Who the fuck thinks great big nasty border walls and barriers are a good idea?!
That shit doesn’t work!
It has never worked!
Oh but no, apparently they need it to curb “iLLEGaL iMMigraTiOn” and “TErroRism¡”. Fuck off!
Oh PIFFLE!!!!
Get in the bin with that fearmongering, siege mentality BULLSHIT!!!
I’ll include an example or two.
Tumblr media
The Berlin Wall?
Remember that old thing.
Yeah.
Tumblr media
It didn’t work!
Went to complete shit! (With a little help from David Hasselhoff)
Tumblr media
Or this shit what the British put up after splitting my own country in half?!
Yeah.
GONE!
Torn down!
Now I’m aware that certain circumstances may require the creation of such installations like demilitarised areas, buffer zones and so on.
Tumblr media
Like the UN Buffer Zone in Cyprus.
But those are in extremely rare and particular circumstances!

The Duke of Kent served as a regular officer for 22 years in the British Army after passing out of Sandhurst in 1955 into the Royal Scots Greys.
Prince Edward served as part of a UN peacekeeping force in Cyprus, and the UNFICYP medal is the first of his impressive medal collection. In the final years of his career, The Duke also served in Northern Ireland, a deployment from which he had to be brought home as the IRA planned to kidnap him.
Whilst he never served with the regiment, Prince Edward was appointed Colonel of the Scots Guards in 1974, and he is the longest-served royal colonel of a Household Division regiment in history.
In the above photograph, The Duke of Kent is wearing the uniform of Colonel of the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards. The Royal Scots Guards were amalgamated with two other regiments to form the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards, and The Duke is their Deputy Colonel-in-Chief.

Tensions surged between UN peacekeepers and Turkish Cypriot security personnel on Friday in Cyprus. The discord, as highlighted by the peacekeeping mission, was incited by unsanctioned construction in the buffer zone overseen by the United Nations.
Eyewitness videos unveiled UN peacekeepers being aggressively accosted by individuals in Turkish Cypriot police and military uniforms. These footages also displayed bulldozers relocating UN trucks, cement bollards, and barbed wire within the zone that separates the island. Based on UN accounts, friction escalated when international peacekeepers intervened to stop crews from building a road projected to impinge upon the UN buffer zone. This road is intended to link Arsos in the Turkish Cypriot north to Pyla in the Greek Cypriot south, where the island’s recognized government is headquartered. Footage procured by the media depicted a considerable number of Turkish Cypriots confronting a smaller contingent of Slovak and British UN soldiers. As these peacekeepers formed a barrier, some faced direct physical assault, including blows to the face. Three soldiers sustained minor injuries, as confirmed by the UN. In a statement, the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP) vehemently condemned the violence against its peacekeepers and the damage to UN assets by the Turkish Cypriot side. The incident, occurring near Pyla within the buffer zone, saw peacekeepers curbing the unauthorized construction. UNFICYP underscored that threats to their peacekeepers and property damage are serious breaches of international law. Conclusively, UNFICYP urged the Turkish Cypriot side to respect the mission’s mandate, calling for an immediate retreat of all personnel and equipment from the buffer zone, reaffirming their commitment to maintaining stability in the area.

If the U.N. Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP) does not make an agreement with Turkish Cyprus within a month, it will have to withdraw from its two camps on the north side, the country’s top diplomat has said.
“The hospitality is over, either they sign a military agreement with Turkish Cyprus or they withdraw from it,” Turkish Cypriot Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu told daily Hürriyet[...]
If the answer is negative, the Turkish side “will never shy away from the steps it needs to take,” he said.

The ARW ( acronym of "Army Ranger Wing", Sciathán Fianóglach an Airm, "SFA" in Irish) is the special operations force of the Irish Defence Forces. It was born on 16th March 1980 with the primary role of counter terrorism and evolved to both special operations and counter terrorism roles from 2000 after the end of conflict in Northern Ireland. Their HQ is based in Curragh Camp, County Kildare and in 2015 White Paper on Defence announced that the strength of the ARW would be considerably increased due to operational requirements at home and overseas. The size of this unit is classified and their roles are counter-terrorism, special operations, direct action, counterinsurgency and special reconnaissance. Their motto says: "Glaine ár gcroí, Neart ár ngéag, agus beart de réir ár mbriathar", that means "The cleanliness of our hearts, The strength of our limbs, and our commitment to our promise". Their colours are black, red and gold and they operated in the following missions: UNOSOM II; INTERFET; UNPROFOR; UNFICYP; UNIFIL; MINURSO; UNMIL; MINURCAT; MINUSMA.
