How I think random Charlize Theron characters I obsess over would treat you if you were married:

Lorraine Broughton (Atomic Blonde): she‘d probably not be around much due to missions but she‘d treat you well and the sex would be amazing. Also definitely emotionally closed off but would give you the world

Lady Leonora Lesso (school for good and evil): probably a bit possessive but definitely would treat you well and regularly fuck your brains out

Andromache (the old guard): worships the ground you walk on (if you can still walk after she fucks you senseless (best fucker of them all))

Meredith Vickers (alien Prometheus): honestly? Feels like she‘d marry for functionality more than anything else, I don’t see her as the emotional type but her love language is probably gift giving and I feel like it would be relaxed if emotionally distant (also might leave you to go on a suicide space mission)

Cipher (fast and furious): okay, this one can go either way, but I think she has sugar mommy vibes, possessive, controlling but not mean or anything, probs treats you like an exotic pet (also big strap energy)

Elaine Markinson (Gringo): definitely spoils you, emotionally distant but opens up in the quiet moments, can seem like she doesn’t care but she cares a lot

it's taken me forever because the link kept breaking but it's done!! I finally watched Prometheus. included the deleted scenes (I think. there might be some more). mostly I agree with the decision to cut them -some stuff is better left implied than spelled out, like that scene between Meredith and her father-, but I would’ve liked a shorter version of the scene where the captain goes to talk to Meredith after she burns Shaw’s boyfriend, mainly for the quote “I burned my hand.” vis a vis the Lawrence of Arabia motif.

overall I enjoyed it quite a lot. the first half wasn’t grabbing me as much, tbh -I think I was subconsciously comparing it to Alien; the tension build-up there was something else and here... not so much, IMO. my other main gripe with it (beyond “why must I deal with so much casual sexism in a film set in 2094″) was that I found the scenery largely boring. some visuals were sick (complimentary), like the horrifying (again, complimentary) cesarean, and stuff generally surrounding Elizabeth/David/the xenomorth, but overall I expected better and better lightning I’m so tired of dark and grey in films it’s an alien planet you could’ve really gone nuts with it!!!

I liked what I expected to like: everything regarding artificial life/creation/religious metaphors, David 8. plus a few things I wasn’t so sure I would or hadn’t expected because my dashboard talks less about them, like Elizabeth and Elizabeth-David (especially the latter I had NOT expected to enjoy this much lol); or Meredith and the Meredith-David(-Weyland) family dynamic, that I wish we’d seen more ngl.

finally, a few things on the list have planted a seed, or implanted an embryo, so to speak, that I can already see influencing my own writing and ideas in the future, which I always welcome ^-^

It's wednesday apparently, and since my brain has somewhat recovered I decided to post a sneak peek for a future Meredith Vickers/ ofc oneshot for the Pet Project series.

Tagged by the wonderful @mxkelsifer (thank you so much!)

“Hey honey I’m home!” I loved calling out to Meredith like this, mostly because it infuriated her. She didn’t like the domesticity of the statement which of course meant I teased her endlessly with it.

“There you are”, Meredith appeared in the open living room before I had left the hallway entirely.

Her impatience confused me, as did her lack of annoyance about my statement.

“What happened?” I asked, automatically assuming the worst, even though she didn’t smell stressed.

My eyes wandered over her outfit. She still wore her office clothes, though without the suit jacket. Grey dress pants and a white shirt remained, but without any shoes, so she didn’t have any important calls anymore.

“Nothing happened”, she said with a scowl.

I closed the distance and brushed away the furrow between her brows, relishing the fact that I could touch her whenever I wanted in here. Out there she was the untouchable Meredith Vickers, my project manager and if at all could be considered a friend. In here, she was my girlfriend. My partner. My everything.

“Why are you scowling then?” I asked and resisted the urge to pepper her face with kisses just barely.

“Because I need to talk to you and you weren’t here when I got back from my board meeting”, Meredith still sounded very pissed, but the frown didn’t return as my finger kept trailing over her face.

“Darling, I always go running at this time.”

“I know”, she huffed, “doesn’t mean it can’t inconvenience me.” She pulled me closer for a kiss, putting her other hand on my hips. It never failed to amaze me how unfazed she was by me being sweaty from my workouts.

Everything about her was always clean and tidy but for some reason she never minded getting her hands dirty with me. I smiled against her lips.

Meredith broke the kiss. “Why are you smiling?”

“Shouldn’t I smile when you kiss me?”

“Not like this”, she was back to scowling, wow she was in a terrible mood for ‘nothing had happened’.
