feed me so I can get taller.”
“I was an itty-bitty sprite when I was your age, lass, I’m sure it’ll kick in with a few more years,” Johnny said, his hand stroking her soft hair as if he couldn’t believe she was real.
It went on like this until you put food in front of them, taking a seat across from Emma with your coffee and toast. You were never hungry this early, mostly because you were usually handling raw liver or beef tongue at eight in the morning and that sent your appetite right down the drain.
Johnny noticed. “Not even gonna have bacon, kitty?” “She never eats breakfast,” Emma the tattletale said, spooning up a bit of deer. “She doesn’t like anything raw.” Johnny smiled, as if remembering some fond memory. “She was always a wee bit squeamish, your ma.”
You didn’t dignify that with a response, scraping a pat of butter over your toast.
It dragged on longer than you had planned, Johnny standing to help you clear away the plates while Emma yawned, blinking sleepily at the couch in the living room. She was past the age of scheduled naps but on the weekends you were lax with her, letting her pass out on the sofa while you caught up on work or reading.
Johnny seemed to understand that he was overstaying his welcome, though his eyes followed your daughter in that wide-eyed yearning look that got him anything he wanted when you were children. “Right then, Emma,” he said, ruffling her hair. “I’ll leave you to a nap, yeah?” “What are you gonna do all day, Johnny?” Emma asked, already curling up in her favorite woolen blanket.
Johnny shrugged, brushing her cheek with his thumb. “I dunno, lass. I’m off work for the month.” “You should go to the park,” Emma said sleepily. “The park’s nice. Mum likes to read there.” “That’s a grand idea, lass,” he said gently. “It was lovely t’meet you, Emma.” She mumbled something else, tucking her nose deeper into the blankets as she began to snore. Something in your chest squeezed when Johnny tucked the blanket around Emma’s skinny arms, more gentle than you had ever seen him.
He looked at you then, his eyes all blue and warm. “Thank ye, kitty.”
You nodded. “You’re welcome. But you should go now.” You didn’t want him to linger, didn’t want him in your house while Emma was asleep, because that meant his attention was on you.
Johnny stood, towering over you. “Of course, kitty.”
You walked him to the door, your arms crossed protectively over your chest.
He paused on the doorstep. “Can I…Can I come again?” You had to bite your tongue to stop yourself from saying no, to stop this cycle before it began. You didn’t want Emma getting used to a father that was gone eighty percent of the year.
Johnny gripped the porch, as if preparing himself for your refusal. It was that gesture that made you sigh, looking out at the empty, icy street.
“Tomorrow. I walk her home from school on my lunch break from work to Juliene’s house,” you pointed out a red brick cottage with sweet-faced woman gardening in the front. “She’s a godsend, she watches her until five now that Jack…Jack’s gone. Then I get home from work and make supper. Come then.” Meals would be easier, there was something for you to do while Johnny spent time with Emma, so you wouldn’t have to look at him constantly proving your teenage dreams right of him being a good father.
Johnny smiled, just like he used to, all teeth and excitement. “I don’t know how to tell ye how much this means t’me,” he said, stepping into your space again. You wondered how long he had been without human interactions for him to ignore societal rules like personal space.
“I don’t deserve the chance you’ve given me, kitty,” Johnny said, the warmth of his body so close to yours oppressive. “God knows we have some unresolved words between us, but you’re the best mother I could’ve hoped for, considering that she’s…well, she’s like me.”
Johnny was raised by a human mother that treated him vaguely like a lapdog. Susan didn’t know what to do with a little boy that chewed on the furniture and got sick when she didn’t let him eat raw meat.
It took Susan a long time to see the error in her ways, but still. You don’t let her watch Emma.
“I would be a monster to keep her from you,” you said dully, stepping back to regain your space. “She was already waiting for you.” Something shifted in his eyes. You didn’t like that look, it was the dark, possessive look he would give other kids whenever they tried to tease Tommy and you out of playing with him.
Call it paranoia, but it seemed like he was already thinking of your little family as his.
***
Emma waited for you next to the school doors, wearing a Winnie-the-Pooh sweater and her favorite dark blue jeans. Her friend Sasha was beside her, playing dolls with the little yarn princesses you had gotten them both last Christmas.
“Girls,” you greeted, smiling. “Sasha, are you walking home with us today?” Emma flew into your arms with a yip, barely restraining herself from licking your face.
It had taken a few years but she eventually learned that licking people’s faces, even her mother’s, was bad manners and generally unpleasant for the person involved.
Sasha nodded, “Mum asked me to ask if you would. Daddy wouldn’t leave work.” Sasha was another case of a single mother and deadbeat father, and you had told her mother that you were willing to help with her any way you could. After all, it took a village for you to get stable with Emma, it’s worse when you don’t have anyone at all.
“C’mon, then,” you said, digging into your purse. “I brought snacks.”
Sasha and Emma brightened at the sight of two paper-wrapped biscuits, guilt-gifts from Tommy.
The library was only a short walk to her school, and your home was only a short walk to the library, so you had just given up on the expense of having a car, borrowing Tom’s whenever you needed to drive to the city. You ushered the girls onto the sidewalk, making each of them hold your hand.
“Tell me about your day, girls,” you said. “What did you learn?”
That began a river of chatter that you could get comfortably lost in, tales of poem books and origami and cheese sandwiches for lunch.
You liked Sasha, she was a sweet girl that didn’t mind your daughter’s wolfish tendencies, and they had been friends for practically half their lives. Sasha made you think about one day having another kid, maybe with a husband and a bigger house.
The thought was easier when Johnny wasn’t around. He wouldn’t like any other man acting like a father to Emma, though you doubted it would bother him if you found a man to marry. He probably spent the majority of his leave at bars with pretty, childless women, while you were just a slightly sour memory of the girl he knew growing up.
And Johnny would be gone soon. A month, he had said? You doubted it, they always called him back earlier.
“Is Johnny coming back?” Emma asked, breaking you out of your thoughts. Sasha smiled at her–they had obviously discussed the mysterious appearance of Emma’s father.
“Yes,” you said. “He’s going to have dinner with us tonight.” “Is he your boyfriend?” Sasha asked curiously. “My mum has a new boyfriend.” The thought of dating Johnny made you want to vomit. “No, of course not,” you said quickly, before the idea could take root in Emma. “He’s Emma’s father, and honestly, we don’t know each other very well anymore. He’s just here to spend time with you, bear.” Sasha clearly didn’t believe you, while Emma just nodded distantly, the cogs in her little brain churning.
You dropped Sasha off at her mother Lisa’s bakery. Lisa waved, mouthing thank you.
“Did you like Johnny once?” Emma asked. “Like how Judy likes Tobin in school?” And there it was. Emma was not going to let this go.
“Once,” you said. “But then he left for a long time. We don’t like each other like that anymore, bear, he’s just here for you.” That disappointed her, and you hated disappointing her. She had probably built up an image of having a mother and a father, happy and in love just like the movies.
“Oh, come on, bear,” you said, squeezing your shoulder. “You get to see him tonight, and maybe if you ask nicely I’ll stop at the store on my way home for ice cream.” That cheered her up a bit. Just like Johnny, she had a raging sweet tooth.

Random Thought of the day. (This actually could be a Short story, but I’ll label it as a headcannon) pre agggtm.
The Quiet Affections of Pippa Fitz Amobi (HeadCannons)
Tumblr media
Paring: Pippa Fitz Amobi x fem reader
Warnings: fluff, heart melting fluff, stomach inducing fluff🤭
Pipa Fitz Amobi is a cuddler. You wouldn’t think it just from knowing her, but as soon as you two become girlfriends, and she’s completely smitten by you, she lets her walls down. She’s always the first one to initiate physical contact. It first happened at one of Josh’s football games. You had been a favorite of his lately, he adored you. “To pieces” as Leanne put it. Growing up you had a lot of siblings, so you were use to children, and you had first met Pip when your mother had inadvertently signed you up to be Josh’s baby sister in grade 8.
“Oh just this once love! Please!! The Amboi’s would be just so appreciative if you did! And you can make some pocket money! How does a nice fiver sound?” Of course you didn’t care a whit for the money. So you had agreed, taking your homework with you. You had known the Amboi’s for years, had seen them around town. You knew Pip from school, but you never spoke. You were to shy, and your schedules were always busy. Never synchronized enough to have a chat. But you knew she was kind, studious, always getting the highest marks in her year.
Josh had been overjoyed to see you, taking you by the hand as soon as soon as you had darkened the door, books in hand. He simply eyed you with his brown eyes, his brow squinting, “oh not another homework girl!” He whined, “all my sister does is homework! Are you going to do that all night too?”.
You chuckled, putting your books on the Amboi’s kitchen table, you leaned down so you were eye level with Josh, your eyes serious, “I may not know your sister as well as her friends, or you, but I do know she’s very intelligent, especially at schoolwork. Don’t you want to be good at schoolwork?”. Josh seemed to think before shaking his head, “Miss says my homework is atrocious! What does that mean?”.
You hid your smile, “I think it means you need a little more work”. Pip had come home well into the evening, you noticed because you had seen Cara Ward’s big sister drop her of. You liked the Wards, they were comical and always made you laugh, even if not on purpose. Pip at first had been surprised to see you, stopping in her tracks as she opened the front door, “mum! Can Cara sleepover on Friday?” She announced into the air, cheeks red when she found you looking up at her from the Amboi’s couch. Your cheeks red, smile wide.
You lifted your book in your hands, “Not mum sorry to disappoint” you had joked. Pip’s cheeks had turned a shade of crimson, she had shaken her head, a few embarrassed laughs falling of her lips. “Sorry, I just wasn’t expecting you to be here in my living room. Did Flora Cancel? Mum didn’t tell me she and dad were going out” Pipa stated, walking over and sitting across from you, blue watercolored eyes undoing her laces of her trainers. You shook your head, “I’m not sure about Flora, mum basically hired me for the job, apparently your mum thinks highly of me when it comes to children” you spoke, eyebrows lifted up as you turned the page on your book, “not sure why”.
You noticed Pip’s eyes had become trained on your book, a small smile perched on her lips. “Is that Great Expectations? I’ve tried to get Cara to read it with me but she just calls it “Newer Shakespeare”.
From then on you had been more accepting of babysitting Josh, Pipa would sit with you after you had put Josh to bed, eyes alight as you told her where you were in the book, how you felt about what was going on, how Charles Dickens had a way with words. She listened, attentively. At school you were more inclined to smile at her as you passed in the corridors. Pip had even gone so far as to find you in the library, “I just thought you’d like this book, it’s an Agatha Christie. It’s a first edition copy, took me ages to find. Dad had to go to ten second hand stores in London just to find it” she rambled, biting her lip. It was here where you first noticed how pretty she looked.
It hadn’t been this big earthshattering moment. It had been a small thought. But then that small thought became more. Until you didn’t think she was just pretty, you thought she was beautiful. With her soft defined cheekbones and her eyes. Which were different every time you saw her. At school they were bold, analytical, dare you say scholarly. At home in the comfort of her room, they were wild and magnetic. In the library they were radiant, and suddenly blue had a new meaning to you. It was the colour blue that made your heart race, made your tongue falter as she eyed you on her bed, waiting for your thoughts on the next classic she had leant you.
Then it was homework. You two had begun doing homework together, “a get together with a focus on scholarly matters” as Cara had put it. As Pipa worked alongside you, you noticed something, call it a earthshattering realization, but She was not the most objectively attractive girl in school, but her beauty was amplified because you admired her. Admired her for her absolutely angelic voice as she sang in the library, headphones in ears. Admired her when you sat opposite side of the room from her and watched her while she sang. She was confident enough and cool enough to have been one of the popular kids, but she didn't seem to care about that sort of thing. She was down to earth, and kind, and warm. And yes, pretty too. But that wasn't really the point. The point was, she understood you. And maybe just maybe, the way Pip would smile at you through the layers of books, might have made your heart ache in the best way.
Then it was pip herself who surprised you. She was more touchy with you, finding you at school and sitting so close your legs brushed. Holding your hand as you walked her to class. Letting you in her room, which you knew was special, only Cara and Lauren had been up here. You didn’t know what you were, best friends? But did best friends think about what her lips would feel like? How soft and warm they would be?
“Cara’s been my best friend since primary school. But you…you don’t feel like one to me. I’ve spent days reasoning with myself. Analyzing myself, trying to figure out why you feel different” Pipa has stated to you one day, out of the blue, her eyes seeming to shine, bold as the colour blue. “But I just realized. It’s because…your my person. You understand me. In ways nobody does. So when are you going to ask me out?”
So it was no surprise when you had asked her on an outing the next day, the book store of course. And she had said yes.
I just might do a actual story based on this. 🥺😭

Me while watching Last Twilight Ep. 12 (Final Ep.):
Okay, we'll finally see if we should take P'Aof's offer and storm GMMTV if the finale for this episode is unsatisfactory 😂
1. Hmmm, so Day was never able to get a successful surgery to restore his sight? I guess I could understand since endings that are *remotely* happy does not need to mean that he will be able to see again.
2. So after three years, Mhok is now a sous chef? Also, is this episode going the Bad Buddy route??? Cause if it is, I need to get ready 😂😂😂
3. Oof. They are trying to fool us with Porjai saying the "groom will be here" right after they show Mhok trying to call Porjai's phone <after 5 seconds> There it is! Seriously, I would like Night to be loved and happy for the rest of his life as he truly deserves it 🥹🥹🥹
4. At least, they weren't fooling us with the location. They have indeed met accidentally on the escalators of a hotel, not an airport. <after 5 seconds> P'Aof!!!!! I almost thought you'll never appear in this series 😂😂😂
5. Didn't Day got sus with the "usher"? I mean, Mhok still smells the same, right? RIGHT???? <after a few irritating scenes of Mhok in denial> I knew that perfume will make an appearance eventually. I mean, pretty sure at this point it is an official GMMTV merch 😂
6. Aaaaaaargh. Day wrote a book entitled "Begin with same person"??? With him and Mhok at the top of that mountain as a book cover??? It even has Day's voice for the audiobook??? 😱😱😱 No wonder Mhok's smile is from ear to ear.
7. I'm beginning to hate (affectionate) Mhok and Day 😅😅😅 What kind of flirting is this??? 😂😂😂
8. Night saying out loud that he is not paying for Mhok's "excellent care service" sends me 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I kennat 🤣🤣🤣
9. If looks could kill, Porjai would be dead on the spot 🤣🤣🤣 Night and Porjai playing cupids is the dream tag team lol
10. Mhok is freaking relentless 😂😂😂 Also, Day, you can go with Mhok to the US. I mean, you're rich enough to hire an assistant for your book shop. 😂
11. Don't worry Mhok. I also did not get why Day broke up with you lol (not until I read the series' writer's thoughts about Ep 11). <after 5 seconds> Ngl, that's a good conversation between the two. 🥹🥹🥹
12. Glad that Mum have accepted Porjai without difficulties 🥹🥹🥹 Their scene did managed to activate my tearducts 😭😭😭
13. Oh? Dad is also here. Will Mum and Dad have a fresh start too? I mean, Mum looks a bit shook and concerned at the same time. Also, why is Night just calling people to give improptu speeches? 😅
14. Oh, boy. NightPorjai's wedding is just full of happy tears and I have feelings 😭😭😭
15. Ugh. I hate it when the self-reflection is so late, it ends up with them rushing to the airport (or a bus terminal) to catch their romantic partner before they go away for good. But then again, Night and Porjai running in their wedding attire to look for Mhok is effing epic (even Porjai lying to the airport's information counter get Mhok is just 🤌🤌🤌) 😂😂😂
16. Wait, if Night knew that Mhok returned to the hotel, why the fvck did they all run in their wedding gear all throughout the airport looking for Mhok??? Does Porjai know about this? 😂😂😂
17. At least, it looks like we are going to get a happy ending. I really thought we are going to get an open ending based on previous events and the end credit song lyrics. Although, I am still not sure if this a good thing for the series as a whole.
18. Day can finally see (although again, it would have been more acceptable if he had stayed blind since a happy ending should not hinged on his ability to see). Also, Night hitting Day for being more excited to see Mhok rather than their mum (or him, for that matter) is 🤣🤣🤣
19. Oh? Is that Gee and August? Are they a thing now or just badminton partners???
20. Looks like they repainted Rung's car. I guess, it also symbolises a fresh start for it.
21. Two chefs in the family? I'm envious (and also hungry. I haven't eaten breakfast yet 😅). Also, Porjai's preggy again!
22. And they are back to the mountain top again. I hope it's much easier hiking this time around 😅. Also, Day, why are you lying? What d'you mean Mhok (Jimmy) is not handsome??? Lol
And it's ended. And it's happy (though a tad fairy tale-ish) 😭😭😭 Now, it was rumoured that 23.5 degrees will take the Friday time slot. I wonder if it's true. Can't hardly wait for it 😭😭😭

tw: depression & grief
tldr; a personal letter of how i've been feeling for the longest time.
i thought i knew the signs of depression but apparently i did not recognise the obvious signs that i've been feeling the past 6-12 months. it took a couple of people at my workplace to have a sit down with me and said that they've noticed that i was physically exhausted all the time and that i was falling behind work. i'm doing an apprenticeship to be a qualified pharmacy technician and i have six months left to complete. but because i keep asking for extension and yet i am still falling behind, means that i am really struggling and something isn't right (with me).
i told my managers that i have periods of motivation; i am on my grind girl era and then suddenly, i've fallen into a slump and crash. at first, i thought it was because of burnout and i always go "oh well, i need to just rest up" but then my rests get longer to the point that i don't remember what i did for the day. then, i struggle to wake up even though i have a full 8-hours of sleep. my usual self-care/hobbies like writing and reading doesn't seem to make me feel happy anymore. i keep convincing myself "i'll do this in a bit" or "i'll get to that soon" but it never happened. and when i get tasks done? instead of feeling accomplished, i feel exhausted. even eating food - feeding myself - makes me feel so exhausted instead of energized. i shouldn't be feeling like that but here i am, feeling just like that.
the workload started getting heavier. i spend a lot of time "resting" but i'm mentally fighting with myself to do something. anything than staying in one place. but i can't. i'm scared that time is going by so fast and i'm angry at myself that i'm not doing productive. i'm angry that i have no support to help me out and i'm angry that i'm still grieving over my mum's death and that i lost relationships within a year. i'm angry that i'm not moving on and i'm scared that everything is going by so fast. i don't know what's the concept of "doing things that i want to do" anymore because i can't do them without being reminded of people i used to know and now have left me.
in summary, i am grieving a lot of things that i didn't get to process what the f*ck had happened. so i booked myself an appointment with my doctor that i need a therapist. it's scary because i feel like i am losing my life over this and i want my life back. i need to find what is "my life". posting new fics isn't my priority at the moment but i do still have plans to finish my overdue projects. i just don't know when and i need to do this on my own pace now. figure out what i can handle and juggle between work and personal life.

20 things I love about Ash Lynx. 🌅❤️‍🔥🦁🎂🎉
It's the 12th of August.
Ya know what that means?
It's a big huge loving Happy Birthday to our Ash!!!!!
For his birthday, I wanted to write something, so here's a very appreciative appreciation post for my favourite character of all time.
Tumblr media
Here's just 20 reasons I love him with all my heart and soul.
1. His birth name. Aslan Jade Callenreese. His mum (or maybe just Yoshida being Yoshida) even made up "Aslan" to mean dawn/daybreak in hebrew when it actually means lion in turkish. However I like to interperet that, similar to a lion's mane, the sun shimmers with a golden light, and that's what his old lady meant when she named him Aslan to supposedly mean dawn.
2. His hair is also golden and reminds me of a lion's mane! And it's long. I love men with long hair!
3. His inner child. Ash has always been childish at heart and his most treasured memories are his childhood with Griffin. I love that as he opens up to Eiji, he starts showing his childish side more and more too.
4. His fear of pumpkins 🤭 mf is scared of a vegetable for christ sake!!! What a goofy thing to be afraid of. Cute though.
5. His jokes. Shit like telling Eiji to go watch Sesame Street, or being given an inkblot test at the hospital, the researcher asking what the inkblot sheet looks like, and he responds "Your wife". Countless examples of this cheeky fucker's one liners!
6. Speaking of which, that attitude he has. He's brutally honest, never backs down, says it like it is, and is unfiltered. He's smart whilst cutting the bullshit.
7. He knows how to lead, he sets goals clearly and he's strong and unwavering whilst not being outright cruel.
8. His fiery energy, especially being a Leo (more lion theming hehe) he's sucha a passionate person and that's a trait I both relate to and admire.
9. He remains loyal to his friends, through thick and thin, and even tries to understand people he has a bias against (Max for example, before they became like father and son.)
10. Despite being a gang leader, he does genuinely care for human life and doesn't like people dying for no good reason. Man's got morals.
11. His perseverance. Despite the cruel world trying to tear him apart time and time again in every possible way, he carried on with his investigation and his fight because he knew it was the right thing.
12. His intelligence! The dude can write advanced essays on politics and science and he does so for actual useful research reasons, not just to be a smartass.
13. He's the kind of person who drinks milk straight out of the jug. No, seriously. Look at this:
Tumblr media
Absolute madlad.
14. His fashion sense! I love his denim jackets, his hoodies, his ripped jeans, even that plain boring ass white shirt he loves to wear so much!
15. He agrees with me that beans are fucking gross. I don't blame him at all for being so petty about natto!
16. He's canonically bisexual. (This isn't debatable, his two canon crushes are Eiji and a girl he liked when he was 14. If you insist he's gay or straight you can get your biphobic ass outta here.) It means a lot to me as a bi person to have that sort of representation, plus it explains a lot of things, like the aforementioned hoodies and denim jackets (big same!).
17. He's the kinda guy who sits to read a good book. I'm kinda envious of his habit to read things that aren't just from a screen, but I also really want him to read to me. Storytelling podcast with Ash Lynx anyone?
18. His relationship with Eiji. They bring out the best in each other. Eiji helps Ash open up and express the emotions, good and bad, within him, whilst Ash inspires and helps out Eiji to get stronger, more independent, and more confident in himself and his abilities. Easily my favourite relationship of all time. They compliment each other perfectly and are so lucky to have each other.
19. His kindness and protectiveness towards children. He of course had a lot of respect and fondness towards Skip, and inspired Max and Jessica to become better parents to little Michael. He knows how vulnerable kids can be, and wants to protect them from violence and abuse. I love that he refuses to let these vicious cycles of parental neglect and child abuse continue.
20. His ability to love beyond all else. Love is what motivated him to save his friends and allies, take revenge for his brother and others he lost, and protect people from atrocities. Despite everything he went through Ash was, is and always will be that loving playful, childish at heart boy who cares for his loved ones beyond all comprehension. His love for Eiji and his friends expands beyond the universe.
Tumblr media
And that folks, is just 20 reasons why I love Ash from the deepest part of my spirit. He has inspired me in so many ways that I cannot even begin to go into right now, but just know thar he is an absolutely incredible character with such an important impact.
Thank you, Aslan. I love you so so much and I hope you have an amazing day in Japan with your husband. 💕💖💞💗

Scan - Klaus Voormann's drawing of George Harrison giving him a hug at Abbey Road Studios in 1963, as published in Voormann's book Warum spielst du Imagine nicht auf dem weißen Klavier, John? (2003).
George and being affectionate, as requested. A companion post to this one.
"George giving me (Klaus) a bear-hugggg My first time in London and... what a welcome!!! ‘It’s Klaus!’ George Harrison called, setting his guitar aside and walking toward me to give me a firm hug." - Warum spielst du Imagine nicht auf dem weißen Klavier, John? (2003)
"[W]hich Beatle was the better kisser? 'George,' [Iris] says with a smile. 'He gave me my first kiss. He was lovely. Paul was charming. George had something else.' [...] 'They’d all come round at two in the morning and my Mum Vi made chip butties. I met George at the ice rink when I was 12 and he was 14. Every night he would come round to our house after school. 'He used to play guitar and wanted to get into Rory’s band but Rory said he was a bit young. We went out for ages – but it was a totally different concept to boyfriend and girlfriend today. 'We’d walk down Lilly Lane which was like a lovers’ lane and kiss and cuddle. George was the best kisser ever. 'Rory opened a skiffle club and I wasn’t supposed to go because I was under 15 so I put cotton wool in my bra and blue blusher on my eyes. 'At the end of the night, Rory made a joke about his little sister having cotton wool down her bra. I was so embarrassed I ran out in tears. 'Then I heard footsteps behind me. It was George. I ran into his arms and he gave me the best kiss ever. 'I can still feel it right in my tummy, even now. He was lovely.'" - Mirror, October 6, 2012
"'At all clubs [in Hamburg],' says George, 'they used to read out a notice every night saying that all people under eighteen had to leave. Someone eventually realized I was only seventeen, without a work permit or a resident permit. So I had to leave. I had to go home on my own. I felt terrible.' Astrid and Stu drove him to the station, got him his ticket and a place on the train. 'He was just standing there,' says Astrid. 'Little George, all lost. I gave him a big bag of sweets and some apples. He threw his arms round me and Stu, which was the sort of demonstrative thing they never did.'" - The Beatles: The Authorized Biography (1968)
"I was surprised to see how affectionate he was with Olivia, holding hands, heads touching as they talked, snuggling up next to her at every opportunity." - Chris O’Dell, Miss O’Dell (2009)
George hugging Alla Rakha during the Dark Horse, 1974: here.
"Olivia was in the room and asked Madeleine her name. The next thing she knew, George was walking across the room directly to her, and as if they were old friends, put his arms around her! She was so overwhelmed and she automatically put her arms around him and hugged him back. He asked her her name, and she told him it was Madeleine. She said something to the effect of 'I love you George’ in her cute and charming way, but George only replied, 'It’s Krishna that you love.’ He was told by Bill how many concerts she had attended, so he asked, 'This is your 11th?’ In her shock, she said yes, but when he asked again, she said no, it was her 8th concert. He was knocked out that she had gone to that many. She told him, 'I would have gone to all 50 if I could,’ to which he jokingly replied, 'If I could I wouldn’t have!’ During this time George was holding both her hands in his." - Harrison Alliance, December 1974/January 1975, with thanks to Meet The Beatles for Real [x]
"Even hugging George was a psychedelic experience, what a gem of a man. Love him forever." - Dave Stewart, Facebook
“Just a few months after his death, I was in Bungalow 8, a New York club that Paul Shaffer had dragged me to, when I noticed a skinny fellow who was the spitting image of George, only young George, coming right toward me. Before I could say anything, this young man embraced me in a tender hug. And then pulled back to explain himself. ‘I’m Dhani Harrison,’ he said. ‘One of the last things my father told me was that if I ever come across people who were important to him, I should give them a hug.’” - Martin Short, I Must Say: My Life As A Humble Comedy Legend (2014) [x]
"The last time I met him, he was very sick and I held his hand for four hours. As I was doing it I was thinking ‘I’ve never held his hand before, ever. This is not what two Liverpool fellas do, no matter how well you know each other.’ I kept thinking, ‘he’s going to smack me here.’ But he didn’t. He just stroked my hand with his thumb and I thought ‘Ah, this is OK, this is life. It’s tough but it’s lovely. That’s how it is.’" - Paul McCartney, The Mirror, April 7, 2003 [x]
“George was the kind of guy who wasn’t going to leave until he hugged you for five minutes and told you how much he loved you. We knew where we stood with each other.” - Tom Petty, Rolling Stone, January 17, 2002 [x]

Advent spot for a Florence x fem reader where they don’t know if they should get their baby Christmas gifts because their kid is too young to open presents. Last minute, they decide to shop for the kid and have a fun time getting in the holiday spirit! Just a pure fluff request!
☃️ First Christmas ☃️
Pairing: Florence Pugh x Reader
Summary: Florence and you decide on what to get your shared son for his first Christmas.
Fluff | 0.6K | Florence & Reader share a child | Mentions of childbirth |
AC: I actually used a wheel to decide the gender of the baby like I do with all my fics that involve a baby without a mentioned gender. I hope you enjoy this!
Day 21 | Advent Calendar Masterlist 🎄
Tumblr media
8 weeks ago, your son entered the world bringing you and Florence a love and joy that nothing could ever top, at 8 weeks he's smiling and giggling but still way to young to understand anything about what is going on around him. He already has everything that he needs from clothing to stuffed animals to mountains of nappies so when Florence brought up the Christmas shopping list, the two of you weren't sure if it really was worth buying gifts for the little baby and playing Santa.
"We could just wait until next year, he'll be a year old and interacting with things more" you suggested as you and Florence sat together on the sofa after putting the little man to bed for the night, "Plus, what do we give him if we did do the whole Santa thing this year?" you added. "I already know mum and dad and the others will shower him with gifts so I'm not sure, maybe it is worth waiting until next year. We can just pick up some teething toys for now" Florence replied with a slight pout for her train of thought.
After a few moments of silence as you both faded off into your own thoughts, it made you both look at each other and smile softly. "He'd look adorable in a little Santa outfit" Florence spoke, breaking the silence. "He really would, even a little grinch outfit!" you added with excitement, "and we could get him some of those baby-proof indestructible books for when he's a few months older" Flo suggested as the ideas kept entering her mind. "What are we thinking? Of course, we have to give him his first Christmas this year!" Your wide smile did nothing more but convince Florence this would is indeed a baby's very first Christmas.
With only a week until Christmas and the shopping done for family and friends, you and Florence could now focus on buying 'Santa' gifts for the baby boy with piercing green eyes he shared with his mother. Joining the Christmas tree and table ornaments, Florence decked the house out with wall decorations and brought out her early Christmas kitchenware while you decked the front of the house out with plenty of Christmas lights, inflatable reindeers, nut crackers and of course, Santa himself.
The gifts under the tree soon start to spill over the living room floor with gifts for your son. Each night Florence and you would read him a Christmas related story even though he couldn't understand or even knew what Christmas was, it didn't matter. You both enjoyed sharing this special holiday with your newfound love, a new chapter of life for you and Florence to soak up. The three of you would be wearing matching pjs and you even brought him a musical Rudolph that had his name on the belly, it made him giggle whenever he watched it sway side to side while singing.
On Christmas morning, you and Florence couldn't be more excited to put your son in his new Christmas rocker while you both opened his gifts up one by one and showing them off to him, again, not that he understood anything but the smile on his tiny little face was more than enough for you and Florence to be glad that you decided to give him a Christmas you both will never forget.
"He looks so adorable" you whispered to Florence as you both looked over at the baby as he slept peacefully in his rocker, "he takes after you, I see" Florence replied in a whisper. "Oh no baby, that's all you! Look at his adorable little nose" you gently bobbed his little nose not waking him from his afternoon nap, "he actually reminds me so much of you, even this young" Flo turned to you, "he's just so full of life and it's impossible not to love him" she smiled before gently cupping your face, "and I know for a fact it's impossible not to love you" she whispered before kissing you gently.

15 questions and 15 mutuals
I've been tagged by @jeanvanjer <3
1. Were you named after anyone?
Yes, actually. My name was supposed to be Cecília only. My mum fell in love with it, inspired by a Ballerina named Cecília Kerche. But my dad lost his godmother who was named Maria José on the day of their wedding (she had a car crash on the way to the ceremony) and he asked my mum if they could name me Maria Cecília in honour of his godmother. So I'm Maria Cecília after dad's godmother and a ballerina.
2. When was the last time you cried?
Last Thursday when my boss texted me she needed me to come in early and didn't tell me why while a bunch of people were getting called by their managers to be fired. I was sure I was next and I had a panic attack and cried some. I wasn't fired, my boss only had some communication issues.
3. Do you have kids?
I have three dogs does it count?
4. Do you use sarcasm a lot?
It's a defence mechanism, alright?!
5. What’s the first thing you notice about people?
I... I don't know, I'm not good at that features thing. Hair probably.
6. What’s your eye color?
Brown
7. Scary movies or happy endings?
Happy endings ALL THE WAY
8. Any special talents?
I... I consider myself to be kinda creative? Is that special? I have a wild memory for some specific stuff too.
9. Where were you born?
Rio de Janeiro born and raised.
10. What are your hobbies?
Reading and writing, or at least coming up with more ideas than I will ever have time to write. I also like video games and crochet (and Yarn hoarding, it's great!) I like pestering my friends as well, does that count?
11. Have any pets?
I have three.... look, I was told they are all dogs, but I question it sometimes. I have the grumpy old lady, Tiana the 13yo Dachshund. She's been grumpy long before she was an old lady, she was born in my house and she's been grumpy ever since. There is my lil sweet angel, has never done anything wrong in her life, Allegra, her mum's a poodle, her dad's a Dachshund, she's a 2yo... dirty cleaning rag that barks, honestly. And there is my lil brainless, clingy fart and snore machine, Penelope, the lunatic 1yo Tasmanian Devil Frenchie. She has three brain cells but not all of them are working at the same time.
12. What sports do you play/have you played?
I played beach Volleyball for a while and I swam for many years as a kid/teen but never seriously. I don't like running or sweating... I'm not a big fan of exercising, truth be told.
13. How tall are you?
1,65m. Not tall, not short, quite average.
14. Favorite subject in school?
English and Literature. I also loved history.
15. Dream job?
I'd be really happy in my job if I was well paid and had better work conditions because I really do love teaching (most of the time). But my dream job was to be a writer, like professionally. Like getting paid to write my stories.

A story about a girl wanting to find out the truth
A/n: And…. Second chapter!
Warnings: mentions of death
Milly's POV:
After Calum left unexpectedly, I was happy when my phone rang and I saw Louis' caller ID. Finally getting my mind off of him and his weird reaction.
"Hello lovely brother!" I answered the phone. He didn’t answer immediately.
"Everything okay over there Milly? You never call me that." Louis can read me like an open book, like Calum. He immediately finds out when something’s going on and we mostly tend to mess with one another, we always did that and it will probably never change.
I let out a nervous breath. Telling both of them on the same day was definitely not my plan, but spontaneous things are normally better than plans.
"Ummm… I had an argument with Calum today. Not that deep though, don’t worry." Louis was overprotective, very overprotective and especially when we’re talking about the boyfriends of his little sisters. So adding that is a better idea, if I don’t wanna risk Calum's safety.
"Oh, I'm sorry, what happened? What did he do?"
"He just didn’t quite understand decisions I made…" I heard him holding his breath. He already knew where this is going. He then said:
"Do you want to find them?" He didn’t even had to add, who they were, I knew right away. There was this weird understanding between us.
"Yes.”
"And you’re doing it alone.”
"Yes."
I wasn’t able to say much more. I was too scared of his reaction. It took him some time to respond, which made me go crazy. What is he gonna say? Is he mad?
"You know Milly, you'll always be my sister. The DNA doesn’t matter to me, it doesn’t matter to anyone in our family. It didn’t matter to mum. We love you." He paused for a second, taking a deep breath.
"But if you feel like doing this, I'll support you and just know we’re here, Lots, Phoebe and Daisy, me, even Fizz and mum." I teared up. Getting his support is the biggest thing he could give me.
"Thanks Lou, I love you so much!" I said, trying to stop the tears from falling.
"And by the way, if Calum has a problem with you doing this alone, he literally doesn’t deserve you." That made me laugh. Louis never fails to make me happy again whenever I cried. Oh how much I loved him and how happy I was, he is my brother.
Later at night, at about 8 pm, I heard the door closing and Calums footsteps on the stairs. I sat in the bedroom watching my favorite Harry Potter movie, the prisoner of askaban while eating tons of oreos, my favorite type of food. In the scene where Remus misses class and Snape teaches the students about werewolves, Cal enters the room, looks what’s on the TV and lies down right next to me, putting his arm on my shoulders. The butterflies were going wild in my stomach, as if he didn’t already do that hundreds of times. He then quickly grabs the remote and pauses the movie. My head quickly turned to him, looking at his beautiful face. How lucky was I, to have a boyfriend like him? My cute little Cal.
"Could you maybe hear me out?" He said. I wasn’t mad at him, just confused what caused that reaction after I opened up to him about my plans for the future. I wanted to know what I did wrong.
"Of course.” I responded. I really wanted to hear what he had to say, happy he already wants to apologize. Normally, it takes days for Calum to realize his mistakes or understand his feelings. He’s often overwhelmed by his own emotions and doesn’t know how to react.
"I'm sorry." He looked like a baby, like a literal baby.
"I didn’t want to react like this, but, what I later realized was, that I was just afraid they could hurt you and I wouldn’t be there to protect you." Oh my god, I never even thought about that, that he actually worried about that, not being able to protect me and be there for me. Now I felt bad, really bad.
"Oh, sweetie, I didn’t even thought about that! I’m so sorry!" I silently added 'Thanking his bandmates for helping him understand his feelings and giving him the courage to directly talk to me' to my To-Do list because he was only already doing this because of them. Calum pulled me into a soft, warm hug.
"You did nothing wrong." He then whispered in my ear. I felt safe. For me, a safe place was wherever Calum was. But still, I had to do this adventure alone, finding out about my family, my heritage. It’s what I planned to do a long time ago. I promised it, even though it was a promise to myself.
Calum then took again the remote and pressed 'play' so the movie continued.
"Let’s do a Harry Potter date night, shall we?“ he asked and I happily went to get more snacks. Feeling better because we talked about our misunderstanding and can get back to the good things in life. Watching Harry Potter was definitely a part of it.
Cal's POV:
Lying here, with his arms wrapped around her, watching their comfort movie together, was Calum's happy place. He wanted to do nothing else, but this. With her, he was himself, his true self. Nothing could hurt him whenever she’s around. His world is all around her. And in a situation he felt exactly how he felt when the first kiss in Phoenix happened. The fireworks in his stomach were going off again and he only saw her. His beautiful girlfriend. He knew, it’s going to be hard, letting her go, to find her parents. Knowing anyone can hurt her, that thought stressed him. But he knew, she’s strong. She’s a strong, independent lawyer who fights for her clients, fights for everyone who needs it.
"Milly, just know that I believe in you. I’m gonna be there for you, whenever you need it." He whispered, but he didn’t get a response. She fell asleep, right in his arms, looking like the cutest person on earth. How lucky was he, to have a girlfriend like her?

Thank you @ronniebox for the tag!
Rules: List ten books that have stayed with you in some way, don’t take but a few minutes, and don’t think too hard - they don’t have to be the “right” or “great” works, just the ones that have touched you.
1. 'Witches Abroad' by Terry Pratchett
My first Discworld. I was immediately sucked in and knew it would be a new love. My dad bought me the book, and I remember starting to read it on a gloomy beach, laughing out loud and getting weird looks from my family. "You mean everyone brought potato salad?!"
2. 'To Kill a Mockingbird' by Harper Lee
An assigned book in high school, but one of the only ones I've returned to multiple times. I say it's my fave when I want to sound intellectual.
3. 'Good Omens' by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett
Came for the Terry Pratchett, stayed (and re-read maybe 10? 11 times?) because it's utter perfection. My actual favourite book.
4. 'Take Six Puppies' by Bette Paul
I don't know how many times I read this as a young child. My copy was almost in pieces, and the dogs on the front were embossed so you could run your fingers over them. I actually can't remember it much now, except the cover, but my God. I loved this book.
5. 'Claudia and the Middle School Mystery' (Babysitters' Club #40) by Ann M. Martin
I must have had about fifty of this series. I absolutely adored them, and used to play 'Babysitter's Club' in the garden. This one was the first book I ever bought with my own money. I remember it very clearly, handing over a £5 note in Wetherly's bookshop and feeling incredibly grown-up.
6. 'Goodnight Mister Tom' by Michelle Magorian
A lot of kids books on this list...! Another that I read over and over again, so much that the cover fell off. I think it was actually my sister's, but I commandeered it early on and never gave it back, and last re-read only a couple of years ago. As I got old enough to cook, I would fry bacon and cut thick slices of white bread, with a mug of tea, to mirror Willie's first meal at Tom's.
7. 'All Creatures Great and Small' by James Herriot (the whole series)
As a child I gave up on the idea of wanting to be a vet pretty quickly (too many distressed animals), but still devoured book after book about animals (special mention for the 'Animal Ark' books by Lucy Daniels, which I would get off the shelf and mix-up so they could sit next to other 'friends' for a while... I was a weird kid 😄), and discovering this series hidden away in my family's garage was a goldmine. I later got an 'all volumes in one' massive hardback edition. It led on to reading Gervase Phinn's school series and Gerard Durrell's 'My Family and Other Animals' series.
8. 'Strange Weather in Tokyo' by Hiromo Kawakami
A bit of an outlier in that I've only read this once, but it seemed worth including as it really stuck with me. Not the story so much, not a whole lot happens, but the vibe. It inspired me to read much more Japanese literature.
9. 'Past Mistakes' by David Mountain
I'm a bit of a social history magpie (love a BBC documentary), and this book was so readable and full of titbits - all those things you think you know about history, turned on their head. Just what I want out of a non-fiction book.
10. 'Hogfather' by Terry Pratchett
Another Pratchett?! Yes. This one is seasonal.
Wow, wordy. I could have mentioned many others, such as Wild Horses by Dick Francis (see how I snuck this one in 😛). I wouldn't necessarily recommend it, but it was the first 'grown-up' book I read. (My mum gave it to me because it was about horses and I loved horses... possibly I was a bit too young for the sexual content and rampant misogyny she must have forgotten it contained, but there we go.) I'll tag @lemonistas, @londonfoginacup, @incognito-insomniac, @astridcontramundum and anyone else who wants to!

15 people, 15 questions
I got tagged by @telomeke (the link to their post is here). Thanks for the tag! 😊
1. Are you named after anyone?
I came from a predominantly Catholic country so it is common to name babies after saints. Ironically, despite my saintly name, I was a real Tasmanian devil to my parents, teachers, and peers 😅
2. When was the last time you cried?
The last time that I sincerely cried was when my Dad passed away. I was eleven. After that, every event that made me "cry" barely wet my eyes 😅
3. Do you have kids?
No, and I don't plan to have any. I like kids - especially when I can hand them back to their respective mothers 😅 I don't have anything against motherhood, but I can barely support myself. Under the circumstances, it is not wise to bring another life into this world that I cannot support.
4. What sports do you play/have you played?
Oh boy. I used to do track and field, basketball, and soccer (football) when I was still in elementary (grade) school. However, my conservative home country deems these sports as too "manly" and therefore not appropriate for a growing 'lady'. So, they made me switch to cheer dance😤. Well, let's just say I have never danced again ever since lol.
5. Do you use sarcasm?
Let's just say that sometimes, using sarcasm is the only way to retain my sanity 😅
6. What’s the first thing you notice about people?
The tone and shift of voice when they talk. Not entirely sure why though 😅😅😅
7. What’s your eye color?
Hazel brown with hints of darkest grey.
8. Scary movies or happy endings?
Definitely happy endings. I will not subject myself to torture by watching horror films/series no matter how critically acclaimed it is. That's because I have a very vivid imagination and I really love a peaceful sleep 🥲
9. Any talents?
Does mixing chemicals and formulating new adhesive products count? 😅 I can play the keyboard, and write poems and short stories (although, it's been a long time since I wrote my last one). I also do embroidery during my spare time.
10. Where were you born?
Funny story. I was born on the eve of our town's patron saint's day. Before the feast day, the town's roads are closed in preparation for the upcoming festivities. Unfortunately, my mum's water broke during an intense cleaning session of our house on the eve of the feast. Since the roads were closed, my father and grandma (my mother's mum) were forced to call a midwife and perform a home birth. Curiously, I did not cry as my mum pushed my small baby form out of her womb. Fearing that I was a stillbirth, the midwife had put me near an electric stove to help warm me up. It was only then that poor baby me started to cry (to the relief of everyone around)😅
TLDR: I was born at home but only showed a definitive sign of life in our old family kitchen.
11. What are your hobbies?
Reading books, scrolling through various socmed (Nowadays, though, it's mostly Tumblr and Reddit), and listening to some brand new music.
12. Do you have any pets?
When I was still living in my home country, I used to have dogs. However, moving to Australia, I was forced to leave them behind with our trusted relatives. We still Facetime though, so there's that.
13. How tall are you?
Sadly, I'm five feet flat, I am still hoping for some (miracle) growth spurt even in my thirties lol
14. Favorite subject in school?
I love history. I love reading about the beginning of things. I also had high grades in literature simply because I am an advanced reader (that is, I have already read the books on my teacher's list even before they have released them to the class).
15. Dream job
Somewhere where deadlines are a mere suggestion lol
Onward tagging (I know some of you have already done this, but give this poor hungry bear a break, I'm running out of people to tag: @lost-my-sanity1, @sparklyeyedhimbo, @imlivingformyselfdontmindme, @waitmyturtles, @dimplesandfierceeyes, @plantsarepeopletoo, @actually-yikes, @dribs-and-drabbles, @ablazenqueen, @alan-apologist, @ellasaru12, @queersouthasian, @lamonnaie, @rei-the-head-shaker and anybody else who wants to play😊
