So a thought crossed my mind regarding the au. What do the daemons of druids do while in combat? Like Turion. Does he follow Keyleth into the fray? Does he try to stay out of it? Could he be hurt by her if she's in a fire elemental form? I'm curious.

Sorry it took a while to reply to this one, it's another one of those super interesting questions that I needed to put a load of thought into before answering.

For the most part, druid daemons are no different than anyone else's, so yes, Turion tends to follow Keyleth into the fray, to an extent, out of all the Vox Machina daemons, he's the one that enjoys fighting the least. So he tries more to stay out of it for those reasons. As for the elemental forms, a daemon is a part of you, the physicality of your own form doesn't matter so much. So if a druid became a fire elemental, their daemon would take on certain traits, like a resistance to fire. So your own daemon wouldn't be injured by it, but you could still hurt someone else's.

The most interesting thing for a druid's daemon is its ability to wildshape as you do; if Keyleth becomes Minxie, Turion also becomes a sabre-tooth in order to be able to keep up with her. It's the one way that he can still change forms. It also comes in handy when she wildshapes into a giant eagle, as he can become one and carry the other members of Vox Machina's daemons without the risk of Keyleth touching them.

This is different from polymorph, where a person's daemon disappears entirely, because you're no longer yourself and don't have the same soul.

🌴 Asparagina: l'asparago selvatico "a costo zero" 🌴 È una piccola pianta sempreverde cespugliosa, perenne, della famiglia delle Asparagacee, diffusa in tutto il bacino del Mediterraneo. I nomi comuni "asparago spinoso" e "asparago pungente" derivano dalle caratteristiche spine poste alla base dell'apparato fogliare; è una pianta caratteristica della macchia mediterranea. Dal punto di vista botanico, gli asparagi selvatici sono i germogli di una pianta rizomatosa chiamata asparagina. Il rizoma si sviluppa in profondità nel terreno, creando una struttura reticolare. La parte aerea della pianta, che spunta dal rizoma, si presenta sotto forma di un lungo stelo legnoso di colore verde chiaro o verde intenso con sfumature violacee in prossimità della punta. Contengono poco sodio, una bassa percentuale di lipidi (circa 0,17 grammi) e pochissime calorie (solo 25 ogni 100 grammi). La loro composizione, quindi, li rende particolarmente adatti ad essere inseriti in regimi dietetici ipocalorici. Sono ricchissimi di provitamina A e vitamine del gruppo B,C, E e K. La provitamina A svolge un ruolo fondamentale contro i radicali liberi, oltre a proteggere i capelli, la pelle e le mucose. Le vitamine del gruppo B sono in grado di attivare i processi metabolici, trasformando il cibo in energia, mentre la vitamina C aiuta a rafforzare il sistema immunitario e protegge i vasi sanguigni. Genomics of turions from the Greater Duckweed reveal its pathways for dormancy and reemergence strategy

Over 15 families of aquatic plants are known to use a strategy of developmental switching upon environmental stress to produce dormant propagules called turions. However, few molecular details for turion biology have been elucidated due to the difficulties in isolating high-quality nucleic acids from this tissue. We successfully developed a new protocol to isolate high-quality transcripts and carried out RNA-seq analysis of mature turions from the Greater Duckweed Spirodela polyrhiza. Comparison of turion transcriptome to that of fronds, the actively growing leaf-like tissue, were carried out. Bioinformatic analysis of high confidence, differentially expressed transcripts between frond and mature turion tissues revealed major pathways related to stress tolerance, starch and lipid metabolism, and dormancy that are mobilized to reprogram frond meristems for turion differentiation. We identified the key genes that are likely to drive starch and lipid accumulation during turion formation, as well as in pathways for starch and lipid utilization upon turion germination. Comparison of genome-wide cytosine methylation levels also revealed evidence for epigenetic changes in the formation of turion tissues. Similarities between turions and seeds provided evidence that key regulators for seed maturation and germination have been retooled for their function in turion biology. http://dlvr.it/SfxkrT
