You people my head is still stuck in the 10 hour deadline.

Only 10 hours!!??, we all know this series works in periods of 12 hours, we are not told how long hades is reviving the generals, but is not an unfair asumption that it will be for 12 hours.

So what's gonna happen in the last 2 hours!? I refuse to think they will just sit around waiting for 2 hours to pass saying goodbyes, I wouldn't be opposed to that, but c'mon, this is saint seiya, surely something epic will happen.

I can't wait to discover what.

At last I have gotten around to updating my shop with original art - that is, physical drawings and paintings 🙌

This first batch 1 up has lots of tribute/fanart, including several Repostober features I featured already. A large number of Yu Yu Hakusho, of course, but also some Star Ocean, Saint Seiya and Drakengard 2. And several original subjects! Some pieces even have bonus art or sketches/doodles on the back 😆 This is noted in the description and there are photos!

Batch 2 will be mostly original subject matter. I'm aiming to have that up later this month... is what I was thinking, but I may also add them here and there over the course of the next couple of days. It does seem to be a lot easier to do that every so often now that I have the first bundle up than to amass another giant wave.

As I note in the description on each listing, because these are the original drawings (not prints), they can't be replaced. Thus, the shipping method shown includes tracking. If you purchase several pieces, the additional shipping will generally be super minimal because these are flat sheets of paper! (Do note - the shikishi boards, like the ones in the first photo above with the yamadori, are flat, but rigid. They can't be rolled up so if you pick one of them plus a big piece that needs to be in a tube. The materials are all clearly labelled in the descriptions.)

Description: Autumn is coming, and with it, spookiness is rising. Imagine your favourite Saint Seiya characters in autumn-themed scenes from around the world!

Participation: You will submit one (1) original, new fanwork (older/already published work is not accepted) to be compiled into a zine. Please do not share your final work until the zine has been properly published by SSZ (you may, however, share WIPs, previews, and/or close-ups as you work on it)

Type: The final compilation of all fanworks will be a free, digital PDF file (no physical versions will be made, no money will be earned or paid)

Character: restricted to one (1) character to be the main focus of the fanwork submitted (for fics: 1-2 characters)

The Taken Character List will be updated daily at 19:00 UTC -6 (Costa Rica time) until the sign-up period is concluded. We appreciate your patience while this occurs. Once you are added to the list and your character is confirmed, you may start working on your submission.

May I draw whichever character I want? As the purpose of this zine is to include as many characters from the Saint Seiya universe as possible to bring variety into the final product, submission types have the following limitations:

Fanarts: 1 main character per submission (restricted ✪)

Fics: focus on 1-2 main characters per submission (not restricted)

Cosplays: 1 main character per submission (not restricted)

Merch Photographs: 1 main character per submission (not restricted)

Before filling out the sign-up form, check the Taken Character list. For fanarts, you'll input 5 different options, from your top choice to least. Your final selection will be made visible later that day. This is on a First Come, First Served basis.

✪ This means there will be only 1 fanart per character, no duplicates

May I include more than one character in my submission? Yes, as long as there is a clear hierarchy where your chosen character is the main focus. Original Characters (OCs) may also be included in the background as long as they follow this guideline. There is no problem if those secondary characters are already taken, or if the mix of characters would not make sense in the official material (for example, Sasha interacting with Hilda).

May I use spinoff characters? Sure! All characters officially included in the Saint Seiya universe are applicable (except those without an official visual design, like Chronos). Please note that even though there are characters with different versions across the franchise [ex: Aiolia], they are not counted as different options for the Zine, so if said character is already taken, no other version of them will be available. The only exceptions to this rule are Milo (Legend of Sanctuary) and Shaun (Knights of the Zodiac).

I changed my mind about the character I chose, and the new one is still available. Can I switch? To prevent confusion and misunderstandings, all character selections are final and cannot be changed/traded.

Can I switch from one contribution type to another (e.g., fanart to fic) after I signed up? To prevent confusion and misunderstandings, all contribution type selections are final.

Am I allowed to change certain aspects of a character’s official design? It depends on the aspect, and should be reviewed case-by-case.

Example 1: as a Latin American, Io could differ in skin tone to the one seen on the official materials. However, characters like Hagen and Aldebaran, who have darker skin tones, should not be given lighter tones.

Example 2: if due to a personal headcanon, you believe a character has a certain scar or marking that is not seen in official materials, it can be included, but once again, please reach out to Staff for a case-by-case review.

What qualifies as "autumn-themed"? This season is experienced differently all around the world, which is why the theme is broad on purpose. Any activity, scenery, meal, clothing, and celebration that is typical of this season is applicable. That includes (but is not limited to) All Hallow's Eve, Día de Muertos, Thanksgiving, Diwali, leaf color change viewing, and more.

What is the difference between an Alternate Universe [AU] and a Crossover? Some AU use popular tropes as a base, while a Crossover uses an already existing material as base.

Examples:

Popular tropes for an AU: magic school, space fantasy/sci-fi

Existing material: Twisted Wonderland, Mass Effect [games], Little Witch Academia, Star Trek [series], Heralds of Valdemar, Dune [books]

So making a fanwork of the general "Saint Seiya × Magic School" or “Saint Seiya x space fantasy/sci-fi” concepts is an AU, but "Saint Seiya × Twisted Wonderland" or “Saint Seiya x Star Trek” are considered a crossover. In essence, heavy references to other existing fandoms are not allowed. Could you please elaborate on what is/isn’t considered Not Safe For Work (NSFW)? If it is not appropriate for a general, non-specialized office work environment, then it is not accepted.

Examples: ✅ blood depictions/mentions of it ❌ graphic/detailed gore, mutilation, or body horror ✅ sensual themes (e.g., pin up) ❌ sexual themes (including, but not limited to: genitalia, specifically erotic gestures like blowjob, etc.)

May I submit more than one work? If, after the sign-up period is over, you would like to collaborate with a second submission, reach out to us. You may send different submission types if you want (e.g., 1 fanart and 1 fic). Please bear in mind the second character must still be available for you to take.

The sign-up timeframe already passed. Can I still join? The extraordinary period is 16-23/Aug. Please check the Taken Character List first to ensure the one you want is available, fill out the form, and contact staff (El Cadejos, Zeuse) so we can add you to the list. After this extraordinary period, sign-up will be officially closed.

May I include a watermark on my submission? Yes, we encourage you to submit already watermarked fanworks to the zine.

I’m a writer! What is an acceptable image for the credits page? You can send an official StS work, fanarts (as long as it is made by you, gifted to you, or commissioned by you), or a picrew-generated image (as long as the picrew allows that use)

What are check-ins? Do I need to send something? Nope. Our check-ins act as reminders only, so you know exactly how much time you have left to send your submission.

Knight of Beauty : Pisces Albafica " Bloody Rose "

OOC : Some ideas I've been brainstorming during the day and I wanted to share / get some feedback on before heading off to bed .

Origins :

( A lot of this I'm just spit ballin' but also using some of Albafica's canon from Saint Seiya the Lost Canvas )

As a means of countering The Swarm , and Tayzzyronth . The Knights of Beauty cultivated the idea of creating a botanical poison so powerful that any of the Swarm's legion that came into contact with it would die from it almost instantly .

Following Idrila's philosophy of beauty , a single knight was chosen to carry said poison within them . Specifically within their bloodstream , as a means of ensuring the poison , which ended up being successful could not be used in ways not originally intended since it always resided within just one Knight .

Less of a risk as this would be after the IPC's genocidal test of the Imaginary impulse Bomb .

Due to the nature of the poison , this meant that the Knight in question would also be essentially sacrificing themselves for the good of all others as they needed to totally self isolate to prevent any innocents from falling ill to it .

They needed to be someone whose heart was " pure " in that they'd be willing to make such a " beautiful " sacrifice .

Albafica was found as an infant laying among the fields of poison's roses . Assumed dead at first but mysteriously showing immunity to the roses's deadly scent . Considered to be a divine sign from Idrila that he was to be the next one to carry the mantle of Bloody Rose .

He was adopted, and raised by the former Bloody Rose Knight , Lugonis .

Albafica was brought up on the teachings of Idrila by his master , and underwent the " Red Ribbon Ceremony " in which the poison in Albafica's blood was strengthened by coming into contact with Lugonis's . They each exchange one drop of blood with the other in the form of a small cut , until eventually the poison in Albafica's blood overwhelmed Lugonis's .

Personality & Beliefs :

Albafica follows Idrila's path , but resents that his mentor whom he viewed as his father , had to die in order to see the mantle passed down to him .

( To make the use of icons easier ) Wears his former teacher's set of fully body Golden Armor meant to completely cover his body as a safeguard for anyone around him .

Actively traverses the Universe of Star Rail . Seeking out the Swarm in particular , and may travel with other Knights such as Argenti from time to time .

Hates being called beautiful as he views his roses , and himself by extension general as a weapon of Idrila . Meant to kill , not to be admired . Reluctant to allow anyone to touch him out of fear of accidentally poisoning them through physical contact which his master always stressed to him was crucial .

Abilities :

Can make use of , and summon a variety of plants that all carry his poisonous blood with them to use as living weapons .

If wounded , can convert his blood into an aerosol gas , or converted them into needles that can be directly injected into the opponent .

His poison can have a wide array of effects due to it's potency , but the main aspect is his victim losing all five of their senses , and dying shortly afterwards .

Can conjure a variety of roses that can serve different purposes in combat .

Watching the original Saint Seiya anime (with next to zero general knowledge of the lore but knowing a lot of too specific spoilers because of parodies) and it's both super entertaining and bafflingly illogical so far.

Like, Cygnus Hyoga picks up the Cygnus armor the day he enters the Galactic Tournament. His armor is one of the best around because it was tempered by ice after being frozen in a 15 million year old iceberg. So... there was no Cygnus Saint for the last 15 million years, right? There are only 87 Saints typically and not 88, right?? Why was Cygnus expected to be at the tournament anyway, when nobody should have any reason to think the armor would pick a Saint??? As it can't have done so in the last 15 million years?!?!!

AND WHY. WOULD YOU ORGANIZE A TOURNAMENT TO REUNITE THE BRONZE SAINTS. IN WHICH. THEY ARE NOT ONLY ALLOWED TO KILL. EACH OTHER. BUT ALSO. TO DETROY. EACH OTHER'S ARMORS. (and it's apparently very difficult to repair them)

WHY WOULD YOU DO SOMETHING SO COUNTERPRODUCTIVE AND END UP WITH FEWER SAINTS THAN THE MAGIC 88. WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY (especially when a future plot point is that you created saints knockoffs because there wouldn't be enough of them mitsumasa you motherfcker)

- 3rd person, with a preference for multiple paragraphs replies. It's not novella style, but I won't do one-liners.

- I'm looking for long-term partners, I love plotting out extensive threads and AUs or verses.

- I want our RPs to be pretty chill, I'm not a particularly fast-replier. So, my partner shouldn't rush into replies.

[About the Zine]

Description: Among the Saint Seiya factions, Asgard/Bluegraad and Atlantis are often side-lined, so this is SSZ's homage to them. Let’s explore these together!

Participation: You will submit one (1) original, new fanwork (older/already published work is not accepted) to be compiled into a zine. Please do not share your final work until the zine has been properly published by SSZ (you may, however, share WIPs, previews, and/or close-ups as you work on it)

Type: The final compilation of all fanworks will be a free, digital PDF file (no physical versions will be made, no money will be earned or paid)

Character: restricted to one (1) main character per submission for art (other submission types are not restricted). The max. amount of fanarts per applicable character is two (2). Check the Reference list to see who is still available.

The Character Confirmation list will be updated daily at 7 PM (Costa Rica time) until the sign-up period is concluded. We appreciate your patience while this occurs. Once you are added to the list and your character is confirmed, you may start working on your submission.

** Please note this zine does not review/approve/reject sign-ups, everyone is welcome to take part in the activity as long as they sign-up. If there are any issues, we'll get back to you.

Submission: Send via email to [email protected]. The email subject should be "Asgard & Atlantis Zine, [Creator], [character/fic name]", and the file name should be:

[Frequently Asked Questions]

May I draw whichever character I want? The purpose of this zine is to focus on Asgard/Bluegraad and Atlantis, so only characters that belong to these settings are allowed. There are more applicable characters than you think! Take a look here!

May I submit more than one work? Yes, you can participate with a maximum of two (2) fanworks of different characters, but we’ll confirm case-by-case after the sign-up period is over.

May I include other characters in my submission? Yes, as long as they belong to Asgard/Bluegraad/Atlantis and there is a clear hierarchy where your chosen character is the main focus. Original Characters (OCs) may also be included as long as they follow this guideline. There is no problem if those secondary characters are already taken, or if the mix of characters would not make sense in the official material (for example, Alexer interacting with Hilda).

Which Original Characters (OCs) are applicable? If you have an OC that is a Marina, a God Warrior, an Asgardian/Bluegraadian (in general), or serves under Poseidon (in general), they are welcomed in the zine. However, Saints, Specters, or members of any other factions in Saint Seiya cannot be included.

Saga, Hyoga, Aiolia and Camus can be referred to, but not appear in the fanwork. For example: ✅ Isaak looking at a picture of Camus / Isaak remembering a conversation with Camus ❌ Isaak and Hyoga during training with Camus / Isaak talking to Camus

The sign-up timeframe already passed. Can I still join? The extraordinary period is 19-25/Jan. Please check the Reference list first to ensure the one you want is available, fill out the form, and contact staff (El Cadejos, Zeuse) so we can add you to the list. After this extraordinary period, sign-up will be officially closed.

May I use spinoff characters? Sure! All characters officially included in the Saint Seiya universe for Asgard/Bluegraad and Atlantis (refer to list previously provided) are applicable (except those without an official visual design, like Odin). Please note that even though there are characters with different versions across the franchise (ex: Isaak), they are not counted as different options for the Zine, so if said character is already taken, no other version of them will be available.

I changed my mind about the character I chose, and the new one is still available. Can I switch? To prevent confusion and misunderstandings, all character selections are final and cannot be changed/traded.

Am I allowed to change certain aspects of a character’s official design? It depends on the aspect, and should be reviewed case-by-case.

Example 1: as a Latin American, Io could differ in skin tone to the one seen on the official materials. However, characters like Hagen and Krishna, who have darker skin tones, should not be given lighter tones.

Example 2: if due to a personal headcanon, you believe a character has a certain scar or marking that is not seen in official materials, it can be included, but once again, please reach out to Staff for a case-by-case review.

I’m a writer! What is an acceptable image for the credits page? You can send an official StS work, fanarts (as long as it is made by you, gifted to you, or commissioned by you), or a picrew-generated image (as long as the picrew allows that use)

May I include a watermark on my submission? Yes, we encourage you to submit already watermarked fanworks to the zine, but it is not mandatory.

Do I have to send something for the check-ins? Nope. Our check-ins act as reminders only so you know exactly how much time you have left to send your submission.

Night at The Museum (Sundove88’s Version) Casting

This is a Birthday present for @thehyperrequiem! Happy B Day!

Dreamer Joe Puddy thinks he's destined for something big but his imaginative ideas never pay off and in desperate need of a job, he accepts to be a security guard at the Natural History Museum. During his watch, Joe makes a startling discovery. Thanks to the unleashing of an Egyptian curse, the museum's characters spring to life after the building closes. Joe must find a way to save the chaotic situation.

Once the night guard at the Museum of Natural History, Joe Puddy is now a successful purveyor of infomercial products. Soon after learning that his museum friends have been shipped to the Smithsonian Institution, Joe receives a distress call from Arthur Morgan, who warns him that four of history's greatest villains have come to life and are planning to take over the Smithsonian first, then the world. Joe joins forces with friends old and new to stop the quartet's nefarious plans.

When the exhibits at New York's Natural History Museum start behaving strangely, Joe Puddy -- now the director of nighttime operations -- must find out the cause. He learns that the Tablet, which magically brings Speedwagon, Arthur Morgan, and the other exhibits to life at night, has started to decay. Joe, along with his son and museum friends, must travel to London's British Museum to learn how to prevent the Tablet's magic from disappearing.
