Belgian GP 1950: Grand Prix #5 in Formula 1 history
In a only 14 cars grid, on 18 June 1950, three Alfa Romeo were starting from the first three positions as usual. Poleman was Nino Farina, followed by team-mates Juan Manuel Fangio and Luigi Fagioli, with Fangio who took the lead in the first stages of the race, to stay in the lead except at the moment in which he had a pitstop - all the Alfa stopped at some point.
Farina was second until he suffered some technical issues and dropped to fourth in the closing stages of the grand prix and Fagioli was promoted to p2. The last step of the podium went to Louis Rosier, Talbot-Lago driver, who already finished on the podium in the previous Swiss GP. It was the last time he was on a podium in Formula 1.
Ferrari, which entered with two cars driven by Alberto Ascari and Luigi Villoresi, ended up in p5 and p6, with Ascari the only of the two in the points as only the first five finishers scored points back in the days. They were ahead of the others finishers Talbot-Lago, the French team being hugely represented on the grid with half of the cars.

Talbot-Lago T150C SS, 1937, by Figoni et Falaschi. In total the Italian/French coachbuilder (Italian-born Giuseppe Figoni partnered with businessman Ovidio Falaschi) built 11 of these hemi-head 6 cylinder "teardrop" coupés but no 2 were the same. One showroom stock T150C SS raced and was placed third overall at the 1938 24 Hours of Le Mans.

1949 Talbot-Lago T26 Grand Sport Fastback Coupe
This one-off Antem Fastback Coupe was built for French industrialist Michel Paul-Cavallier, an important business associate of Anthony Lago and a director for Automobiles Talbot. As director of the Pont-a-Mousson foundry and steel company, Cavallier had a say in the allocation of resources such as steel. So the car created for him was to be a very special car for a very special client. Just two Grand Sport road cars were created with a twin ignition twelve-plug head and an aluminum block, as on the Talbot Grand Prix cars, and this is one of them. The engine is capable of generating 250 to 260 horsepower, which is about 60 or 70 more than the standard Grand Sport. Additional speed equipment included a dry sump, special high-compression pistons, a special exhaust, a substantial oil cooler, and a GP braking system. In contrast to its undercarriage, the Antem body is a quiet but lovely counterpoint; almost austere in its lack of ornamentation, its smoothness offers the calm this car needs. There are some gaps in the car's ownership record in the early years, but as early as 1958, it was registered in California to Patrick de Goldsmith, and in 1962 it was acquired by Lindley Locke. He and his wife Betty used the car up to 1980, then garaged it for 35 years. The current caretakers acquired the car in 2015, returned it to Europe and restored it.
