tbh i think that even unwinnable fights should be winnable. some of the BEST fights i've ever run as a dm were ones i built kill the players (in a fun way. I had some cutscenes prepped so even the loss would be a different flavour of win)- but then they were clever bastards and managed to either win the fights or pull themselves out of trouble. I think it's perfectly fine to plan for a fight that players aren't supposed to win, but you need to let them. if they can't win, they can't lose, and the meaning of that encounter is diminished. do that too many times, and they stop trusting you to give them roleplay prompts and start expecting to sit there waiting while you drive the story for them.

but if they can win... if there is always the chance to win, no matter how impossible the odds, then they ALWAYS have hope. they always get invested. they feel the big emotions of success or the big emotions of failure, and you fucking Win as a dm/roleplay prompter/lead bastard.

I’ve been suspecting the admins were trying to stage an egg death since the first fight where sunny and em didn’t immediately teleport and wow okay i think it really speaks to all of the streamers’ devotion and skill that this is what it took to finally get past their defenses

It’s unfortunate that in the end the immersion was kind of broken by how far the admins had to ramp up the difficulty but yeah an egg death has probably been planned/attempted for several weeks at this point

it ended up being pretty scuffed lmao but i think it was cool of the admins to have taken note of all the times Etoiles and Philza were screaming at the sky, chomping at the bit for a "1v1" against the code monster and being like "if it shows up, you and me, we fight together" and do their absolute best to give them a dramatic and emotional arena showdown where everyone else would have been forced to watch from the outside

I love how when we first met Pomme, she was this cute little thing that everyone wanted to protect, she was named Pomme (apple) because she was sweet and delicate, she is one of the Newest kids in the Island the youngest, and the most vulnerable one. everyone had wanted her to always stay that sweet. but everyone knows they cant.

Over the span of months, Pomme has grown to be a fearsome and brave warrior, her parents and family help her to become reliable, and dependable in dangerous situations, she can fight hoards of enemies for her own sake of survival and even help out her other siblings as well, because of the situation in the Island she can't just wait for other to come and save her, she need to protect herself and her loved ones

but it doesn't erase her sweet nature and loving personality, her Parents and family help her to continue living, her life is not only for day-by-day survival but also for enjoyment as well, like the rest of the kids on the Island, she likes to collect mobs for her own collections even the dangerous ones, she enjoys painting, love traveling and discovering new things.

the same thing can be said with the rest of the Kids on this island. they all have that unique personality that makes them shine but they are not helpless, these kids can and will fight for their future. and I hope this new Island can be kinder to them unlike the previous one

While I do think that Tubbo was a bit over the top today in regards to making light of the lore, I think it’s mainly because he’s tired of this arc and how there isn’t a roleplayable response unless the eye workers permit there to be. It’s frustrating on a viewer and player level for sure.

Does that mean he had to be over the top? No, but I do think its good to keep in mind that Mike also was messing around during the lore today and in the dapper kidnapping stream, Phil did not give a shit that dapper was downed and kidnapped even after being told he was. I can find Tubbo making jokes at the eye workers funny and someone else can find it annoying, I personally had a problem when he kept speaking over Bagi today, he’s a human who does annoying things that I don’t like sometimes.

I think we all get a bit too defensive of our favs (absolutely guilty) and forget that we find other people doing the same thing annoying too. People can respond to lore however they want, especially when it’s impromptu lore like today.

We don’t have to be up in arms about everything and you don’t have to hate on someone for acting how another person acted in the past. Streamers do things we don’t like sometime because (surprisingly) they’re individuals! Who have their own reasons for doing the things they do. Sometimes it’s playing a certain game and sometimes it’s taking lore with a grain of salt. Maybe you like foolishs parenting style and hate Phil’s, that’s valid! Just remember that people can dislike foolishs parenting style too!

TLDR: it’s okay to critique tubbo for how he chose to interact with the lore today or how he interacts with sunny so long as you are okay with people saying the same thing about your streamer
