Screenshots on twitter show squigglydigg reblogged a post in support of separating immigrant children from their parents, which, uh, does make their criticism of Lilo rather suspicious. Also kaleiworks/kaleidraws did a follow up on how the film doesn't represent Hawaiian culture correctly and people have criticized *that* argument, as well. Browse the Lilo and Stich, squigglydigg, and kaleiworks/kaleidraws tags on twitter and tumblr to see posts that explain it better than I can, lol.

Without a link to the original post/reblog, I unfortunately am inclined not to believe that. “Screenshots” can be easily faked, sadly. 

That said, I did look up kaleidraws/kalieworks take on Hawaiian culture, and I don’t agree with that take. Unless you yourself are a native Hawaiian, I don’t think you can give critique on the behaviors of natives.

I see why they have their opinions. I don’t necessarily agree with those opinions.

Edit: Not discrediting screenshots. It’s just I, personally, have witnessed discourse before and just prefer links. People don’t delete things if they don’t think they are wrong. People statements are powerful too, so long as it’s more than just one person saying so.

Hey, Hailey! Been a while since I last sent an ask on here, but I just wanted to let you know that I really enjoyed your work on "Behind the Curtain" and your recent Behind the Scenes video for it. It's been refreshing to see Toon Henry resurface after so long as I wholeheartedly enjoyed the AU whenever it first came out, and it was one of the few I encountered that helped inspire me to make my own AU around the time that BatIM Chapter 2 came out! I hope you're doing well for yourself, and I look forward to seeing more from you and your friends in the future! 😁👍

Thank you so much, dude, I'm so glad you enjoyed the release of "Behind the Curtain!!" We all put a lot of work into it, and seeing the response to it has been pretty incredible.

I really enjoyed coming back to the Toon Henry concept as well - it was a lot of fun back in ye olde Tumblr fandom days, and getting to work with @kaleidraws's incredible writing and direction on it has been amazing - especially since now, thanks to her, it has an actual ending (though you guys haven't seen that yet)!!
