Some doodles from yesterday (❁´◡`❁)
Since I have to yap about every little thing I draw, I'm hiding it here <3
I threw on one of my playlists and made myself do quick doodles per song.. I only did five but it was fun challenging myself to just get stuff down and not worry so much about it.. ANyway elephant in the room: Love Story of course.
I'm joking but. But I gave her white lilies... not her wedding flowers but Mirror's funeral flowers. I think it's fun
Speaking of him. Mirror has different outfits for every arc and I want to draw all of them.. This one is his Empire of Hiedero Arc, maybe??? I considered Rapid Corpus but I think he's only expose his shoulders around Rukka since he's more relaxed then
Yaldy in Jose's outfit because I think it's so cute
Adam was fun to doodle again, I really like his design I just never draw him. He looks pissed the hell off (●'◡'●)
And as always I'm late to art meme trends, but I've wanted an excuse to draw Maggies and Yaldy together so I scribbled them out (my gijinkas since. I think regular Yaldy is far larger than egg Magolor so. You wouldn't see him at all). Those two seem so wildly different but are more alike than I thought.. evil controlling god wannabes are my favourite genre o(*°▽°*)o
They would kill each other though for sure

So I've been getting back to my replay of Royal and left off before the first foray into Maruki's Palace. It's already one of my favourite segments in a videogame ever but, not speaking Japanese, I was curious and used Google Lens to try and translated some of the banners and signs in that opening segment I passed over the first time around, and jeeeeeeesus I'm immediately reminded why I fucking love Maruki
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Maruki's Palace has such an uncanny way of getting under my skin not only in the faux-heavenly atmosphere re-appropriated from pure white to clinical white, from glorious gold to mechanical, but in the sense that moreso than any other palace (Futaba's as a runner up) Maruki's is the mind of a deeply damaged person.

Is Adam/Ainosuke from Sk8 The Infinity a Maruki?
Persistence | They get up again
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In sk8, rad skateboard battles are magic that can change hearts. Skating kind of functions like cognitive psience. Maruki would get hurt while learning to skate. He may not be naturally athletic, but he is persistent.
The Gentle Madman
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ainosuke's baseline is like Palace Maruki. They wield a well-fitted suit, a charming personality, and very convincing arguments.
The Matador of Love
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I see Adam, matador of love, as Ainosuke's metaverse form. Maruki would use his staff to do cool flips. I like their masks, their armor, and their flamboyant flair.
Come forth, Persona!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Their religious metaphors have a lot of the same bones. Paradise, Adam, and temptation.
Before we continue, I want to acknowledge that Adam is regularly creepy and awful towards minors. Gross.
The creepy sexy panopticon
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
They both spend much of their time gathering information about the world. To better understand it. To better shape it with their tentacles.
Before the fall
Tumblr media Tumblr media
ASFDsdyfdsfs.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tragedy changes you. Ainosuke became devilish, and Maruki became saintly. Perhaps, with a nudge from Tadashi/Shibusawa, they might have walked different paths.
Adam/Ainosuke from Sk8 The Infinity gets a 9/10 on the Maruki scale.

Morgana sweats as he falls upon the lower floor of Maruki’s palace, Adam Kadmon had knock both him and Tiefsee out of the upper layer of Maruki’s palace.
Morgana sweats, the black cat panting and sweating having already dropped his sword onto the ground, as hears the elegant yet graceful tap of boots Morgana grins.
“ Thanks for coming Tiefsee!” Morgana says eying the dumbo octopus Metaverse creation the same short height as him with light creamy orangish yellow skin with pointy elf ears long orangish yellow tentacle tendril hair with piercing reddish pink eyes with heavy eyeliner covered by a golden masquerade mask with a trident theme, underneath Tiefsee’s long grey trenchcoat adorned with golden buttons and a skull & crossbones badge he wears a white collared shirt with a light pastel reddish pink frilly tie around it and he wore light pastel reddish pink frilly gloves, his pants can rarely be seen under his trenchcoat but they match the color of his collared shirt which is white, he wears white boots with black stripes on the edge and with small gold buttons in the back and on his shoulder their are gold Epaulletes.
“ What are we going to do Tief?!” Morgana asks urgently as Tiefsee shakes his head.
“ I don’t know! Maruki’s stupid false reality has prevented me from processing data to access situations like I usually do!” Tiefsee says panicking as suddenly Adam Kadmon appears, the tall golden mechanical giant staring at them.
“ Tief! Watch out!” Morgana exclaims pulling out his sword as he tries to cut through Adam Kadmon but is pushed back. Morgana summons his third semester persona Diego as Diego casts Garudyne onto Adam Kadmon but Adam Kadmon destroys Diego with a single step as Morgana jumps back in pain.
“ Mona! Are you okay?!!” Tiefsee says with genuine concern written all over his face.
“ Tief.. please defeat Adam for me…” Morgana says as Tiefsee retorted.
Even though he couldn’t process data correctly currently he will help Morgana.
Tiefsee materialized his golden bladed anchor with a golden handle connected to a golden chain similar to that of a morning star. as Tiefsee threw his Anchor into Kadmon’s Back as he used the chain to pull himself up there.
“ I’m doing this for Morgana! For Akechi! For everybody!” Tiefsee thought to himself as suddenly a blue energy surrounds him as his Persona transforms into his new third semester Persona Edward, the now turquoise teal skinned half merman with long pastel light turquoise teal hair with a small emperors crown on it with tear shaped code coming out of it as Edward’s scleras are black with water tear shaped code in them and a closed mouth wearing a light dark turquoise fish tail scales themed raincoat with long puffy sleeves, actually opposable legs with scales on them and part bright turquoise teal with rainbow scale themed stripes heeled boots with a seashell shape at the end of them and wielding a fishing rod with multiple sharp bladed Darts at the end.
“ Rippled Heartache!” Tiefsee says as Edward channels his water energy as drips of water appear around him as the bladed darts from his fishing rod’s end become coated in water as the darts enters Kadmon’s body destroying it piece by piece as it makes a water heart shape before exploding as Tiefsee surely but gracefully landed on the floor.
Morgana got up as well happily hugging Tiefsee.
“ That was amazing Tiefsee! And you awakened to your third semester Persona as well! See? I knew you would get one!” Morgana says as Tiefsee blushes as he leans into the hug.
“ Thanks Mona.. now I’m sure the others are having a more easier time defeating Maruki..” Tiefsee says sweating while hugging Morgana, Tiefsee has worked hard today and so has Morgana, so they deserve to embrace each other.

If you mix....
Adam Kadmon and Blue Star + Maruki included
You'll have a :
Tumblr media
Hoo B o I hi got inspired by lobotomy corporation & @mmmn-thristy-for-vinegar 's experiment AU
( seriously questions that will make you say 🤔 )
Can he walk in his sandals? Yes. But he can only walk in them
What did it cost him to be this way? It's easy
He can't wear no shirt. Because basically it will combust in flames.
But what about his labcoat? It basically tanked it. because his labcoat is built different! 😎👍
Why he does have four arms? I thought it would be cute yet helpful!
Can he eat? Yes regular foods. And basically can drink apple juice without circuiting himself because he made himself waterproof.
And that is all 👋

my hot p5r take is that rather than adam kadmon the final boss should have been Manu. Also a ‘first man’ figure, far more clearly represents the idea of ordered hierarchy being a neccessary component to ‘happiness’, the jrpg franchise with the most explicit references to south Asian mythology, etc

Random P3Re dlc speculation at 12am
Given that DLC personas were probably the most lucrative DLC of P5/P5R (cough cough Izanagi-no-Okami cough cough) I would be shocked if there weren't DLC personas in P3Re so here's my prediction list (I guarantee all of these will get second forms like the Picaro Personas)
Izangai
Izanagi-no-Okami
Magatsu Izangai
Kaguya
Ariadne
Asterius
Tsukuyomi
Arsene (Phantom Show)
Satanael (Sinful Shell)
Robin Hood/Loki (Rebellion Blade or Laevateinn)
Cendrillon (Brave Step or Masquerade)
Azathoth/Adam Kadmon (Guiding Tendril)
Pithos/Pandora
Valjean

Top 15 Best Boss Fights I’ve Ever Faced Across my Gaming Career
Bosses, difficult challenges, and painful struggles are really what I strive for in video games as well as moments that really connect you with the plot and show you the power you’re dealing with. They also lead to a surprising amount of emotional moments and really tying yourself to a game. I’ve fallen in love with a lot of them over the years. This is, by no means, a be-all-end-all list and will change in the future. It’s also my opinion. This is a long one. And I’m sorry. But not sorry.
Lavenza (P5R)—Truly one of the more emotionally charged fights and it scratches an itch that no other fight does in any game I’ve ever played. Lavenza made me cry post-fight because of the comforting words and her relating it to how resilient through struggle I am at a time where I REALLY needed to hear that. It’s not the hardest I’ve ever played, but what it does is get you immersed in the game itself. I cannot tell you how many hours I spent concept crafting and mixing loadouts and reworking personas to fit my purpose while relishing in how much you can do. It also forces you to think critically in a way that involves controlling your own luck in a way that’s really satisfying. Truly will ALWAYS be a fight I look forward to and my favorite fight of all time so far.
Malenia, Blade of Miquella (Elden Ring)—A lot of people will think I’m crazy for this. I’m not. This is the closest thing to Lavenza in a Dark Souls game. It’s a battle that involves a lot of critical thinking, timing, and a bit of luck. It also creates the vibe of that “it’s all been leading to this”. She also puts up a nasty fight and I am a masochist.
Sister Friede and Father Ariandel (DS3)—The marathon fight that I always enjoy. I seem to have a habit for loving fights that are me taking down the leader of a false paradise and this is far from different. She also keeps me on my toes especially with the more clunky feel of Dark Souls.
Blade Bearer and Cannoneer (Code Vein)—Another fight that people probably wouldn’t agree with and, yet, here we are. Basically, a fight you’ll see very soon, but anime and with more fluid movement in my opinion.
Ornstein and Smough (DS1)—Told you you’d see them soon. These two whet my never ending appetite for challenge and boss fights by truly giving a fight that made me thirsty for more. It also added the ability to really appreciate what goes into creating a balanced fight and what that means.
Justine & Caroline, The Twins (P5R)—This fight is a joy. Not nearly as hard or strict as Lavenza, but definitely provides a different flavor for my love for Persona combat. It really gives you the ability to show off your mastery of the system while getting beat down by the most aggressively vicious grade schoolers I’ve ever met.
Human Reaper (ME2)—Different from any other boss on this list, this fight is purely for the aesthetics and the dope soundtrack. It also really sparked the hobby of gaming and how important it is in my life to this day and I can’t thank it enough for how much it did for me.
Virgil (DMC3, DMC5)—These two fights carry the same spot because they both essentially cover the same endgame spot and carry the same punishing difficulty. They also really give you that feeling of power fantasy and clashing with a difficult opponent in a game that seems easy, but has a fairly high skill floor and ceiling.
Cynthia (Pokémon Diamond and Pearl)—This chick whet my thirst for blood by handing my ass to me so many times as a kid. She also set me up for my deep love and appreciation for the variable difficulty you can set for yourself in turn-based combat games like Persona as well as the customization. Something that a lot of games nowadays just don’t have and not a lot of people have really fully grasped yet.
Maruki, Azathoth and Adam Kadmon (P5R)—Truly a battle of ideals. Twins and Lavenza very much eclipse this fight. However, this fight is personal because it really hammers down the points that made me into the person I am. I would not be here without the same lessons I hammer into Maruki. And it’s, in part, because of this fight that I will never forget who I am or the strife-filled path I took to get here. Because those scars mark not only how hard I fought, but how hard I’m willing to fight. Cheesy, I know, but I am an emotional bitch now.
Delilah Copperspoon (Dishonored 2)—Probably the only not-really-a-boss fight on this list, but I’ll count it because it’s the closest thing this game has. It also forces you to think critically about movement and line of sight in the ways Assassin’s Creed could do better plus having an entity who doesn’t die in one hit in a stealth based game and giving an option to make your attempts more difficult to keep her alive is a very fun addition.
Doppelgängers (Ikenfell)—A hidden fight that you really have to dig around to find and it really pays off. It also has one of the most cathartic finishes and deeply emotional scenes of any game I’ve ever played. It’s also fairly difficult if you aren’t prepared.
Sword Saint Ashina (Sekiro)—I love this fight. Power fantasy meets difficulty. It also has the best From Software combat system I’ve ever played. All of that adds up to a system with a lot of fluidity and freedom that still manages to be incredibly difficult.
Darkeater Midir (DS3)—I love dragons and I love dragon fights. This is truly the best of them and no attempt in any series has ever come anywhere close to matching this.
Radiance (Hollow Knight)—This moth motherfucker really hit a unique nerve when it came to me enjoying Hollow Knight. It activated both the spite nerve and the sore loser nerve that connects to both the masochist and the godkiller instincts in my brain where most of my resilience comes from. He kicked my ass for hours. We eventually beat it and it remains one of my most satisfying victories to date.

I’ve seen a few artists on Twitter portray Maruki with a large bruise on the back of his neck from where Adam Kadmon literally leeched off him in his boss fight.
Think there’s some angsty potential there

So I was thinking about Maruki (as I do 23 hours and 48 minutes a day, leaving 10 minutes for existential dread and 2 for sleep) and I was reminded of that Robert Caro quote (shout out to Lindsay Ellis' Game of Thrones videos), 'Power doesn't always corrupt, but it always reveals', to paraphrase, the idea that there are such people who are incorruptible and those we believe in power who've let it control them didn't need much corrupting to begin with.
I think about all the people who've wronged Maruki like the robbers, the guy who pulled all funding from Maruki's research etc. And how the very notion of revenge never even occurred to him, he had god-like power to rewrite their lives but, because Maruki was always a good person going about his quest wrong, he didn't let the power get to him because therr was nothing there to get.

Can I ask? Do you believe in the headcanon that Azathoth and Adam kadmon aren't Maruki's real personas? If so way?
Well, my answer to this can’t be a hard yes, because I’m not great with Persona lore, but I’d say it’s likely! It would explain a few inconsistencies, namely:
1. The fact that Maruki has a Palace despite having a Persona. A Persona user could technically develop a Palace or have a Shadow if their Persona reverted to that state, but clearly he can have both at the same time for some reason. However, if we assume that Azathoth and Adam Kadmon aren’t Maruki’s Personas, then the only question left unanswered is what happened to his shadow, and even then we can just assume that Azathoth or even Maruki himself disposed of it for some reason.
2. Maruki’s awakening. Again, Persona users can technically summon their Personas in the real world, even without Evokers, but from what I remember it takes a lot of effort? Akihiko said he was training for it in the Arena games, I think. So it seems weird to me that a newbie who doesn’t even know about Personas would be able to awaken to his in the real world without any practice. Of course, it’s possible, especially since he has such strength of will, but the chances seem pretty low. Plus, there’s the fact that he didn’t fully summon him like people normally would when awakening to a Persona (Haru being an exception), but Azathoth seemed to be using his powers just fine even if he didn’t materialize.
3. This point is really subjective, but it feels like there’s a strange degree separation between Azathoth and Maruki. Like with Azathoth’s insistence that Maruki should “seek him” or the fact that Maruki didn’t even know what Azathoth was doing to Rumi when he asked him for help. I dunno, like I said, this is pretty subjective, but if Personas are supposed to be a manifestation of their users’ inner self (“I am thou, thou art I”), then why does it feel like there’s this weird disconnect between Maruki and Azathoth? And this applies to Adam Kadmon too. I mean, I don’t know about you, but  “use me” seems like a very weird thing to say to the personification of your sense of self. Though maybe that’s just because Maruki is a weird person.
4. This point is really, really small and might not even be worth mentioning, but there’s a line that bothers me, and not in the negative sense of the word, but in the “that has to mean something” sense of the word. And that’s the line where Maruki goes “And I believe you called forth your power like this: Persona.” which is pretty cool, of course, but it makes it sound like he’s saying it only because he heard the Phantom Thieves saying it first. I dunno, it just makes me wonder... It seemed like every other Persona user instinctively knew what their power was called as soon as they awakened, so why would Maruki word it like that, as if he were just imitating the PTs? Of course, this might just be me fixating on a line of dialogue that’s just there for cool points and doesn’t mean anything, but I can’t help but think about the possibility.
So yeah, I personally love that theory because it explains all of these little things that I otherwise wouldn’t be able to stop think about, haha. Besides, it’s simply an interesting way to look at the situation.
Generally speaking, though, I’d say it really is up to interpretation. The only point that can’t be explained if Azathoth and Adam Kadmon really are his Personas is the one about Maruki having a Palace and a Persona at the same time (after all, if a Persona user’s distortion were strong enough to generate a Palace, logic dictates that the Persona would turn back into a Shadow, right?), but everything else can be explained away through other means, so that’s why I’m not willing to say with full certainty that this theory is correct.
