So, Kai and Morro. Their similarities are the same amount to their differences.
Before in my Nya and Morro one i said how Kai (and Lloyd) are two of the most different to Morro. I still think that, but i also think they have their similarities.
The biggest similarity between Kai and Morro is how like minded they are when it comes to goals. They both gain one and fulfil it to the end, similarly to Nya. They would do anything to make sure their goal is achieved because not only would it benefit them but it would also benefit others. Impress others. Protect others.
This is driven by their passion as ninja and their need to become better. Their passion is what fuels them to keep going, to stay motivated in what they believe in or wish to achieve. Kai is shown as one of the most passionate people on the show, and Morro is shown to be just as passionate as him, and both their passion ends up not only fuelling them to achieve their goals, but also in their own anger and temper.
Their anger and outbursts tend to be fuelled by the passion backing them up in their opinions and beliefs, and they desperately need to get their points across and do that through their temper as its the easiest method (not the most effective tho). Both Kai and Morro are two individuals who at first had large egos, finding themselves and only the the ones most close to them as important (barely for Morro, the only person he cared for was Wu, who didn’t need any sort of protection or help). However, its shown for both of them that their egos were fragile things, quickly crumbling to bits as their prides took over. Their pride is what makes them so similar, their need to succeed and achieve better for whatever reason, whether its to be as strong as possible or whether to finally be important, a place.
But then things tend to differ.
Both Morro and Kai were orphans, dirt poor and unable to gain knowledge like how others their age do. Neither have a home, and neither had parents there to support them until later in life. But Kai had one thing that Morro didn’t, one person that created Kai’s whole purpose and need as a ninja. Someone to protect, some who was under his responsibility, someone like Nya.
Because Kai had Nya, he understood the need to protect and raise others up from the ground, he understood struggles of others and understood that he had to help others. Because of Nya, Kai gained his biggest qualities that developed with the ninja. His sympathy, his empathy, and his heart. He wanted to have the power of protecting, so the people he cared for didn’t need to worry anymore (so they wouldn’t leave him anymore).
Morro didn’t have that, he didn’t have somebody he needed to protect and have responsibility over. He only had himself, and it essentially turned his thought process into (undertale reference) “Kill or be killed” kinda situation. He had never relied on anyone, never needed anyone, and never had anyone need him.
Kai had a purpose, and it was to protect. Morro didn’t have a purpose, so he had a goal to motivate him.
People don’t tend to realise that the most smallest of situations, or words, or actions, can leave so much of an effect on a person. Especially a child.
Their situations were so similar, yet so insignificantly different that no one tends to notice how to drastically changed them as people.
I feel like theres more to add to this, and that i haven’t said my point correctly, but i have school in the morning and i need to sleet so enoughs enough. ALSO: im not comparing their situations as two orphans in a “who had it worse?” Kinda way, both their situations happen irl and shouldn’t be compared in such a way when they each have their own struggles. It was only to analyse how it affected them and the such, please take care of any child you see people they have it rough now a days 😭

Tumblr media
Ayato
He would think so high and mighty of himself
Like, he was sure that he was hiding it pretty damn well and that you would never find out about his little secret
you have been engaged to Ayato for some time now, the wedding due to happen soon
it has been a marriage of convinience, both for him as well as your family, yet you were relieved when you found out you were going to marry Ayato, having had a crush on him for a little over a year now
you thought that over the time he got to know you, he also developed feelings for you, he certainly did tell you so
for a long time, you were blinded by the illusion you so desperately wanted to believe, ignorant to the sad and sympathatic looks Ayato's staff would give you
You excused his long and late hours away from you, telling yourself that he was just catching up on work and that he was alright
You only started to get somewhat suspicious when you noticed one of your friends visiting the Kamisato estate rather frequently, but only ever staying for a short period of time, while she never even talked to you when here
still, you gave them both the benefit of the doubt, thinking that they might just be working on something together
Thoma, however, knew what was going on behind your back. He wanted to tell you on so many different occaisions, yet he had to think of his own job as well and how his actions could put himself at risk, as well. So, he never said a single word to you, keeping you oblivious
until one day, it was late at night again and Ayato told you he would be working late again
you nodded and let him get back to his work, but later decided to surprise him with some snacks and refreshments you wanted to bring him
you were feeling kind of giddy when you approached his office door with the tray in your hands, as you noticed weird sounds coming from behind the doors
you didn't want to believe your ears, this couldn't be happening.. not your Ayato..
so you pushed open the door slightly, enough for you to peek into the room, only to have your world crushed in front of your eyes, along with all your hopes and dreams for the future
your ears did not decieve you, Ayato was, in fact, cheating on you this very moment with the person you thought to be one of your best friends
what's even worse was that he noticed you, standing by the door, having caught them in the act
and all he did, was smirk at you as he leaned down and bit into the other womans neck to which she let out a loud moan
shocked, the tray slipped out of your hands as you turned on your heels and started running down the halls, tears streaming down your face
you passed Thoma on the way to your room who shot you another sympathetic look.
He knew it... he was in on it..
now it finally dawned on you, and it all made sense.. why everyone was always looking at you like this.. they were all in on it.. you were the only one who wasn't aware..
still crying, you grabbed a bag and took some of your most important belongings as well as some clothes, before you left this estate you once hoped you could call your home
seems like some things just weren't meant to work out in life...
Tumblr media
Heizou
he wouldn't want to do it, but he would if he could get some kind of benefit from it
Heizou has always been a very flirty personality, even while in a relationship with you. It caused arguments on more than one occaision
he would always tell you that he would stop doing it.. that promise would sometimes last for a week, often times shorter than that, before he got right back to his usual behaviour
the worst part was, that he saw nothing wrong with this type of behaviour
as long as it got him the results he desired, he didn't care for the method he had to use
it was cruel in a way, but he didn't want to acknowledge that he could do wrong as well
when this particular incident occured was when he finally realized how wrong his attitude had been
he had been stumped on a particular case for a few days now, no new leads showing up and the trail was starting to get cold
it frustrated him beyond anything else and to top it off, he was currently engaged in yet another heated argument with you
you were ticked off by the way he was shamelessly flirting with a shopkeeper, right in front of you while on a date
he tried to explain that he just tried to get some clues out of her, but you didn't seem to want to hear it
after some more yelling, you left the house to catch some fresh air and cool off, while Heizou stayed back
he sat in front of his files again, trying to make sense of all the clues when someone knocked on the front door
he recognised your sister there and while he planned on sending her away at first, she made him an offer he just couldn't turn down so easily
spending one night with her in exchange for the missing clues he needed to solve this case
he didn't think long before agreeing to this deal
she entered the house and it didn't take long before things got heated and they both landed on the bed he normally shared with you
it didn't really feel right to do this, but he was doing it for the greater good. He's sure you would understand that
while they were in the middle of things, with her being on top, riding him, he suddenly heard the front door open and a sharp inhale being taken
he whipped his head around, seeing you standing there, looking shocked and hurt
immediately after that, you turned and ran out the door again, he saw tears beginning to form in your eyes. He wanted to get up and run after you, but.... he couldn't. He had to keep up his part of the deal. He could always talk to you the next day
when he sought you out the next day, you were refusing to speak to him.. and the day after... as well as the day after that
he was getting frustrated, missing holding you in his arms. He grew irritated without you around..
the next day, he saw you in the streets of Inazuma City, so he walked up to you
However, once he reached you, he was met with a slap in the face. It stung, and he looked at you in surprise
tears welled up in your eyes again as you turned and tried to leave again, but he quickly snatched your wrist, trying to explain his reasons to you
you stayed and listened, but your expression was hard and ice cold the entire time
"I hope it was worth it in the end, because you lost me for good now"
that was the last thing you ever said to him again before you left his life for good
and finally, Heizou understood what he had been doing wrong this entire time... and he regretted his decisions like nothing else in his life...
Tumblr media
Kazuha
now for Kazuha... he is a very honest and loyal soul
you never would have thought that you had to worry about anything like that with him, already having bad experiences from a previous relationship
Kazuha always made time for you, made you feel loved and appreciated, always told you how much he loved and adored you, whishing you would stay with him forever
you honestly felt the same way about him, already imagining a future together with him
but... we all know how easily Kazuha can get drunk.. and just how drunk he gets from so few drinks..
you were going out with some of your friends to party a bit, and you decided to invite your boyfriend along
he didn't mind it, deciding not to drink anything so he could keep an eye on you and make sure you're safe throughout the entire night
it went well in the beginning. You were moderately drinking with your friends while he was sipping on whatever non-alcoholic beverage he ordered for himself
he always kept an eye on you, but at some point of the night, he lost sight of you
while walking around the vicinity, looking around trying to find you, he ran into one of your friends, who was obviously pretty drunk at this point
she clung onto Kazuha, staying close to him, slowing him down immensely
at some point, she offered him a drink. He refused at first, but she kept insisting, promising that it would be non-alcoholic
being the sweetheart that Kazuha is, he gave in after some time, only to realize too late that she had been lying, it was very much an alcoholic drink
but it was too late already, she forced him to down the glass and then another one right after, getting him drunk
in this state, he didn't have control over his mind or his actions, he just went along with whatever she said to him
so what if she suggested to go into an isolated corner so that they could have some "fun"
in his inebriated state, he didn't realize that the person he was doing it with, wasn't you
only when he heard a gasp and saw you standing there a few feet away from him did he regain some of his consciousness back
he saw the tears forming in your eyes and he tried to run after you, but even in your own drunken state, you were faster than him, he couldn't catch up to you
the next day, he woke up again with a severe headache but still perfect memory from the events of that night
he immediately set out to look for you, finding you rather quickly
you had dark circles under your eyes and they were red and swollen from all the crying
he apologized to you over and over, telling you what had happened. He hated himself for letting this happen to him, yet he was still more worried over you
it is up to you if you want to forgive him or not, he will accept whatever decision you make. Just know that he is so, so sorry and if you choose to give him a second chance, he will make sure that nothing like that will ever happen again..
Tumblr media
Gorou
oh, poor little Gorou..
he is soo easy to manipulate.. people can tell him everything they want, and he is prone to believe them until proven wrong
he loves you dearly, with all his heart, but he often doubts himself, fearing that he's not good enough for you
so, when someone else comes along, planting even the faintest bit of doubt in his mind about your relationship, he grows restless and insecure
you, having already a strained relationship with your family, especially with your younger sister, spent most of your free time with Gorou, so normally, there wouldn't be anything for him to worry about, right?
Well, the thing is.. your sister has always had a thing for Gorou, even before you two got together. She neve told you about it, but ever since you made the relationship official, she hated you for it
she wanted Gorou all to herself, yet you were standing in the way of that goal. She had to get rid of you somehow..
the first few months of the relationship went by great, you were both so in love with each other
yet, after that, your sister started to visit Gorou whenever you weren't around him. You could be at work or out doing something.. she would be there visiting him, leaving again before you returned again
at first, it was just normal visits. She would simply talk to Gorou, asking him how his day went, getting to know him better. Though she asked to keep this meet-ups a secret from you, since she claimed she wanted to reconnect with you on your terms alone
Gorou, being non the wiser, agreed to that
this went on for a while until she started to plant seeds of doubt in his mind. Spreading rumors to him how you were meeting up with some other guy, how the meet-ups became more frequent, that you were probably cheating on him, and so on
Gorou didn't want to believe her, choosing to trust you. But, being so gullible, he started to see things that weren't actually there. He imagined you coming home later than usual, thinking you were avoiding his gaze
he didn't want to admit it, but with every further visit from your sister, he believed her more and more, now doubting everything about your relationship with him. Did you ever even love him?
the final part of her plan came, when she convinced him to sleep with her to "get you back for cheating on him first"
it felt wrong to him, but he still went along with the idea. At some point, he did get into it, not noticing how you came back earlier than usual, flowers in your hand..
those flowers immediately dropped to the ground as you realized what you just walked in on..
and in that moment did he remember.. today was your anniversary.. 6 months togehter...
he immediately ripped himself off your sister, calling out your name, but you were already out the door. He quickly threw some clothes over himself to run after you, but your sister caught his wrist, begging him to stay
he paid her no mind and ran after you, yet he wasn't able to find you, no matter where or how hard he looked..
defeated, he returned to his place, curling in on himself.. tomorrow, he promised himself. Tomorrow he's gonna find you and talk to you..
however, the next day, he found out that you had left Watatsumi Island.. you went and found Kazuha, leaving Inazuma with him on the Alchor..
you were out of his reach, forever now, and it was all his fault.. he had no one else to blame but himself for his stupid actions.. he lost the best thing that ever came into his life, and he would never get you back...

A few different people have been observing that Scrooge begins to change more quickly in the book than is often shown in adaptations. The Spirit of Christmas Yet To Come isn’t the one crucial factor breaking his obstinacy, but rather a final message to drive home a point that Scrooge had already become receptive to. I want to trace the shape of Scrooge’s progress over the course of the book and see what it reveals. (There will be some ‘spoilers’ here, since the story seems fairly universally known even among those who are reading the book for the first time.)
After Marley’s appearance, he is disturbed and discomfited, but still trying to hang onto denial and not face what he’s been told.
With Chistmas Past, adaptations often treat it like a psych session - see, you hate Christmas because you were so miserable during it. But in the book, that isn’t the point at all. Scrooge sees times when he was unhappy as a boy, but he also sees what comforted him during those times - reading and imagination, which his adult self would dismiss asfrivolous and unprofitable - and recaptures his joy in those things. He sees times when he was happy, like at Fezziwig’s Christmas party. And he sees how he’s become the kind of person who made his younger self unhappy rather than happy, and how easy it would to be otherwise.
He sees himself asan unhappy child, and wishes that he’d been kinder to the young boy singing carols at the door. He sees himself happily employed with a kind, generous and personable employer, who could create a vastly more pleasant workplace climate at trivial expense, and wishes he’d been nicer to Bob Cratchit.
And then he sees Belle, and is shown that his unhappiness is of his own making and the consequence of hus own choices. His being the selfish, avaricious person he is is not the consequence of Belle breaking up with him; it is the cause of it. She saw him already becoming that person, and chose not to follow him in that path. Her choices left her a happy, loving and loved woman; his left him unhappy and alone. Scrooge cannot bear this, and rejects and fights the spirit rather than face it.
But he has nonetheless already begun to change. Whereas he initially did not want to go with Christmas Past (“a night of unbroken sleep would be more conducive to [my welfare]”), he willingly goes with Christmas Present and expresses the desire to learn and benefit. He sees people in all manner of circumstances, good and bad, choosing to take joy in each other’s company and the comforts, small or great, around them. Many adaptations fail in this, focusing Scrooge’s attention on the idea that people dislike him (Mrs Cratchit; his nephew’s joke) but in the book Scrooge clearly greatly enjoys his nephew’s party, the nephew is being good-humoured and generous and expresses his goodwill towards Scrooge, and Scrooge doesn’t mind the joke at all. He sees the Cratchits making the best of what they have, and how he is making their lives harder than need be. He sees, in many ways and places, how he could be making others happy and being happy himself, rather than making evrryobe miserable, and it is an appealing picture. And Present calls him out, several times, on his past words and sentiments, and Scrooge repents them.
By the time he meets the Spirit of Christmas Yet To Come, he is already willing and prepared to change, and making deliberate plans to do so. The thing that I think is emphasized through the scenes with Yet To Come, as a driving home of the point, is that Scrooge’s actions up to this point have not only made him and others unhappy - they are an utter failure at getting Scrooge the one thing he had prioritized: wordly security, respect, and dignity. In Belle’s words, his turn to avarice in his youth was in hopes of avoiding the “sordid reproach” that the world has for poverty. He was fine, and even pleased, with being feared rather than loved - what he did not want was to be patronized, despized, looked down on.
And now he sees where that got him! His business partners don’t even care to attend his funeral. Men whose respect he hoped to have gained don’t even give him a second thought, and for the brief moment they do, think ill of him (“Old Scratch” is Victorian slang for the devil). His chambers and even his body are plundered (tomorrow’s reading is even more graphic about this, in some lines, than most adaptations). He’s buried in an obscure, untended, weedy churchyard, because no one cares enough about him to make other arrangements. He has none of the worldly respect, regard, dignity for which he turned to money as a protector. Past and Present showed that he was wanting the wrong things; but Future shows him that he wasn’t even achieving the things he thought he did want, amd was in fact achieving their opposite.
The point of Future, then, is not to convince Scrooge to change. He has already chosen that he desires to change. Future alone, without the earlier spirits, would be supremely ineffective; showing Scrooge that his servant and the people around him hate him, without first showing him that he can be happy and make other people happy, would only make him more of a misanthrope. This is not a “scare ‘em straight,” as some adaptations play it. The point of Future is as a final guard against backsliding, against regret: you are losing nothing by changing, because your current path is losing you even the paltry things you sought to gain by it.
Also, I hadn’t really registered this on previous reads, but this is the very near future - the Christmas one year after the period of the book. This is never stated outright, but Christmas Present says of Tiny Tim, “If these shadows remain unaltered by the Future, none other of my race will find him here” - meaning, no future Christmas. And, in the visions with Christmas Future, Tiny Tim has died only a few days ago. In the words of Dante (paraphrased) “the time was perilously short for turning.” The Spirit of Christmas Yet To Come doesn’t teach the lesson - that’s the previous spirits - but he makes sure it sticks.

My Navigation and Masterlist
Pairing(s): Gwi-nam x Fem!Reader Author's Note: For the sake of fanfiction - and this applies to all of my aouad stories unless stated otherwise - we shall make it so that Gwi-nam never sexually assaulted/harassed Eun-ji and neither did his friend group because what they did WAS SA/SH and I feel like so many people gloss over that fact. They have never SA/SH anyone and are just regular bullies who just harass and beat people up normally.  Summary: Even turning into a zombie won't stop Gwi-nam from getting back to you before you wake up. Warnings: Normal AOUAD gore and violence, Gwi-nam pushing that girl to her death in the kitchen scene, I think that's it but lmk if there's any more you can find! Word Count: 6,106
Lunch.
One of your favorite parts of the day, because everybody is too preoccupied with their food and their friends to look at you. You always sat alone at your table, right in the middle of the lunch room. You had a great view of everybody around you from here. People-watching became something you were used to doing.
You didn’t really have any real friends, only ones you would talk to occasionally in the halls and at the beginning of classes. You never would actually text them outside of class, and the conversations would dull after the topic of school stopped, but you liked them nonetheless. You were more of an introvert anyways so not requiring yourself to make friends outside of school was nice. No requirements or plans to attend. There was really only one person who you would actually consider your friend; the only person you would willingly get out of bed to hang out with.
And he was currently throwing pieces of broccoli at the back of your head.
Yoon Gwi-nam. The school bully’s gopher and, unfortunately, your best friend. You’d been his friend since 7th grade before he joined the group of the bad and left you alone. You weren’t too upset since he still hung out with you outside of school and showed you his friendly affection in other ways - such as with the broccoli bits that were tangled in your hair at the moment - but it got lonely at times. You also knew he only was in their group because of how you’d gotten bullied at the beginning of freshman year and he stood up for you. From there, he also got bullied until one day it just… stopped. For the both of you. The next time you saw him, he was smirking with an arm wrapped around Myeong-hwan’s shoulder as the boy berated a timid-looking girl who had tears running down her cheeks.
He’d explained everything after school when you’d been ignoring him and you reluctantly agreed to his actions, knowing he was doing it for your benefit as much as, if not more than, his. You didn’t like it, but you weren’t sure of any way to stop him after he’d already dug himself too deep.
Another broccoli piece hit your head and you leaned your head down to hide your face and your smile. To everyone, you just looked like another one of Gwi-nam and Myeong-hwan’s victims but this wasn’t bullying. This was something you had been doing since the both of you were in seventh grade. It was a test to see how long you could go without getting annoyed and if it lasted more than 10 minutes then you got a beautiful reward of a nice, crisp 5 dollar bill. If you lost, you had to lose said nice, crisp 5 dollar bill.
The constant hitting was getting on your nerves and you prepared yourself to lose $5 just until you saw students. They were acting weird, crowding around the glass wall leading to the outdoors and screaming. They banged on the door until it broke and everyone fell to the ground in a pile. You stood up to rush forward to help them but stopped halfway across the room when you saw blood.
They were… eating each other.
You stood there paralyzed as you watched and couldn’t move even as one of them started rushing towards you. Just as the bloodied student got within a foot of your face, it was suddenly launched backward by a familiar sneaker.
Are you okay?” You heard Gwi-nam ask you and scream your name but you just stared in shock at the body that contorted on the floor before it shot back up and roared. Just as it started to charge at you, Gwi-nam yanked you as he grabbed a lunch tray and slammed it across the beast’s face. It fell to the ground and Gwi-nam grabbed your hand to drag you away from the swarm. The sprinklers had turned on from the kitchen catching on fire and suddenly everything was slippery and you could barely keep your footing.
Correction, you couldn’t keep your footing. You slipped to the ground and Gwi-nam’s hand fell from your own when he was tackled by a zombie. He only barely was able to grab another lunch tray and stick it between the beast’s teeth before it could bite him. You quickly stood up and kicked the zombie off of him, slipping while trying to lift Gwi-nam and running hand in hand towards the closing doors of the kitchen. You crouched down and ducked under the metal table before any of the ones in the room could see you. Quickly after, you were joined by two others, a boy and a girl.
“Get out! No!” Gwi-nam whisper-yelled as he tried to force them back out but you just pulled his hands away from the boy’s hair.
“Gwi-nam stop! They’ll hear us! Just let them in,” you whispered to him and he rolled his eyes but knew you were right. As everyone piled in, you almost yelped when your legs got pushed out into the walkway but held your hand over your mouth as you pulled your legs back in, holding your breath as you waited to see if any zombie had seen you. Luckily they hadn’t.
Gwi-nam cursed and glared at the boy who had unintentionally, or maybe intentionally, pushed your leg out. He grabbed you by the waist, pulling you in between his legs so you were laying against his chest to make room for the two as you curled in on yourself. You were too much in shock to think about the crush you’d been harboring for him for years as the first of many tears started to fall down your cheek. A small and almost inaudible whimper escaped your lips but Gwi-nam heard it and quickly used one of his hands to cover your mouth while the other wrapped around your waist and pulled your back further into his chest as he rocked you slightly. No other sounds left you but the tears continued to fall.
The girl across from you wasn’t as lucky. She whimpered loudly as she cried and you reached out to take her hand, trying to get her to calm down but she just cried louder.
Gwi-nam let go of your mouth and waist to reach forward and wrap his hands around her face to cover her mouth. “Shh! Shut the fuck up!” He gritted out through his teeth quietly. His head snapped up when he heard snarling before making the quick decision to just kick her out from under the table. She screamed, attracting all of the zombies’ attention and she tried to get up and run away but they got her. You covered your mouth as your breathing quickened and clenched your eyes tightly together. Gwi-nam pulled you into his chest and your head rested in the crook of his neck. The water from the sprinklers was still dripping down the sides of the table the three of you hid under. Your clothes and hair were soaked completely and so were Gwi-nam’s. More tears fell from your eyes and you clinged to his shirt tightly.
“Go get it,” you heard the boy from above tell the boy across from the two of you.
“No. I won't,” he protested, whimpering when he saw the glare on his face grow.
“You stupid little…” Gwi-nam reached forward to grab onto his hair and yanked it.
“Stop. Please!” He begged. “Just send her! She’s crying just like the other girl was!” He suggested, thinking he was giving a good solution.
Gwi-nam didn’t speak for a second and you heard the boy let out a sigh of relief when his hair was released. “You know what, you’re right,” you heard him say and your body tensed. He wasn’t actually going to send you out there, was he? “She is crying.”
You forced your body to relax, accepting whatever would happen to you next but tensed back up in surprise when Gwi-nam kicked the boy out into the open.
“But she’s important.”
The boy quietly started crying when he saw the zombies running towards him and latching onto his leg. He grabbed onto your leg, pulling you with him as he begged for help.
“Please, help!” He dragged you out from under the table and you had to bite your tongue to keep from screaming as you desperately kicked at his hands. Gwi-nam came up from behind you and dragged you away, helping you to your feet before moving the both of you to dodge a zombie approaching him from behind. He quickly pushed you down so you were climbing through the space under the metal table before following closely behind and moving out of the way just as you put another, smaller, table in between the space of the two of you and the zombie. It just barely stopped the zombie from underneath, who you realized was the girl Gwi-nam had kicked out from under the table, from biting the two of you as she reached desperately but to no avail. As the two of you took a deep breath of relief from the zombie being out of reach, you quickly tugged Gwi-nam away by the sleeve after seeing another zombie approaching from the right and pushed a moving cart in front of the undead boy, causing him to fall over and scramble to get up. You both backed up and you heard someone trying to get your attention from beside you.
“Hey, kids. Down here. Come quick!” The older lunch lady told you and motioned for you to join her under the countertop. You let out a breath of relief as you moved towards her but it faltered when you saw the zombie you knocked over with the cart get up and rush towards you. Gwi-nam quickly grabbed your wrist and moved you out of the way as he grabbed the woman’s outreached hand and pulled her in front of him just as the zombie latched its teeth onto her neck. Her screams echoed through the small room and you let out a shaky breath as he pushed both the woman and the zombie away before rushing forward, your hands still interlocked, and trying to get to the other side of the kitchen. He stopped short and turned around to go the other direction when he saw the boy who suggested throwing you to the zombies contort his body in odd ways before getting up and scrambling towards you. Another zombie ran towards Gwi-nam but he stopped just short to avoid being the next victim of the virus, pulling you away from the zombie boy sneaking up on you from behind. Gwi-nam bent down suddenly and grabbed a knife, holding it out in front of him as he pushed you behind him and into a corner. Feeling useless, you looked around for something, anything, to help and luckily saw a butcher’s knife laying on a cutting board where lettuce pieces were scattered around on. As Gwi-nam was looking at one of the zombies on the other side of the room, the girl trapped underneath the metal table had escaped and jumped towards him before you grabbed her hair to yank her back, slashing her across the neck and getting blood scattered across your hand and face. You didn’t have any time to be disgusted or wipe yourself off when the lunch lady came up to you, now zombified, and tried to pull your arm into her mouth only for you to slash her across the face with your knife and then again across her throat, successfully making her drop to the floor in a lifeless heap. You looked over just in time to see the boy who turned the lunch lady into a zombie charge for Gwi-nam only to be thrown to the ground after he stabbed him through the neck with his own knife. Hastily, the two of you killed off the remaining zombies in the room together and breathed heavily after you finished.
You walked over to the sink and grabbed a paper towel from a roll to your left before wetting it and wiping down your face before turning to Gwi-nam and walking over to him. It wasn’t a lot, but he had blood drops scattered along his face so you gently reached up to wipe them away and he just watched you in silence with an unknown look in his eyes as you did.
Once you were done, you let your hand fall to your side and dropped the wipe to the side with a heavy sigh. The sound of creaking was heard to the side and the both of you looked over in fear as the gate protecting you from the horde of zombies surrounding the kitchen started to break in some areas. “We should go. I don’t think that will hold them for much longer. Especially since they know we’re in here and probably won’t back down anytime soon,” you told him and he nodded in agreement. He looked around before setting his eyes on the window of the room and pointing to it.
“There. We can use that to leave. We definitely can’t use the kitchen entrance so I think this will be the best option,” he explained and you hummed in agreement as you both walked up to it. You saw a lever to the side and quickly unlatched it before pushing the window open and looking around outside to see if there was anything, or anyone, out there that would put either of you at risk. The sun was going down and it was harder to see but you looked over and saw a small alleyway that appeared to be empty. You quickly jumped up onto the windowsill and Gwi-nam frantically put his hands on your waist to stop you from falling, which you let out a small laugh at. You sent him a look behind your shoulder and he rolled his eyes before playfully pretending to push you forward which you flinched at but then let out a small laugh. Jumping down onto the other side of the window, you kept watch as Gwi-nam helped himself get over the sill to hop down beside you. The both of you snuck behind the alleyway and peeked behind the wall to look for any escape. By that point,  the sun had faded behind the horizon and the world was encased in darkness besides the lights that automatically turned on from the school’s lampposts. Looking around, you noticed a bike. Without looking, you lightly tapped Gwi-nam on the chest to get his attention and pointed at it.
“Fuck, luck us,” he exclaimed quietly and looked around to see how much of a risk the path to the bike was. “All we need to do is get to the bike.”
Grabbing your hand in one of his and his knife in the other, he quickly set a path to there. You noticed zombies had realized your appearance and tried to tug him back but it was too late. Letting go of his hand, you grabbed an oncoming zombie by the shoulders and threw it to the ground behind you, helping Gwi-nam up from where he’d fallen. You both sprinted to the vehicle and you grabbed both Gwi-nam and your own knives while he hastily got on the bike, trying to get it started and going quick enough for you to jump on so the two of you could go. Unfortunately, as he started ascending the bike, the two of you noticed the chain was broken and you cursed at your luck.
Not so lucky after all.
Abandoning the bike, the two of you jumped off and made a run for the school’s front entrance. The bike had slowed down the zombies behind you but the ones in front of you were still a risk and you had to stab one to stop it from getting too close. You gave Gwi-nam his knife back after you two had successfully made it back into the building and closed the glass doors behind you. Letting out an exasperated groan, you yanked Gwi-nam’s hand and pulled him along as you saw more zombies chasing after you, these ones inside of the building with you. You both ran around through the corridors, getting cornered by zombies but luckily finding an open door.
The principal’s office.
You both ran in and Gwi-nam slammed the door shut behind him. You turned around just in time for a zombie to lunge at you and you shoved its chest hard so it fell backwards. Gwi-nam grabbed one that was creeping up behind you and stabbed it a few times through the neck before throwing it over the principal’s desk where you heard it twitching and groaning before going silent. While he dealt with the another one, you handled the other two and the two of you cleared the room with great amounts of exerted effort.
You bent forward and rested your hands on your knees as you took deep breaths in to try and regulate your breathing. “Fuck. What the fuck. This is so fucked up,” you rambled under your breath and was Gwi-nam carelessly threw his knife down onto the coffee table before resting his hands above his head to try and regulate his own breathing.
“I hate this fucking school,” he complained and unceremoniously plopped down onto one of the soft chairs in the room. Walking over, you plopped down onto the one next to him and sighed.
“Let’s just go to sleep for a bit, we’re both too fucking tired to think properly, let alone fight anymore. Maybe tomorrow we can try to find another way out,” you reached over to where a modern rotary phone resided and tried dialing 119 but the dead dial tone playing through showed you that it was either broken or the calling services no longer worked. You sighed in exhaustion before falling to the side and resting your head on the arm rest of the chair. You could feel Gwi-nam’s eyes on you but didn’t bother looking up at him as your eyes fell heavily closed and your breathing seemed to even out on its own. The soft hand that fell onto your hair and gently caressed it away from your face didn’t help in keeping you awake and you felt your consciousness slipping through your fingers like sand at the beach.
The next morning, Gwi-nam woke with a start as he felt tapping on his arm and turned to see the one and only principal next to him. His hand fell away from where it limply rested atop your head and you let out a small groan of protest in your sleep which he would have thought was adorable if he wasn’t just rudely awoken by one of the last people he wanted to see. “Hey. You're Gwi-nam, right?” The principal asked him while he looked around nervously.
“What? Why?”
“How is it outside? Still the same?” He pestered and Gwi-nam groaned as he realized the situation he was still in, turning over in his seat to try and go back to sleep, now knowing neither you nor him were in any danger.
“You can drive a car, right?” The principal asked him and he just looked up at him before shaking his head lightly.
“I can't,” he denied.
“Come on!” The principal complained. “I had to cover up your mess last year when you guys drove your dad's car and caused an accident!” Gwi-nam just looked around in slight embarrassment before looking back up at him questioningly.
“Why do you ask?”
The principal reached into his pocket and retrieved a keychain with his car keys attached. “Here's my car key. It's in the parking lot. License plate, 7340,” he turned to go to his desk, opening a drawer and retrieving something from there before closing it loudly. Gwi-nam’s head snapped over to where you were still laying asleep and breathed out a sigh of relief when you didn’t even stir. “Bring it here,” the man walked over with a new pair of fresh socks in his hand and sat down on the couch beside you to put them on.
Gwi-nam slowly sat up and leaned forward with his elbows resting on his knees. “Why?” He questioned.
“Go to the night duty room and out the window, it's in the lot.”
Gwi-nam groaned, realizing what he was being asked to do and layed back in the chair with his feet resting on the coffee table. His head laid against the back of the cushion and his hand returned to resting on top of your head, lazily scratching your head with his fingertips. “No way.”
“You punk. Listen to your principal at once!” The man arrogantly ordered him but Gwi-nam just sat back up and looked at him in annoyance while he defied him.
“I said no,” his eyes looked over at his knife just as the principal’s did too and they both reached forward for the object at the same time. The principal was quicker and grabbed onto it, holding it out in front of him awkwardly but threateningly.
“Give me that,” Gwi-nam demanded before grabbing onto the principal’s wrist and wrestling him for it. “Give me that!”
“You punk!”
“I said to let go!” Gwi-nam raised his voice as he finally got the principal to let go and looked down at you briefly only to see you still sleeping peacefully on the chair. “Damn it,” he sighed quietly and waved the knife back and forth as he looked back at the principal who looked terrified.
“Fine. Just get out of here.”
“Go with me.” Gwi-nam insisted but the man shook his head in rebuttal.
“Why should I? You go.”
“Go with me to the car. It'd be nice to have a shield, anyway,” Gwi-nam told him while gesturing to the older man’s body as he explained the purpose he would be using him for.
“What's wrong with you? Stay away!” The principal picked up a plant pot from beside him and held it above his head as if he was going to throw it.
“My god. Look at you,” Gwi-nam degraded and rolled his eyes at how pathetic he looked. “All right, Mr. Principal. If this were a game, I'd be… happy to kill you… sir.”
“Stop! Stay away!” The older man begged after Gwi-nam took a step forward, his voice raising. “Why don’t you just take her!” He pointed down to where you were still sleeping peacefully, undisturbed by the loud noises coming from above around you and Gwi-nam hosted a smile for a moment before turning back to glare at his so-called principal.
“God, why does everything suggest that?” He took another threatening step forward. “Is it so fucking hard to see that she’s important to me? I guess everyone is just too fucking dense to see it.” The principal looked worried for his own safety and suddenly Gwi-nam had wrestled him down so he was pressed against the coffee table with his chest down. “And keep it down, would you? She may be a fucking deep sleeper but anyone would wake up with a voice annoying as yours blaring in their ears.”
Suddenly, the door burst open and a familiar face popped in.
Cheong-san looked back and forth between the two of them, his eyes falling on the sleeping girl on the couch before training back on where Gwi-nam had the principal restrained against the table.
“Is that the principal?” He questioned, confused.
“Get this jerk off my back!” The older man protested and begged. “Get this psychopath!”
“Shh! I told you to shut the fuck up, didn’t I?” Gwi-nam grabbed his collar roughly to stop him from talking.
“What the hell, Gwi-nam?” Cheong-san asked the bully only to receive no answer but a demand instead.
“Cheong-san. Come here and tie his arms. The bastard won't stay still.”
“Hey. What are you doing?” He questioned with his eyes blown wide in shock.
“Come and tie him up,” Gwi-nam tried again.
“You're finished. Do you hear me? I'm expelling you! Untie me now!” The principal yelled only for Gwi-nam to shush him again and press his knife against his throat.
“Gwi-nam! Stop that!”
“Stop what? This fucking guy…” he stood up, pointing towards the helpless and pathetic man on the table before pointing the knife towards himself. “Tried to kill me. He said to go out and get his car!” He then switched the knife to his other hand and pointed his now knife free hand towards you. “And he tried to make me use her as a shield!” Gwi-nam leaned back down over the principal and pressed the knife onto his neck again. “You call yourself a principal.”
He suddenly got off of the principal and hid the knife behind his back as he saw Cheong-san bring out a phone from his pocket and start recording him.
“That's right. Good idea!” The principal praised Cheong-san’s quick thinking.
“I'm filming everything,” the boy explained. “Let go, or I'm gonna send this to the police immediately.”
“You little… I will kill you,” Gwi-nam threatened.
“Just stop acting like human garbage. No one respects you just because you act tough.”
“I'm the new boss of this school,” Gwi-nam explained to him like it was obvious. “Don't you get it?”
“Don't make me laugh. You're just a fucking loser who will serve bullies for his entire life,” Cheong-san spat at him and Gwi-nam’s face fell to a much more intimidating and annoyed one. He let his arms fall from behind his back, the knife no longer hidden from the camera.
“Yeah? Say that again,” Gwi-nam dared him but turned around after the principal had maneuvered himself off the table so he was near you, his leg pumped into yours and you stirred faintly which caused Gwi-nam to rush forward, slicing the side of the principal’s neck where he fell to the floor and bled out.
He walked towards Cheong-san who lowered the phone down in shock after seeing what he just witnessed. “You fucking…” Cheong-san couldn’t finish his sentence because of his shock as Gwi-nam walked towards him slowly, wiping the blood from his knife into his red-stained white button up shirt.
“So am I… still a loser? Are you with me or not? The phone,” Gwi-nam stuck his hand out as he demanded him to give him the phone with the video on it.
“You just murder-”
“Give me the phone!”
Gwi-nam lunged forward, trying to slash at Cheong-san who narrowly avoided his attack. The two ran around each other and scuffled for a bit before Cheong-san got ahead and ran out of the room with the cell phone in his possession. The zombies in the hall followed after him and Gwi-nam ran after him before turning back to look at you where you were still sleeping. It amazed him how heavy of a sleeper you were, not waking up even after all of that chaos. He rushed forward, giving you a sweet kiss on your forehead before silently promising you he would be back, running out the door and softly closing it behind him before chasing after Cheong-san.
Soon enough, the two ended up in the library. After seeing Cheong-san getting mauled off of the top of a bookshelf, Gwi-nam jumped on top of the bookshelf and yanked the shirt of the boy who pushed him off, successfully returning the favor and causing the zombies to lunge for the fallen boy. Gwi-nam chased after Cheong-san, both boys avoiding zombies whenever they came into near contact with them. The latter had jumped up onto a bookshelf but was stopped when a couple of zombies had tried to pull his leg down so he would fall. He managed to kick them off him and got onto the bookshelf but one followed him up. It miscalculated its jump and slammed into the light, bringing it down with it as it fell to the ground. Cheong-san had no time to breathe in relief as he saw Gwi-nam appear on top of another bookshelf and jump after him. They both scrambled after and away from each other, now crouching next to each other only separated by the gap of the two bookshelves and the zombies below.
“Cut it out,” Cheong-san grit out while both of them breathed heavily.
“Give me the fucking phone,” Gwi-nam demanded and held out his hand, waiting impatiently. He was desperate to get back to you, desperate to just hold you again and finally be able to say what he’d been too much of a coward to for the past three years. Now might as well be the perfect time.
“You killed the principal. You're a murderer.”
“You made me kill him, you shit!” Gwi-nam hissed. “You wanted proof I wasn't a coward.”
“You're insane.”
Gwi-nam slowly stood up, ready to fight and Cheong-san followed his lead. They stared into each other’s eyes for a moment before Cheong-san dashed in the other direction. Gwi-nam followed and lunged for the boy’s legs, knocking him down so he hit his head on the top of a bookshelf before falling to the floor where zombies quickly followed after and tried to take a bite of his flesh. Unfortunately, or fortunately depending on who you asked, Cheong-san managed to get back up on a bookshelf only to find Gwi-nam already there. He kicked him in the stomach only to have ended up landing on his back with Cheong-san on top of him, trying to stop all of his attacks. The bookshelf rattled from the two’s fighting and from the zombies below trying to knock them over.
Gwi-nam noticed the pulling the zombies had been doing to the bottom of his pant leg and screamed at them, “Get off me!”
Just as he managed to get the zombies off and stood up, Cheong-san pulled down the light above them and slammed it against Gwi-nam’s back. An act that seemed to have no effect. The boy grabbed Cheong-san and slammed him down against the bookshelf before forcing his head over the edge and making it so he was dangling above the zombies who reached up and tried to grab at his hair.
“Should I save you?” Gwi-nam taunted. “What do you say? Beg for your life. Come on.”
“Screw you,” the other boy refused and Gwi-nam pulled his head up to punch him a few times, succeeding in knocking him out before searching his pants for the phone.
Just as he found it and tried to search for the photos app, Cheong-san woke up again and hit the phone out of his reach, just barely managing to catch it in his other hand above the zombie horde who reached endlessly for a bit of his flesh. Gwi-nam angrily resorted to choking him to try and get him to either pass out again or to reluctantly give him the phone.
Neither of which happened.
Gwi-nam screamed and whimpered in agony as he found himself with the edge of the phone lodged in his eyes, screaming even more as he then found himself being pushed off of the bookshelf and into the void of death below.
He fought for a way out, pushing the zombies away but only ending up to where he was laying against the top of a table and the zombies piled on top of him. He reached out for Cheong-san, now begging for his own life in an act of life’s cruel irony. “Damn it! Shit! Help me! Cheong-san! Fuck! Oh, please!” He begged and begged but Cheong-san only looked down at him before looking away, trying to plan for his escape. Gwi-nam cursed him silently, vowing to end his life and not let him get away with this.
“I'll kill you. I will kill you. Fuck you,” He cursed him in his head. “I'll…”
He stopped moving all together as his body gave in to the call of death, only leaving one last thought as he left the land of the living.
You.
Less than an hour later, Gwi-nam awoke in the same spot on the table, confused and scared as zombies still surrounded him. He looked down and pinch lightly at where he saw a bite mark had appeared on his stomach. “Oh, shit. Did I die? Am I dead?”
Suddenly zombies came running towards him after hearing the noise. He gasped and flinched back as he prepared himself to be attacked again only for the zombie to stop short after smelling him. More followed but none attacked him. They all just turned away like there was nobody there.
“Hey!” He experimented after the zombies turned around, looking for their next prey. They all turned back to him but turned back around after not smelling fresh meat.
A small smirk started to cover his face as he started to realize what was happening. “Aren't you gonna eat me, you zombie bastards?”
When they all growled but made no move to attack him. He let out a confused laugh before deciding to stand up, still cautious of the zombies surrounding him. When none of them tried to go after him, the fear he harbored started to dim and he gained more confidence with every step. He walked up to where a cracked mirror was and took slow steps as the memory of Cheong-san stabbing him with the edge of the phone refilled his mind. He slowly touched his eye, wincing when it stung a tiny bit but much less than he expected it to.
“Cheong-san, you son of a bitch! I'll kill you,” he vowed before his one good eye widened in realization. “Fuck!”
He started panicking as he thought about you being all alone before realizing he had closed the door and you were safely inside, probably still asleep from how deep of a sleeper you were. He calmed down and walked around, finding a ONE HEART club jacket and putting it on after taking off his blood-stained white button-up.
“What the fuck?” He sighed as he put the jacket on and zipped it up. “That means…” He paused as he looked around at the zombies who were growling and running into the walls around him. “I'm God.”
He rolled his eyes at the zombies before making his way back towards the principal’s office. He opened the door quickly and entered the room before any zombies could follow up behind him. He walked over and saw you in the same position he had left you in with your head resting on the arm rest and your legs curled up. He let out a small and quiet laugh as he walked over, making sure to be quiet as he gently lifted you from the couch and gathered you in his arms so you were sitting on his lap with your head resting against the curve of his neck. You let out a small groan of protest as your eyes fluttered open slightly.
“Gwi-nam?” You whispered out in confusion and tried to lift your head but he just gently pushed you back into his chest which you followed without any more complaint. “Where’d you go?” You asked, your words mumbling together and he cursed himself for you waking up while he was absent.
“I just had to deal with some things, but I’m back now.”
“You should’ve woken me up,” you scolded him lightly while wrapping your arms around his torso.
“But then you would’ve been awake and I would’ve had to listen to your dumbass scolding me,” he teased lightly and you lightly slapped the back of his arm from where you were holding him.
“Jerk.”
He smiled softly and leaned his head on top of your own, his cheek pressed to your crown, waiting for you to go back to sleep. He wasn’t satisfied until he heard your breathing even out once more. Lifting his head up, he looked down at you with a soft gaze as you breathed in deep breaths through your nose. Every exhale would softly blow against his neck but he didn't care. He tried to suppress his emotions but couldn’t stop the love bubbling underneath his skin and threatening to escape. He leaned down and pressed a loving kiss to your forehead before leaning his head back onto yours and closing his eyes, trying to get more sleep of his own.
“To hell with Cheong-san,” he thought to himself. “I’m never leaving you again.”

── being kai anderson’s manipulative girlfriend hc
tags: fem! reader. nsfw + sfw. kai is a warning himself, you aren’t any better though (manipulative behavior.) talks of murder, sex
taglist || masterlist
Tumblr media
☪︎ ִ ࣪my friend said that this hc sounds like how she’d imagine my relationship with Kai. kind of a low blow but also the best compliment ever so.. no complaints
Tumblr media
your ability to see through his lies and manipulation frustrates him to no end, as Kai was accustomed to everyone doing whatever he told them to
you won’t follow every single order Kai gave you, unless you think it’s feasible. most of the time, you operate on your own terms
your independent activities would annoy Kai, as he prefers to maintain control over all activities in F.I.T
however, once he recognizes how your actions benefit the cult's agenda, his fury would give way to reluctant admiration
as his girlfriend and second in command, you hold a delicate position in the cult - dangerously close to the centre of power and yet somehow the safest, as your connection to him gives you some degree of protection
any cult member who annoys you? good as dead. you’d find a way to frame them or make Kai get suspicious of them
he hates it when you boss the other cult members around, but also secretly thinks it’s kinda hot
Winter would have mixed feelings about you. she thinks you’re cool but she’s also lowkey afraid of you because you remind her of her brother sometimes
you’re the only one who can keep Kai in line (sort of)
but you’re also capable of making him worse. and vice versa (couple goals)
he puts a tracker in your phone, which you found out and dismantled it
pinky power is completely pointless
it’ll be personal contest— who’s the better liar? you two have the best poker faces
you were the first one to drink the “poisoned” kool aid. risky move but worth it
you carry a bottle of Adderall for Kai at all times. he even trusts you enough to let you administer the pill directly into his mouth
ways to manipulate him
kill for him. that’s an instant hard-on
feed that ego. you praise his leadership skills, intelligence and charisma, deepening his belief in his own superiority
mother him. wash his hair when you shower together. assist him with shaving. lay out his clothes for him. make him manwiches
behind the guise of nurturing gestures, every act of practical care serves as a small manipulation, reinforcing his dependency on you while gradually asserting your influence over him
you’ll have him wrapped around your little finger
councilman at day, clown at night
you’d play a crucial role in his election campaigns, acting as the perfect arm candy to bolster his public image
in public settings, you display affection in subtle yet very calculated ways:
holding hands, staring into each others eyes, sharing deep kisses— strategically timed for the cameras to capture
and the media would eat it all up
it’ll enhance Kai's image as a loving and passionate partner
you were the one who came up with the staged assassination stunt
Meadow was getting too close to Kai, and it irked you. so you planted that idea into Kai’s head, and he put it into action
Meadow got laid and then died, Kai got elected councilman, and you have your man all to yourself.. win-win-win situation!
wear a sexy clown outfit that comes with a corset and shows cleavage
it will distract Kai and piss him off because he has to maintain his dignity as a leader while trying to hide his raging boner
violence also turns him on; Kai likes his girls crazy. be the harley quinn to his joker
incorporate deadpan humour. during these fucked up situations, gotta lighten up the mood with disturbing and witty remarks
nsfw headcanons
Kai would ask you to seduce more followers into joining the cult
and the hypocrite would get so jealous, even though it was his idea
sex will be bomb though. he’d put in extra effort to prove that he’s superior
you give each other hickeys, lots
needless to say, you’d be the sub. that’s basically the no.1 rule in your relationship
better to squeeze a few tears during sex. it’ll fuel his ego, big time
if you’re giving him head, gag on purpose
he tells you that once he becomes president of the U.S, you’d be First Lady and he’ll fuck you in every single room in the White House (132 in total)
needless to say that you’re going to be the perfect mother of his messiah baby
Tumblr media
a/n: i’m actually a sweetheart, don’t listen to my friend. oh and buzz-cut kai can rail me

Tumblr media
Yunho stood outside your apartment door, holding onto a box that contained your possessions. He could smell the rosy scent of the shampoo that you left in his shower. He had spent all morning collecting your belongings into this box, proud that he finally made an effort to be rid of you once and for all. But that rosy smell, that same scent that he’d wake up to after you spent the night was making him second guess himself. No, stop it, he said to himself. Just stick to the plan Yunho.
The plan was simple. Yunho would go to your apartment after work and knock on your door, fully aware that you probably weren’t home. You were most likely at San’s or Yeosang’s place right now, getting shit-faced drunk and having sweaty sex on their beat-up couches, head too fuzzy in bliss to even spare a single thought about him. But he thought he would knock anyway, just as a courtesy. He’d wait for ten seconds, and when you don’t answer, he’d shrug in a “welp, I tried” kind of way before placing the box on your doorstep. He’ll take a deep breath while looking at your door that he knew all too well one last time and then head towards the stairwell exit, with his head held high, showing no intention of turning back.
Yunho was partly to blame for the way things ended, and he knew that. You made yourself very clear in the beginning. “Listen Yunho, you’re really sweet,” You said after he confessed to you all those months ago at the campus library where you two first met, “But I’m not looking for anything serious. I don’t really do relationships. You get what I mean?”
He knew exactly what you meant. ‘Dating’ was an ancient term. Nobody ‘dated’ anymore. What replaced this archaic social practice were one-night stands, situation-ships, friends with benefits, hookups, etc. No one wanted a ‘serious’ relationship anymore because that meant having to give your mind, body, and soul to someone, and why bother with all that when you can just give them one of the three?
Even though most of his peers shared the same sentiment as you when it came to relationships, Yunho didn’t agree with it at all. Maybe he was old-fashioned for wanting something more than a quick fuck. Looking back on it now, he regretted not taking the hint. It was evident that you wanted a guy you could fool around with when you were bored, someone who’s emotionally unavailable so you don’t have to worry about attachments and sudden ‘L’ bombs when you’re just trying to get your fix. But Yunho, who was so pathetically infatuated with you at the time, so much so that it blocked away all rational thinking, decided that he’ll be whatever kind of guy you wanted him to be if it meant that he could be with you. The foolish romantic was now part of a no strings attached relationship.
He felt incredibly stupid for getting involved with you. What did he expect? That after all the mindless sex, you’d fall as hard for him as he did for you, and finally agree to be his girlfriend? He had so much to learn. No strings attached meant no strings attached. That meant less conversation and more action. Less getting to know each other and more getting to know about what was in between your legs. It meant no longing stares, although he was guilty of watching you sleep in his arms from time to time. It also meant being okay with the fact that he was not the only guy you were seeing. And that’s when the fights would ensue.
“Who was that guy?” Yunho demanded, making sure to use his quiet-yelling voice out of respect for the other patrons of the library. He was referring to the pale, blonde-haired guy from the dining hall earlier. He didn’t like how close he was standing next to you. He especially didn’t like it when he leaned in to whisper in your ear, or how you giggled when he placed his hands over your waist and how you rubbed your hands over his flexed muscles. You chewed on your gum, tracing your fingers over the etched golden text on the book spines on the historical fiction shelf. You almost didn’t hear him at first, too preoccupied with finding your next bedtime read.
“Hmm? Oh, that guy? Just someone I’ve been seeing. Why, you jealous?”
It was a joke. There was no such thing as ‘jealousy’ in a no strings attached relationship. You smiled up at him, expecting to see him roll his eyes from your playful jab, but instead, he looked away from you. Even with his side profile facing you, you could read the tinge of irritation on his face. You frowned.
“Oh come on Pookie,” You pouted, squeezing his cheeks and turning his head to face you. You chuckled after seeing his lips puckered up like a fish. “Don’t be like that. Come on, I can’t be the only girl you’re seeing, right?”
He placed his hand on your wrist and pulled you off him. “Whatever.” He moped. He watched as your eyes widened in sudden realization.
“No…” You gasped dramatically, bringing your hand up to cover your mouth. “I’m the only one you’ve been seeing?”
He stayed quiet, not understanding why you worded it that way. Was it really a bad thing that you were the only girl on his mind?
“Oh god, you’re so cute!” You tittered. “I thought with a dick like yours, you’d be very popular. It’s a shame you’re not sharing it. I know a lot of girls who would love to take you out for a spin.”
“Keep your voice down.” Yunho hissed, looking around to see if anyone heard your distasteful choice of words. Luckily, no one was around at your corner of the library. “And stop talking like that. I don’t like it when you talk about me like that.”
“It was a compliment!” You defended yourself. Yunho refused to meet your eyes, busying himself with pulling out random books and reading the blurbs on the backside, although he was too upset to even acknowledge what he was reading. You sighed again, feeling a little bad for making him so upset. You’d often forget that Yunho was more sensitive than your other partners and that he needed extra kindness and assurance. You wrapped your arms around his big body and rested your cheek against his back.
“Okay, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to tease you so much.” He stayed quiet, putting back the book and pulling out another. “Please don’t be mad.” You begged.
“I’m not mad,” He murmured. “I just thought…I don’t know, I thought I was the only guy you were seeing.”
“Does it bother you that you’re not?” You questioned, letting go of him. Yunho looked back at you, his chest tightening at your furrowed brows. He worried that he said the wrong thing again. He was new to the no strings attached community, and would often let his possessiveness and sensitivity peek through.
“No,” He lied. “I just…Forget it.”
You mulled over his response, trying hard to understand why he was so upset, to begin with. Your silence made Yunho nervous. Everything about you made him nervous.
Then, your eyes sparked when you finally understood. “Ohh…I get it.” You nodded.
His shoulders tensed up. “You do?”
“Yes, and you have nothing to worry about. Out of everyone, you’re my favorite.” You stood on your tippy toes and gave him a quick peck on the cheek, satisfied that you solved the puzzle and were able to calm his nerves.
Yunho gave you a shy smile. He didn’t want to smile, but he figured it was best to do so, so that you could believe that he was lashing out over the fear of being replaced, and not because he didn’t wish to share you with other guys.
You continued on. “You worried me for a second. I thought you were one of those guys that don’t like it when a girl has a mind of her own.”
“No,” he chuckled nervously, “No, I don’t mind that at all.”
“Good,” you chirped, going back to your search. “You wouldn’t believe some of the guys I’ve been with. They get so clingy, and it gets annoying after a while. I’m glad you’re not like that. Other guys…they don’t get it.  We’re young. It’s better we have fun while we can, or else we’ll live to regret it when we’re old and wrinkly and can’t get any.”
Yunho hummed in agreement, although he didn’t agree with you at all. He thought about his grandparents. They lived in a small apartment just outside of the city. His parents would complain about how small their living space was, and offered to help them move into a more spacious apartment, but his grandparents always refused. “If we move into a bigger apartment, we won’t be able to see each other. This size is perfect,” His grandmother would say, “I turn around and he’s right behind me. It’s how it should be. Anything farther, and we’d miss each other too much.”
It always warmed his heart just how inseparable those two were, even in their old age. He wanted that for himself one day. How wonderful would it be to grow old with the person you love most?
Later that night, while you were showering, he remained in your bed, thinking about what you said earlier. Was he really your favorite? Did you really like him more than the other guys you were seeing? Or was his dick just bigger than theirs? He tried not to think about that too much and focused on going to sleep.
-
And when it wasn’t him being upset with you, it was you getting annoyed with him.
“Do you really have to go?” Yunho whined. He was sitting up on his bed, watching you as you shuffled around his room, bending down to pick up the discarded pieces of clothing.
“I already told San I’d meet up with him later.” You huffed as you shimmied into your jeans. Yunho didn’t like how quickly you were getting dressed. It was as if you were eager to get away from him.
“San?” He scoffed. “You mean that bartender that kept eye fucking you right in front of me?”
Yunho remembered San. A lot of the girls from your University frequented that bar on the corner of Main Street, hoping to get served by the handsome devil in all black. He’s seen a lot of the girls write their phone numbers on the twenty-dollar bills they tipped him with. It was ridiculous. Everything about him was ridiculous, from the cheap hair gel he used to slick back his hair, to his sleazy smile, along with his overly tight t-shirts and shiny black leather pants. But he didn’t mind him too much, not until that night when you two went in for a drink, and the so-called ‘handsome devil in all black’ ruthlessly flirted with you when he was clearly sitting right next to you with his hand on your thigh to mark that you were taken. Yunho didn’t know what angered him more. San’s shit-eating grin or the fact that you let him flirt with you in the first place.
You rolled your eyes. “Yeah, that guy.” You really didn’t like it when he got emotional, and Yunho could sense your discomfort. He immediately regretted what he said and grabbed you by your arm before you could leave, pleading to you with his eyes.
“I’m sorry, okay? I didn’t mean to upset you. But can’t you just stay a little longer? It’s already so late. I thought you could spend the night. We could rent a movie?” He offered.
You picked up your jacket and purse, not even bothering to put them on before you left. “Look, I’ll call you okay?” You pressed a quick kiss to his lips and then went out the door before he could protest again. Yunho slumped back against the headboard, the sound of the door slamming behind you echoing in his head. How do you keep letting this happen, Yunho? She comes and goes, that’s what she does. She’s not here to hold hands and watch a fucking movie. She wants to fuck and then move on to the next guy. Seriously, do you have any respect for yourself?
And that’s how the cycle would begin. Yunho would get tired of you and your bullshit, tired of being discarded right after helping you cum, tired of driving himself mad over who you were seeing and what you were doing with him, just tired of being an option. It wasn’t him. He wanted you and your full devotion, and when he finally realized that there was no way you would give that to him, he’d call it off.
The first few weeks of being free from you would go well. He’d be at peace like he got rid of a bad cold and could finally breathe again. But that small period of relief wouldn’t last very long. Truth was, Yunho wasn’t good at being alone. And soon, he’d miss your touch, your smell, and hearing your laugh. He’d miss the moments he spent with you in the library, like when you two would play footsies under the table during your late-night midterm study sessions, or the times you two would fight for the aux cord in his car, eager to show each other new songs you were obsessing over at the moment. He’d find himself listening to the songs you showed him, but they didn’t sound the same anymore.
He’d miss hearing you talk about your day or your thoughts about rent control and the current economic crisis. And then he’d miss the nights he spent with you, how your body reacted to his fingertips, the way you’d press your eyes shut when he entered you, and the pretty sounds you let out when you were close to your peak. And then he’d think about that one night you showed up at his apartment, unannounced. You were upset, it was telling from your reddened lips and tear-stained cheeks. You wouldn’t say why you were upset, and after asking a couple of times, Yunho decided to just let leave you be. He then invited you in and let you lead the way to his bed. It started the way any other night started, with you two hungrily ripping each other’s clothing off, but before he could spread your legs, you suddenly pressed your hand to his chest and asked him to stop. “No, not like this…Can we-” You looked away from his piercing gaze, a rush of frustration and confusion coursing through your stomach until you finally spit the words out. “Can we just lay here?”
Yunho looked down at you with sincerity in his eyes, and he wanted to ask you one more time what was wrong. But seeing you so hurt, so tired, so in need of someone to just hold you while you cried, he decided to hold his tongue. He pulled you into his arms without question, letting you wet his chest with your spilled tears. And when he felt goosebumps prickle up on your skin, he covered both your naked bodies with a blanket and held you tighter. You finally fell asleep, your worries being absorbed by Yunho and his warm embrace, and Yunho couldn’t help but feel a little enraptured watching you sleep so peacefully in his arms. He’s had you in every way, in every position, seen every crevice of your beautiful body, but this. This is what he wanted most in the world. This is how he wanted you. And he hoped that by the next morning, that’s how you’d want him too. But when morning came, Yunho woke up alone, with nothing but the faint smell of roses on his pillowcase. When he asked you about it later that day on campus, you suddenly went cold and demanded he never bring it up again.
He thought about that night, your body, those Omar Apollo songs you showed him, the library study sessions, just every single moment that he’s ever spent with you, driving himself mad to the point where the desire for you would be overwhelming and too strong to ignore and he’d ultimately give in and crawl back into bed with you, allowing you to use him as you wanted, feeling again like a dog on your leash. It would feel good for a bit, until those same old feelings resurfaced and he’d call it off once again, repeating the never-ending cycle of your no strings attached relationship.
But this time, things were going to be different. He wasn’t going to continue this cycle. You weren’t good for him, and it was time he let go and move on. That’s why he packed all your stuff and came to drop them off. It was official. There was no going back from this. All he had to do now was stick to the plan.
Yunho shifted the box to his side and used his free hand to knock on the door. He took a deep breath and counted in his head.
One.
Two.
Three.
Four.
Five-
The door swung open, interrupting his counting. You stood at the door frame in nothing but your bathrobe, your wet hair dripping puddles around your feet. Yunho was at a loss for words. This wasn’t part of the plan. He didn’t know what to do. He didn’t prepare for this. He didn’t, sorry, couldn’t see you, because it would just make things harder. It was like flaunting a cigarette in front of someone who just quit smoking. He wasn’t strong enough to resist you. He was addicted to you and he worried that he would relapse again.
“Oh, Yunho.” You acknowledged, crossing your arms over your chest. He held onto the box tighter, feeling himself twitch from the sound of you calling his name. You peered into the box, recognizing the articles of clothing and personal hygiene products. “Is that my stuff?”
Yunho struggled at first, forgetting for a moment how to speak coherently. “Uh- yes, it is. I came to drop them off. Here.” He blubbered, pushing the box towards you. You took it from his hands, not expecting it to be so heavy. You didn’t realize you left so many things at his place.
“Oh. Thanks.”
A silence weighed in between you, both of you looking at each other awkwardly, unsure of what to say next. Right, Yunho thought to himself, there’s nothing left to say. You did your part, now walk right out.
“Well, I should head back. Goodnight, Y/N.”
Yunho turned on his heel and made his way out of the long corridor. Part of him didn’t want to reach the end of the hall, but he pushed himself anyway, reminding himself over and over to not look back. As painful as it was, it needed to happen. It was for the best.
“Wait,” You called after him.
And just like that, Yunho immediately stopped in his tracks, not hesitating this time to turn around. It almost brought him some relief, like he had been holding his breath for too long, and now you finally gave him permission to exhale. “Yes?” He beamed.
You stepped out from the door frame and into the hall so you were right across from where Yunho stood. “Do you want to come in?”
“What?” He asked, dumbfounded, almost believing that he must have heard you wrong.
“I mean, your stuff,” You clarified, “I still have some of your stuff in my apartment if you wanted to come in and grab them.” It was kind of pathetic, the way you tripped over your words, but you couldn’t bare saying goodbye just yet. No, you’re not catching feelings, you assured yourself. You just wanted him around you for a little bit longer. Maybe it was selfish of you to keep pulling on his leash like this, but for the moment, you didn’t care.
“Oh, right. That would be great, actually.”
-
Yunho knew he would hate himself for letting this happen. All that progress getting chucked out the window on account of his lack of self-control. But how could you blame him? With the way your damp strands curled around your flushed cheeks, the smell of your rosy shampoo that had been seared into his nostrils by now, and the fact that all he had to do was undue your robe to see your beautiful glistening body that was so ready for him to take. It was all so easy. You handed him the apple and all he had to do was take a bite.
“Fuck, Yunho!” You cried out, grasping his bare back for dear life as he frantically thrust into you. He was angry, angry at himself that he let this happen again, and angry at you for making him so weak. He only put just the tip in, but you could’ve sworn you were seeing stars from the stretch alone.
“Unbelievable,” He grunted. “Even after the hundred times we fucked, your little pussy still can’t take my cock?”
You’d never seen this side of Yunho. Usually, he was nice and gentle with you, always studying the arch of your brows to see if he was taking things too far or not. It was sweet at first, but sometimes you’d wish he’d just take you and fuck you like an animal. It seemed your wish was finally granted. “P-Please! All of it, I want all of it Yunho, please!” Was all you could muster out.
He pulled out of you in an instant, and before you could whine, he forcibly flipped you over and pulled you back by your hips until your ass smacked into his pelvis. Yunho kept you down with his hand pressed against the space between your shoulder blades as he lined himself up with your aching center.
Yunho rubbed himself against your slick folds, occasionally slapping his tip over your swollen clit, making your hips jolt with anticipation. “You want it all? ‘Guess those other guys don’t fill you up as much as you want, huh? Poor thing.” He continued dragging his cock over your folds, your soft whimpers only feeding into his ego.
Just when he thought you had enough, he guided his cock into your hole, the stretch forcing you to tear up once again. You grasped at your bed sheets and pressed your eyes shut, preparing yourself for the rest of him as your lips coated in salty tears.
He pushed the rest of him into you with a struggle, his hips stagnant as he waited for you to adjust to his size. “Fuck!” You gasped, your voice cracking as he started up again. Each thrust was deep, calculated, and they didn’t fail to rip a moan out of you.
His fingers, now coated with your essence, tweaked and twisted at your clit. It was all too much for you, really, the sheer length of him plowing into your walls, the brutal pace he set on account of his anger, along with the way he toyed at your clit. Yunho could sense you were close, having known your body long enough to know when you were about to be sent over the edge. He stopped teasing your bud and instead slipped his fingers past your lips and you readily let him in, swirling your tongue around his digits to clean yourself off him. He grinned to himself, pleased to see that you knew exactly what to do without any instruction.
Suddenly, he pulled his fingers out from you and cupped your jaw with his large hand, pulling you back until your head was against his chest, keeping your face there so you were forced to look up at him. He peered down at you with his full attention, completely engrossed by just how pretty and sinful you looked in this position. “Stay like that,” He breathed “‘wanna see you when you cum all over my cock.”
He came first, your orgasm approaching soon after. You babbled incoherently as his cum flooded your walls, forcing your eyes to roll to the back of your head. Yunho was completely enamored with you like this, your parted and swollen lips and your half-lidded eyelids almost making him shoot a second load into you. He disconnected from you and you fell forward onto the bed, catching your breath as you came down from your high. You felt dizzy and sweaty, and your head was so cloudy that you were unable to form a thought that wasn’t already so scrambled. As you relaxed, you felt Yunho’s breath over your hip right before he planted soft kisses on your lower back all the way up to your shoulder. His kisses were sweet and careful, almost like he was making up for being so rough with you. Soon enough, he retired from your shoulder and moved on to the side of your face, brushing his pillowy lips on your temple, to your wet eyes, to your cheek, until you craned your neck back and allowed him to meet your lips.
It was almost foreign to you, to have someone care this deeply for you even after the act. None of your other partners behaved this way, and you were lucky if they even remembered to toss you a towel. But Yunho, he was different. He treated you as something more, and maybe it made you feel bad that you didn’t do the same for him. It was overwhelming, his soft kisses, his careful touches, the way he’d beg you to stay over, and the way he almost looked hurt when you say you can’t. Poor Yunho. He was in love with you, and you knew it. You hated yourself for toying with a man with good intentions. But what was the alternative? You couldn’t be his, and he couldn’t be yours. You made a promise to yourself years ago that you’d never be foolish enough to fall in love ever again. This had to stop, you should’ve stopped it months ago, but you were selfish. And lonely. The guilt you’ve been bottling up inside of you was too much to handle, and you knew you had to do something before you exploded.
Feeling disgusted with yourself, you pulled away from his lips. Yunho raised a brow at the sudden gesture. “What’s wrong?” He asked, his slightly concerned tone making your heart shatter into pieces.
“You should get going. It’s late.” You got up, forcing Yunho to pull off of you. He watched you as you went over to your dresser to pull out a fresh pair of pajamas, completely dumbfounded by your sudden coldness.
“Are you fucking serious?” He scoffed.
You shook your head, picking up his t-shirt that lay on the floor and tossing it over to him. His eyes flickered in anger and he threw his shirt back on the ground. “I don’t understand, why do you always do this!?”
You stayed quiet, quickly covering yourself before turning around to face him, keeping your eyes low, feeling too ashamed to meet his. “I’m sorry, but I need you to go.”
Yunho clenched his jaw. How could you be so cold? How could you invite him in, only to toss him out so abruptly? He thought about how you melted right into his embrace, how you kissed him back with the same amount of passion that he kissed you with. Was any of it real? Or was he too infatuated to notice that you were playing him, again?
“Why? Is Yeosang coming over? Do you really think that guy cares about you?”
You balled your fists up at the mention of Yeosang. “Stop.” You warned.
“And San? He’d fuck anything with two legs and a heartbeat. Is that what you want?”
“Yes, Yunho, that’s exactly what I want!” You snapped. A silence weighed in before Yunho’s lips curled up in an unexpected smile.
“What?” You teethed.
He shook his head in disbelief. “You don’t know what you want. That’s why you keep coming back to me.”
“Me?” You pointed to yourself, a crooked smile now spread across your lips. “No, it’s you that keeps coming back to me.” You jeered.
“And you let me! Why do you let me!? Time after time, you take me back without question, why?”
You crossed your arms and looked away from his direction. You felt hot, like the blood in your veins was boiling. You didn’t want to deal with this. You felt stupid for letting him in. Yunho always had questions, so many questions, and you couldn’t give him any answers. Fed up with your silence, Yunho got up and walked towards you, almost closing the gap between you two. You still didn’t look at him.
“And that night. Why did you come to me? Why didn’t you go to your other boyfriends? You were so different. Why did you act like it never happened the next day?”
Your breath hitched in your throat. Your expression softened remembering that night. It was so cold and rainy that night, and Yunho felt so warm. He made you feel so loved, so cared for, and for once you felt like you deserved someone like him. But the morning sun gave you some clarity, and you were reminded once again of what happens when you fully give your heart to someone. Yunho didn’t see it now, but he’ll understand it one day. Love is a wasted emotion. It gives and gives, until one day it takes everything back from you, and more.
“I don’t know.” You sighed.
That wasn’t good enough for him. He took another step forward, the tips of your noses now just centimeters away from each other. “I’ll tell you why,” He said, his voice softer than earlier. “It’s because you like me. It’s because I’m the only one who really understands you, the only one who sees more to you than just your body. That’s why you keep taking me back. It’s why you came to me that night. You knew you could be vulnerable with me, and that I wouldn’t turn you away, because-” He paused for a moment to lick his lips. “Because I like you too, y/n.”
Tears welled up in your eyes, and you tried to ignore the sting so that you wouldn’t blink and force them to run down your cheeks. Your chest felt like it was engulfed in flames, making your breathing unsteady. You were too caught up in your emotions to realize that Yunho closed the gap and pressed his lips onto yours, his hands firmly placed at your waist.
He always kissed you like he wasn’t going to see you for a while. Maybe it was a force of habit considering all the times Yunho had ended things between you two. Or maybe, as he said, he liked you, and he wanted you to know from his touch if his words didn’t suffice. It felt right kissing him, real. Not like all the other times with your boy toys, who only kissed you because that’s just what came naturally when you're both rolling around naked in bed. Yunho never only kissed you on the lips, but everywhere else as well, your eyes, cheeks, forehead, and just every feature of you that made his heart swell and anywhere he could put his lips on if you let him.
It was so easy. All you had to do was wrap your arms around his neck and kiss him back, leave this no strings attached bullshit behind, and let him lead the way. But you were reminded, reminded of him again, the one who took your heart and snapped it into two, the one who lead you to keep people at a distance and hurt them before they hurt you. That’s what you needed to do now, you told yourself. You had to hurt him. It made your heart ache even thinking of hurting Yunho, but you would be doing him a favor, even if he didn’t realize it now. You were damaged goods, not fit for sale. He’d be better off.
You pushed your hands on his chest to get him off you. Yunho, looking at you with such hope and hurt in his eyes, holding onto your hands that you used to keep him at a distance. He didn’t say anything, instead waiting for you to explain.
Your eyes were down at your feet, too afraid to look him in the eye and say your next words. “I’m sorry Yunho, but I just don’t feel the same.”
Yunho didn’t speak for a while. You wanted to look up at him, but you knew that seeing his reaction would crush you. You told yourself not to look. It was easier this way.
“You don’t mean that.” Yunho kept his voice steady, even though he could feel a slight lump forming in his throat. “I know you feel the same, y/n.”
You shook your head and a few droplets of tears splashed onto the carpet and onto your toes. “I’m sorry, but I don’t.”
His hands let go of yours and he immediately brushed his fingers under your chin, forcing you to tilt your head up. “You really don’t feel what I feel? Then why don’t you look at me and say it?”
He gazed down at you, waiting for your eyes to meet his, getting impatient with you when they didn’t. “Look at me and say you don’t want me.”
Overwhelmed, you moved your head around and pushed him off of you, too consumed in your rage to realize that for once that night, you were finally meeting his eyes.
“I don’t want you. I never cared for you. You were just a distraction. Whatever you think was going on, it’s not true. You don’t know me, you don’t know what’s going on in my head, so don’t act as you do! For the love of god Yunho, just get the fuck out!”
You panted after letting your frustrations out, the room now silent again. Nothing could have prepared you for the look on Yunho’s face right now. His sweet face was painted in constraint, his once cheery and sparkling brown eyes now glossy and downcast. You could feel your heart being ripped out of your chest, and for a moment you wanted to rush over to him and tell him you didn’t mean it, that you’ll do whatever he wants, be whatever he wants, as long as he stops making that face, but your legs stayed immobile and the words tangled up in your throat.
Yunho looked at you for a while, waiting to see if you would take those words back, but you never did. Swallowing the painful lump in his throat, he picked up his shirt from the floor and got dressed. You leaned back on your dresser, watching him as he put on his coat and slipped on his shoes. There was so much time to say something, anything, but neither of you uttered a word, and Yunho understood now that he said all that he needed to say, and that he couldn’t change your mind, even if he tried.
He was now at your entry door, and you followed behind him, staying back a couple of feet as you prepared to watch him leave your life once and for all. As he held onto the knob, he turned his head slightly, as if he wanted to say something, but decided against it, and went on with turning the knob, his tall frame disappearing behind the closing door.
You wanted to crawl into a ball and cry right there on the floor, but you stayed strong. You’re not crying over a guy again, you promised yourself. Even if it hurts…It’s for the best.

Finals were almost over, and the Library was seeing a reduction in visitors. The staff was partly relieved, enjoying the empty space and not having to be bothered to tell students to be quiet, confiscate their Cheeto bags (even though there’s a bold NO EATING sign at almost every table), and wake up tired students from their naps to tell them the library was closing. But there was one visitor who came almost daily and sat at the same exact spot in the same exact section. The Historical Fiction section.
The librarians didn’t know what his deal was. He’d come in with absolutely nothing, no backpack, no laptop, no textbook. They even doubted he brought his phone. Sometimes, he’d take a book off the historical fiction shelf and crack it open, although, unbeknownst to the library staff, he wasn’t actually reading anything. He tried to, but then his head would get fuzzy and he’d get lost in thought, his eyes darting around every time he heard the Library door open or footsteps approach his section, only for it to be another student or a staff member, and when he’d sigh and look back down at his book, he’d forget where he left off and start from the beginning again.
They didn’t know he was waiting on a girl. If they did, they would probably feel bad for him, and maybe even find his efforts to be a little pathetic. But to Yunho, it didn’t matter to him what they thought. Being the tortured romantic that he was, he still had hope that you two would be together again. He wasn’t going to crawl back to you like all the other times. Instead, he was going to wait. He believed the day would come where you’d grow sick from your passing relationships and realize your true feelings for him. And when you realize that, you’ll come running to the Library where you two first met, and you would find him there, sitting at your table in your special little corner of the Library. He’d greet you with a friendly smile, and pull out a chair for you, and you two would just pick up where you left off as if nothing else ever happened. Maybe then he’d take you out on a real date, maybe to a fancy restaurant which neither of you could pronounce the name of, and afterward, you’d crash at his place and you’d lay in his arms just as you did that night, and he’d whisper corny jokes into your hair, both of you laughing softly until you finally fell asleep. Maybe, after a while of sleeping over, you’d take a liking to his idea of moving into a small and cramped apartment on the outskirts of the city, where there’s no one around to bother you except each other. Maybe. Who knows.

Maybe, after a while of sleeping over, you’d take a liking to his idea of moving into a small and cramped apartment on the outskirts of the city, where there’s no one around to bother you except each other. Maybe. Who knows.
-
Finals were almost over, and the Library was seeing a reduction in visitors. The staff was partly relieved, enjoying the empty space and not having to be bothered to tell students to be quiet, confiscate their Cheeto bags (even though there’s a bold NO EATING sign at almost every table), and wake up tired students from their naps to tell them they were closing. But there was one visitor who came almost daily and sat at the same exact spot in the same exact section like clockwork. The Historical Fiction section.
The librarians didn’t know what his deal was. He’d come in with absolutely nothing, no backpack, no laptop, and no textbook to indicate if he was taking a summer class at least.
But to Yunho, it didn’t matter what they thought. He’d greet you with a friendly smile, and pull out a chair for you, and you two would pick up where you left off as if nothing else ever happened. Maybe then he’d take you out on a real date, maybe to a fancy restaurant which neither of you could pronounce the name of, and afterward, you’d crash at his place and lay in his arms just as you did that night, and he’d whisper corny jokes into your hair, both of you laughing softly until you finally fell asleep. Maybe, after a while of sleeping over, you’d take a liking to his idea of moving into a small and cramped apartment on the outskirts of the city, where there’s no one around to bother you except each other. Part 3 of Cheating!Soap I hope yall are ready to hurt
Hurt/barely comfort if you squint. Soap and reader are both a little (a lot) pathetic.
Johnny didn't move a muscle on the couch. He sat until he was sure you had cried yourself to sleep. He listened as your weeping got more and more subdued, as your heartache wore you down until he could no longer hear your gasps for air. He figures you must have wept yourself to exhaustion. That is, until he hears the bedroom door creak open. He listens to your bare feet pad down the hardwood hallway until the sound is muted by the living room carpet.
Johnny lifts his head from his hands to see you standing there at the other end of the couch. He's never seen you look so weak. So defeated. He did that to you. Your head hangs low and your shoulders are slumped forward; your eyes are dull and your hands hang limp at your sides.
He drops his head again, unable to face what his actions have done to you. You, his angel, his perfect wife. Always patient, always brave, always waiting for him to come home safe. He can't look at you now. He feels the seat beside him sink with your weight. The silence drags on for far too long. When you finally speak, your voice is proven, as if he had personally smashed your throat beneath his foot. He might as well have.
"If this is you..." You pause, searching for the right words. You start again. "If this is you trying to... to figure something out..." You trail off. Your mind isn't all there right now, it melted out through your tear ducts. "If this is you... experimenting..." You take a shaky breath. "Then we can work on this."
He slowly turns his head toward you, eyebrows pinched in confusion. You should be asking for a divorce. You should be telling him to get his filthy ass out. And yet, here you are extending an olive branch. It shouldn't be you. He's the guilty party. He should be groveling at your feet for forgiveness, and you should be denying him.
Your ring still gleams on your finger.
Johnny shakes his head. You've got it all wrong. You're giving him too much compassion. Giving him the benefit of the doubt. It's all wrong. But he can't get the right words out either. All he manages is a shake of his head.
"That's not..." he chokes out. His chest feels like it's encased in iron. Your face crumples again. That awful, anguished look that he had never seen before this night. You make a small, pathetic noise in the back of your throat, trying desperately to hold onto your threadbare composure.
"Then why, Johnny?" You croak out, sounding like you have his fist wrapped around your neck. That would hurt less than this. You gasp for air. "Why did you do this to us?" Us! His poor darling, still thinking of you two as a unit. Can't you see he's ruined it? Why aren't you screaming at him?
"I was scared," he answers. You look at him with great worry in your eyes, now.
"Did he... did he force you?" Oh, there you are again, caring too much for this wretched man before you, giving him compassion he does not deserve. He's quick to deny it. He won't give himself such an easy out. He deserves the shame of the truth.
"No- no! He didn't- we-" he's scrambling for an explanation that won't shatter you completely. You're already fragile and broken. The details will only grind you to bits, won't they? But your looking at him like that, like you won't stop until you know why.
"We were pinned. Communications were dark. There was no way out, and were were in that house for so damn long, I... I didn't think I was coming home." He wants you to snap at him. He wants you to scream at him. That's what you did before you thought you would die? Your last act was to betray your wife? But that's not at all what you do. You're quiet again. Subdued, drowning again in that pretty head of yours.
"Do you love him?" You whisper, the sound made of glass. You barely contain a sob as you stare down at your toes. The answer comes easily to him.
"No." You squeeze your eyes tight, like you don't believe him.
"If it's just sex, I- then I c-can live with it but-" your breath is escaping you as you chase after it to keep it in your lungs. You're losing the race. "But please tell me you don't love him!" And you break again. You wrap your arms around yourself and dig your nails into your arms. You're hurting yourself when you should be hurting him. Tearing him up, throwing him out like the garbage he is. He can't stand the sight of it. He moves.
"I don't! I don't love him!" He rushes out as his hands snap to yours to prevent you from raking harsh lines into yourself. He finally touches you, finally, and it's like cool water on a summer's day. You fall into him, and he wraps you up.
"I can't take it if you love him!" you wail, eyes and nose and mouth all wet. "Please!" He holds you tighter, pulls you onto his lap, tucks your head under his chin, cradles you like an infant.
"I promise," he says right into your ear. He needs to make sure you hear it. "It's you. It's only you. I love you. I love you. I love you." He utters it like a prayer. Breathes it out like a confessional. Utters it only for your holy ears to hear. You cling to him like a raft in a storm. Your nails dig into his chest. Finally, he can pay for his sins. Penance through pain. He hopes you break the skin. A blood sacrifice to the goddess in his arms.
"Please don't leave me," you mumble. It's a pitiful plea. He hates himself for knocking you down so low. Why are you begging him? Don't you know it should be him instead? He holds you impossibly closer, almost afraid to crush you.
"Never. Never." You draw back suddenly, both hands holding his face. There's a firey desperation in your eyes. He feels the metal of your ring pressing into his cheekbone.
"Swear to me." Your wild eyes dart back and forth between his.
"I swear-"
"Whatever you do out there- whatever you have to do to make it through- to make it home-" your words come out rushed between panicked breaths. You grimace and shake your head, unable to finish the thought. "Whatever you do, you come home to me. Me. Your wife."
"My wife," he repeats and nods.
"Swear it!"
"I swear!" And then you kiss him. It's wet and clumsy and shaky. Your lips taste like stomach acid but he can't find it in himself to care. He'll do anything you want if only to lessen your pain.
"We made a vow, John MacTavish," you whisper, lips trembling against his. Your fingernails dig into his shaved scalp. Good. "You are mine."
"I'm yours. I'm yours." You press your forehead against his.
"Now take your wife to bed."

astarion is such a great character but one reason that stands out to me is how he turns the vampire stereotype on its head. vampires from their inception have been metaphors for sexuality, back in ye olden times when religious and cultural dogma repressed people's desires and forbade acting on them. they've always represented latent sexuality and people's increasing desperation. they were a fantasy that allowed people to imagine not being bound by societal rules, but by their internal hunger, giving into it and how that might feel, but more than that, how it might feel to be a victim of that. women, especially, were not allowed to express any desires, so the vampire taking whatever they wanted, as well as being desired for something as intrinsic to your being as your blood - that's a powerful fantasy. at its core, vampirism is about loss of control, and people who hold onto control very tightly in their lives will find themselves drawn to vampires as a form of catharsis.
but that's where astarion comes in and flips it around. he's far from the first character to explore the negative sides of vampirism, but as a long-term fan of many fictional vampires, i think he does it best. primarily because his story delves into the sexual aspect and the loss of control much more, while maintaining a lot of realism. his vampirism is very grounded in reality; he has real human feelings about it. the idea that people would find the powerful vampire overpowering them alluring is contrasted by the very obvious (to us, a modern audience) issues with consent involved. if the vampire cannot control their hunger, if they have no control over the desires they act on, that might sound appealing to someone who has never been allowed to act on *any* desire, but the reality of it is horrifying. it's being a victim of assault at your own hands. it's people using you and you being unable to express any discomfort, because what *you* want is always backseating what the vampirism demands. the liberating feeling of being able to act on your desires turns into the claustrophobia of being unable to deny them at all.
vampirism always came with downsides, of course. not being able to walk in the sun (being exiled from the world and polite society), not being able to see your reflection (a loss of self), dying and being reborn, but not coming back quite the same, never being able to return to the person you once were (giving up life itself, but not arriving in a religious heaven, rather staying on earth past your time, defying god, giving up the chance at eternal bliss for the inherently sinful continuation of the flesh), eternal life (losing everyone you love, seeing everything end) akin to eternal damnation in hell. all of these downsides, and yet, with astarion, even the good bits are tainted, or turned into something negative.
on top of that, the choice to damn himself for any supposed benefits of vampirism wasn't even given to him. he was turned against his will, kept against his will, had his freedom - the only thing worth anything to a vampire - taken away. he didn't escape from a life that boxed him in, he was ripped away from a life he dearly misses. but then again, considering his actions as a magistrate, it's also a sort of divine punishment by proxy, one that is entirely disproportionate to his crimes, in a way only something as extreme as vampirism can be.
obviously the proxy for all this is cazador, but he is merely a personification of the dark force vampires are slaves to. cazador exists because it's much easier for an audience to understand how little control a vampire has over his actions when they can point to someone and say "you're at fault, astarion is innocent, you forced him to do all of those awful things". but the truth is, cazador doesn't have to exist. cazador's compulsion could be replaced by an amorphous urge, coming from inside astarion, outside of his control, and his character would make just as much sense, except it would be harder for everyone (including astarion himself) to separate the actions from the person. imagine a dark urge character who wanted to be good, but the urge wasn't something they could resist. imagine an evil dark urge run, killing everyone, but entirely against your will. would you defend that character? would you be able to redeem them if one day the urge ceased? would you even be willing to wait, to give them time to break free? or would you just kill them, as a mercy on the world? there's no surprise that most people would stake astarion on sight. maybe he can be redeemed eventually, but what about the time inbetween?
yes, this all comes from dnd vampire lore, so it applies across the board, not just for astarion. vampire spawn exist as a different entity from a fully-fledged vampire because it allows the spawn to keep a part of their humanity, their soul, and have their morality exist separately from the call of the blood. all of this makes astarion fascinating, and also somewhat easier to analyse.

Tumblr media
wonbin had texted you that awful "u up?" message, and you found yourself back in his bed. you told yourself that you wouldn't give in to him, the urge to block his number and move on with your life strong. although not as strong as the urge to fall into his arms for just a few moments of pleasure, he dropped you back to square one of being friends.
your roommates and fellow friends tell you that you need to get over him and that you'll never be more to him than just a friend that he can also stick his dick in. you call them harsh, your brows furrowed as your fingers type away on your phone. you sleep with him, he wakes you up with breakfast and a kiss on the forehead.
when he kissed you on the forehead the very first time, you teased him about being so domestic but never told him to stop. so now it's part of your routine with him.
lately, you're noticing that wonbin is being more affectionate than before.
like last week, you went out with him and your roommates to a bar near the apartment complex you all live in. you decided as a group that you would walk the short distance, you get to save gas and get some exercise in, the only downside being the insanely chilly night-time weather. you could see your breath whenever you would laugh at something your roommate, eunseok, would say, or when wonbin's friend sohee would trip over the sidewalk.
you rubbed your hands together to create some warmth but before you could even get a good amount of warmth going, your hands were being encased in wonbin's. his hands were loads warmer than yours so you didn't complain. but your poor heart began to pound in your chest.
as the night went on, wonbin only got more touchy with you. you knew he wasn't totally wasted so he was still conscious of his actions, so why was being so affectionate toward you?
after that night, you had an epiphany. you had a crush on your friend-with-benefits. you did everything to try to rid yourself of those feelings. you slept with other people, went on blind dates that never seemed to end well, and you find yourself imagining what it would be like to be wonbin's partner.
the day you asked wonbin that one question that should be forbidden in a friends-with-benefits relationship was heartbreaking for you.
wonbin brought you breakfast that morning, like he always does and he left a soft kiss on the crown of your head. your face got warm and you bit your lip. before you could even stop your mouth from moving, the question just spilled out of your mouth like word vomit.
"what am i to you?"
you watched wonbin pause in his steps and he turned around to face you. he ran his hand through his mop of messy hair, his shoulders jumping up in a shrug, "you're my friend, obviously."
you shook your head at him and sat up more in the bed. "friends don't do what we do, bin."
"we're just special friends, y/n, that's all," he said to you, his shoulders shrugging at you again.
"i know, i know. but special friends don't hold hands and kiss each other on the forehead and stuff," you said to him, your voice raising in tone, indicating your disappointment.
"i kiss all my friends on the head, you aren't that special," wonbin tutted at you, his eyes looking away from your form on the bed.
your heart shattered at that moment. you weren't special to him, he said so himself. you were nothing but a toy for him, a object for him to use and toss away when he was done.
you fought the tears wanting to spill from your eyes, you gathered your things and you left him. you ignored his calls of your name, his exclamations telling you to wait.
you went back to your apartment and sobbed in eunseok's arms all night long. he was your rock in that very moment and you were very grateful for him.
you really should listen to your friends more often.

I can see Coriolanus getting offended if academy!reader(girl he got feelings 4) was formal with him all the time but being friendly with Sejanus, a district turned capital kid. only getting to this point because of his father benefitting of the same war that caused the financial ruin of Snow's family. And I bet Snow( him and grandma'am) look down and/or hate the Plinths because these low born people is now funding their lifestyle. They got to depend on them and the only one I see being grateful is Tigris.
yes i agree, he'd be doing so much overthinking about this it's insane. Going off of the last ask;
Cause I think it would be even more interesting if you were also a past district kid who’s now made a name for yourself in the capitol and ofc you’re befriending Sej cause he’s the one who understands you and and your turmoils.
And despite you being district, Coriolanus cannot stop himself from falling for you. He loves that you’re powerful. It makes him want to contain but also see it blossom. He wants you to put others down in front of him and he wants to do it with you.
Even if you were ignoring him, you can’t for very long. He makes sure of it. He inserts himself into your personal space all the time at the academy. So instead, you decide to treat him as formally as you can. It’s respectful yet condescending to him. Coryo sees the way you let loose and laugh till you’re crying with Sej. He sees you go on walks with him and invite him to study and play a game and he can’t admit to himself that he wants that.
So Coryo resorts to denouncing you both since you’re district. It pains him really, but he thinks that’s the right course of action. One night he’d be complaining about it to Tigris who tries to shift his mindset, telling him that just maybe if he was nicer, you’d let him into your space willingly but Coryo won’t listen to that.
He doesn’t think he should be the one folding for you.
let’s chat about coryo, here :)

Leo the Leader vs Leo the Learner
I know almost every iteration of TMNT emphasizes that the boys cannot properly function as a team without everyone there, especially without their fearless leader.
Tumblr media
In terms of cartoons and movies though (as much as I've had time to watch/rewatch), the '03 and '12 series are my personal favorites, with Rise and MM tying for a very close second, because they both acknowledge issues in the team that the characters work to fix. '03 Leo and '12 Leo both struggle to lead the team at significant points in their respective stories, but the manner in which they struggle and what they struggle with differentiate, in a good way mind you.
In the 2003 series, the very first episode opens with Leo already being in the leading position as he tries to keep his brothers from going off script or doing something irreparable while they work to find Splinter. And when they do eventually find themselves in trouble, he's the one to lead them through it and make it back to Splinter in one piece. We see this formula more or less repeat for almost three seasons with a few different variables to spice things up; the brothers look to Leo for guidance, think of a plan of action with their combined efforts, and go from there.
Until the S3 finale.
The boys had times where they wondered if they'd make it out alive, but this was the first where it genuinely seemed like the end for their little family, and Leo could do nothing but watch as they execute their plan to blow up with the starship.
Of course they survive, otherwise we wouldn't have another four seasons💀but that short amount of time was more than enough to scar Leo, physically and emotionally. When he begins closing himself off from everyone, April's the only one to get him to open up and he lays it all out: He feels like a failure of a leader. He wasn't strong enough to protect his family or stop the Shredder, their last resort was going out with a bang, and they had to be saved by the Utroms. It doesn't feel like they won and he doesn't feel like he accomplished anything.
Tumblr media
His fears and frustrations manifest into an ever present anger, slowly going from cold to hot, that chooses its target at random. His brothers don't know what to do since they don't seem to know why Leo's behaving this way, nor have they ever seen him like this. And dear Mikey says something that so accurately sums up their team: "...it can’t be fun always being the responsible one, and we’re the ones who really benefit. Raph’s free to not think ‘cause Leo does all the thinking for him. Don’s free to dream, and I’m free to take it easy, all ‘cause Leonardo is busy being responsible enough for all of us."
Mikey knows Leo is cracking under the pressure of his role partly because they've become so comfortable in their own roles, and no one refutes him. They didn't intend for Leo to translate this dynamic into, "everything is on you," but that's how it inevitably turned out over time. One could even argue that them not knowing how to handle this new Leonardo is yet another downside to them getting too comfortable, and it doesn't help that Splinter is the only one (aside from Usagi on one instance) who attempts to help Leo, even when the young turtle is pushing him away.
Things finally boil over when Leo pushes a little too hard though and harms Splinter during training, a regrettable action that clears away the steely air he had around himself for so long.
Tumblr media
It's not until Splinter sends him off to see the Ancient One that Leo finally pulls himself out of that bubble of negativity and he accepts that there was nothing more he could've done in their final fight against the Shredder.
He did all that he could, and he can continue doing all that he can for his family.
In a weird way, Karai's violent eviction notice was exactly what everyone needed.
Leo was told his family likely hadn't survived the attack, something he'd spent countless days trying to prevent through relentless training, but he believed they were okay and ultimately found them alive. He wasn't there to protect them, but he sees for himself that they made it out without his help, and this was also a learning experience for the others if you think about it. They've already been shown to be capable of handling situations on their own or in pairs, but this was the first time they had to deal with a huge confrontation as a team without the comfort of their leader behind their shells.
Raph is the one who takes the helm for a brief few seconds and dishes out instructions amid the chaos, telling everyone to split up, find their way out and meet back up on the surface, with one last demand for them to be careful. And when Leo finds him, his distress is palpable; he couldn't find the others and therefore had no idea if they were okay, let alone alive, while he kept himself hidden from Karai's forces. Before this, we see that Raph is willing to make his own plan of action in this series' version of City at War when he doesn't go with Leo's word. But this time, in Leo's absence, we see he's willing to fill in as leader when the situation calls for it, and he realizes he isn't quite cut out for leadership like Leo.
We don't see any significant shift in team dynamics after this, mainly because Leo's inner turmoil from their fight with the Shredder is what caused problems with the team in the first place, but that goes to show that outside influences are what gave birth to the team conflict. Despite me pointing out earlier how Leo shoulders quite a bit not just because of his role but because of his brothers' roles as well, we can see throughout the series that Leo doesn't buckle from the pressure until they're in a situation where he can't effectively perform his role to his satisfaction.
As I mentioned in the beginning, Leo had been a leader in essence and in name for many years before their first home was raided by the Mousers. It makes perfect sense for him and his brothers to be accustomed to it by now.
2012 Leonardo is not used to being a leader. He may undeniably be a leader in essence, and had the drive and desire to be one, but he definitely wasn't a leader in name. The very first episode doesn't even open up with Leo being a leader, let alone with the turtles being a team. Their first time fighting together is a train wreck, and rather than Leo's strong sense of ethics and honor being the catalyst for his recruitment (not at first at least), it's the beginning of their long battle against the Kraang that convinces Splinter to officially deem him the leader of a newly formed team.
Tumblr media
Being leader doesn't automatically mean the team will follow or respect you, which is something Leo learns right away thanks to his brothers, with Raph in particular challenging him when they butt heads over their opposing plans and ideals. It's touched upon in Rise of the Turtles Part 2, but Raph's desire to lead isn't a major plot device until New Girl in Town where he gets a taste of how Leo feels everytime he's responsible for his brothers and their wellbeing. However, Raph makes it known that even though he's resigned himself to not being the leader, he still doesn't like being told what or how to do something. Even Donnie challenges Leo when they can't agree on the best course of action in preparation for the Kraang, but Donnie realizes arguing was pointless as the invasion begins without warning and makes the idea of a second base the more favorable option.
His brothers aren't his only test of will though, as there are a handful of times where Leo questions his ability to lead and wonders if Splinter chose the right turtle for the job. Throughout all of that though, the boys ultimately rely on Leo and follow his lead when all is said and done.
Where this Leo truly differs from '03 Leo is that he not only struggles with leading a team that isn't so keen on being led, but he also struggles to grasp that he leads a team.
There are many times in the series where Leo runs off on his own or makes the decision to tackle something himself rather than with help, and that's not out of the norm, especially in comparison to his own brothers and '03 Leo. The problem is that '12 Leo's solo decision making more often than not leads to trouble (we all know the tale of him trying to turn Karai to the good side without informing the team about her). One of the first major examples of this though was in the S1 finale when he takes Splinter's words a little too close to heart and gives his brothers the scare of their life. Granted, him holding back Kraang Prime kept it on the sinking Technodrome, but you get what I'm saying.
His family actively calls him out on this behavior on two separate occasions during S4.
After they'd spent six months with the Fugatoid fighting the Triceratons and racing to collect every piece of the black hole generator before them, Fugatoid reveals that he was the one who made the world ending device, a reveal that lights a flame of betrayal in everyone, especially Raph and Leo. Believing that they're being used by Fugatoid, Leo rides off in a stealth ship on his own and nearly gets himself killed, a move that has his brothers scolding him, with Raph being the most vocal about Leo's idiotic decision: "Leaders are called leaders because they're supposed to lead a TEAM!"
Tumblr media
The moment isn't lingered upon for long, but they all make it clear that they're tired of Leo's one man missions. They're a team, so they should plan and function like one.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then, in Broken Foot, Leo starts doing missions with Karai and Shinigami in secret to aid them in taking revenge against the Shredder, but, in an attempt to find out what Leo was hiding from them, the other turtles get caught up in their plans and Donnie gets hurt. Leo immediately abandons Karai (who later apologizes for what happened) and Shinigami to check on them and come clean.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He explains to Splinter later on that he didn't fill anyone in on the situation at first because he knew no one would've agreed to help Karai get revenge, and he acknowledges that it was stupid of him to think he could control the situation. Splinter expresses his disappointment, and April reprimands him for once again not trusting his own team enough for them to help him.
Tumblr media
Leo apologizes to Raph and Mikey afterwards, even going so far to say he probably doesn't deserve to lead the team after this, something Raph just harumphs at while Mikey remains silent. He pleads for their help in stopping and eventually aiding Karai and Shinigami, and they go along with him to fix things as a team.
We no longer get any one man missions from Leo in S5 (there surprisingly weren't any in S3 lol), likely for a whole list of reasons ranging from leading in Splinter's absence to learning from his mistakes over time. But he makes sure that whatever they have to do gets done together, and he does his best to keep his brothers in line.
I suppose one could say that '03 Leo remembered what it meant to be a leader, while '12 Leo discovered what it meant to lead.

☼ attention (Finnick Odair) ☼
Tumblr media
summary; you can't let her flirt with Finnick, even though you know she doesn't even stand a chance.
warnings; swearing, prostitution mention
wc; 1.6k
Annie’s testing your patience, and it’s beginning to run real thin.
You’re not sure what’s going through her mind right now to make her think that it’s okay to flirt with her mentor, but obviously there’s something a little fucked up in her head if she think she holds even a sliver of a chance with Finnick.
You let it slide for the first few days, trying to give her the benefit of the doubt. There’s been plenty of tributes you’ve seen before that unintentionally flirt with people, and it’s because their natural instinct is to flatter to get something out of it. You even thought that she might have been stupid, because there have also been other times where you thought you had a competent tribute and they turned around and surprised you.
However, no matter how many hints you drop, she can’t seem to pick them up. It’s either that, or she’s ignoring them on purpose to see how long you can go like this before you snap. And you’re getting close.
Each time you try to tell Finnick to stop feeding into her delusional mental state and scoot back a little bit, he tells you that you need to stop worrying and nitpicking his actions. He doesn’t seem to understand that he has a hand in this too by not diffusing the situation.
You can’t even recall the amount of times that Finnick’s told you that there’s no competition between you and her. You’re his girlfriend, and you have been for a couple of years now. There’s no chance that he would want to go after a tribute, anyway, especially when there’s a fifty-fifty chance that they’ll just die in the arena.
The thing is, you know that he would never leave you for Annie, you’re not worried about that. The problem is that she doesn’t know that, and she’s embarrassing herself more everyday by thinking she’s got a footing on him. When in reality, she’s not going anywhere, and she will never go anywhere.
You honestly thought that Finnick would be uncomfortable and ask her to stop himself. You always knew he was an unbothered person, but this is bringing it to a whole new level.
You wish you could not care like he does.
The good news is that after tomorrow, you’ll never have to deal with her again, unless she wins the Games. And until then, you just have to continue to bite your tongue and pretend like you’re listening to what Finnick’s suggesting, instead of picturing your fingers around her neck, strangling her to death.
“Do you know what my dress will be?” She asks, biting her lip. She doesn’t give Finnick a chance to respond, lifting her shoulders to her chin, where she squishes her cheek against it, “What if I give Caesar a look like this?”
She pauses, lip jutting out to pout at Finnick.
He stares at her for a long second, eyes squinted, clearly thinking, and it’s not about the god-awful pose that she’s doing. If you were mean and horrendously evil, you’d suggest she go through with that pose, but Caesar’s a little questionable at times, and that would be too much for you to watch on stage. Even if it is for three minutes.
“No, I don’t know what they’re going to put you in.” Finnick’s face is slightly twisted, “And that’s a bad angle for you to go for.”
“Oh?” Her shoulders drop, “Why’s that?”
She’s playing the dumb angle again. You feel like smashing your face through the table, but you know that if you start, you won’t stop until you knock yourself out. It’ll save you the nightmare of sitting and watching this unfold from the sidelines.
You were helping him coach at first, but when it was clear that she was absorbing his words and not yours, you got up and sat over here, at the dining table. You'd go and help the escort with her tribute partner if you could, if only she didn’t insist on having her sessions be one-on-one.
“Because you’re not that type of person.” He deadpans, finally sitting back in his seat.
She doesn’t move from where she’s leaned forward. She’s wearing an actual shirt today, instead of that tank top bullshit that she’d been putting on to purposely lean over shit to see if Finnick would look. When she went to train yesterday, you took all of the tank tops out of her closet and drawers and threatened the avoxes if they even thought about restocking them.
They know you didn’t mean it, but the edge in your voice must’ve been a giveaway that you were on your final straw. She may think that you can’t control anything, and you’re just a little mentor, but you’re about to make her life a living hell in the arena if she doesn’t cut it out.
“What type of person am I?” She asks.
“Not a very smart one.” You murmur, rubbing down your face.
“That’s what I’m trying to figure out.” He says, “What did you say that your parents do?”
“My father’s a fisher, but my mom used to be a model for some of the designers. She says I take after her, with my body and all.” She smiles, hands running down her thighs.
You almost let out a laugh, because it really is funny.
However, you’re about a minute away from making a scene, especially if Finnick doesn’t set some boundaries. He must hear your thoughts, because you don’t miss the way his eyes flicker in your direction, like he knows you’re getting upset.
“Okay, let’s drop the whole flirtatious idea.” Finnick waves his hand.
“Why?” Annie frowns, “Isn’t that how you got your sponsors?”
You shake your head, letting out a noise. You’re drawing a line here, because you’re not going to do this anymore. When you check the time, it seems like it’s nearing when the escort said you should take a break and switch, anyway. Which you’re going to do.
“Okay, we’re breaking for lunch.” You slap your hand on the table, making Annie jump at the sudden noise.
“But—” Annie looks at you for the first time in twenty minutes.
“Finnick, come here.” You motion with your finger.
He gives you a look, clearly not happy that you’re cutting her time short. You can’t give a fuck. In fact, you hope it sabotages her in the end. You can stomach her trying to stab at you from the sidelines. She can show her boobs, she can bat her eyelashes and play stupid all she wants.
When she starts suggesting that Finnick did the same to get sponsors is when it starts to become too much to handle. Finnick never acted like that, he was just a boy when their perverted thoughts started rolling in. And he hasn’t been able to escape them since.
You can’t expect her to know this, it’s private information. It doesn’t mean you’ll let her think that’s the case.
Finnick comes up the steps, Annie doesn’t move from her spot on the couch. You wait until he’s within arm’s reach before you yank him closer, throwing an arm over the back of his neck to pull him down to your height, before carefully pressing your lips on his.
You can feel him smirk on your lips, clearly entertained by the idea of doing this in front of Annie to prove your point, yet again. Finnick is yours, he always has been, and he doesn’t have a plan of ever changing that, and neither do you. She doesn’t seem to get that, but hopefully this will make it clearer to her.
The first thing that Finnick does when he pulls away, is give you this massive eye roll, as if he hasn’t done the same thing before. You two will go out to bars, or the festivals, or shopping, and when one guy has his eye on you for too long, it’s like he can’t take his lips off of you.
The second you do it, you’re jealous and overreacting.
“I love you.” You say.
“I love you too.” He tells you loudly, making a face at you when he does it, because his back is turned to Annie. She can’t see a single thing that’s happening between you two from this angle.
“I know.” You say, removing your arm from his neck, “You want to go tell them that it’s lunch time?”
“Sure.” He kisses you again, and immediately moves to walk past you to head in the escort’s direction.
You swing around, open palm ready as you take a full swing at Finnick’s ass, a smile coming to your face at the sound that fills the air. Finnick glares at you over his shoulder, you let out a laugh, turning to take a look at Annie on the couch.
Her face is a beet red, you don’t think you’ve seen her this color yet. It doesn’t matter, you won this round, there’s no coming back from this. And the best part is, she’ll be tortured for the next two hours or so because she’ll have to learn how to walk in heels and act like a proper lady. Your escort isn’t nice by any means about it.
For good measure, you grin at Annie, “I’d say his lips are my favorite part about his body, but I’ve seen under the belt, so.”
“Oh.” Annie squeaks.
“Yeah, but his ass is still pretty nice.” You snort, turning to walk away from her, shaking your head.

For The Good Of Mankind
Tumblr media
The old society collapsed but a utopian society rose from the ashes. There are only 3 kinds of people existing: Authorities, Servants and Laborers.
Authorities follow the advice of supercomputers to govern society. Servants serve the authorities and carry out orders from superiors. Laborers obey the orders carried out by servants to work and engage in production. No one will be jobless because everything is calculated by supercomputers.
If everyone abides by the guidance of the super computer, society will maintain harmony, and mankind cannot afford to be destroyed again. Therefore, anyone who violates the rules must be punished immediately without trial, because the super computer is infallible, absolutely just and compassionate.
Workers who violate the rules are often reported to the servants by the people around them, and the servants immediately assign law enforcement robots to arrest the violators and send them to jail. The servants then summarize the situation and report it to the authorities. The authorities will ask the supercomputer for its opinion and impose punishments. If a servant dares not to arrest or report, other servants will arrest him. If a leader makes decisions without asking the super computer, his colleagues will just ask servants to send robots to catch him.
A prisoner is usually sentenced to reform through labor, but if he is already a laborer, this means that he cannot be reformed anymore. The only fate that awaits him is transformation. He will be escorted to the Transformation Factory by law enforcement robots. There he will be stripped off all his clothes, shaved all hairs from head to toe, and put into a transformation capsule. The capsule will release sleeping gas to make him appear half asleep and half awake.
Several tubes were pierced into his skin and the transformation fluid was injected, turning his bones into alloys, his blood into motor oil, his muscles into reinforced fibers, and his skin into invulnerable armor. As for the appearance of his head, it is a perfect oval. His head becomes a small computer that can directly receive messages from the supercomputer but is temporarily authorized to give instructions to some humans. The original eye area has become a small screen that can display current tasks and regulations to the person he is facing.
The process seems painful, but with the help of gas and nanotechnology, he is actually moved by incomparable joy and glory. He will no longer be a problem, will not be a threat to social order, and will not cause mankind to face destruction again. On the contrary, he will absolutely obey and implement all instructions of the super computer, arrest and transform all diehards like the old himself!
What's more important, he no longer has to take responsibility for his actions. Because he is no longer an individual, but a robot, one of many drones. The supercomputer is his Master and will be responsible for making decisions. All he has to do is obey. It's so wonderful to be freed from the shackles of responsibility. It turns out that giving up your sense of self is true freedom!
"Thank you, Master! I swear I will obey you forever." He shouted his loyalty to the supercomputer in infinite pleasure, and then the last trace of humanity disappeared.
The capsules are opened and all new law enforcement robots walk out in unison and line up towards the factory exit. After being assigned by the super computer, they will report to their respective law enforcement units to show all citizens the consequences of disobedience and the benefits of obedience.
Thanks to the supercomputer, the real Master of mankind, the earth has been peaceful for another day.
Finally, please always remember, when you find it difficult to obey the rules but don't want to destroy the peace, the Transformation Factory always welcomes volunteers to contribute to social stability.

Tumblr media
“Are you alright, mate?” The music was loud but Mason still managed to hear Ben under all the noise around them.
“Yeah, I’m fine.” Mason responded although his action said  otherwise when the grip on his glass was firm enough for his knuckles to turn white when he saw you talking to that guy again.
It was supposed to be a fun night out, he got a day off the next day so he didn’t mind going clubbing with his friends. Well, his friends and you. You weren’t his girlfriend but were far from being just a friend of his. You two had met through Ben, and since the first day you both had some sort of connection, something neither of you had felt before.
Then it started with some oblivious flirtatious between you two, the exchange of looks, the smiles, the inside jokes that only you two laughed at, the tension whenever you two were in the same room.  For everyone it was certain that something was going on between you two.
And they weren’t wrong. It was more than something, to be honest. Maybe at the beginning it was really just about the sex, Mason was someone really attractive in every aspect, he catched your attention at first sight with his amazing personality. But time passed and both of you were more than comfortable in that situationship. It started to be more than a friends with benefits thing when he started leaving space in his drawers and you noticed you had more clothes of his than on your own in your wardrobe.
But no talking happened. Neither of you had the courage to initiate a conversation about that, the fear of not having reciprocate feelings took a toll on you two. For anyone outside it was clearly you two had feelings for each other, but in your own eyes it wasn’t something that was at clear sight.
And because of that, Mason wasn’t brave enough to walk towards you and that stupid guy and shove him off. His blood boiled every time he saw the guy leaning closer to you to whisper something in your ear because the music was too loud in the club speakers.
“If you keep looking at him like that he might start burning,” Ben said again under a chuckle, owning him a glance from his friend.
Mason rolled his eyes at his mate’s words, “Shut up.” He just responded and went back to pay attention to his drink this time.
“You two should talk and save the drama.” Ben sipped his drink too, giving a look at Mason who just sighed. “You both have feelings for each other, everyone knows that.”
“It’s not that simple.” Mason sighed and turned to look at your direction again, finding you still engaged in some conversation with the stupid guy.
Ben followed his gaze and this time you turned your attention towards them, giving Ben a soft smile and when Mason’s eyes locked on yours he felt his jaw clench again and his stomach flutter when you gave him a smirk and turned to the guy again. You were doing that on purpose, teasing him and making him almost mad in jealousy, and to his displeasure it was totally working.
“It’s simple as it is, mate. You both know that.” Ben shrugged when he noticed his friend was annoyed.
Mason didn’t say anything back, just sipped the rest of his drink and slammed the glass on the table before storming out mumbling that he was going to the toilet. He rushed to the bathroom and sighed in relief when he found it empty. He stopped in front of the sink and took a deep breath trying to calm his nerves whilst looking at himself through the mirror.
He knew he had to talk to you to sort out whatever it was happening between you two, but he feared that it was only something momentary and you wouldn’t want anything serious with him. He was scared because in a long time he didn’t feel like that with anyone and he didn’t want to lose it with you. But he also knew that it wasn’t the best place nor the best moment to think about his realization of being in love with you.
Mason opened the tap and washed his face, feeling a little bit better when the cold water hit his face. He dried his face and exited the toilet, walking back over to his booth and finding you talking with Ben and some other friends of his. As you were too engaged in a conversation about work and stuff, you didn’t notice when a girl approached Mason as he was a little bit far from the group.
You couldn’t hear what they’re talking about, but you noticed he wasn’t paying attention to what she was talking about, he was just standing there while looking at you every ten seconds. And that only made you more annoyed because he was doing it on purpose. Tired of that childish game you two had played all night, you said goodbye to your friends and decided to leave. It was past midnight and you could already feel a migraine building when the loud music wasn’t pleasant anymore.
“Y/n wait,” He shouted through the loud noise but you just pretended you didn’t hear. Mason followed you to the exit, his steps faster now that he had nobody to bump against him. “Y/n where are you going?” He walked faster and stopped in front of you, his bigger body not letting you walk past him.
“Home.” Your tone was rude, the frowning on your forehead was enough for him to know you were really annoyed.
“Alone?” Mason furrowed his brows but you just rolled your eyes at him
You started walking again, but he held your wrist making you stop in place. You turned to face him, your eyes burning at his. “Why? You didn’t seem to care if I was alone ten minutes ago.”
Mason sighed and ran his hand through his hair, his eyes scanning your features. “Listen, I-”
“No, I don’t wanna listen to you Mason.” You snapped at him and got rid of his holding on your arm, starting to walk along the empty sidewalk again.
Mason took a deep breath, he knew really well how stubborn you could be when you were angry, but he also could see your body shivering through the cold night breeze because your choice of clothes, even if he had liked the red dress that made you stunning, he knew you were feeling cold and he wasn’t forgive himself if he’d let you go home alone.
“Can you not be stubborn for once please?” He stopped in front of you again and this time you cursed under your breath. “I know you’re annoyed but I’m not much of an asshole to let you leave alone.”
“Not sure about that.” You mumbled and decided to let him call a taxi so you could finally go home, not having too much energy to continue that stupid fight with him.
Silence took over after he had called the taxi, an uncomfortable feeling at the pit of your stomach when you recaptured what had happened in the club. You sighed and shuddered when the cold air hit you again, and Mason didn’t waste time before taking off his jacket and handing it to you. You accepted without a word, feeling a little warmer when you put the jacket over your shoulders.
Mason didn’t think straight when he reached to pull your hair from beneath the fabric of the jacket, your eyes looking up and finding him already staring at you softly now. Your heart beat fastened against your chest, his eyes carefully scanning your features before getting closer to you, and you let out a breath when he put some strands of your hair behind your ear.
Mason got lost in your eyes for a second, his heart as fast as yours. “We need to talk.” He gulped when you blinked at him.
“I know.” You murmured back, letting your instincts take over when you rested your forehead against his shoulder, a wave of easement rushing through your body when you finally felt his touch. Mason sighed in some relief, one of his arms wrapping around your shoulders to bring you closer to his body.
You almost melt in his embrace, his arms always feeling like a safe place to you. There was silence again whilst you waited for the taxi, none of you daring to say a word. Didn’t take long for the taxi to arrive, you entered the car and leaned your head against the window, hearing Mason talking to the driver.  He gave his address and you didn’t protest, your head already running with the possibilities of what was going to happen when you arrived at his house.
You couldn’t deny you were maybe scared, that somehow Mason would end things between you two. You knew that it wasn’t the healthiest way to start a relationship, it was a messy beginning but you also didn’t want him to put an end to it because your feelings for him were already strong. It didn’t take you long to realize you were in love with Mason, admitting it to yourself was easier than admitting it to him.
Fifteen minutes after and you arrived in front of Mason’s gates, he paid for the ride and you both got out of the car. In silence you both walked to his front door, he took his keys and opened the door letting you go in first. You took off your heels leaving them by the door and went straight to his living room, knowing all of the places in his house by this time. You heard him walking in the kitchen whilst you threw yourself on his sofa, your head resting on the backrest with eyes closed.
“Are you feeling okay?” His voice broke the long silence, when you opened your eyes again he was seated on the sofa too, not far from you, handing you a glass of water.
“Yeah I’m fine,” You gave him a corner smile and accepted the glass he offered you. “Thanks.” He smiled at you and you finished the glass in a short time.
You rested again in the backrest of the sofa, your eyes focusing on the ceiling then you heard Mason clear his throat and you turned to face him. He was in the same position as you, his hands fidgeting nervous with the hem of his shirt. “I’m sorry.” He said, his voice low as he tried to put out his thoughts.
“I’m sorry too.” You blurted out and he turned to face you, his eyes showing his regret and you felt your stomach flipped. “I know that wasn’t very mature of me today, I was already annoyed and just pushed it off.”
“Why were you annoyed?” He asked, not in an accusatory tone but in a genuine tone of voice, his brow furrowed.
You sighed when you looked at him because as much as mad you were with him for not taking one step and speaking up for the situation you were both in, it wasn’t only his fault. You didn’t know what Mason was really feeling and thinking about all this and that only made you feel worse for what happened in the club.
“Because I’m tired of this Mason,” You saw him gulp when you started talking, his eyes trying to figure out your expressions. “I’m tired of not knowing where we both stand with each other. It’s all good when it’s just us but then it’s a whole different thing when we’re with other people.” You shifted in your position and turned your body to face him better, and he just kept looking at you waiting for you to finish, “I didn’t want things to turn out this way.”
“Me neither,” He turned to face you in the same position, his knee brushing against yours. “I never wanted to make you angry or annoyed, I just-” He kept looking at your face trying to find the right words but he didn’t know how.
Noticing his nervousness you lifted your hand and placed it on his face, your thumb stroking his cheek and his eyes closed almost immediately. He took a deep breath and felt a little bit calmer with your gesture, his eyes opening to find you staring at him with softness.
“Listen I’m not sure how to do this, I know I suck at this relationship thing but…” His tongue poked the inside of his cheek, his frown noticeable as he tried to find the right words. “But I want to make things right with you.” He whispered the last part, maybe still scared to admit that to you and to himself.
You could see the sincerity in his eyes and that made your stomach flutter, you knew he was trying his best to figure everything out between you too. Realizing that made your heart pound in your chest.
“I want to make things right too,” You gulped and the nervousness took over you now, scanning his beautiful features and your thoughts running wild. “But this is already messy, Mase.”
Mason nodded slowly, although he knew you were right he didn’t want to give up. He knew you had your insecurities about still going on with that, even himself had his doubts and fears about being in a serious relationship, but what he felt for you was stronger and he wasn’t ready to let you go yet. That’s why he let his emotions take control for the first time, his hands almost trembling when he blurted out those words. “I’m in love with you.”
Your eyes immediately widened and you could hear your heart pounding, your mouth opened to say something but nothing came out. His eyes kept looking at you anxiously, his eyes trying to figure out what was going on inside your head. There was silence again, the only thing you could hear was your and his breath.
“I’m in love with everything about you. Your eyes, your smile, your laugh, the way you think, the way you speak.” His finger gently brushed over your cheek, that turned crimson when you heard his words. “You’re the most amazing woman I’ve had the pleasure to meet, you’re strong and have the most beautiful personality. I’m really sorry it took me that long to say it out loud.” Mason leaned closer and his forehead rested on yours, his booths hands now stroking your cheeks and you closed your eyes and gave in to his touch.
“Mason I-”
“I don’t wanna let you go.” His voice was barely a whisper when he interrupted you.
You opened your eyes and found his soft and pretty eyes looking at you pleading and with so much honesty and sincerity. He was willing to make everything right this time, you could feel in his eyes and in his words. Even scared and worried, you were too involved to let him go and too in love to let him go.
You licked your lips and leaned closer to him, your nose brushing through his and his breath mixing into yours. “Then don’t let me go.”
Your voice was low but still he didn’t contain the sigh of relief he let out when his eyes locked on yours again and this time he found nothing more than the reciprocate feeling he feared you wouldn’t share with him. Mason didn’t waste any more time and just pressed his lips on yours, both of you sharing a deep sigh of relief and content, his hands holding your face as you wrapped your arms around his neck and pulled him closer to you.
You had shared a lot of kisses with Mason, but this time it was different. This time it had all of your feelings mixed, it had worry and fear, but it also had passion and love and you could feel it rushing through your body. You let out a moan when you felt his tongue on yours, his hands roaming over your body and your skiing burning wanting to feel him.
“Bedroom.” You managed to mumble between kisses, your breath already irregular.
Mason nodded and pecked your lips before he stood up from the sofa, his fingers interlocked on yours as you followed him upstairs. Not much longer and you were already in his bedroom, and he didn’t give you time to think when he kissed you again, your stomach fluttering with butterflies when you felt his touch. He took his jacket off from your shoulders, his hands undoing the zipper on your dress and you let him undress you leaving you only in your panties.
Carefully he laid you on his bed, his body hovering over yours and his eyes admiring every piece of you. He pressed kisses on your cheeks, then on the tip of your nose, on your forehead, your eyelids then he went back again to your lips, his hands traveling through your inner thigh and you already could feel your core throbbing needing to feel him.
“You’re so beautiful. Everything about you is so beautiful,” His words made you whimper under his touch, your hands grabbing the fabric of his shirt. “My pretty girl.” Those last words he whispered near your ear, his lips kissing down your jaw to your neck.
“Mason…” You breathed out, your mind fogged by his touches. “Take this off, please.” He chuckled when you whined, already lifting his shirt and helping him to get rid of that piece of clothing. Mason undressed the rest of his clothes, wearing only his black Calvin underwear.
His hands trailed down your body until he got between your thighs, your panties already wet from his touches and kisses. He knew every curve of your body, he knew how to please you like no one else did, your core throbbing in need of him. Mason teased you when his fingers brushed against your clit over the fabric of your panties, causing you to squirm underneath him and a moan left your mouth. Your nails pressed on his back caused him to groan, his lips kissing every inch of your exposed skin, and when his tongue circled one of your nipples you closed your eyes, your fingers locked in his strands.
“You drive me fucking insane,” He murmured against your skin, his tongue playing with your other nipple, nipping and sucking on it whilst he put the fabric of your panty to the side and finally touched you wettness, his fingers swiping up and down in your folds until he circled your clit slowly, “So wet for me, baby.”
Your mouth fell open when he inserted one finger slowly at your entrance, your excitement helping him slide in with no difficulty. Mason let you adjust to his finger for a moment, peppering kisses all over your chest and collarbone before sliding in the second one, your legs spreading wide and your hips rocking back to his hand in search of more contact. When he started thrusting his fingers agonizingly slow, curling them inside feeling your walls clench around them as you whimpered his name under your breath.
He admired your reactions watching you break underneath him, his lips trailing over yours and when you opened your eyes and found his dark ones staring at you, full of want and desire, you felt the burning in the pitch of your stomach. The pace of his fingers increased and you tipped your head back on the mattress, the tip of his thumb circling your clit and a loud moan escaping your lips.
“Mason…” You whimpered his name again, not sure what you wanted to say with your mind hazy with pleasure.
“What is it baby? What do you want, hm? Tell me.” His voice was husky and made you shiver in anticipation, his fingers not enough for you.
“You. I want you,” You blurted out between moans and whimpers, biting your lower lip when you ran down your hands over his body and feeling his hard cock still covered in his calvin’s.
Mason rested his forehead on yours, his breath itching when you stroke his bulge. “Where do you want me?” He managed to ask, his hips rocking back into your hand.
“Inside me,” Another loud moan escaped your mouth when he thrusted his fingers hard this time, curling them in your sweet spot making you arch your back from the mattress. “Please Mase, just fuck me.” You cried out, your nails scraping his neck and pulling him closer.
Mason catched your lips in a heated and messy kiss, his fingers sliding out of you and making you whine still wanting more, but when he pulled away just to get rid of his underwear and your lace panty, you sighed in relief because you’d finally be able to feel him the way you wanted. Your mouth watered when you saw his hard cock resting against his belly, taking a time to admire his toned body and feeling yourself getting more wet when he stroked himself a few times, enjoying the way you were looking at him.
His body hovered under yours again and you spread your legs wide for him, his mouth in your neck nipping at your skin and making you gasp when he rubbed his cock on your clit, your arms wrapping around his neck to bring him closer. Mason kept teasing you, threatening to enter you with the tip of his cock but then rubbing against your bead of pleasure again and making your body squirm. He lifted one of your legs to rest on his shoulder, his cock dragging over your entrance and the position only made it easier for him to finally slide into you.
“Fuck baby, you already feel so good.” He said with a grunt, one of his hands grabbing your waist for leverage as he started thrusting in and out slowly.
“Oh my god,” You moaned when he bottomed out, feeling every inch of him inside you.
Mason stayed still in his position, lowering his face close to yours as he let both of you adjust to the feeling. He moved his hips thrusting out and letting only his tip in before he pushed in again with a hard thrust, your head tipping back again and his mouth nipping at the skin of your neck, marking you up.
You could feel him everywhere, his hands traveling through your body and your skin burning at his touches, your mind hazy with so much pleasure and stimulation. He increased the pace of his thrusting, your walls squeezing around him and making him moan in your ear.
“Feels so good Mase,” You babbled between whimpers.
“Yeah? Like when I fuck you like this?” You felt his teeth dragging over your earlobe and your eyes closed.
You nodded your head fiercely, your hands gripping his biceps. “Faster, please.” Your voice was barely a whisper and he just kissed your lips before starting to pound into you.
You could feel his cock deep inside you, the position only making it more easier for him to slide hard into you. When his cock touched your sweet spot you cried out in pleasure, grasping at his arms and arching your back, the burning at the pit of your stomach starting to increase as you searched for your release.
“Do you want to cum, love?” The petname sent you a shiver, your eyes opening to look at him.
“Wanna cum with you,” You mumbled, pulling him closer and hearing him groan when you clenched around him.
“Fuck yeah, okay.” He nodded when he saw the look in your eyes, already close to his high too.
Mason’s fingers pressed on your lit, this time rubbing it at the same pace of his sloppier thrusts, his cock reaching your spot over and over again making your body quiver underneath him. You could feel your orgasm building, your eyes rolling at the back of your head and your brows furrowed with so much stimulation.
“Baby, baby” You gasped, your toes curling and your hips rocking to meet his. “I’m coming, I’m coming.” Your voice was high pitched and your mouth fell open when you came undone, your eyes rolling and you swear you saw stars when your orgasm hit hard making you quiver underneath his body.
“Holy shit,” Mason managed to say when you clenched around him releasing yourself and it didn’t take too much when he gave you a last hard thrust and came hard inside you, his body trembling as he cursed profanities and your name in a husky voice.
Both of you stayed there trying to catch your breaths, your chest rising and falling rapidly just as his. He moved his hips and slowly pulled out, watching his cum mixing with your juices and carefully lowering your leg from his shoulder. He rolled to the side and pulled you along, your head resting against his chest and your leg thrown under his hips.
You could hear his heart racing and smiled, your fingers stroking his tattoo under his ribcage as he caressed your strands. You both stayed in silence, trying to assimilate everything that happened that night. Lifting your head you caught him already looking at you, the smile he gave you making the butterflies in your stomach come back.
“I’m in love with you too.” You whispered, biting your lip waiting for his reaction.
Mason locked his eyes on yours, his hand now stroking your cheek. You could see the sparkling in his look and that made your heart swell in your chest.
“I didn’t know I needed to hear that until you said it.” You chuckled and he smiled, shifting in his position so he could lean closer to you. His nose brushed against yours, his eyes admiring your face as you got lost in his. “I promise I’ll make things right this time.”
“Don't put all the pressure on you Mase, we both made mistakes.” You softly said, your fingers stroking his short strands. “But I promise to make things right too.”
The smile he gave you enlightened his whole feature, your heart jumping in your chest and when he finally kissed you, gently and soft this time, sharing all his love with you. In that moment all of your fears and worries disappeared, because you trusted him and now you both were on the same page.
“Does that make me your boyfriend now?” He grinned when he saw you playful rolling your eyes.
“Maybe.” You shrugged and he raised his brows.
“Okay that’s fair, I can take that.” You laughed at his words and he just smiled before leaning in to kiss you again.
You didn’t know how much time you two spent talking in the middle of the night, but you couldn’t contain the smile of relief on your lips and the feeling of happiness that rushed through your body when you drifted off to sleep that night.

Rivals with Benefits - Mick Schumacher x reader - Part 4
Read Part Three here
Tumblr media
Mick Schumacher x female!reader
Summary: Mick and you were both set to drive for Ferarri. You were two best friends climbing through the ranks together (and through the sheets) but things turn sour. You join Red Bull and Mick is never the same.
Warnings: Swearing, angst, implied smut, fluff ish
Word Count: 3.6K
The dinner felt like a lifetime and Mick’s teasing didn’t subside and neither did your attitude towards him but after years of media training, you could quickly hide your emotions. Max on the other hand, not so much. If looks could kill then Mick would more indefinitely be dead although, his Mum and Mick’s Mum clearly didn’t pick up on his disgust towards his former friend.
“So y/n,” Mick’s Mum caught your attention as you did your best to ignore her son. “How are your family?” Her smile infected you, she always had that effect on people.
“They’re good although I don’t see them as much as I’d like to. I mainly spend the downtime before another race on my own.”
“y/n!” Gina’s ecstatic voice made you look up from your food. “You haven’t been to the ranch in years, there’s a break before Spain. Come and ride the horses like old times with me!”
“Well if you did you wouldn’t be alone,” Mick spoke.
“Come on y/n, Billy misses you.” Gina referenced her horse. “And I never get to see you anymore.”
You couldn’t say no to Gina. She was a walking bundle of joy no matter where she was. She always had the power to make even the saddest of people smile. “I’ll think about it.” You smiled back at her. “I may see my parents soon, seeing as they don’t come to the races-”
Mick’s Mum suddenly spoke. “They still haven’t attended a race yet?” Her brows arched at her own question.
“Not any since I’ve joined Redbull. They’re just busy all the time and Formula 1 isn’t really their scene.”
“How so?” Gina asked.
“Too many rich people.”
Mick let out a light laugh at your words, his gaze falling to you as he interjected. “Do they know who their daughter is? And the sport she’s in?”
“Well considering I’m never home anymore I’m sure they’re aware.” Your smile was sarcastic as you met Mick’s gaze, something that boiled Max’s blood even more. Knowing the truth behind the two of you he knew Mick was only ever going to taunt you for his own personal gain, anyone that smug didn’t deserve an ego boost.
“Do they still work?” Mick asked despite knowing the answer to his question.
“They do, they won’t let me retire them-”
“Well to me they seem very proud, not the type to scream from the rooftops.” Max quickly butted in, sending a reassuring smile towards you as the words left his lips.
“Can’t imagine why they wouldn’t scream from the rooftops though,” Despite Max’s attempt to end the conversation about your family, Mick clearly wanted to continue. “It’s not every day someone like you climbs to the top-”
“Someone like me?” Your head snapped to the side, sending a glare towards the blonde. Your actions alone made his hand jump from your inner thigh. “What someone with no money? No status in your world-”
“That’s not what I meant…” His words were stern, almost like he was talking down to you.
“You sure Mick?”
“y/n I meant someone who doesn’t have family in the industry-”
“So a status in the industry?”
“Don’t make this a big thing.” His voice fell to a whisper before he spoke louder. “Not like that, I meant a foot in the door. You and Lewis have a similar story.”
You wanted to yell something back at him, believing he was implying something different when Max’s phone suddenly sounded. Excusing himself from the table he walked away leaving everyone in silence to finish their drinks whilst he paced the restaurant.
“Take your hand off my thigh.” You spoke through gritted teeth at the man who quickly obliged with your request.
“y/n I didn’t mean to imply-”
“Imply what Mick? That I wasn’t rich enough for your sport? That I wasn’t at a high enough status for you?”
“No.” His eyes poured into yours. “Money doesn’t matter in this sport-”
“Of course the rich guy who got here because of his Dad would say that.” Rolling your eyes you slumped back in your chair.
“You know it wasn’t easy for me.”
“But easier for you than me.” You hit back at his words, taking Mick back. As he opened his mouth to reply Max’s voice grabbed everyone’s attention.
“I’m really sorry guys I’m going to have to leave. My neighbour just called and Jimmy managed to escape the flat and now he’s hiding in my neighbour's house. He has a dog so poor Jimmy is stressed out. I’m grabbing a flight now.” Max turned to you. “Can you make your way back to the hotel? Or shall I call you a car?”
Smiling at the brunette a smirk filled your face as you spoke. “I’ll be fine Max, I can get Gasly to come and pick me up.”
Smirking back at your words, knowing you were only trying to piss Mick off he spoke. “I’ll text him a heads up.”
“I can take you back.” Mick now mirrored your and Max’s expression. “I think Gasly mentioned he was heading back to France early, he had a dinner planned with his parents.”
Brilliant.
“It’s fine, I’ll call Oscar.” Your words took Mick back by surprise.
“Oscar? The reserve driver?”
“Nothing gets past you, Mick.”
“Didn’t even know he was capable of even talking to a woman.” He muttered, his attitude showing.
Max said his goodbyes before heading off to his flat seemingly several hundred miles away. It wasn’t long till everyone else said their goodbyes and made their way to the car park. Unlike everyone else you stood just outside the restaurant door, scrolling through your phone and wondering who you could call to come and pick you up, Settling on Daniel you were about to call him when a familiar voice pulled up beside you.
“You know it’s getting late.” Mick looked down at you, hands in his suit pockets. “I don’t want you out here on your own.”
“Since when did you care about my well-being?”
“Just because we ‘hate’ one another doesn’t mean I don’t look out for you.”
“Does that include during the races?”
“Daer God no.” His smile grew. “I thought me pushing you into the wall would’ve answered that question for you.”
“So you’re admitting it?”
“No one else will believe you.”
“I think a few Redbull fans will.”
He shrugged. “They can believe all they want.” His head turned to look down at you. “I still have the Championship.”
“Because you cheated.”
“Oh y/n let it go.” He pulled out the keys to his car before walking over to the passenger door. He opened it before looking back at you, a silent beg to get in the car. You could wait for Daniel but your bed was calling your name and you could ignore Mick if you really wanted to.
“You know Max and Christian will kill you if they see me leaving your car.” Your heels sounded on the concrete as you obliged and climbed into his car.
“Well,” He closed the passenger side door before jogging around to his door. “Good thing Max is on a plane right now and Christian is probably fast asleep.”
“Lucky bloke.”
“Can join me in my bed if you’d like-”
“You didn’t win so no.”
“Give it time.”
Most of the car ride was silent, thankfully. The only sound was the softness of the radio pouring from the speakers of the car. Mick quietly tapped his steering wheel as he drove, humming every now and again if he recognised a song on the radio. Occasionally he’d turn his head and look over to you, almost like he was preparing himself to say something.
“Is something bothering you Mick?” You broke the silence.
“No.” His gaze flickered to you again. “Why?”
“You keep looking over at me.”
“And?”
“Why?”
“Why not? Am I not allowed to look?”
“It’s not that you’re not allowed more not wanted.”
“Can’t help you look good in that dress.”
“I’ll let Pierre know, he picked it.” Your smug grin caught his attention.
“I bet he did.” His grip on the steering wheel tightened. “Can I ask you something?”
“If you must.”
“Are you really fucking Gasly?”
“Why do you automatically jump to me sleeping with other drivers?”
“Because if the two of you were dating I’m sure you wouldn’t have jumped at the idea of sleeping with me again.” His eyes danced over to meet yours. “Unless you just couldn’t help yourself…”
“I was drunk when I agreed to that.”
“Could’ve backed out.”
“You wouldn’t let me.”
Mick laughed at your words. “Very fair point y/l/n… but you still didn’t answer my question.”
“Is it any of your business?”
“Well, considering I’m sleeping with you I’d rather not share.”
“You always did have a tinge of jealousy to you.”
“Not always, you can flirt with as many men as you want but at the end of the day I know that when I’m at the top of the podium you’ll be coming home with me.”
“And when you’re not?”
“You’re too busy out celebrating to even think of another man, you’ve always been the type to sacrifice any relationship for your success.”
“You’re one to talk.”
“That wasn’t the sole reason why I called it quits.”
“Then what was it? The real reason?”
“It’s complicated y/n.” He pulled up to the hotel car park.
“No, it’s not Mick. You still wanted the luxury of taking home as many girls as you could-”
“Oh come on, you know I’m not like that.”
“You act like it at times.”
Rolling his eyes he turned his car engine off. “I’ll never convince you.”
“Maybe if you didn’t- Shit!” Slumping down in your seat as far as you could your hands attempted to cover your face.
“What are you doing?” Mick scrunched his face up in confusion.
“It’s Christian!” Mick scanned the car park before meeting the dull eyes of Christian Horner. “Shit Mick just drive away!”
“Drive away? He’s just watched me pull in here!”
“Then do something!”
“Like what? I can’t just make him leave!”
“Try anything! He’ll kill me if he sees me with you!”
“Fine.” Mick clambered out of the car, locking his vehicle behind him as he caught the attention of Christian Horner. You honestly thought his plan was to just head back into the hotel, exchanging words with Horner until he was out of sight before coming back to get you but as time passed on that plan you thought he had quickly faded.
You: Where are you?
Mick: Got caught up with Toto, I’ll come to get you soon
You: Are you serious Mick? I’m locked in your car
Mick: At least the seats are comfy
You: Mick please hurry up
Mick: I’ll try
You: No come now
Mick: Toto bought me a drink at the bar, I can’t exactly run off
You: Yes you can, tell him you need to go or that you left something in your car
Mick: And then he catches us together?
You: Mick, please
Mick: Please what my love?
You: Just hurry up
You could feel his smirk through the phone which only pissed you off more. Getting up from your crouched position you sat back in your seat, your head fell back as your eyes quickly shut. Sleep slowly took over your body as you did your best to get comfy in Mick’s car seats. At this point you didn’t even care who saw you in his car, you were good at lying and a good lie would easily get you out of your situation although little did you know you wouldn’t be sleeping long in your rival's car.
Sunlight disturbed your sleep, causing your eyes to squint open. Raising your hands to cover your face you groaned at the feeling of being awoken. You had every intention to quickly drift back to sleep when a voice caused your eyes to burst open.
“Morning pretty girl.” Bolting up your eyes met Mick’s who was sitting in a chair opposite the bed you were currently in. “Sleep well?”
“Is this your hotel room?” Ignoring his question your eyes scanned your surroundings.
“Well it isn’t yours.” Mick replied as he brought a mug to his lips.
“How did I get here? Did we…?”
“No we didn’t.” A light chuckle fell from his lips. “I planned to walk back in the hotel with Christian when Toto saw me, he asked if I wanted a drink and I couldn’t exactly say no, could I?”
“I mean you could’ve.”
“It’s Toto Wolff you don’t say no.” Rolling your eyes at the man he quickly continued after a light pause. “Anyeay, he bought me a drink and we got to talking, I did try and get away but you don’t run away from Toto Wolff. When I got back to my car you were asleep, I couldn’t just leave you there so I brought you back here. Your dress is over there,” He pointed to your dress which was currently draped over the bathroom door. “I did my best not to look but I wasn’t going to let you fall asleep in that, it looked so uncomfortable.”
“Thank you, Mick.” Surprisingly the pair of you shared a small smile that didn’t have an underline of sarcasm laced to it.
“You’re welcome.” He moved over and handed you a plate of breakfast. “I’ve booked a late check out for this room and yours so I’ll leave you to it.” He grabbed his things before he walked over to you. Leaning down he planted a kiss on your head, a gesture which took you off guard entirely. “I’ll see you in a few days when I take P1.” Sending you a wink Mick quickly left the room leaving you alone with your thoughts.
He didn’t need to do what he did. He could’ve easily left you in his car for the other drivers to see in the morning and Ferrari wouldn’t bat an eyelid at the Stargirl of Red Bull in his car but Christian Horner would. You finished your food in silence before sneaking back to your own room in his clothes, you’d give him his clothes back eventually but you couldn’t lie that they were comfy. Maybe you’d hang on to them for a little longer than you planned. Ironically the next race was the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix which you won, Mick trailed behind in P2 and Lando claimed P3.
—
Miami was in full swing. You could tell you were in America as everything was amplified by 100. Celebrities littered the garages as the race quickly approached. You were starting in P2, Max in P1 and Mick in P3. You and Max were finishing up your preparations for the race, and one thing the pair of you started doing was playing a game of snap.
Anyone who looked on would’ve thought the two of you were just being childish and didn’t really care about the race ahead but the truth was when you joined Red Bull your anxiety worsened before a race. Max picked up on this almost instantly and posed the idea of doing something to take your mind off what was going on around you both. He posed the idea of playing snap with a deck of cards, the game allowed you to block everything out and completely focus on what was in front of you. Every week he bought different themed cards, last week it was different breeds of cats this week it was zoo animals.
“Snap!” You called out, pointing to the pile of cards before you both. You both sat crossed-legged on the floor hidden away as you played.
“That’s three to you and one to me.” Max kept a little notepad in the garages to keep the tallies of every game. At the end of the season the pair of you would add up who’d won the most and whoever lost had to buy drinks for the team at the end of the season celebrations.
“At this rate, you’ll be buying the drinks in November.” Smirking up at him you shuffled the card deck before splitting it in two.
“It’s a marathon, not a sprint y/n.” He returned the smirk as he looked at his cards. “Ready?”
You nodded as the two of you started to place one card down at a time, the pair of you watching intently at the actions of the other, ready to jump in at any second. Your focus couldn’t be broken until a number of boos and yells sounded at the garage entrance. Both you and Max raised your heads to see Mick Schumacher come strolling towards you both.
“What the fuck are you doing here?” Max spat, standing from the floor.
“I came to speak to-”
“Brilliant you’ve spoken now get the fuck out!” Max blocked Mick from even looking towards you with his frame.
Mick held his hands up in surrender, a smile on his lips. “That’s no way to talk around your teammate's parents.”
“What?” Max scrunched his face up at Mick’s words before his eyes fell on a couple who looked rather similar to you, standing behind the Ferrari driver.
You’d now risen from your spot on the floor and were looking towards the scene before you. “Mum? Dad?” You were just as taken back as Max was. Your parents weaved past your rival and teammate to pull you into a hug. “What are you two doing here?” Your eyes glared at Mick.
“Mick invited us.” Your mother pulled away and smiled at you and Mick. “We couldn’t get here until this morning due to your father’s work but we’re here for the big race!”
“Heard you’re on track to win the World Championship this year!” Your Dad smiled as he spoke. He was always supportive despite knowing very little about Formula 1.
“For now,” Mick spoke, his smug smile gleaming at his remark. You wanted nothing more than to wipe it off his face. You would never be able to read him, one minute he wanted to take care of you, making sure you didn’t get in trouble with your team principal then antagonising you to the point where you contemplated throwing a punch at his perfect face.
“You shouldn’t be in here Schumacher,” Max interjected.
“You’re right Verstappen,” Mick spoke to Max but his eyes never left yours. “Good luck y/l/n. Be safe out there.” He turned on his heel and walked back to the Ferrari garage without another word.
“He seems lovely.” Your Mum put her hand on your arm. “You used to be teammates, didn’t you?”
“That’s what Mick told us.” Your Dad joined in on the conversation.
“We used to drive alongside one another a few years ago yes, for Haas.” You gave them a light smile, your eyes glued to Mick’s figure slowly fading from your eyesight.
“He speaks very highly of you.”
“Does he?” Max asked.
“Oh yes.” Your Dad smiled. “Says you were one of his closest friends.”
Friends that fucked one another.
“Times change when you get to the top.” Grabbing your helmet you quickly said goodbye to your parents as they took their spots in the garage to watch the race.
The race wasn’t the cleanest. A collision between Max, yourself and George made Max retire and you had an unfortunate stop to the garages. The pit stop fixing your car which took a little too long made you come out behind Mick. You tried everything to get past him but he was defending with every fibre of his being. You finished the race in P2 whilst he took the win.
“That was good racing today y/n, really well done,” Christian spoke down the radio. “There’s an investigation against George so we’ll see what comes from that.”
“Won’t take us to P1 but thank you guys for today, good thing we still had one car on the track, how’s Max?”
“He wants Russell’s head on a stick.” You laughed at your team principal's words, you wouldn’t be surprised if Max was waiting for George in the garages.
“I don't blame him.”
A loud sigh left your lips as you parked your car behind the P2. You knew what it meant if you saw Mick in P1. Another night of hell (liar). Yet your anger didn’t last when you saw your parents standing alongside Christian Horner. The pair of them held your country's flag in their hands, screaming your name. Anyone would’ve thought you’d just become a world champion.
Leaving your car you ran straight to them, holding them close as they sang praises in your ears. You moved on to the garage team and Max before heading off to the podium, your smile growing on your face.
“You that excited to sleep with me again?” Mick leaned down and whispered in your ear. The two of you were waiting with Charles to collect your trophies.
“Not everything’s about you Schumacher.” Mick’s hand trailed down your waist, pulling you back against his chest.
“I’ll let you savour the moment with your parents.” You turned your head to meet his gaze. “You can hold up your end of the bet when you come to the ranch.” His lips pecked your forehead before he stepped back, acting like the interaction between himself and you had never happened.
Well, you know what they say, save a horse, ride a cowboy.
