Ona, goddess of plants and science (mostly medicine) -can grow anything anywhere, very proud of weeds that break through the sidewalk -no associated animals but is very fond of bees and hummingbirds -does not have a divine domain strictly separated from earth but has blessed plenty of earth spots -if a forest or field seems way too lush it's either fae or Ona, she's a lot nicer than the fae -will bless farms and gardens that are really well taken care of by people, giving really good harvest -in general likes plants more than people but will be nice to people who respect her domain -may cause a landslide to keep people from harming a forest -very supportive of people studying plants to help them survive the ever changing climate conditions -fascinated by all the uses people have found for plants over the millennia but especially natural medicine -will help people grow plants they need to make remedies and give them some divine inspiration to find new cool things -does not take servants but kind of adopts people sometimes while they're still living -is fond of children that take their first interest in botany and growing stuff -will keep their plants alive while they figure out how to properly care for them -big softy when it comes to things living in or near her blessed spots -will have trees move around to protect burrows or grow extra lush to hide nests -may drop a branch on a hunter's head... or a tree if they need more persuasion -but will provide convenient hollow tree and the like as shelter for well intentioned hopeless traveler -generally fond of well intentioned morons -also fond of artists and poets that make beautiful things about plants -has dark earthy skin and thick curly red and orange hair -and SO many freckles, on her face and body -they may or may not be seeds that make beautiful plants and trees that can never die -she's pretty sure Magryn made those stories up, but it's cute -will always have flowers braided in her hair -sometimes she uses those to make very special plants and trees -has amber eyes that go light when it's sunny and darker when it's rainy, very dark when it's snowing -her clothes look a lot like plants, sleeveless green tunic/dress that falls to her knees that has flowers growing on it -the flowers always change colors to fit her moods -also has vines going down her arms and legs, may grow thorns when she's angry -is tall and big, looks very soft and comfy, also very strong, big muscles -does not pick fights unprovoked but will end them -only metal she wears is trinkets Magryn gave her, golden shinies usually -she keeps the one she doesn't use buried under her favourite plants in her blessed spots -had very little in relationships with humans (because she already has a godly girlfriend and that's enough for her) -but likes women better whenever she gets tempted -is very big on symbolism with her gifts, especially flower meanings -makes alcohol from plants growing in her blessed spots, very strong magic alcohol, can get even gods drunk -will give it to Magryn and watch the chaos unfold, makes sure it's harmless chaos -is not good alcohol for humans to drink -walks barefoot while in nature but will wear shoes in cities/unnatural ground (asphalt, cement...) -or will have wild grass and flowers break through to walk on -rarely seen in temperate climates during winter except maybe evergreen forests -shows up every where warm all year long -likes to lay down on the tall grass or moss or forest/jungle floor and feel everything around -never sits straight, usually crosslegged or leaning on things, preferably trees -underwater plants are someone else's domain but she likes visiting them too

Things about about them together: -together very long, millennia -sometimes apart for long periods, by human standards -took some of each other’s habits or interests, Magryn is careful about her tricks not harming plants if possible, Ona uses vines to trip annoying people... -look after each other’s chosen humans -their domain/blessed spots have things for the other, Ona has lots of perching trees in hers, Magryn’s castle has plants growing on the walls everywhere -will show each other exciting new things, usually Magryn shows Ona new human inventions, and Ona shows Magryn interesting places her birds can’t get to -very cuddly, braid each other’s hair and stuff -courtship involved lot of gifts they thought the other would like -both go all soft and heart eyed listening to the other about their interest

What's your favourite fandom? What do you want to make but not have time for? Do you have a go-to comfort trope?

I don’t so much have a favorite fandom as I have favorite playgrounds.

…fuck that was an incredibly Selina Kyle thing to say. (I was a Catwoman fan first, Batman came later)

This got really rambly, so put things under the cut so I don’t take up too much of people’s dashboards.

Right now, I’ve been nestled into a large cacophony of DC and Marvel comics, partially because I’m playing Meddling Metas (the tabletop that Ada’s from and that @superkamigodespurrdragonofmars is running) and partially because there are so many interpretations of characters and that’s fucking fascinating for me.

Like right now, I’ve been doing this experiment in playing Avengers Academy. Because it’s the most high key 2013 thing I’ve seen, all it’s missing is Homestuck and OFF references. The characterizations of various Marvel characters is so odd and I mean odd in the most fond way possible. I can send Nebula, galactic assassin and daughter of Thanos, to go graffiti her name on Nick Fury’s office. The main three students, the Harry Potter-esque “Founding Three” is Tony Stark, Janet van Dyne, and Loki. It has an energy that’s very similar to whenever I go and read Golden-Silver Age DC comics. Watching the Fire Emblem-like social interactions is the highlight of the game because everyone has the same animations and the dialogue is just so. So. 2013. I can’t really pin it down other than that timestamp.

On the DC end of things, I’ve been having a blast catching up on @chrisdee‘s Cat Tale’s series. I wasn’t expecting to like Doris as much as I do, but she’s an intensely fun character that stands up against Dee’s fun characterization of Catwoman. Is there a Doris fanclub? I want in. The Russia thing was, to paraphrase Dee’s Kyle, “my kink”.

Other than that, current fandoms I’ve been having fun interacting with have been ROTTMNT (though on a much more laid back basis than a couple months ago due to accidentally pushing myself too hard with socializing on that front) and GW2. With Fortuna coming out today, I might delve back into Warframe fic-writing. Maybe.

Second question, big thing I wanna do but don’t have time for. The projects I have don’t necessarily have time concerns so much as it’s energy. 

Low-Key is going to be an on-going project for the next several years, because I’ve got the next “book” in the Rogue Hero trilogy (Hackity-Hack, Cold Front, and [CENSORED]) planned, along with Interlude: Key Distribution, the next duo part of Low-Key (which I’ll name drop as An Opportunaty to Learn. It’s all set in Atlantis and it heavily features La’gann because man, does that boy need fic in his tag that actually has him as a main character), then an interlude for Theo’s origin story, then Network Takeover, and then the planned pay off to the Pen Pals subplot (the Arbitrator stuff name-dropped from time to time). Then there’s a whole other “book” and an interlude that’s gotta do with one of Theo’s bio-family coming up and that whole thing shaking the setting I’ve got going over there (long story short in a confusing manner, Theo’s gonna get some good volunteer work done and Leonard’s gonna be in hysterics).

I’m gonna finish Mean, but cute, but progress on that is slow because right now it’s mostly my vent fic for “Things Mare wants to do in Meddling Metas, but cannot because Stage Fright”. It’s also a neat playground for some magic mechanics that I’ve been working on for a bit that might feature in Low-Key because DC is a lazy bitch and doesn’t actually HAVE an established magic system that SON OF A BITCH COMPANY. It’s also a place where I get to write a Catwoman-esque character and honestly, that is so utterly my Thing that it’s not even funny. Astraia is a walking, talking example of all of the things that go into my character design process and it’s not even funny. Okay it’s a little funny considering she was an accidental creation.

Other than that, I don’t have any huge dream projects that’d require more time. If I had more money, I’d go and commission so many artists. So many. I’ve got a spreadsheet of artists and their commission posts and what I’d want to commission them for. Fuckit, lemme shill a few of them.

For Low-Key, I’d commission filibusterfrog because their lines and colors match a lot of what’s going on in my head as I go into Theo-mode for narration. It’s actually frog’s indirect fault that Theo’s theme color went from green to blue: a lot of frog’s art that feature’s blue kinda vibrates with a Theo energy? I don’t know how to describe it other than that. Like I’m a noted Blue Bitch when it comes to colors, but Theo was very strongly gonna be green until I saw some of frog’s magic scar pictures. I think it was specifically the Cold variant of Chaos Bolt?

For Meddling Metas, my go-to artist is hyperbali. Kyla has really great lines, colors, and a very wonderful sense of pulling together outfits. Their picture they did of Ada? Is amazing and I love it to BITS.

For Mean, but cute, I’d go with either frog again or Floh. Floh’s got a really nice lineless style that I super love and could see being very good for Astraia. Her tarot cards are also super legit and something I’ve been tempted to grab for a specific Meddling Metas character.

Now, go-to comfort trope. In general, I am a huge Romance fan, like I will go into Character x Reader tags because there’s such a plethora of content that’s constantly put out that fits that. More specifically, I will always, always enjoy Found Family (sighs deeply, motioning at Low-Key) and Mutual Pining (SIGHS LOUDER, MOTIONS AT UNRELEASED LOW-KEY CONTENT). In general, the easy way to tell is if I write it as a celebrated thing (like the grumpy pants dad nature of Leonard in Low-Key or the sci-fi nature of Theo’s magic as examples), I most likely deeply enjoy it. Something else I deeply enjoy reading too is reading about a character working through childhood trauma inflicted on them by their parents. When done well, it’s a really comforting experience because I can point at them and go “I can do it too”.

Also yes, at this point I'm just making all the Asian characters in the yakuza and the others in the mafia because I'm trying to keep it as realistic as possible (I'm not sure if that makes sense or not but yes, also you wouldn't typically see people not of asian ethnicity in a yakuza group so) I hope you enjoy it :D

 Once, there was a young mistress born to a powerful family; a flower no man dared to touch, as a prick on the finger is the least you would have to worry about. Every man who came to ask for her hand in marriage failed and quickly fled, some even ended up losing a hand.

She was the rose of the Onryo Clan. Little did they know someone would come along and pick her out of the garden.

 Once, there was a young man who was known to bring about one thing wherever he went: Blood. He was loud, fierce eyes and a cigarette between his teeth. His laugh could be both contagious and terrifying, given the situation. He was buck wild and ruthless, but family was everything to him. 

He was the infamous heir to the Madej Gang. Little did they know that one day, he was going to end up pricking himself holding the thing he loved most.

The two met one fine morning, the young mistress was on a trip to the States along with her father; thinking he could probably find someone fitting for his daughter there. The young mistress was out on a walk, it was horribly stuffy being in a hotel room for so long. Although half a dozen yakuza men trailed behind you sneakily, it was better than being in that room.

It was both exciting and terrifying to be on new soil, especially one that was so far from your turf. There was a soft clatter from behind her. The mistress turned around in time to see a pair of tinted glasses fall to the ground. She crouched down to pick them up just as the owner did the same. Their fingers brushed slightly and both retracted their hands as if in fear. The mistress looked up with large, nervous eyes and was met with a pair of warm brown ones. That was all it took, a brush of fingers and they fell. They fell so, so, so hard.

Soft kisses on the neck, hearty laughter, cigarette smoke and flowers on your doorstep. It was perfect. The two were so young and in love, nothing else in the world mattered. Not her father’s disapproving look, not the blood he has to clean off his hands every night, not the ghosts whispering in her ears to run. Nothing.

Next thing you know, it was gunshots and screams. The mafia’s enemy, a man humiliated by the young heir, decided to sneak into the heir’s home with intentions of taking a life. What he did not know was that he wouldn’t be taking the heir’s life, but his heart instead. First was her scream as she lunged at him, then it was the gun shot, then silence. She fell into his arms, limp as red began to stain the sheets.

Another life was taken that night.

The heir went to the Oyabun of the Onryo Clan with dead eyes and a body in his arms. Her father wanted to kill him, but the old man couldn’t bring himself to do it. Something resonated within the old man as he swung the knife down on him, it was the fact that he did not struggle or flinch. It was not bravery, he thought, it was loss.

Ever since then, the two gangs were in an all out war. Most of it was due to the pain that her death brought, the rest was due to a miscommunication between the two sides 

Eventually, the head of the Onryo Clan passed away and was replaced with another. The new Oyabun carried a strong hatred for the Madejs for killing his sister. This hatred was then passed on for at least four more generations. It got so bad to the point that if anyone from the two sides met, blood would definitely be spilt.

As decades pass, the gangs grew drastically and both became powerhouse groups. Madej’s had the West in their grasps while Onryo’s had the East, although the yakuza started expanding to other countries and even America. This brought in more trouble, blood spilt daily but they didn't care; The yakuza were petty. They started buying over the Madej’s accomplices and sources, starting from the bottom and working to the top. How? You wonder; by this time, the yakuza have already established ties with suppliers in China, Korea, and some states in the US. They were loaded with cash, maybe even had some government help but who knows. The mafia was being stripped of their money, information, manpower, and soon there would be nothing left to take.

The Godfather sits in his chair, a cigarette in his hand as his mind start to come up with a solution. He calls for his right hand man, the underboss notorious for being the perfect killer. All targets assigned to him is never heard of again, or the cops assigned to the cases.

“What’s up old man?” asked the underboss, leaning on the Godfather’s desk with a bored look.

“Shane, I’m going to need you to book us a flight to Tokyo.”

“What.”

“Yes, take Sara, Andrew and their soldiers. Also, get Adam on the phone.”

“All of them? Wait, why?”

“I know a way to fix this mess,” the man grins and only receives an even more confused expression from his son.

“How exactly?”

“I’m going to visit an old friend.”

Shane can only raise an eyebrow, but orders are orders. He does as he is told, no questions asked. Shane just hopes his dad won’t end up getting himself killed.

“Oyabun!” exclaims a silver haired fellow as he shoves the sliding door open and runs into the room where the head of the clan is sitting in along with his Wakagashira (second in command). The older man simply tells the fellow to lower his voice and calm down.

“Woah, what happened Steven?” asked the Wakagashira, eyeing his friend with worry. He places a hand on Steven’s shoulder to steady the man.

“T-the” Steven takes a deep breath before continuing.

“Our informants just sent news that the mafia is here, in Tokyo. And they're heading here in huge numbers.”

“Which mafia?”

“The Madej”

The Oyabun turns to look at the other male, who happens to do the same. They nod to each other before helping Steven up. The air has turned heavy within the span of a few seconds and the Oyabun’s eyes turn dark and hooded, it sends shivers to the other two.

“Steven, go alert the others and tell them to gather in the main hall. Masks and weapons at the ready.”

The silver haired man quickly nods and runs off. The Oyabun then turns to his Wakagashira and places a hand on the man’s arm.

“We need to change into a more appropriate attire, guests will be visiting.” Says the Oyabun, flashing a soft smile that contrasts to the hatred boiling in his eyes.

“Of course, I just sharpened by sword this morning. It must be my lucky day.”

“Indeed it is. Don’t forget your mask, Ryan. Let’s give them a warm welcome.”

Ryan only smiles back before walking out.

PART 3! (no one can stop me)

NOTE: this is MY version of the au. if you have a different version of it than please don’t let mine trample yours. infact TELL ME IT PLEASE. I LIKE TO HEAR ABOUT OTHER PEOPLES AU’S/HEADCANNONS/IDEAS/etc…

thought I'd start off with talking about the chaos faction of this au. because my brain is just random like that(and I'm too nervous to tell y'all the main cast and story yet)

minor note: all the characters look like their canon selves. I don't think I should mention this but I may as well for anyone who's curious.

jyugo's father: the ruler of the chaos faction. absolutely LOVES being the ruler and doesn't want to give up his thrown ever. although do to a certain law he needed to have an heir to the throne(even though he didn't want one) so he went off and got some girl pregnant and got jyugo.(it's unknown who the mother is since she's absent in this. there is rumor that she may have been a human but it's only a rumor). doesn't really care much for jyugo and lets him do his own thing; unlike jyugo(whose a Japanese dragon), his dragon form consists of wings; loves chaos and always wants to go and piss of the harmony faction so that they can fight(it's like he's poking a bear with a stick); has a BIG hoard FULL of treasures; human form: visible horns, tail and occasionally wings. outfit is the same one he's seen in in canon.

elf: is an actual elf in this au(unfortunately he's not cute or tiny); the rulers right hand man; he always gives him ideas on how to make things more chaotic and ruling the kingdom; he's secretly working behind the ruler's back by working for the man with the scar; falsely accused musashi for setting a town on fire and killing thousands;

jyugo: black and red Japanese dragon; the future heir to the chaos faction; he does not like it one bit; he mostly just wanders all over the place cause he's board; became friends with rock and nico; came to the human world to escape from being the new heir and also because he was board; he mostly wandered around a lot till he met Uno. they became friends rather quickly; doesn't know anything about the human world so he just stays quiet; mostly lounges at uno's place while he's out working. or he's wandering around someplace else and getting into minor trouble; human form: he doesn't have his shackles in this au(they get replaced with his claws). when he used to live in his world he wore a royal kimono(something like this: https://silverangel19.tumblr.com/post/157021663523/royaltyau-where-nanba-is-a-huge-ass-country-with#notes)  (sorry but I'm not original when it comes to outfits sometimes.). after coming to the human world he downsizes it to looking like a regular black kimono and sandals. he occasionally shows off his tail and horns but not all the time.(he's actually kind of shy about them).

rock: big purple and red dragon with wings and horns; is one of the only friends jyugo and nico have; left his world after being commanded by jyugo's father to find jyugo. he ended up getting distracted by food and forgot the mission; he did find jyugo later but since he forgot the mission he just stayed where jyugo is at(thankfully uno's place is big enough for 4 people); he also brought nico with him too to help him in this; is considered by Liang to be his 'rival' because he always got beaten during their 'battles'; in actuality rock just thought they were roughhousing and doesn't see Liang as a rival(with how he acts rock just considers him a nuisance sometimes). human form: in his world rock is dressed similar to a working peasant (with the neck of the shirt going far down and showing off his chest like his jumpsuit) after coming into the human world he changed into a white t-shirt, jeans an boots. most of the time he shows off his wings (which everyone admires).

nico: a human peasant that lives in the chaos faction; has multiple diseases and allergies from their world; the only human friend jyugo and rock have; also forgot the mission to bring jyugo back cause he got distracted by anime that was on the outdoor TV's; now that he's in the human world he has access to medicines that can cure and/or treat his diseases and allergies; lives with rock, jyugo, and Uno at Uno's place; his outfit in their world was a long grey cloak that covered his arm and leg. his hair covered his eye. after coming to the human world Uno went out and bough him a bunch of new outfits so they vary on certain days. most of them are long sleeved. his eye, arm, and leg are all covered in gauze bandages(or occasionally an eye patch and glove); ends up becoming friends with upa;

(putting the rest under the cut because I'm not happy with it)

musashi: yellow and orangish red dragon; used to originally live in the harmony faction until he was falsely accused of setting fire to a village there, along with being accused of murdering his parents. he was then banished from the harmony faction and sent to the chaos faction. after being banished he was then enslaved by the scarred man and elf. later he escaped with many injuries and the loss of one of his eyes; one time he saw elf with jyugo and believed that the reason for his false accusion and enslavement was all the work of the ruler or possibly his son; at one point he confronted and the two battled, which ended with musashi losing his other eye; after finding out about jyugo's disappearance he left the dragon world to go in search of him and fight him again for answers; confronts him again but their meeting is interrupted by kenshirou finding them. this causes jyugo to escape and musashi to be captured and brought back to their world; waiting to be punished musashi tells his story to kenshirou, who actually believes him. apparently there have been cases of false accusations on certain dragons and them being banished from their fractions or their world in general and he believes that whoever is doing this must be stopped. the two of them join together to stop whatever menace is doing this; human form: basically the same outfit he has in canon but without the piercings.

enki: large brownish red and silver dragon; used to live in the harmony faction until he was banished for killing a fellow dragon; whatever happened in the manga happened to him here, but a little different because dragons; attempted to kidnap jyugo and bring him back to their world but ended up accidentally dragging everyone else whose in this there as well; is still in touch with noriko and inori, despite the fact that their in the harmony faction; human form: a traditional Chinese outfit that's the similar style to his guard outfit in the series(or something like that)

ruka: aquaish blue water dragon; human form: wears a short aqua colored kimono, the necklace that he wears in the series and gladiator sandals. the kimono is designed similar to the piece of clothe he wears on his uniform in the series. it also has holes in the shoulder area(now I'm wondering if this is a kimono or not. whatever I'm tired and I'll come back to this later if I have to); uses his small trident more in this than the bishons(he uses them later for battling kiji); followed enki to the human world to help him(and for other reasons); shows off his tail and fins.

sorry for being half-assed with some of these but I'm tired. I wanted to go more detail with enki and ruka's outfits but I'm just got burned out and really tired and just don't want to write this anymore(not the au, the outfits) I'll probably go back and change things if I have to. like always if you want to talk about it or you want to put in your own input/opinion of this au PLEASE DO SO. I LOVE hearing them and talking to people. (collapsed from exhaustion in the hidey hole)
