Biomedical visualization studio Visual Science has created the most detailed and scientifically accurate 3D model of the SARS-CoV-2 virus at atomic resolution. The model is based on the latest scientific research into the structure of coronaviruses, as well as input from expert virologists involved in the research. This is the most accurate model of the SARS-CoV-2 viral particle currently available. To produce it, Visual Science employed the same techniques of structural bioinformatics used in basic research and drug development.

The SARS-CoV-2 virus model is a part of Visual Science's non-commercial Viral Park project. Viral Park's past successes include models of HIV, influenza A/H1N1, Ebola, papilloma, and Zika virions.

We use the same color scheme throughout the whole Viral Park project. Bright colors show the proteins encoded by the viral genome. Shades of gray correspond to the structures taken by virus from the host cell. Thus we emphasize the parasitic and non-autonomous nature of the viruses.

La insuficiencia cardíaca es la incapacidad del corazón para bombear suficiente sangre para satisfacer las necesidades de los órganos del cuerpo. La función del corazón es bombear sangre para mantener la sangre circulando. El lado izquierdo del corazón toma sangre rica en oxígeno y la empuja hacia el cuerpo. El lado derecho del corazón toma sangre pobre en oxígeno del cuerpo y la empuja hacia los pulmones, donde se llena de oxígeno. Si cualquiera de los lados del corazón no funciona como debería, puede desarrollar insuficiencia cardíaca. ⠀ ⠀ Causas Cualquier condición que debilite el músculo cardíaco puede causar insuficiencia cardíaca. El suministro inadecuado de sangre al músculo cardíaco debido a la aterosclerosis es una causa común. Entonces, es un ataque cardíaco, porque mata parte del músculo cardíaco. La hipertensión arterial no tratada puede obligar al corazón a trabajar demasiado y debilitarlo. Las infecciones virales pueden debilitar el músculo cardíaco. También pueden ciertas enfermedades que conducen a que se depositen sustancias tóxicas en el corazón. Las válvulas cardíacas con fugas o bloqueadas también pueden provocar insuficiencia cardíaca. El consumo excesivo de alcohol también es una causa de insuficiencia cardíaca. ⠀ ⠀ Síntomas Los síntomas más comunes son dificultad para respirar, cansancio, latidos cardíacos rápidos, hinchazón de piernas y pies y aumento rápido de peso por la retención de líquidos. La insuficiencia cardíaca también puede causar palpitaciones, aturdimiento y desmayo cuando causa ritmos cardíacos irregulares. ⠀ Diagnóstico Los síntomas combinados con un examen físico son las formas habituales en que se sospecha insuficiencia cardíaca. Cuando el médico escucha sus pulmones y corazón, ciertos sonidos son pistas de insuficiencia cardíaca. The first in a continuing series of work based on my watercolour studies. As an artist I'm looking at the fields of science, mathematics and biology and finding the duality in theories that apply to themes of growth, behavior, emotions commonly experienced personally as well as within global context. I'm using expressive abstraction to visually translate the research and emotions of personal and societal themes into each piece. The is the first series which uses paper collage for the execution.
