We are getting playable Cuttlefish in Splatoon 3.

i dont like saying im totally certain about predictions, but the evidence is so subtle, yet so very intentional in the exact way that the splatoon team would do if they were trying to hint at something. (under the cut because long post)

I’m sure some of you have seen PandaUniverse’s tweet introducing the cuttlefish evidence. first two images are from that tweet, putting it out there that i cant take credit for those.

exhibit A: train station gates

the splatoon team foreshadowed OE before release with a blocked off train station in inkopolis square....this seems even more obvious? no entry for squids, mysterious 2 finned squid thing can enter? exhibit B: weird hat

again, two finned squid thingy like in the ticket gates. i saw some ppl saying “its just a weird octopus” but like. why would the splatoon team purposely model an octopus hat super weirdly? also @sprousprou sent me a better image:

that is not an octopus lol After i saw the tweet, i remembered a thing that me and my friend dodo were scratching our heads at a few months ago while we were reconning all the s3 stages for details, because... Exhibit C: that’s a fucking cuttlefish

again, 2 fins. found in Mincemeat Metalworks, it’s in the same style as the Angry Squid and Angry Octopus graffiti that’s been seen before.

So how do I feel about this? well... not even a month ago i thought it would be weird to expect a new playable species, but the evidence feels so undeniable now. but i also mentioned in that ask, cuttlefish are pretty much the only species that would make sense with current lore. being ink-producing cephalopods in real life, unlike nautiluses or dumbo octopuses, i would expect cuttlefish to be ink-based shapeshifters like the inklings and octolings. and we have seen cuttlefish in splatoon’s canon before... albeit only once in the japan-only octo expansion artbook....and they look a lot like inklings. However i find it a bit... weird... that they’d be introduced like this with next to zero build up, unlike the playable octolings which were hinted at from the first game. i’m also deeply concerned about the idea of this truly becoming a pattern, like the splatoon team potentially introducing a new species in each DLC, leaning on "play as this New Guy” as the main selling point and not “play this cool story.” I also would prefer if they just expanded on customization for octolings and inklings and not added a new species. but i guess it’s splatoon 3, gotta have 3 species too. and ill take it any day over salmonlings also in the aforementioned ask, the only justification i could think of for a sudden introduction of cuttlefish would be that they happen to live super far away outside of inkadia/splatlands. combine that with the knowledge that the DLC is more than likely going to be a world tour of some kind...well, that’s probably gonna be the reason for their introduction: they just live far away. tl;dr im feeling 100% sure cuttlefish are coming to splatoon whether we like it or not

I usually don't make comments about events/projects made by the streaming community, but I can't help myself to make a special recognition to Quackity.

I've known him for a few months due to some funny clips from his Spanish streams that they upload in different social media and, as a first impression, I thought he was a really charismatic and humble young man.

Some time later, I was really surprised to found out he was involved in the DSMP, which I didn't really know what it is about since I'm not from the Anglosphere, however I was aware it was a really popular Minecraft series (at least really trendy here).

Personally, what I think is really admirable from him, besides the fact he creates content for both his English and Spanish audience, is that he became a bridge between English youtubers (mostly his friends from DSMP) and Spanish/Latino streamers, which is really a huge thing taking into account that Spanish streamers and Latino streamers don't get together often, or at least in all the years I've been part of the audience of both communities.

What Quackity is doing with his new project is really innovative and very important in the aspect of establishing an instance where all this amazing content creators from different communities can get together and produce even greater content, regardless of the barrier of language. Taking as an example the Squid Craft Games 2, we caught a glance of wholesome and funny interactions between streamers that don't share the same language, but show the same interest they have for eachother. Unfortunately, we didn't get to explore more of these interactions because of the game's dynamic (yes, they all died in the game except for the winner sapnap), but the QSMP will be a space to explore these new friendships.

I hope Quackity receives lots of support from his audience and the audiences from other streamers/youtubers. It's really refreshing to see my fellow Spanish/Latino community get invested in english speaking youtubers, even thought most of us struggle a bit with understanding the language but there are really nice account that helps with translating most of the stream or key moments from it, which we are willing to do too. That's another thing, just as it's an opportunity for the streamers, it is as well for their audience :]

Partially because I remember Oddworld and Abe's Odyssee for the PS1. My cousin was the one with the Playstation, and he didn't like the game, but I remember poring over the manual and delighting in the concepts and the art. A dystopian game where a low level employee at a meat packing plant fights a corporate empire and becomes a reluctant Chosen One? Yes please!

The sligs are the main grunt force of said corporate empire, the Magog Cartel. Imagine if koopas carried shotguns. Apparently a slig slave revolt is a plot point in one of the later games. Good for them. If you're super worried about game balance, this is another monster, like the watchuka, that has a lot of treasure for its CR because guns and other ranged weapons are very expensive in Pathfinder 1e.]

Slig CR 4 NE Aberration This green skinned creature has a squid-like head with five finger-like feelers surrounding its mouth. It has large muscular arms and metal legs. It wears a set of red-tinted goggles and carries a large gun.

Sligs are eusocial mollusk-like creatures native to the swamps of the planet Mudos. They are most commonly found elsewhere as grunts, soldiers and assassins, as their queens have gladly sold the entire species to the Magog Cartel, a massive industrial empire. In exchange for unquestioning service, the Cartel provides sligs with greater mobility. A slig is born with strong forelimbs and stunted hind limbs, perfectly serviceable for pulling themselves between bodies of water, but good for little else. A slig in slig pants, however, can walk, jump and use its arms for carrying weapons; typically guns. Sligs love guns. Most sligs also wear goggles on a regular basis, both to protect their eyes (they are naturally nocturnal and live in foggy swamps) and because higher ups in the Magog Cartel find their beady eyes aesthetically displeasing.

Few sligs are very bright, but most of them are very cruel. Unlike many other eusocial sapient species but more similar to bumblebees and paper wasps, there is frequent infighting among sligs as they jockey for rank. The Cartel has managed to channel that into organized contests like kill counts, employee of the month bonuses and frequent games. Another privilege is the use of names—all sligs have a name, but using it publicly instead of a number and rank has to be earned by service to the Cartel. Sligs off duty are often found playing card games or sports, and those not playing are usually betting their spare income on such matches.

A slig stands about five feet tall. They are short lived, and considered adults by 2 years and ancient by 20.

Variant Sligs Sligs are naturally morphologically plastic, as they respond quickly to changes in hormone levels. In addition, different sligs may have different abilities due to different equipment and cybernetics bestowed on them by the Magog Cartel. For example, Big Bro sligs are Large sligs who have to be equipped with special four-legged slig pants to support their weight, and are often given automatic weapons. Some sligs are given flying harnesses instead of pants—they have a fly speed of 40 feet (perfect), but no land speed. Other sligs, especially with class levels, may be equipped with heavier armor, flamethrowers, or rocket launchers.

Hey guys, still not dead yet. I wish I had more to talk about more often so the few posts I do on here aren't just shit to prove I still have a pulse, but the simple truth of the matter is that there's usually not much of anything to really talk about on my end.

But right now, there is!

There's a couple things - first, we're about a month out from the one-year anniversary of Act I's final chapter being published, which is very bizarre to think about because time is moving quicker than I can acknowledge and that just makes me vehemently aware of how long folks have waited for anything regarding Act II. And I know y'all are patient, and I know I shouldn't feel bad about actual real life shit that matters more than funny squid video game fanfiction taking precedence over said funny squid video game fanfiction (😱 no way) BUT I feel bad anyways. On the bright side, in the time between then and now, I feel as though my writing has improved dramatically thanks to the effective training courses that have been the shit I've written for the tabletop I'm running. I also may have discovered a latent passion for acting, as I genuinely brought myself to tears while voicing an NPC's emotional breakdown? I never even did theater in school, I just got so caught up in the moment that I felt it.

All of that said though, I think I'm almost at a point where I can start working on Act II once again!

Writing a fanfiction series and running a very plot-heavy tabletop game at the same time is not a combination I'd recommend. Like I said in my last post back in mid-January, it's definitely been a contributing factor to the delay (while certainly not the main one), but also like I said in that post, we're wrapping it up soon. The current projected end date is somewhere in early March, but it might be closer to late March/early April depending on the pace my players go at. So before I get myself caught too deep in planning the next game I run for those goobers, I wanna step back from that for a hot minute and kick this series back into gear - if not for you guys, then for my own sanity's sake.

Does that mean for certain Act II will be finished soon? I dunno. There's a non-zero chance that I might scrap what I've got so far and just start with a blank page once again, but at least that would mean there's progress actually happening.

Anyways... yeah, that's about it. Definitely nothing else worth talking about in regards to Splatoon in the month of February in the year 2024. Nope. Certainly not.

Well we've come this far,

I remember when splatoon 1 came out, I wanted it so bad but I couldn't have it cus we didn't owe a wiiU (I was so confused back in the day about the wiiU that I thought splatoon was ON the wii lol). During this time is when I would looked up videos and art on Google and YouTube, this is what kicked started my love for spyke, which I fell in love with.

I remember splatoon 2 well as well, marina was my favorite idol, and spyke was here again (tho you couldn't talk to him). I remember how I would try doodling myself as a inkling in class, and one of my friends telling me about the game since they had a switch.

A couple of months before splatoon 3 came out, I had some money laying around and decided to buy splatoon 2 (tho I should have keeped it for splatoon 3). I didn't play multi-player as I didn't have online (and I got scared ), I made to throw single player a bit, but I finally beat it a month or so before I got splatoon 3 (evey time I'd log in, I'd squid flop in front of spyke's window for motivation)

I got splatoon 3 on Christmas from my dad, and I payed for online and the dlc by the end of the day, and I love it, I love that every one grows up

I'll be making a drawing soon (probably by the end of the week)

THE PREGNANCY HEADCANONS AHHHH I LOVED THEM!! They were soo good babes like you really know how to write for the boys 😭 also loved the jk kink slip in lol 🤭

But since we’re on the topic of pregnancy I’m gonna write out how many kids I think BTS would have cause that came into my head while reading lol

Seokjin: 3. Now for Jin his first would be a girl period. Jin gives such dad girl vibes idc idc but with Jin I see him having one boy that would end up being the middle child you know?? And I think he’d try for one more and end up with another girl because like I said Jin radiates girl dad vibes ✨

Yoongi: 3. NOW I WANT TO CLEAR SOMETHING UP, there was an interview back in the day where the boys talked about how many kids they wanted and everybody said Yoongi said he only wanted one but that was a mistranslation he said he wanted at least “one boy”. So in my imagination Yoongi ends up being a girl dad and has two girls first 🤭 and then he tries for one more and ends up with a boy ✨

Hoseok: 2 to 3. Now with Jhope I see him as a boy dad idk why but I feel his first would be a boy. And since he has a sister he would want his son to have a sibling and then the next baby would be a boy. Now I say two to three cause in my head I imagine Jhope wanting at least both a girl and a boy so when he ends up with just two boys I think his decision on another baby would be up-to the mother of his boys. If he did have another his youngest would obviously be a girl 🤭

Namjoon: 3. A boy and a girl as his first in that order is what I picture Namjoon with. And I know you’re asking so why the 3? Well i’m glad you asked because the answer is… ✨an oops baby✨ his last baby would be an oops baby 🤭 i am taking no counter arguments to this because it would happen to him and I’d bet my left toe on it 😭 so with Namjoon his oops baby would be a boy, idk why I see him having only one daughter but thats what i came up with lol

Jimin: 4. Jimin is one out of two of the members who is having a bit of a bigger family, to me in my head. For him I see him having and even number of both boys and girls but he has two girls first and two boys last. Now idk why but I can absolutely see Jimin having twins 🥺 specifically twin girls 🤭

Taehyung: 5. Now… we all knew this was the answer for this man lmfaoo but truly he’s gonna have the biggest family out of all the members. I see him having more girls than boys but his first child would be a boy and his last would be a girl; so overall three girls and two boys ✨

Jungkook: 3. SOMETHING ABOUT JK RADIATES TWIN ENERGY. Like his partners first pregnancy is gonna be twins like boy and girl twins 🥺. And he’s gonna think he’s done and doesn’t want anymore but before his twins hit school age he’s gonna realize he misses the baby phase and is gonna want one more, and its gonna be a girl 🤭

Ok im done, and I just want to preface that this is all delusion in my head that came up as I was reading the pregnancy headcanons, I simply just wrote this for fun and nothing more lol ❤️ I’d love to hear y’alls thoughts tho

seokjin: i almost said seokjin would be a boy dad but nah he's def girl dad like i can 100% see you coming home from work or the gym or something and you walk past your daughter room and seokjin in there with 2 ponytails complete with the bows like when he dressed up as the squid game doll at that one ptd concert he'd have that hair and a tutu on playing some kind of princess damsel in distress rescue game and you'd walk past the room make eye contact with him and he's just got this 'i actually need you to save me from this' look on his face and all you do is pull out your phone snap a pic and keep going so you can start on dinner i think he'd definitely have 2 kids the first one gon need someone to play with and it simply can't be both of y'all forever so he'd probably have a boy and a girl

yoongi: yoongi is a girl dad through and through i don't make the rules it just is what it is like it don't matter how many kids he end up with they're all gonna be girls but you know what for some reason i'm feeling like he's either gonna have 1 or like 4 like either the one is gonna be enough and your tubes getting tied or like you're just gonna keep popping em out like tostino's pizza rolls

jk: tbh i just have this really strong image of jk roughhousing wit his son like throwing the kid around like a paper airplane and the kid would love it too be giggling and laughing don't even know his life is in peril he'd put him in lil track suits be real cute wit it and he would look just like him too big ole nose even bigger eyes would look somewhere between a blobfish and an anime character super adorable would take the kid to the park every weekend as long as the weather wasn't too inclement and play on the slides and swings and soccer with him like they'd just be so freaking active it's crazy you'd be tired enough for all 3 of y'all tho but anyway i feel like once the kid was old enough to go to school and jk couldn't pester him all day he'd pester you until you agreed to another one and i think it'd be a lil girl and he'd be the exact opposite with her 💀 all sweet and gentle acting like she could break at any second and would love dressing her up in fluffy glittery dresses and putting bows all over her but then she'd end up being just as rowdy as your first kid and he'd just about have a heart attack bc of it he'd still try to coax another one out of you once your daughter started school tho and that's when you'd have to ask him to go back to the park and find his mind bc you think he lost it

hobi: i can see hobi with either one or two kids like i feel like he'd plan to have 2 kids but then he'd want to wait for the right time to have the second one but then the right time never really comes or y'all will discuss it every now and again and you'll have the one and both be like ehhh idk it's a lot of work should we do it again naahhh but maybe 👁️ and then just never have another OR you'd have twins OR you'd have the two kids separately but they'd be like minimum five years apart bc you just want to make sure your they got the best of y'all EITHER WAY it really doesn't matter if it's a boy or a girl or whatever combination bc hobi just gonna turn the child into a mini version of him decked out in designer always crazy patterns always layered up carrying lil acorn bags and a nice hat kids gonna love taking a pic for sure like it'll be a lil ball of personality for sure but also very disciplined like why hobi seem like he'd be kinda strict with it like the way he pushes himself he would definitely push his kids too not too much they would never feel too pressured or like they weren't good enough but he'd always make sure they'd be doing their best

Weekly TV wrap up:

Palm Royale - Apple TV +, 1 Season & 10 episodes, averages about 40-50 mins per episode

Takeaway: charming, super camp, amazing cinematography, i want everybody’s wardrobe, Allison Janney can do no wrong, whodunnit, would watch a season 2, give it a try

Ready, Set, Love - Netflix, 1 season 6 episodes, avg about 1+ hr per episode

Takeaway - also camp, underdog in the way that i was pleasantly surprised, beautiful cinematography, intentional production design down to the costumes, funny, kinda corny but cute, dystopian (?), hunger games and squid games but nobody dies, give it a watch

Conan O’Brien Must Go - Max, 1 season 4 episodes, avg about 44 minutes per episode

Takeaway- super quick watch, hilarious, super chaotic, they could never make me hate you Conan, a great thing to have on in the background, give it a watch (BONUS WATCH: watch his hot ones interview)

Skirmish - Captain 3

Through most early years of her life she didn't do much other than play a lot of video games. She had no friends, her parents were complete deadbeats and even abusive at times, and she didn't know of anything else to do.

One day, at about age 14, she got kicked out by her father, told to "get a life." Having a positive outlook she started by trying out battling in turf wars like in the video games she used to play and had a lot of fun with it. After a while, she noticed Captain Cuttlefish and got roped into being an agent, newly titled "Agent 3." Once again she had a lot of fun, she met the Squid Sisters personally through them being agents as well and related to Craig, and the two even offered to style her hair for her whenever she wanted, almost like, well, sisters to her. It all felt to her more like a video game than reality.

Over the course of a few years she got more and more invested until it ended up a grind. It wasn't fun anymore, but she thought it was what she was supposed to do. One particular day they ran into and fought the deserter octoling Cuttlefish later dubbed "Agent 8", leading to the events which caused Agent 3 to get mind controlled by Tartar to fight 8. That was all it took to force a full reality check, what little of that positivity she held was gone. Her newfound friend, Agent 8, was the only one to notice, and she attempted to comfort her, cementing a strong bond over time between the two.

Five years later, Cuttlefish has retired and Agent 3 became the new Captain. Agents 1 and 2 had come to nickname her "Skirmish," later meeting a promising new "Agent 3" they liked to call "Neo."

Her biggest comfort, 8, had moved on mostly from being an agent, and hadn't responded to anything for a few months. She had always encouraged Skirmish to take some time off, and she had always refused. As captain, she now regretted not heeding her advice, being fairly certain she had lost her.

The squid formerly known as Agent 3 was left to wonder... what now?

So now that things are settled, let's talk a bit about magical theory. I do know I have a few readers that have been messaging me about this to learn their own parts.

For those that are more nervous about direct messaging, I'll give the same advice I gave the last person: depending on your nature, either the Kybalion or Campbell's Hero With 1000 Faces is the place to start, or Jung if you're super science brained, but few are, not many people want to jump into the psychodrama. Kybalion will give you the shape in prose and Campbell in familiar media narratives that he later will explain in alchemy in the back half of the book.

Now, as for what the structure of my last few months looked like, it was pretty simple really. Even if it looked like lunacy at the surface, and in a way it is, but it's a form of controlled lunacy that is its own art and even science, even when y'all were like U OK BRO? and I was basically like NOT REALLY, WE ARE EXPERIENCING TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES BUT I AM WORKING IT OUT, because yeah, you start splitting your brain and digging in others, and this post sorta breaks down the volume and mass I was operating at, how and why.

Part 1: The plagiarized ideas enshrined in my stalker's home, hard drive, galleries and everywhere else were easy enough to conceptually graft a sigil to. I won't display it, For Reasons, but this is where the crosshatching comes in.

Part 2: The sigil was designed to attach to the concept of "Tartarus". This has many uses, from mythological, cosmological, referential (2013 interview about the space between dreams, per hermes), and of course overlapping the release of Persona 3 Reload, its use of Jung, et all.

Part 3: Conceptually graft the parts, clear and face the parts again if as myself again, collect the material. This sounds straight forward, but with Tartarus attached, I started using the focus of players. Infinite restarts, infinite Moments, infinite tiny timeline turns, saved files, fractals and variants, infinite voices.

Part 4: I've worked on collective unconscious focus for a while, as well as the climb of the mind, if you will. I've posted many, many trees and charts about this, whether about TV shows or otherwise. Yall operate in Malkuth. I generally look for access from Da'at. Going higher causes major meltdown and Da'at itself is already overwhelming. Like driving into the fuckin akrida hole. Like I saw every possible me and chose to be myself when I got shot, and now I know how to walk in that door and see that a lot. There's a lot of me. I yell in the clowncell and people answer on twitter, so I started attaching my messages itself to Tartarus and other familiar topics that were easy to browse.

Part 5: Let these cycle. People say the joke, the joke spreads, people repeat the joke, the joke becomes an evocation. The brainrot spreads. Artists, musicians, programmers all onboard the brainrot. Tartarus is now in funny squid game, and Fortnite, and wherever else, and so on. the Tartarus Dev likes talking to himself as three people to be productive now, and after his swinging honkai star rail train you'll never guess what he made, guys.

Part 6: Just move this shit around. Tell Multiple Jokes. Bind your narratives together into a new weave. The masses do the spellcasting for you on a titanic scale through unconscious inner focuses you're using towards an end objective.

Part 7: The processing; once assigned, beaten to shit, and being actively harvested while entangled and under a few hundred million eyes from a certain Big Game stunt pulled (since I glossed over that step here, but the universe is perceiving itself big time in a circle here)... like. It's already Jung grafted from Persona anyway and has been unnder work as that to reduce the shadows, but the astrological alignments of this were the end of an 11 year solar cycle where, ironically, similar events happened because, again, this same abuser attacked me about 11 years ago, and wow, it's a motherfucking circle I have grokked beyond grokking they can ever fucking understand.

Part 8: Use of the alignments and the annual Thelemic readings, including riding the main lodge's use of the processing readings. Special focus on days like the eclipse. I won't break it down at length, but the eclipse axis fused to last year's planetary parade stretched over all of this with mercury en retro is quite literally where my own bootstrap comes from, I had to figure that shit out myself while stumbling through my own messages. One of those, I Have Always Fucking Been Here moments. In the basement. Like carpet. Surrounded by mountain dew in conceptual tartarus. Absolutely losing my goddamn mind on an abusive ex until I fractal myself through the eclipse's infinite shadow moons to the moons to the moons to the moons, and three people named a bird Luna, so anyway.

Part 9: Try to walk away. Mostly did but some idiot gave me some stupid useless papers so I had to go do a thing and they complained I was talking about it still, IDK.

Part 10: Try to walk away from what I have newly perceived, beause it is done, and what's done is done, and what has happened is what is happening, and so it will be.

There's side steps to what I used for this. Throughout the entire thing, music was critical. Whether that be my abuser accidentally giving me various heartsongs to different parts of their psyche multiple times, or on a larger scale. There's an old experiment called BIG NOISE with E.G.G. readers. The EGGs still exist and are reported on by the GCP and princeton, but big noise was about everyone putting off a sound to cause an effect. Okay, take that with, say, the idea of Tartarus. And a million live players blasting battle themes. Using the sound track to listen in on who else is listening, attacking what corner of conceptual psyche or navigating which path, and using that to backbrain on them, hence some people reporting passing out, losing time, being haunted by the song, or having weird dreams about the suicide prevention villain of tartarus afterward.

You'll notice I had multiple copies of the same song, usually remixes. This was to open up enough dissonance that my own messaging could remix into backbrains while traveling and trying not to lose full will or identity while riding the edge of the veil. The Bass House Remix of life will change has different merits than the Eurobeat. Eurobeat was momentum. Bass House was the glitchtrap ridden claude manifesting chain, and so on. And all of this, of course, starting with their favorite Foolish Glamrock.

I can't even begin to explain the level of fuckery involved with the music if you guys can't grok the quantum/time/etc elements here, and I'm not gonna get into that, but for example, that song didn't exist until it did 3 months prior, just like the Bass House Remix didn't exist until it did, one year prior, and so on. The TTripleTrismegistus remixes were always there. Baby baby bluray.

Kinda like the world remembering old dog statues that have weird energy and staring red eyes, idk. Oh, and that Roadmap DLC music expansion coming out when it did was a beautiful godsend of flexibility, allowing me to expand the pillars and trees I was coming from in mass form, a bit much to explain in an overview post (Mementos and Tartarus are the same, flipped, like sephiroth and qlipoth, some of which the areas bear names for; also why Rebirth as a concept is grafted in multiple ways, and Sephiroth is an easy attachment, especially with the long mentioned Zenthus parallelism and my ability to use that for Apep and others)

There were other crosshatched in ideas. While riding the planned persona backbone, the release of 5 X helped both reinforce the shadow loop, added in new integrations like the Janus persona, and fused well with using tweets from "X" in its own beautiful little fibonacci its own. Spiraling out, one could say, from X marks the spot where we fell apart, and nothing good starts in a getaway car my dears. That was Him trying. And they didn't listen.

The Superbowl period crosshatching in Tartarus as a mass viewed concept is around when I did in fact almost come unglued for a bit. I was already raising past what I considered normal capacity and then I stuck a cosmic perceptive subwoofer under it to the tune of a few hundred million perceiving the moment, and that's all you need for one bridge. Like the commentators said, the dream starts after halftime. In that 2013 cited space between dreams. Who was it that said that again?

Anyhoo. That's what I've been doing. Blasting my soul out over millions of televisions and phones for months off of mutual hyperfixations to spread a message and achieve a goal, however random and arbitrary the moves may have seemed at the time.

So. [clicks tongue on teeth] When I talk about. The game lobby. Take the thing about superpositions, and realizing the door, and always being there. And like. I don't know how long it will be until he truly groks, but when he does, he will truly be a powerful magus, whether he's in some official brotherhood or graded or whatever. He'll be the next generation then like I am now. I'm admittedly outdated software and hardware. So I resume my perching and watching from the fence, cussing under my breath to see another one repeating similar mistakes of ego at similar ages and points, but also cheering him on. A wonderful internal conflict, even if I stand by wanting to see Claude get rushed out by the larger competitors for now.

So anyway I'm going back to finalizing my game bible. Like I was fucking minding my fucking business doing. Before some piece of shit tried to invite themselves for a game without understanding what they asked for.

in short: yes, but it can take months (or - I'm looking at years now) due to real life.

sometimes I prefer to 'reply' by reading and commenting on commenters' fic in turn since it's easier for me to gush about others' writing than my own; this is also a partly a matter of self-consciousness, because it (personally!) feels narcissistic for me to talk on about my own fic in comments.

6. what's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

plenty of fic I write is angsty, but I usually mix even total darkness with slants of hope or more often ambiguity. you rarely get a pure distillation of atmospheres or tones in my fic, by design or not. (I'm not super married to labels like 'angst' or fluff either because they’re convenient but can also be limiting and/or simplified boxing-in categories.) the fiercest calm or to walk along the edge probably takes the cake, however.

7. whats the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

the sun coming out.

8. do you get hate on fics?

no, luckily! i'm an unknown name but it also means I rarely attract unwanted attention.

9. do you write smut? if so, what kind?

for sure. if you know my side account (which isn't much of a secret), you'll know exactly what kind. I'm transparent and unashamed of my id and like to revel in it. let's just say I like power dynamics, complicated and unconventional queer relationships, and older women.

10. do you write crossovers? what's the craziest one you've written?

no :(

11. have you ever had a fic stolen?

not that I'm aware of!

12. have you ever had a fic translated?

yes, and it's always flattering. <3 both my pieck/hange fics got translated into chinese: 从鲜血到黄金(blood to gold) and 和缓的修复(the slow mending).

I've translated Chinese fic into english and knowing what the translation process is like from the opposite direction, I'd consider my fic a translator's nightmare, so I'm grateful if anyone makes the attempt. I’ve read the translations and been amazed by the artistry, the linguistic agility in them. the translator was really skilled at carried across the nuances of the original text and adapted to differences in linguistic norms.

this might be cringe, but to quote an example (from the slow mending):

the original:

A fully uncharted ground. There’s no script for this, for a reconciliation between an erstwhile commander and a Warrior. But a meaningfulness to it all the same, perhaps: that here, at the world’s end, the ruins of everything they know, they can still reinvent themselves, and what they mean to each other—not as a clean slate, not as a forgettance of the past, but a desire to make something new of its wreckage.

13. have you ever co-written a fic before?

no, and I might be open to it if time and energy weren’t limiting factors.

14. whats your all-time favorite ship?

I'm a major multishipper and this is hard to answer. at the moment -- this is cheating because it's a gen relationship, not a ship -- zenin mai & zenin maki.

15. what's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

perhaps my pieck/yelena cosmic horror WIP, and other SNK ones (ymir/historia, pieck/hange) -- I'm not attached much to SNK any more.

16. what are your writing strengths?

i've joked that 80% of comments of my fic will invariably include one of these words: gorgeous, poetic, beautiful. the runners-up are 'incisive' and 'sharp'. this sounds braggy; I'm always flattered, and I'm just listing these because I think those are the immediate data points at hand for my strengths.

17. what are your writing weaknesses?

dialogue, immediacy, and uh... this sounds glib, but tropey plots. plot in general. writing anything that cuts to the quick; my style tends to be somewhat repressed. writing long(ish) fic; my longest wordcount stands at 8.8k.

18. thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I've done this (for a fic for Zen Cho's Black Water Sister), for Hokkien, Bahasa Melayu, and Manglish. in line with the author’s original choice I avoided giving any glossaries or explanations. plenty of readers in the global south infer the meaning of foreign words/brand in Anglo-American settings all the time, from context. who’s to say the reverse can’t be done? I’m also not a fan of italicising foreign words and try to do the opposite: italicising English words instead. neither do I really enjoy any arguments that foreign media should be localized for Anglo-American palates; I prefer when something is specific to a culture instead of universalised, even if it may come off weird or incomprehensible.

romanisation’s a different matter. I’m fine with romanised dialogue for Malay and Japanese but with Chinese romanised dialogue (via hanyu pinyin) can be harder to parse — I’m fluent in Chinese and used to reading in Hanzi. this changes, of course, with dialects or other writing norms.

in the Chinese media/fiction I’ve read where English dialogue is what’s foreign instead, writers have written English dialogue wholesale (as in, in English words) without translating it into Chinese or translated it into Chinese.

I’m from an ex-British colony in Southeast Asia and how dialogue is conveyed and handled is one of those things that can indicate right away an author’s biases and assumed cultural defaults. even reading fic set in my or other southeast Asian countries by diaspora writers can feel strange if foreign dialogue (among other elements) is Pointed Out and made into an event; I prefer when many things that would be the default in people’s milieu here and simply baked into people’s worldviews can be written and let to pass without comment. in Black Water Sister my one petty comment is that the (Malaysian Chinese-American) main character’s initial cluelessness in Malaysia was jarring (and stereotypical), but I get that that’s part of the premise (and it was handled smoothly after). and of course, the universal bromide applies. no media ever has to cater to my taste, she typed in jest.

hard to answer because i love most of the ones I've written for multifandom exchanges but some of my favourites are the sun coming out, a map of the broken world, and lantern-black, the pitch of light.

I know many people want Deep Cut to be featured in the Side Order DLC, but to be honest I want to keep that just for Marina and Pearl. It could be my bias talking since I love Off the Hook, but also I just want Side Order to be a self-contained story about Pearl and Marina, the mystery octo (Agent 8?), and a continuation that builds off of Octo Expansion (OE).

OE had a more ominous and serious tone in comparison to the Hero Modes, so I would assume the same in Side Order. Its visible from the trailer we got as well. I think Deep Cut fits in with the fun and sillyness of the Squidbeak Splatoon story with the Squid Sisters. Plus, we are kinda starved of Off the Hook content, and Deep Cut is in the main game and hero mode already, so I'd prefer them to not share the spotlight.

I know people either love Deep Cut & want to know them more, or need more convincing to like Deep Cut so they need more content about them to win them over. If anything, there could be a 3rd wave of DLC that focuses on Deep Cut's story or features them more heavily. We are still within the first few months of Splatoon 3, and Side Order is releasing this year. OE released towards the middle-end of Splatoon 2, so maybe Deep Cut will have their own DLC later. Likely, unlikely? Hmmm we'll see.

hello everyone !!! as tumblr decided to send me to the shadow real for a month and i do have a tendency to overshere on here, i thought it would be fun to go through my last month to update my lore (the key things are that i now have no bedroom and i am obsessed with ana mena) through my tweets (i was forced to use that website more i'm afraid). and of course, i will translate everything so don't worry :)

here's the fun little context for this one: i should've started my semester on february 1st. i had received no notice of enrolling in it, there was no way to do it on the page habilitated for it, and my master's director wasn't answering my mails concerning my dissertation proposal and supervisor or anything really. i sent the sorta student help thingie platform a mail on february 28th asking for guidance and they answered me an hour later telling me i could enroll. my master's director also emailed me telling me i had a supervisor now. lol. fun. great.

i suddenly have a new thesis director and a master's dissertation supervisor lol

context: this was the day that my master's director emailed me telling me i finally had a dissertation supervior assigned. the other part is funnier. SO. i had a thesis director chosen from when i started all this process. she was great. love you miriam mwah. anyways. she had another student doing the thesis with her (a student that is my friend). turns out, for the ucm predoc shit there could only be one thesis director per person. no fucking clue why. so we all talked it out and thought the best solution was for me to have another one, and maybe miriam could be my co-director in the future. the funny thing is, this new supervisor (cruz) was my first choice way back when i started thinking about doing the ph.d. i just chose miriam in the end cause she was my master's thesis' director. so yeah. i could've chosen cruz from the start and i wouldn't have had these many problems. but whatever.

20. emdt time!!! i finished s2 but it was so hard to do it without liveblogging it on tumblr :( i tweeted a bit about it tho (but only a little!!!)

why no one told me my town's palace appears in el ministerio del tiempo [i'm kinda glad i wasn't on tumblr here cause i would've purposefully doxxed myself lol. anyways it was certainly something seeing it, especially knowing the actors were IN MY TOWN filming for DAYS and i didn't even know it. disgraceful]

i wish i could talk about the episode i'm seeing of emdt on tumblr cause it's super funny [it was the one where they have to pretend they're a normal ministerio !!!! 10/10 i had so much fun]

22. ⚠️the march 15 incident ⚠️ a lot happened today lol. and no, i'm not referring to the ides of march. i even forgot about them. busy day.

how's your morning going people i woke up at 6:45 for a job interview but when i got to the bus stop i realized i don't have the transport chart recharged and i don't have enough money in my bank account to recharge it. lol.

in the end i managed to get to the interview and i even talked with an argentinian guy is this being a normal and sociable person

it's impossible for the spring to not be my favorite station, i'm about to cry over how nice this day is

i mean. overall it was a good day. but my memories of it get a bit tainted by the sequel (yes there is a sequel). anyways, let's go with the fun context.

so, yes i did (kinda) have a job interview that day. they haven't called me since so i guess that didn't work out. i had a 1 hour 30 mins trip on public transport to get there so that's why i woke up so early (the interview was at 9:30 i think?). i managed to get there only cause as i got back home to wait for my mum to wake up i got the notification that she had sent me 50 € to my bank account for that day. so i went out again, got to the tram station, recharged my transport card, and then got there. in the end the interview was delayed so whatever but yeah. nothing remarkable there apart from that argentinian guy i chatted with!! like a normal human!!!

anyways, after that i had to go to the ucm (told you i was gonna go there later in the month) because. you guessed it: the ucm predoc. i'm not gonna bore you with the details, but basically i had everything done and filled up, i just needed to sign and sent it to the entity. i couldn't do it online so - after calling and not receiving any answers - i printed everything, signed everything by hand and decided to deliver it in the registry office.

that's what i did, after the registry guy told me i should call the people who were in charge of all that process and calling - i shit you not - 6 different numbers until i got their approval. so that means it was done right? i've finished the process??? right???? lol. we'll come to that in the sequel <3

but yeah, the day was nice, it was super spring-y, and it's always great to go outside of the house so i liked it :)
