Mistigram: the incredible @Polyducks also found inspiration in #SusanKare's interface design and #geisha sample art for the #AppleMacintosh and its #MacPaint application, taking them in a new direction in this fantasy OS desktop design. This piece was included in the new MIST1121 artpack collection.

I made my first video essay. It's horrible. I'm proud nonetheless. It's about Clarus the Dogcow, an inside joke the spiraled through the early days of Apple.

“Cairo is the remastered version of the Mac OS6 classic font originally designed by Susan Kare. It includes all your favourites, like cow dog, grapes and omelet. While trying to re-live my Kidpix days I was horrified to find that Cairo had been lost when true type became the standard for fonts. I emailed Susan Kare and asked permission to remaster it. She not only gave me her blessing, but sent me a file containing every pixel font she had made for the mac. It was, and still is a highlight of my career.“

Susan Kare, designer of all the original Mac icons AND the cards in Microsoft Windows 3.0 Solitaire (so, legend), sells prints of her work in limited editions.
You could get "Unhappy Mac" for 159.00, which is what it'll cost to have my "cursed" iMac fixed again. Fuckin' butterfly keyboard.
I have one of the cursed "butterfly keyboard" iMacs and despite replacing the entire bottom half last year (factory recall), the "E" key is now failing. It's just rattling around in the socket.
Circumstance requires me to become a lipogrammatist.
