Penguin Awareness Day!

Today (January 20) is Penguin Awareness Day! In celebration of these flightless but fast swimmers, I have collected SciArt of penguins found in @biodivlibrary in a Flickr gallery. Have a browse and tell me which is your favorite! 

My featured image is King Penguins (Aptenodytes patagonicus), which are the second largest penguins after the Emperor Penguins (Aptenodytes forsteri). Like the Emperors, they incubate their eggs on their feet! From Tierbau und tierleben in ihrem zusammenhang betrachtet, Vol. 1 (1910-14) by Richard Hesse and Franz Doflein, which was contributed for digitization by MBLWHOI Library.
