Hi there. I hope I don't bother you with my question.. But I saw your Abby Acane/Jason Woodrue gifset and the colors are amazing. I tried it with Photoshop CC but it doesn't comes close to your coloring. You don't happen to have a tutorial on how you do it? Kind regards!
hey, thank you so much! i’m so sorry for not answer this faster. i just have been really busy with college and with the holidays coming i just lost track of time. but, anyway, i’ll try my best to explain how you can go from this:
to this:
basically, the essential of this coloring is the adjustments on curves:
you just need to focus first in the main color of that specific scene. in this case, the light was really greeny, so i changed first the green curve by dragging that arrow to the right until i was satisfied (you can change as you feel like, it doesn’t really have a “right” method to do that).
after that, the main color will usually change for another one. with that scene, it changed to red, so i just changed my red curves too. it will look like this:
now i’ll just add a little of brightness and contrast > then color balance > and levels:
it will now look like this:
for the next step, i want the blue to stand out so i’ll use selective color and make adjustments just with colors i want. which in this case, i only want to change the blue from background and the red from his face:
also, i always change the neutrals in my gifs. i feel like they make a good balance between the colors that i initially changed (you don’t need to do the same!)
now my gif looks like this:
to finish, i’ll just make some more adjustments by add exposure > vibrance:

you can see his face looks kinda yellow and i wasn’t satisfied yet with the result, so i add more color balance > and brightness:

„Are weseriously doing this right now?” Jesus’s voice demanded on the other side ofthe door, and when Daryl didn’t answer, he added, “I may be drunk, but I’m still too sober for this.”
He heardfootsteps and then a door shutting with more force than necessarily.
The nextmorning, Daryl headed out into the woods after a mainly sleepless night whilethe whole community still was in their warm beds. It wasn’t something he’dnever done before, going for a hunt with his brain feeling like it was beingsqueezed from each side, he’d had worse, but still, he wasn’t able toconcentrate on the task at hand too much. Either that, or killing the walkershe’d had encountered had scared his game away. There had been more than usuallywhich he honestly was glad for. It had helped to clear his head at least alittle bit.
When he returnedwith only one rabbit he’d had found in his traps, Hilltop was already alive. Atthe gates, they told him that the group from Alexandria had already left;they’d asked for him, but no one had known where he’d been. This includedJesus, who was eyeing him suspiciously while talking to some of the constructionworker, but Daryl ignored him.
He headedback to the trailer after cleaning the game and dropped it off in the kitchen unit.That was when Jesus came out of his room, fully in Kingdom gear, his hair up ina topknot, and a backpack hanging fromhis shoulder. Jesus only paid attention to him for mere seconds while closinghis door, and then he walked to exit and left without saying a word.
Daryl stoodthere, undecided; except for his hands and arms he’d washed up to clean thegame he was still stained with walker blood and guts and sweat and had intendedto go take a shower next. But seeing Jesus leave in full gear after talking tothe construction workers, and that without acknowledging him for more than twoseconds, had of course caught his interest. Without hesitating any longer, hegrabbed his new crossbow and hurried outside just in time to see him walkthrough the gates. Jesus hadn’t taken any of the horses, so he would use a car,and Daryl began to walk fast to hurry after him. Just when he arrived at theparking cars outside, he saw one of the pick-up trucks start and drive down thesteep path to the road.
He liftedhis crossbow to signal him to stop and was surprised to see it actually happena few seconds later. He walked down the path and got into the waiting car. Acautious look at Jesus told him that the other man apparently still wasn’t inthe mood to acknowledge him, so he just turned his head away to look outsidewhile the car started to drive again.
“We’reheaded to Kingdom?” Daryl asked after what seemed to be hours of silence in thecar.
“Was ithard?”
“What?”
“To findyour speech?”
“What?”
Jesussighed and shook his head, but didn’t answer.
“Why are yathis pissed?” Daryl snapped, because he should be the angry one, shouldn’t he?
“I don’tknow, why are you?”
“Man, Idon’t know what you’re talkin’ about.”
The carcame to an abrupt stop and nearly smashed him against the dashboard. Thestreets were clear, so Daryl looked at Jesus who turned around in his seat withfurrowed brows and an angry look he hadn’t seen directed at him ever before.His eyes were as bright as ever, piercing into him and making him shift in hisseat.
“You don’tknow what I’m talking about, do you? Must be nice to play the dumb redneckwhenever it’s easier to hide behind that.”
“What’sthat supposed to mean?” Daryl asked, feeling his blood starting to boil.
“Buckle thefuck up,” Jesus spat and started the car again.
Darylignored his order and looked outside again, he didn’t know how to control theemotions bubbling up inside him, anger mixed with disappointment and fear.
He didn’tknow what had gone so wrong. Before the Alexandrians had come, everything hadbeen alright, they hadn’t fought even once since they’d started whatever they had been doing.
Of coursethey had fought a lot of times before, they’d been roommates for a long timenow, and they’d been on countless runs together, there had been more than justone occasion they’d had the chance to argue. That was why he knew that Paul hadto be really pissed if he didn’t even want to talk about it at the moment. Buthe seemed to have cooled down after a while when he told him where they wereheaded at last. Not the Kingdom, but a big hardware store in the outskirts ofthe city.
Theconstruction workers had told him they were lacking a few things, tools thathad broken and other supplies they ran out of. It had been scheduled for themto go out scavenging next week, but since that would mean for the constructionworks to be delayed, he’d had decided to do a quick run into the store they hadsecured a long time ago, which still had a lot of supplies in store they knewthey could need.
As if theirargument had been forgotten, they checked the area around the store together,making sure no ugly surprises would await them when they came back out from thestore again, but they stood still at its entrance and shared a concerned look.
The doorsweren’t closed.
“Whichgroup was the last coming here?” Jesus asked in a low voice.
“Could alsobe the guys from Kingdom.”
“Why wouldthey be stupid enough to leave the door open?”
Daryl didn’thave an answer to that and it didn’t matter right now. He raised his crossbowwhen Jesus opened the door more to slip in and he followed him. Sudden darknessengulfed them, their eyes needed a few seconds to adjust until they saw aislesand aisles of building supplies, waiting to be picked up by them. They didn’thear anything, and also upon making noise, nothing disturbed the silence of thestore. Jesus walked forward, telling him what they needed, so they could splitup and gather the supplies quicker.
An hourlater, the bed of the truck was filled and they were ready to go.
Just then, twowalkers stumbled around the corner of the store, heading towards them slowly.Their snarls got angrier the closer they came, but Daryl just opened the doorof the car and climbed in.
“Let’s go.”
Jesusignored him and grabbed his knives, starting to walk. Daryl sighed and jumpedout of the truck again, lifting his crossbow to aim at one of the walkers. Hedidn’t hesitate and shot, the arrow passing by Jesus’s head close enough tostartle the scout.
“What the—”
Jesusturned around with an accusing look and shook his head before he steppedforward again to plunge his knife into the other walker’s head with a sickeningcrunching sound. When he returned to the car, he got in and stared at Daryl, whowas already back in his seat, acting like nothing had happened.
“You could have warned me,” Jesus said, clearly waiting for ananswer.
Daryl justshrugged. “Why? Ya doubting my aim?”
“There area lot of things I’m doubting right now, trustme,” he answered and started the truck, ignoring him for the rest of thedrive back to Hilltop.

Just a quick update from my side. All my randomly flagged entries are no longer flagged. But if you still see some entries flagged, please let me know. Furthermore, I've also received a warning/strike from Tumblr yesterday, at the exact same time where my entries got flagged by their wonky algorithm. Just in case I suddenly vanish, or better said my Tom Payne blog, Tumblr informed me that I got reported and if I get in the next 18 months 2 more strikes, my Tumblr account will be terminated. Any new accounts I create will also be terminated. Would be rather more interesting to know what happens to my main blog.
Because TPayne-Legendary is my 2nd Tumblr. And who wants to create a new account after December 17 ??
Anyway.. I was reported for a photo set, which I posted a few months ago. Part 1 got deleted, Part 2 remained unreported. I found this a bit suspicious, also because the same photo set was not only posted by me, but Tumblr didn't question this and took action and I got a strike. This can happen again, anytime. I know who reported me and he is responsible for the downfall of a lot of fan blogs in the last few years on Tumblr.
I know it doesn't look great when I put the © or the source under every entry, but it is necessary. Not only to show the rightful owner, but also to be protected by the Fair Use Rule of the United States Copyright Act of 1976 and to keep Copyright-trolls at bay. See ya!

She is one of those writers that can deliver everything I could ask for in a good story: plot - pacing - characters - style. Her plotting is A+, the pacing is so well that I never get bored or feel like I am reading a “filler chapter”. Everything she puts into a story has a meaning and is there for a reason, even if you don’t get it at the time when you’re reading it. You’ll get it later. The deep layers of her characterization are beautifully portrayed. Her characters are always very vivid and relatable. Her writing is realistic and effective, but it still has the time to be flowery and metaphorical in style and treat you with it. Love

He doesn’t take ‘no’ for an answer. Everything is a challenge to him. If you think “nah, no one can do this” - HE WILL FUCKING DO IT. His insight on characters and his ability of understanding and portraying human nature is something very powerful to me. He manages to portray complicated personalities and also situations with twisted atmospheres and complexity with such an ease. When I first read a fic of him, he blew my mind with his talent to nail the portrayals of human psychology in a simple and straightforward way.
