pile one i feel like your future partner’s mother is really going to like you! your person could come from a culturally different background, but you two just make sense together. i think that your charisma/mindset/demeanor is what initially made your person fall head over heels for you - and your charm will work just as much on their family as it does on them. their mother is going to ADORE you! omg i see the mom pulling your person aside towards the end of the evening (it looks like a dinner or a social gathering of some sort) and they whisper to them, “you picked a good one. i’m proud of you.” AWWW they have this twinkle in their eyes like they’re about to cry. you’re everything that they could’ve ever hoped/prayed for your person to bring home. you’ve got the whole package in their eyes! you might be a little shy when you first meet their family — i’m seeing you get all antsy and jittery while you’re getting ready, but your person is going to hold your hand the whole way through…you will never feel alone.

even when you’re talking to their family members, i see them keeping a gentle hand on your back or their arm resting on the back of your chair; just little gestures and signs to make you feel comfortable and secure. i don’t think they’ve ever really brought anyone home to meet their parents/family…i’m seeing that scene from ‘how to lose a guy in 10 days’ after the game of bullshit, andie is like “how many other girls have lost this game?” or something like that and ben’s mom is like “what other girls, honey? you’re the first girl he’s ever brought home.” and andie’s face drops like WHAT?!?!! lol yeah that’ll be your reaction if that ends up being the case, cause it'll just solidify how your person has never experienced something as real and beautiful as the connection they share with you.

your persons family will see that they’re making an effort with you. they may have been a bit of a player before they met you, but you unlock a different side of your partner that they’ve never seen before. they’re like “[YOUR PARTNER'S NAME]? is that you?” LOL they’ll be thoroughly shocked when they see how enraptured and affectionate they are with you. i’m hearing caught up in the rapture by anita baker mhm they loooooveeeeee you, pile 1. i’m tryna not to cry :,) but they love you so damn much it's so wholesome. every moment with them is gonna feel like you're on cloud 9 — this is a whimsical ‘once in a life time’ type of love. they would scream their love for you from the mountain tops if that's what was asked of them. you make them feel like they can do anything, and that's why their family is gonna love you so much. you bring out the best in this person, UGH. LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS.

not far off from how their family will feel about you — their friends will also approve of you! like i said before, you seriously bring out another side of your partner that they haven’t even seen before either. if anything, they feel like their friend is more motivated and less in their head about shit since you’ve come into the picture. i think your partner used to be really pessimistic and a bit of a downer when it came to love/relationships, but meeting you helped them realize that love truly is real. their friends will think that you’re very witty and knowledgeable, you may like to debate about certain topics and they’ll find it hilarious and engage with you. they may also think that you're a bit stubborn lol but ultimately you’re persuasive enough to make them see your point of view. i think they'll really like you, and they'll love how different you are from the previous love interests your person would bring around/talk about.

hey pile 2! i'm ngl i'm kinda picking up on some mommy issues here? i don't think your partner has the greatest relationship with their mother. they posibly had an absent mother or their mother was very cold towards them growing up. your person had to grow up fast (they didn't have a choice) is what i'm hearing. if not that, then they might’ve grew up in a household where love and care was never displayed or given to them. your persons energy is very masculine and kind of cold.

it's gonna take everything in them not to self-sabotage due to their trauma, but this masculine figure in their life is going to have a talk with them and really make them think about what they’d be giving up if they were to let you go. after this conversation they're going to realize how much you mean to them and how they can't imagine a world without you being by their side — they're gonna put a ring on it. YUP PILE 2. you heal this person in so many ways that i can't even fully express. they’re always learning something new from you and they see you as such a positive influence in their life.

their friends know how much they've been through, and how hard it was for your person to get close to anyone platonically let alone romantically. so you coming into your partner's life will be an absolute shock to them, but they'll be super appreciative of you! they see the passion and happiness you ignite in their friend, pile 2. they'll think you're an absolute gem. they'll be happy that you two are together and i see them clowning their friend (all in good humor) about how sprung you got them lol this is so light-hearted compared to their family dynamic. your partner’s friends really became their family — they were right there in their time of need. i feel like you and their friend group will mesh together so well.

seeing how tight knit this person is with their family might be a bit intimidating at first, pile 3. you're gonna be in your head like "omg will they like me? will i fit in?" their family dynamic might differ from yours in terms of how they talk/interact/express themselves — you might be used to sitting back and keeping to yourself during family events. you're not loud or overly expressive when communicating with/around your family, so seeing how boisterous and animated this person and their family members can be will catch you off guard.

grocery shopping with your boyfriend was always fun. he always found a way to cheer you up. a lot of things reminded him of you, and you would be the first to find out. dating dokyeom has always been that -- fun. you can’t count the amount of times he has tugged on your sleeve and said, “hey, y/n, doesn’t this remind you of--” and proceeded to remind you of a funny moment you had together. it was almost impossible to stop smiling around him. 

but sometimes the smile didn’t stay…. and it was usually because you cannot take this man anywhere. 

“we should get this too,” dokyeom said, grabbing another bag of chips and dropping it in the cart. “limited edition holiday flavor!” 

without waiting for your response, he grabbed another box on the shelf. “and this one,” dokyeom added in again, holding up a box of rice crackers. “you like these when it’s cold outside.” 

you wonder how you got here. you were supposed to go make a quick grocery trip alone before dinner since your boyfriend was still out with his friends. he wasn’t due back until right before dinner, so you still had time to run to grab a bottle of salt and sesame seeds. 

your plans were derailed when you saw dokyeom and his friends on the walk over to the grocery store. as soon as he saw you, his eyes lit up, bid his friends a quick good-bye, and ran over to trap you in a big hug. he was always sooo happy to see you. if you didn’t know any better, you would be able to see his lil’ tail wagging back and forth. 

and that’s how you ended up at the grocery store with your boyfriend with a cart full of snacks, chips, and no salt or sesame seeds. 

you watched him hug his cookies as he studied the aisle once again. “mmm, y/n, i think we should get these chips too. they’re your favorite, right?” 

“kyeom, we need salt and sesame seeds,” you told him, eyeing the lack of ingredients in the cart that you came for. 

his head whipped around to you, puppy eyes activated. “are these not your favorite anymore?” he asked you, worried about his choice of chips. the boxes of cookies were dropped into the cart immediately, but his hands were reaching for the chips already. 

your heart melted, unable to stay annoyed at him. “no, they’re still my favorite,” you replied with a smile on your face. you wrap him up in a hug, leaning your cheek on his warm body. “thank you for thinking of me.” 

“you don’t have to thank me, you know,” dokyeom hummed as he closed his eyes in content. he loves your hugs! his arms wrapped around your waist comfortably. 

“i know, but i want you to know i love you,” you replied, your voice slightly muffled by the material of his sweater. “let’s grab the salt and the sesame seeds so i can cook for you.” 

your boyfriend was the first to pull away, excited. “why didn’t you say so before?” dokyeom pushed the cart over to the spice aisle with a renewed vigor, completely forgetting about the overwhelming selection of tasty treats and snacks he was previously enraptured with. 

you could barely contain your smile. “yah! wait for me!” you giggled, chasing him down. 

by the time you got there, he was grabbing at the brand of sesame seeds you two usually used and was throwing it into the cart. “hurry, y/n. i get to taste your cooking tonight, so we need to get home sooner.” dokyeom told you, feeling giddy. 

“you goofball,” you laughed. “now you wanna hurry up? what happened to your million snacks?” 

he leaned over to you and planted a quick kiss to your lips. “my apologies. i’m just excited.” 

ugh, he always had a way of making your stomach erupt into butterflies -- even now!

even at the checkout line, you could see him bouncing since he was so excited. his card was paying for everything (even the extra cents for some plastic bags) before you could even register the old lady at the checkout telling you the total. 

“what a sweet couple,” she commented with a smile. “enjoy your night, you two.” 

“thank you,” you both chimed back, taking your bags of food. 

as you stepped outside into the chilly weather, dokyeom’s arm brought you closer to him to share his warmth. his lips pressed onto your forehead in an affectionate kiss. “i love you, y/n.” 

“i love you too, kyeom.”

So I just rewatched Barbie The Princess and the Pauper and HOLY SHIT that movie has no right to still be that fucking good, I need to rant.

As a musical lover, this was perfection. Like, every single song was a Bop?!

Free is the perfect beginning to the movie, we see the POV’s from Anneliese and Erika and how, while they both long for their respective version of freedom, they understand their responsabilities and why they just can’t be as free as they’d like to be.

Then… How Could I Refuse? May be my new fave villain song holy shit, no wonder it got a reprise. I love the villain, he’s the perfect amount of ridiculous but also low-key competent.

I Am A Girl Like You. This is lit the only real interaction between Erika and Anneliese but it was just so wholesome and so perfect and just *squeals* I love it. They just click as besties.

To Be a Princess. Julian and Erika are the real besties of this movie, no I will not be taking criticism. Also, Julian’s voice cracking in the middle of admiring and simping for Anneliese was comedy gold. They’re just the best together.

The Cat’s Meow. This had no right to be this fucking good. THIS IS A SONG ABOUT A CAT THAT BARKS WHY THE FUCK WAS I ON THE VERGE OF TEARS?! Also, Dominick is just… the best King he’s just… ugh I love him. And Barky is just… I love him so much.

If You Love Me For Me. I can’t believe Erika and Dominick invented romance. Like, I ship Julian and Anneliese, they’re cute, but Erika and Dominick stole the show, I’ll explain more later.

Now:

Anneliese, I love Anneliese… that’s kinda it. I feel like she didn’t get enough time to shine for me. Don’t get me wrong, I love her scenes, especially watching her be a science girlie and outsmart everyone were great, but I don’t feel that strongly about her. I like her, she’s awesome, that’s it.

Erika, I fucking love Erika. She’s just so… fun? Like, she has a good backstory and motivations, she has big dreams that she refuses to let go of but she’s also just so selfless, like, she knows she could get in huge trouble for pretending to be Anneliese but still does it cause she thinks it’s the right thing to do. Idk, I just adore her.

Julian and Dominick, I love Julian, he’s just a goofy, hopeless romantic. I love his bond with Anneliese and that he’s also pretty smart, if a bit more impulsive than Anneliese. And Dominick, DOMINICK, I know that he has very few scenes but Idk how to explain just how much he just steals the show for me. He’s just best boy.

Julian and Anneliese are so cute, they just make sense. I love that they both just kinda… already knew that they were in love but just didn’t say anything due to her status. But they’d do anything for each other and I am here for it.

Erika and Dominick… they have my heart. They’re more of, almost love at first sight, they have an instant connection and it’s just adorable. But what I love the most about them is that when everything is over and Erika’s debt is paid, she knows that she can’t just marry Dominick, she wants to finally live her dream. And Dominick understand this and just asks her to think about coming back some day.

Gives her an engagement ring, “No promises?” “I’ll take my chances.” SOMEBODY SEDATE ME

And AFTER living her dream, Erika does come back to him and it’s just… AAAAAAHHHHHHH

But yeah anyways… I loved it just as much (if not more) than when I was a kid.

Also, the animated bloopers continue to be iconic. Erika’s phone ringing int he middle of a romantic scene? Amazing. Julian randomly dance breaking in the middle of To Be a Princess? Defined my childhood

Personal Opinion: One of my favorite stories ever. It’s a bittersweet journey as we follow Taichi Ichinose, Toma Mita, and Futaba Kuze navigate their last year of high school together. Along the way, they struggle against gender norms and the curse of falling for someone you can never have. I love these characters with my whole heart. They actually inspired one of my novel ideas, the only one I ever finished so this manga has a special place in my heart.

Spoilers Below For My Likes & Dislikes:

Likes:

- That ending! Holy fucking shit! Taichi is presented as the main protagonist in this series so when we reach the epilogue, we naturally assume that we’re in Taichi’s POV. We’re led to believe that since one of the first things that character does is write the name “Ichinose” at Futaba’s wedding. But then post-wedding, we see Taichi! By process of elimination, the only possible character that could be the POV is Toma! Meaning Taichi and Toma got married! And we know they are married because they live together, they hold hands in the epilogue, and they’re both wearing rings. I squealed. It was such a twist but it also didn’t come out of left field. Toward the end of the series, there were hints that Taichi had reciprocated Toma’s feelings, he just never knew loving men could be an option for him until Toma confessed! Ugh, that epilogue was just so good.

- Anyway, let’s talk about some of the other stuff. I adore the art style. It’s cute and wholesome and each of the characters have their own flavor. Toma exudes big dog energy. Taichi is indeed a tiny gremlin with a good heart. And Futaba is a hamster through and through. The way their drawn matches their personalities so well. And specifically, I love the way the artist drew Toma’s smile. It’s just so radiant and beautiful, I had a crush on him by the end of the series.

- Mami speaks to me on a spiritual level. Why can’t men and women be just friends? Why can’t a girl just hang out with the bros? Why can’t guys wear makeup and why can’t girls play video games? Why should she be cut out from friend groups just because she interacts with a guy? It’s ridiculous and the unfortunate part is, I’ve seen girls treated the way Mami has and it disgusts me. So to see her find a friend in Taichi and Toma and Futaba after everything she went through in middle school, I just wanted her to be happy. And honestly, she had such a badass moment when she said, “Screw everyone else, I’m doing what I want when I want.”

- Mad respect for Shingo for always being there for Mami even when his girlfriends would tell him they were jealous of her. Like fuck you, he was friends with Mami first, why should he stop hanging out with her just because you’re insecure? He also only fought Toma to protect Mami and I love that. But he has no ulterior motives, no romantic interest in Mami, he sees her as a woman but more importantly, as his best friend.

- The deep conversations where Masumi would allude to her sexuality were always so gripping. Like, I really felt for her whenever she was lamenting being in love with a girl and being unable to find happiness with a guy. But Mami was also right that Masumi needed to meet people halfway. Seeing them cry together really tugged at my heartstrings.

- The board game that Taichi and Toma came up with together is such a cute ass detail. Landing on a space where everyone gets friendship power? Ingenious. But the part that really got me was Toma putting their character pieces inside of the charm he gave Taichi, that got me so emotional. “Friendship Power” fuck you, I’m in tears.

- One of my favorite moments was the festival. Toma in a yukata and the girls in kimonos was so great, they looked amazing! But also, that was when Toma gave Taichi his birthday present and I just about bawled my eyes out over it.

Dislikes:

- Kensuke. The source of all the homophobia and vulgar sexism in this series. I hate him. I do understand where some of his homophobia comes from considering his past but the girls were right when they said that has nothing to do with Toma. Anyway, Kensuke isn’t even who I have a big problem with. No, it’s actually Shingo. Yo, he said to the girls that they were just like Kensuke for not tolerating his intolerance. BITCH! And the story framed it like he was right. Ugh, that’s fucked up.

- I wanted more of Taichi and Toma. I want to know how they got together. What happened in between the main story and the epilogue, please tell me KAITO! I need to know how they found each other and fell in love!

Oh GIRRRLLLL

I honestly expected angst but got such soft interactions from this chapter! I mean, yes, Vegas was very filthy in his thoughts but also very sweet? I love him even if he doesn't love himself. Vegas feelings about himself are something we all assumed so no surprises here. It still hurts how badly abused he was and how it all turned him how he is now. Our childhood creates what we are in the future. It's another reason why I'm glad his father is finally dead.

I knew Vegas was in love with Pete. But OMG. His thoughts are so sweet and wholesome. He is so smitten 😂 If he could tell Pete he loves him, he would every hour. The complements!!

It's also nice to really see how he regrets all the hurt he has done to Pete. His confusion in the shower was really worrying. He is scarred as well by this time in the safehouse and will never forget. But I admire his determination to not hurt Pete ever again. Just this shows how much he means to him. I hope Pete's grandmother sees it too 😭

I hoped so bad that the talk would happen in this chapter. But ah, it's okay. I can wait 😩 But I know the conversation is not going to be pleasant. If Pete feels safe enough to sleep side by Vegas it should convince her it's okay?? Right?? 😭

After these few chapters with constant action, danger and sex, it really feels so calm. I loved their conversation about the future. They really needed that. Sebek calls Epel by his name often instead of human. Hecalls him human sometimes but not as much as the others. People start noticing this and go “huh. Strange”

Sebek loves talking about his lovely boyfriend who is the coolest guy to ever exist!!! (He might even surpass Malleus. Sebek is very conflicted) boasting about how amazing and strong he is for a human!!! How he’s very talented and skillfull.

Epel starts speaking less formally with Sebek and occasionally going full blown with his Dialect. Sebek wants to learn more of Epel’s dialect. And Epel gladly teaches him. ARGHHHH Sebek loves Epel’s accent so much.

When it comes to Sebek, I think a lot characters are like “ugh! Sebek is so annoying I hope he DIES” (okay I’m being dramatic but they don’t like him and they tend to express that) but I’ve never seen that with Epel? Epel doesn’t say anything bad about Sebek (from what I remember) he’s always pretty neutral when it comes to Sebek and doesn’t really talk bad about him the way others do. He’s kinda just like “oh. That’s Sebek. He is. Talking about malleus.” Maybe even sometimes like “he’s a bit strange but whatever :)” AND THATS JUST SOOOO ARHFHFHHFHFHF TO ME LIKE SAUSUDHDHJSAISUHSHSJ SOBBING CRYING

Okay so this is where I start yapping EVEN MORE. Basically I just talk about how I personally view their relationship and what it would be like pre-relationship and during relationship. I’m putting this here bc it’s long and I don’t want to make anyone feel obligated to read all of this.

UGH SORRY I JUST TALK SO MUCH. I didn’t mean to make it this long but I just love them SO MUCH. To me they’re a very loving and caring relationship…. Sebek is neurodivergent and Epel isn’t but even still I like to think that Epel tries so very hard to make Sebek happy and like let him know he’s cared for and loved. BUT EVEN WITH ALL OF THEIR WHOLESOME PATIENCE AND I GUESS “MATURITY” THEYRE STILL JUST SILLY TEENS AND YEAH AUGHGHFH. They are SUCH a power couple to me!!!! Like “hell yeah that’s my bf!!!!” And they get so super silly together!!!! They goof around and act ‘cringey’ and hype each other up!!!!

Idk in my head it’s just. They make it work. They are overall healthy to me and hehehe they’re the couple that stays together forever after highschool and everyone is like “WHAT?!?!??” But also not surprised (especially those close to them they’re like “yeah ofc”

I was trying to think of situations that like. That would be angsty or like. Smth. But. I really can’t see it with them? I can’t see them having like. Big serious fights. Maybe like silly play fights that get taken a bit seriously and end up hurting eachother, but, I also think they can end up solving those,, maybe a bit quick? Idk they just seem like the type to understand eachother. Or at least try their best.

Hmmm I think I guess sometimes they have moments when they don’t see eye to eye and they are stubborn and don’t agree,,,,, but again. I think they can get solved easily….

Like idk I guess I see them more having bursts of like “idk man :/“ but they easily go back to like “oh it’s okay :)”

I think on Sebek’s part there is insecurity that Epel will stop loving him because he finally has someone that CARES about him. That pays ATTENTION to him. And he’s so scared of losing that. He’s scared to be annoying he’s scared to be loud he’s scared to talk so much because he doesn’t want to lose Epel. That’s his friend. And eventually his boyfriend. He doesn’t want to loose this person that finally actually SEES him.

But, Epel is always there to reassure him that he will ALWAYS love him. He will always be there for him. Epel will always be there to support Sebek,,, and Epel is willing to learn ways to make him happy and comfortable. Epel will be patient….. and he will listen…..

OH NY GOD THIS ID GETTING SO LONG BUT SIGH OKAY.

I think pre-relationship, Sebek would be mic to Epel!! Bc like!! Wow!! This is such a cool guy!!! And Epel would be like “huh. Weird” at first because like “I don’t think Sebek is like this? Alex Fierro was my spirit animal the moment he/ she was introduced, a shape shifter with an attitude, but a genuine person. What you see is what you get. Magnus being instantly in love with her/ him was my reaction too, and Alex deserves someone as wholesome and special as Magnus Chase

Numb3rs, Oh it’s plenty serious, the show centers on their relationship a good chunk of the time and ends with their wedding and they’re so cute together in every scene. The episode where Amita is kidnapped, (Angels and Devils) still shocks and breaks my heart for Charlie every time I watch it.

Question  7. Out of all of your ships listed, which ship has the most chemistry?

Ugh, define chemistry?! I love all of these ships for the same reason in each, I love how they care for each other. In every ship I can identify one moment that makes my heart swell seeing them together in cannon and always puts a smile on my face.

If you mean chemistry as an explosion though, gun to my head forced answer, I pick Gallavitch

Ash and  Mary-Lynnette or Wolfstar, both have this soulmate eternal bond thing going for them where they can love other people but were meant to be together in every way and always find their way back

Question  9. How many times have you read/watched 10’s fandom?

A good dozen times in the past, but not recently. I read Nightworld in my teen years and quickly grew obsessed with the idea of soulmates, I already loved apocalypse end of the world type things plus supernatural themes, and it was the first ever reading the books fanfic I tried to do, but stopped for the same reason I haven’t reread it in a long time, the last book was never written! And at this rate probably never will be. I’m just still so smitten with every single soul mate in these nine books, Ash and  Mary-Lynette just rank number one of all of them

Question 10. Which ship has lasted the longest?

I’m not sure what answer it’s after here? In chronological years of the show, I think Gallavitch would win, despite being on and off so long they lasted years together and ended up together at the end. The show of these with the longest run time is also Shameless, so that one by default I guess, though FierroChase is immortal even having only three books, so they’d win long term?

If it’s asking which I’ve shipped the longest, Wolfstar, back when I first read PoA. I’ve read The Servant of Lord Voldemort more times than anybody can count and their scenes together cemented themselves as my first pairing as far back as I can remember before I was intentionally shipping anything, Remus and Sirius were always together from that moment on.

Question  11. How many times, if ever, has 6 broken up?

Well Korrasami was only confirmed off screen after the show ended, so none technically, but I don’t believe in perfect couples who never have a disagreement so realistically it’s bound to happen at least once in their happily ever after

Question  12. If the world was suddenly thrust into a zombie apocalypse, which ship would make it out alive, 2 or 8?

Wolfstar or Spitfire?

Depends on if magic is allowed in this zombie apocalypse. If Remus and Sirius are Muggles, sorry boys, Artemis and Wally (even in this totally human scenario where he’s not a speedster) Artemis would kick enough ass to save her boo to win

If they were all at their normal badass capacity? It’s a fair 50/50 shot for both. You’d have to do a Death Battle going over every iota of detail to pick a winner.

Question  13. Did 7 ever have to hide their relationship for any reason?

EBay sort of started as s secret so Bay wouldn’t hurt Daphne’s feelings, but after that no. In my head after the show, when Travis didn’t come home from Japan after the third time because of scheduling issues, Bay would have run back to Emmet and cheated on Travis to be together with him again and they would have hid that until it came out and she was back together with him. Not a nice, neat ending, but what I think would have inevitably happened.

Question  14. Is 4 still together?

Gallavich is a Yes! Married! Thinking about kids! (Like Yevginny doesn't exist and is never mentioned again? Which the show ignores but not the point!)

Question  15. Is 10 canon?

Ash and Mary-Lynette are sort of, yes, mostly absolutely, though not currently together do to personal reason the characters are working through :(

Question  16. If all ten ships were put into a couple’s Hunger Games, which couple would win?

Ugh, way to many factors to consider with the varying degrees of powers going on in some of these. 

If they were all human, again I like Artemis Crock’s chances of survival since she is already human and badass in a world of superhero's and basically another set of Katniss and Peta going on here.

Kilian has a decent chance of him and Emma winning for the same reason if you strip her Savior powers since they’re so resourceful as humans.  

Alex and Magnus are basically a parallel (sometimes gender swapped) Peta and Katniss too on the scale going on here so they’d be scary contenders without their enerji boost.

Micky and Ian might have never had to survive outside the south side, but Ian’s got some minor military training and Micky’s just a terrifying brutal person with a blessed heart, so another insane match to beat. Those are my top four at minimum. 

Question  17. Has anybody ever tried to sabotage 5’s ship?

Nomi’s own parents! And Whispers can burn in hell where he belongs!

Question  18. Which ship would you defend to the death and beyond?

All. Of. Them. I have limited obsessions and you cannot fight me on their existence. The order that I go through each fandom is above.

Gotta be honest, the merch angle is a smart move even though....it really does send a wrong message. How do you get money? You make what the fans want, you make something appealing. All that Blitz/Stolas merch? Is appealing to certain fans and they will pay out the nose to get it.

They wouldn't make merch of Blitz or Stolas treating eachother horrible, because it's not appealing. Even if it does seem to send the wrong message, money....it's all...about MONEY.

In all honesty, with how the show is going, I don't see a happy ending in any kind of capacity, or at best it'll seem....kinda forced with what we have seen in the show. I've seen people say "oh the merch shows what's gonna happen"

But like....no? At best a possibility? Maybe? But for all we know, the merch is just that...merchandise to sell and to make a profit, sometimes...that's all it is.

I can definitely understand that, the fans DO want to see Stolitz, so it makes sense on why the crew continues to do it, I just don’t think it’s a good idea to make merch of Blitz with Stolas at all, even if it’s something the fans want to see. If you’re trying to prove how toxic a ship is, but at the same time make merch for the fans, that kinda proves that you don’t care about the serious themes you’re trying to appeal and only care about the money. I’m certainly not against making merch of the characters themselves, but when it comes to the ship, not really. This is sort of the same issue with Valentino from Hazbin. They portray him as an abusive rapist, but at the same time make merch of the character and it comes off as romanticizing and even childish for a show that tries to prove to everyone they’re deep and know how to portray serious subject matter. This is just MY personal opinion, y’all can disagree with me if you’d like. But anyway, you’re right, at the end of the day it is just merch, though it certainly doesn’t help that the crewmembers who do fanart portray Stolitz as wholesome, and let’s not forget the one member that literally ships Val and Angel and Vox together ugh. But again, it’s just merch, it all matters on how it’s portrayed in the show. Still, it all rubs me off the wrong way wether they’re doing it to gain profit or not.

1. THE LAST TWO EPISODES WERE SO GOOD. I WISH WE HAD EXPLORED HAE YI’S STRUGGLE AND EXPAND ON THE LAST ARC MORE INSTEAD OF FOCUSING ON THE LOVE TRIANGLE (OR EVEN THE STUPID MURDER MYSTERY). It was so wholesome and realistic. We always knew that joining the team and dating were something that Haeyi couldn’t afford, we had one episode on her choosing to do it all to make herself happy for once. It was so intriguing and I could see it happening in real life. It could really be a deep meaningful story to explore, but we only got one episode of it?! 

People literally almost dropped the show when it focused on the stupid love triangle and sunho’s very insistent, and super annoying attempt to get Haeyi. If they had this arc in the pocket they should have made it their main issue on the climax of the show (around ep 12). 

2. Park Jung Woo is probably my most favorite male lead ever in a romantic comedy drama. He isn’t just achingly soft and is a really good boyfriend, but he is so dorky, uncool, but also very confident and firm which makes him also very cool at the same time? He’s mature, considerate, and for once, we have a male lead that isn’t snobbish or entitled. He’s not perfect but he’s always trying his best for those he loves.  The guy literally looks so hot and commanding while wearing that tacky costume and doing all those cheering. It’s amazing. 

3. Do Hae Yi is amazing. She deserves all the love she gets. She is such a positive person, very strong and tough in the midst of all the problems, she is in touch with her feelings, and she is driven by love. My most favorite part of her is that she can be realistic about life, while still having dreams and acting out of whims for adventure. The hardship of life doesn’t bring her down. It just makes her stronger. My girl deserves all the love in the world. That being said, she wasn’t the best girlfriend lmao it was frustating enough to see her being confused of her feelings for two episodes (when she wasn’t confused at all for all 9 episode prior), and then having to watch her still putting jungwoo as the second priority again. I still love them together but ugh that was just annoying to watch. 

4. Jung Woo and Hae Yi together are very cute. Especially when they are not being interrupted or disturbed by others. Like... all of their scenes are so cringey but also so realistic with the way both of them being shy and all. Those scenes are so cute damn it I kept giggling like a child. I swear they’re both so whipped for each other. I was a bit worried though, because I think what made me fall in love with this ship in the first place was how they were able to comfortably make fun of each other and have meaningful conversations. As much as I love those cute scenes, somehow I felt like we didn’t get enough conversation between them again in the later half. 

5. I wish we had explored more about the cheering team outside of the murder mystery and love triangle ffs (I know I keep repeating myself but ugh they really wasted so much potential). Give me more cho hee, give me more woon chan, give me more so yoon. Give me more about the politics of the clubs in the campus. Give me more fun trainings and events planning. Give me kids balancing between academic and extracurricular life, just give me campus life?! These writers had so much potential to explore but they chose to explore the wrong things. I still couldn’t even bring myself to care about sunho’s mother honestly. 

6.  I am so curious of how Jungwoo was like when he dated Hajin. How did they even date? Who made the move? How was it like between a dorky guy and super cool girl? 

7. It was so funny that even until the very last scene, sunho was still interrupting Haeyi and Jungwoo lmao, it was sooo funny that I wasn’t even annoyed. He became more likeable in the last episode though. 

8. It was my first time watching Han Ji Hyun and Bae In Hyuk, but I’ll be sure to watch whatever their next projects are. Jang Gyuri also stole my heart with that smile!

9. The ost for this drama is really good! And apparently I love Haeyi and Jungwoo so much that just listening to the intro of Peppertones - Denneb is enough to make me smile now. 

10. I wish we could have one last final Theia’s performance. It’s one of the things that made me fall in love with the drama in the first place. 

All in all, Cheer Up had all the potential to be the best light, youth romantic comedy kdrama this year but they blew their chance with the writing. However, the characters are all so dear in my heart that even if I would never nominate them for the best drama award, I’ll still consider this drama one of my personal favorite. The writers messed up a lot, but they did really well when they wrote Jungwoo and Haeyi’s characters and relationship together.

Personal Opinion: Quite possibly my most favorite manga of all time. I own a lot of Tagame’s works so I’ve always been a big fan of his art style. To see it in a mainstream book all about educating people on queer folks? That is just chef’s kiss perfection. It’s wholesome, it’s intelligent, it’s refreshing, and it will break and fix your heart over and over again. Please purchase a copy for yourself.

Do I Own These Books? Yes! I own both volumes and I even have the first volume signed by Tagame himself!

Spoilers Below For My Likes & Dislikes:

Likes:

- First and foremost, the art style. I personally love it. And not just because of the details of Yaichi’s and Mike’s muscles when they’re bathing. No, I just adore all of their character designs and the vibes they give off. Yaichi is a single dad who is a bit unsure of himself, I can see that in how he stands in volume 1′s cover. Kana is a precocious child but a child nonetheless, I see that in how she stands in volume 1′s cover. Mike is Mike. I see that in, well, you know already. 

- Kana is the most adorable thing. She has a very pure view of the world that was unaffected by her father’s bigoted views because he never taught them to her. And it is mainly through her that Yaichi, her father, begins to understand queer folks better. When she says she doesn’t get why gay people can’t marry, he pauses and rethinks his position. It’s adorable and inspiring witnessing a parent learn from their child and being open to learning from them too. 

- That’s the thing I love most about these books. Yaichi has a lot of bigoted and narrow-minded opinions concerning his brother’s sexuality. But a lot of that is because he was never educated on it. After Ryoji tragically passed away and Mike came into his life, he realized it wasn’t too late to learn more about his estranged brother. Because here was someone still connected to Ryoji and probably knew him better than most people. Mike taught Yaichi a lot and Yaichi was open to learning. He kept his bigoted thoughts to himself, never actually voicing them out, and instead took in everything Mike told him and grew from it. By volume 2, Yaichi was even prepared himself to tell people about his brother’s husband from overseas and how it’s perfectly normal.

- Mike is just a giant teddy bear and I find him to be adorable and hot. Mainly though, I just like him for being such a big-hearted fellow. He’s proud of himself, he’s open about his sexuality, he’s curious but respectful of the culture around him. He’s the ideal man in my opinion. And I just love the role he took up as the jolly uncle in Kana’s life. They were so wholesome playing together in basically every chapter. Ugh, my heart still breaks for Kana when Mike had to go back to Canada. She loved him so much.

- Speaking of Mike being open about his sexuality, it’s a little hard to see (for my color blind eyes anyway) but his shirt on the covers include a pink triangle. It was once a badge of shame employed by Nazis to identify LGBTQ+ people but was later reclaimed to be a symbol of pride. Mike knows this and that’s why he wears that shirt and that’s why I love him so much. Yes, know your history Mike!

- Kana’s mother, Natsuki, and Yaichi are divorced. But they maintain a healthy and friendly relationship. I fucking love that. They acknowledge that they were a bad match when they were married and that they’re better as individuals and as Kana’s parents when they’re separated and I find that to be so wholesome. But I also just love that Natsuki was so open-minded about Mike herself when she met him. These four characters all together make such an adorable family unit.  

Dislikes:

- Yaichi admits his mistakes and homophobic outbursts were wrong but damn did I cringe at some of the things he thought. The story is mainly about his growth though so I’ll give it a pass.

- There’s honestly nothing I really dislike about this story. Everyone should go purchase a copy for themselves.

OKAY SO I’VE BEEN MIA BC I JUST FINISHED GRAD SCHOOL AND I DIDN’T HAVE TIME TO READ THE LAST SEVERAL CHAPTERS. I’M BACK AND HOLY SHIIIIIIIIT BRO. 

Okay I’m only going to go into ch 14 for all our sakes lmao. Having Neymar come with Ky to pick Taylor up from the airport is everything that healed my little heart. I know I’ve said it before, but her relationship with Ney is just the most wholesome and I love it. “Man, just kiss already. You can cut the tension with a knife.” She laughed, embarrassed at herself and leaned on Kylian’s shoulder, hiding herself. Like this encapsulates everything I love about this trio. The safety they both feel in being open in front of Ney is just **chefs kiss** to me. Surprising her with Leo, Ramos, and Kimpembe has me squealing like a child, but the real star of the show is Taylor’s reunion with Luna. My god I love this kitty. 

The conversation between her and Verratti was perfectly awkward. Like we know he feels bad about how everything went down and like…he absolutely should and I love that Taylor made him squirm a bit. It’s exactly why I love Taylor as a character-her stubbornness and intensity is both her gift and downfall, but god when she uses it for her benefit it just makes me so happy. 

“What about short term?” he mumbled to her lips, giving it a light bite.“You” she said in a quick breath

OKAY RIP ME WOW. 

I’m conflicted about Galtier’s offer with the youth league. Because on one hand, I love that it would allow her to stay coaching in a sense, be close to Kylian and the rest of the boys, but I also remember how much she hated the whole system of how players are treated. “You can hep us build the foundations” like homie that’s not how this works….but okay. TYPICAL KY GETTING IN HIS HEAD THAT SHE DOESN’T CARE ABOUT HIM. CHRIST ON A STICK KYLIAN GET YOUR HEAD OUT OF YOUR ASS. Their argument in the car is easily my favorite bit of writing thus far. It’s so fucking hilarious and on brand for the two of them to confess these big emotions while arguing like this and all while Taylors driving for the first time here lmao. 

“I did not make a pause! My lips are still moving—you cut me off—and for you information it’s the kind of logic that I can find other teams like psg, psg is replaceable—you are not!” she stopped the car abruptly in front of a red light, Kylian moving a little forward. Silence. Just the car sounds filling the emptiness. He looked at her in awe, he wanted to kiss her right there and then.

Like I’m sorry WHAT!!! OW MY HEART I LOVE IT. “psg is replaceable-you are not!” That just causes me goosebumps because it really shows the depth of her feelings. 

They’re finally happy. Like finally. I’m glad she took the job, but I worry that her reservations from the past assistant coach job will resurface and she’ll be unhappy again. ugh. 

Him referring to her has his girlfriend for the first time…oof. She’s better than me because I’m pretty sure my brain would short circuit and an Error 404 message would just pop up lmao. Like they were building new routines together that weren’t involving only their bodies but their hearts too. Domestic fluff like this shit is what I liiiiiiiive for. 

(K about to get sentimental and shit for a sec) Kylian speaking to the medics about her condition…this hit home. As someone who lives with a chronic illness that affects literally every aspect of how I’m supposed to live my life I really connect with Taylor in this capacity. It’s so hard to explain a version of life that is so drastically different than what is considered “normal” to others. I’m sure Kylian is wildly frustrated by her lack of sharing, but when you historically have to be the only one you yourself can rely on for shit, it’s hard to share that burden onto someone else…especially if you love them because you never want to give your shit to someone else. But that’s what she does. That quick little peck and “good to know you want to share it” from Kylian may have seem like such a throw away moment, but as someone who’s lived Taylors experience with this, it means everything. (K done with gross feelings now MOVING ON)

Of course I knew you were going to write Ney getting hurt…but god fucking dammit it hurts. Ney really feels like her family. Her brother. And hearing both Ky and Ney say “I’m tired” in the context they are saying it, I just know it’s breaking her heart. It’s back to the reason she hated the higher ups in the coaching gig again. No respect for the players. But I fear this will  just add fuel to her flame hatred of how these players are being treated. 

“He’s gonna need you.” “I know.” Neymessi going strong. 

Ooooooooooooh apartment conversations happening….I was wondering if I missed the memo of them officially living together but here we go lol. 

AGH HER GRIPE WITH COACHING STAFF COMES UP AGAIN. Taylor thank god you’re telling him the legit ruth and not sugar coating shit….where’s Taylor in real life because homeboy needs to hear this shit. AND SHE’S DONE WITH PSG. I FUCKING KNEW IT. DID I NOT CALL THIS. OH GOD BUT WHAT DOES THAT MEAN FOR THEM?! OH NOOOOO. 

Awwww the key. The keeeeyyyyy. 

The conversation between Ky and Leo is perfect. Truly no notes. We love Uncle Leo in this house. “That part had it’s pleasure, but you can break records anywhere Kylian.” He shrugged, scratching the back of his head “it’s who you break them with that makes it special.”  I feel like this is then counterintuitive to the dilemma…idk yet I haven’t fully formed that thought yet. 

LILY IS THERE. OH MY GOD TAYLOR AND BETH. AHHHH. I love Ky and lily’s dynamic its so stinking cute. I can only imagine how that looked to the others though hahaha. Like some random little girl none of them have ever seen comes crashing into Kylian and he’s like so chill about it. I’m sure they thought he’s like lost his head or something hahaha. Oh interesting dynamic with Ethan and their dad. I’m intimidated by him. Did not expect him to extend that invitation to Taylor and her family…is this just me being suspicious? I’m not fully trusting it yet…

….british phone number….her leaving the youth league job….CHELSEA?! 😳

Okay that’s what I’ve got. God I’ve missed reading this fic and I’ve loved catching up with the past few chapters. Still the best fic I’ve ever read, hand to god. Mkay thats all ILYSM 😘
