The Supreme Court is allowing Idaho to enforce its ban on gender-affirming care for transgender youth while lawsuits over the law proceed, reversing lower courts. The justices’ order Monday allows the state to put in a place a 2023 law that subjects physicians to up to 10 years in prison if they provide hormones, puberty blockers or other gender-affirming care to people under age 18. Under the court’s order, the two transgender teens who sued to challenge the law still will be able to obtain care
Idaho Attorney General Raúl Labrador said in a statement that the law “ensures children are not subjected to these life-altering drugs and procedures. Those suffering from gender dysphoria deserve love, support, and medical care rooted in biological reality. Denying the basic truth that boys and girls are biologically different hurts our kids.” Gender-affirming care for youth is supported by every major medical organization, including the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Psychiatric Association.

The Letter
the Attorneys General, all Republican are
Todd Rokita of Indiana
Tim Griffin of Arkansas
Raúl Labrador of Idaho
Daniel Cameron of Kentucky
Lynn Fitch of Mississippi
Andrew Bailey of Missouri
Alan Wilson of South Carolina
just so we're clear, Republicans in 2023 think Queer people being alive in public is a "threat" to children, anything with a rainbow, anything that says "gay" or "trans" or anything, ANYTHING! something as blandly family friendly as Target must be crushed by any means.
so if you're American, and queer or care about human rights, don't vote for these people.

"To recap: The Attorney General of Idaho—a state that has lost nearly 25% of its OBGYNs, three maternity wards and counting—finds it annoying and “shameful” that a female Supreme Court justice might be worried about women dying. He doesn’t like that she’s “aggressive” and “relentless” about it.
I don’t know about you, but when someone is fighting for my life and humanity, I’d like them to be as aggressive and relentless as possible. Even if it means making a sexist Republican attorney general uncomfortable."
I live in Idaho, so I'm aware of AG Labrador. A man so odious that he gives toads like Jim Risch and Larry Craig.
An embarrassment.

SCOTUS Allows Idaho To Implement Ban On 'Gender-Affirming Care' For Transgender Youth
Tumblr media
The attorney general of Idaho has requested that the Supreme Court lift a temporary injunction issued by a lower court that was blocking the state from enforcing its felony ban on “gender-affirming care” for adolescents.
“Gender-affirming care” includes medical, pharmaceutical, and surgical services, like hormones and gender reassignment surgery for those with gender dysphoria who wish to have an outward appearance that more closely reflects how they feel inside.
While lawsuits regarding the statute are pending, the Supreme Court overturned lower courts and permitted Idaho to implement its restriction on gender care for transgender youth on Monday.
The justices approved Attorney General Raúl Labrador’s (R-Idaho) request to limit the scope of a December district court order that had blocked the state’s prohibition.
Idaho may implement a 2023 legislation that carries a maximum 10-year prison sentence for doctors who give hormone therapies, puberty blockers, or other “gender-affirming” treatments to patients younger than 18. This is made possible by the justices’ order on Monday.
The Vulnerable Child Protection Act of Idaho was blocked by U.S. District Judge B. Lynn Winmill in December. According to him, “gender-affirming” healthcare “is safe, effective, and medically necessary for some adolescents,” provided that it is delivered in compliance with standards established by groups like the Endocrine Society and the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH).
In January, Labrador filed an appeal against Winmill’s ruling, however, it was rejected in a single sentence by a three-judge panel of the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. Labrador’s second appeal was refused by the same three-judge bench for the whole 9th Circuit to reestablish the injunction.
Labrador argued that lower courts cannot stop states from enforcing laws against those who are not directly involved in litigation, and he asked the Supreme Court to take emergency action in February to allow Idaho to do so.
On Monday, the Supreme Court declared its agreement.
“Ordinarily, injunctions like these may go no further than necessary to provide interim relief to the parties. In this case, however, the district court went much further, prohibiting a State from enforcing any aspect of its duly enacted law against anyone,” Justice Neil Gorsuch wrote on Monday.
The court’s three liberal justices disagreed with the decision, asserting that the legislation should have remained blocked completely.
In an emailed statement, Labrador did not directly reply to Monday’s decision, however, he stated that Idaho “has a duty to protect and support all children.”
“I’ve witnessed firsthand the devastating consequences of drugs and procedures used on children with gender dysphoria,” he stated. “And it’s a preventable tragedy.”
The plaintiffs’ legal representatives, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and the ACLU of Idaho, referred to Monday’s decision as “an awful result for transgender youth and their families across the state.”
“Today’s ruling allows the state to shut down the care that thousands of families rely on while sowing further confusion and disruption,” the groups explained in a statement. “Nonetheless, today’s result only leaves us all the more determined to defeat this law in the courts entirely, making Idaho a safer state to raise every family.”
Providing “gender-affirming” medical care to minors is now considered a felony in Idaho, making it the second state after Alabama to do so. The offense carries a maximum 10-year prison sentence and a $5,000 fine.

Just to reiterate:
Attorneys general around the country, like Idaho’s Raúl Labrador, who proclaimed that women forced to carry dangerous, nonviable pregnancies merely
“disagree with the legitimate policy choices made by the Idaho legislature.”
What is happening in a woman's uterus is NOT the business of 'policy choices' made by legislators ...
ESPECIALLY when that woman might be f*cking dying due to her pregnancy!
Where is the human concern for an adult woman in danger of losing her life?
What is the matter with you Republicans?
You're all monsters.

By Brendan Pierson(Reuters) - Idaho can fully enforce its near-total abortion ban after a U.S. appeals court lifted a lower court order that had partially blocked it.A unanimous panel of the San Francisco-based 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled Thursday that the state ban on abortion, which includes a narrow exception for abortions that are necessary to prevent the mother's death, does not conflict with a federal law on emergency care. The panel put on hold a lower court judge's order blocking the ban in cases where a doctor deems an abortion necessary to prevent serious jeopardy to the mother's health. The ruling allows Idaho's ban to take effect while the panel more fully considers an appeal by the state. All three judges on the panel were appointed by Republican former president Donald Trump.Idaho Attorney General Raúl Labrador said in a statement that his office had worked to "ensure Idaho's sensible law continues to save the lives of babies and provides medical professionals with the ability to exercise their judgment to assist women who need emergency care," and was "encouraged" by the ruling.A spokesperson for the U.S. Department of Justice, which sued Idaho last year over its law, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.Idaho in 2020 passed a so-called "trigger" law that would ban abortion if the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, the landmark decision that had established a right to abortion nationwide. It overturned Roe last June.Democratic President Joe Biden's administration sued Idaho in August, saying the state ban conflicted with the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA), a federal law requiring hospitals to "stabilize" patients with emergency medical conditions. The administration said that could potentially require abortions that would not be included under Idaho's narrow exception for saving the mother's life. U.S. District Judge James Wesley Hendrix agreed, blocking the law from being enforced in cases of abortions needed to avoid putting the patient's health in "serious jeopardy" or risking "serious impairment to bodily functions."But Circuit Judge Lawrence VanDyke wrote for the panel Thursday that there was no conflict because EMTALA "does not set standards of care or specifically mandate that certain procedures, such as abortion, be offered."He also said that any conflict had been eliminated since Hendrix's decision because the state legislature had passed an amendment clarifying the law, and the state's Supreme Court had clarified that the exception applies when a doctor believes, in good faith, that an abortion is necessary to save the mother's life.(Reporting By Brendan Pierson in New York, Editing by Alexia Garamfalvi and David Gregorio)

Idaho Attorney General - 23 States - America's 2nd Amendment
Tumblr media
Idaho Attorney General Labrador Leads 23 States Fighting for America’s 2nd Amendment. Boise, ID (STL.News) Idaho Attorney General Raúl Labrador has filed an amicus brief leading 23 states in Barnett v. Raoul challenging Illinois’s unconstitutional semiautomatic weapons ban. On January 10, 2023, Illinois enacted HB 5471, the “Protect Illinois Communities Act.” HB 5471 bans nearly every modern semiautomatic rifle, the most popular type of rifle in the United States.  The law also bans certain “semiautomatic pistols” that are commonly used weapons for self-defense.  Furthermore, HB 5471 prohibits all ammunition-feeding devices capable of holding more than ten rounds of ammunition for long guns and 15 rounds for handguns.  The law disregards the millions of law-abiding Americans who own firearms that use such magazines. Attorney General Labrador opposes this unconstitutional law, which violates the text and history of the Second Amendment.  Recent Supreme Court precedents such as Bruen (2022), Heller (2008), and Caetano (2016) affirm the right of Americans to possess and use bearable arms, like the ones Illinois has banned, especially when such arms are in common use. “The founders didn’t carve out Second Amendment exemptions for states.  Illinois is trying to set an unconstitutional precedent, of an unconstitutional law, that will ultimately impact Idahoans in the future.  I will always fight to defend Idahoan’s rights wherever they are being infringed.” Attorney General Labrador said. This case seeks declaratory and injunctive relief to prevent Illinois from enforcing HB 5471. Attorney General Labrador’s actions demonstrate his commitment to upholding Constitutional rights and liberties.  General Labrador will not stand idly by and watch Illinois chip away at the scope of the Second Amendment and work to establish a harmful precedent.  Today’s actions should send a strong message to rogue states.  No state has the right to take constitutional rights from any American, and any attempt will be met with legal action from Attorney General Labrador. DATA LIMITATIONS
The analysis using formulas is only as accurate as the data entered into the system. Even one letter or variations in name spellings will cause inaccuracies with the analysis.
I do not sort by the office each candidate is running for. All money collected for the candidate in the time period is totaled.
“Self-Funding” is difficult to categorize as my formula only accommodates for when individuals donate using their exact names. For example, “Art” and “Arthur” will be seen as different individuals. If the characters differ by even a typo or letter, it will not be picked up. Also, companies explicitly in support of a candidate or funded by the candidate are not categorized.
Addresses not recognized by Google Maps will not show accurately on the Heat Map.
The Heat Map sometimes has different scales, such as for Governor Little which goes up to $20,000 versus others which may only go up to $10,000.
In-State versus Out-of-State donors can easily appear in-state by simply having an address located in Idaho.
METHODOLOGY
The CSV file covering January 1, 2020 – April 28, 2022 contributions was downloaded from the https://sunshine.sos.idaho.gov website and subsequently uploaded to https://datastudio.google.com/. These are free services and there are numerous tutorials online to walk you through the process.
For the data field, “From – Type (ID or NOT ID)”, I combined multiple fields using the following formula:
CASE
WHEN From - Name = To - Name THEN "Self-Funding"
WHEN From - Type = "Individual" and From - State = "ID" THEN "Individual (ID)"
WHEN From - Type = "Individual" and From - State != "ID" THEN "Individual (Not ID)"
WHEN From - Type = "Company" and From - State = "ID" THEN "Company (ID)"
WHEN From - Type = "Company" and From - State != "ID" THEN "Company (Not ID)"
    ELSE "Unfiled"
END
For the data field, “From – Address, Full”, I used the following formula:
CONCAT(From - Address,", " ,From - City, ", ", From - State, From - Zip)
FURTHER CONSIDERATION
Should this information be considered useful, I can take a deeper look into the various Political Action Committees that operate in Idaho without an explicit political party affiliation and ambiguous organization name.
Below is a graph of some potential PACs that deserve further analysis. For further questions or comments, you can reach me at [email protected]
