'Doctor Who star David Tennant has managed to inadvertently raise thousands of pounds for LGBTQ+ charity the Albert Kennedy Trust (AKT) by wearing a TARDIS pin in the colours of the trans Pride flag.
Tennant appeared on sketch show The Last Leg on Friday (17 November) and The One Show last night (20 November), to discuss his return as the Doctor for the upcoming Doctor Who 60th anniversary specials.
On both programmes, he donned a small pin badge shaped like the Doctor’s spacecraft, the TARDIS, in blue, white and pink – the trans Pride flag colours.
The creator of the badge, Dr Jamie Gallagher, has since shared on social media that all profits raised from purchases of it will be donated to charity AKT, which supports homeless LGBTQ+ people in the UK.
Hours before Tennant’s appearance on The One Show, Gallagher updated their followers to announce that more than £18,000 had been raised for the charity.
“Thank you beautiful humans. That will make a huge difference to LGBTQ+ people living with homelessness this winter,” Gallagher shared, adding that their website was “blowing up” with people trying to order the TARDIS Pride pins.
Tennant’s wife, actress Georgia Tennant, has also promoted the badges on her social media.
In recent months, the Tennants have become staunch trans allies, as one of their children is reportedly non-binary.
David Tennant has been spotted on TV numerous time wearing a range of trans and non-binary pin badges, including one which read: “You are safe with me”.
In July, he was spotted wearing a “leave trans kids alone” t-shirt while promoting his Prime Video series, Good Omens.
The t-shirt drew fierce backlash from anti-trans campaigners, most notably from The IT Crowd creator Graham Lineham – who suggested that Tennant was an “abusive groomer” for his support of trans children. Lineham was later reportedly dropped by his TV agent, who also represented Tennant, over his comments.
To mark Pride month in June, Tennant appeared on the Reasons To Be Cheerful podcast, urging that while the community can’t “expect that we will always travel in the right direction towards acceptance,” everyone should be “fighting that fight every day”.
David Tennant will make his much-anticipated Doctor Who return this Saturday, 25 November, as part of the queerest series yet, with LGBTQ+ icons Ncuti Gatwa, Yasmin Finney, Miriam Margoyles and Neil Patrick Harris also starring.'

I want to be able to go to queer events in london without fear of seeing my abusers
but this terribly run, for profit, UK white gay charity that kicked me and 4 other homeless queers out of their 'safehouse'
are at every single event begging for money
I keep seeing my abusers, the ones who used to come into my room unannounced
the ones who used to call the police on us often and threaten to (for qpoc that is literally deadly)
but when we 'revolted' by mentioning in the whatsapp chat that our rights matter too
they kicked us all out in one fell swoop
nobody cared if a bunch of queer people of colour didn't have anywhere to stay
as long as AKT charity are keeping their pockets lined with queer poc money and govt funding meant for black and brown lgbtqia+ people to stay safe, fed, housed
and most of all we just needed taken care of
did it really even matter? to anyone but me
THE LACK OF SAFETY IN THAT SAFEHOUSE WAS CRIMINAL AND THE ONES WHO MADE IT THAT WAY ARE BEING CELEBRATED AND PARADED AROUND EVERY QUEER EVENT IN THE UK
I feel sick I want to say something but it feels like alone I am not powerful enough
my words alone will be used against me I need safety, corroboration and therapy, those that experienced it with me need the same
sorry nobody cares about me or this in real life so I have to give my feelings space on the internet, anyway
AKT CHARITY IS RACIST. THEY HAVE EVEN BEEN TAKEN TO COURT FOR IT BUT THEIR LACK OF ACCOUNTABILITY IS SO HARMFUL. STOP FUNDING RACISTS.

Hey reminder this pride that there are so many LGBTQ+ charities and not just the Trevor Project or Stonewall. I'm not saying they're bad but there are loads of others that need donations for specific queer goals.
If you live in England, I really recommend the Albert Kennedy Trust (AKT). They raise funds for homeless queer youth through fundraisers and sponsored sleep-outs because LGBTQ+ people are disproportionately represented in homeless statistics. They also focus on intersectinality, for example they have a lot of resources specifically related to autism.
There are so many and I recommend doing your own research to look at ones near you if you want to donate to a queer charity. Happy pride!

RE BOYS & DOING IT PUBLIC .
Tumblr media
characters | Albert Wesker, Chris Redfield, Leon S. Kennedy, Carlos Oliveira
GN!Reader
I’m dodging the shit out of the actual terms, so take “it”, “needs”, and “bedroom activities” lol. also will be doing the requests i received after this <3
smutty content, mentions of public sex, some acts are described .
18+ Content Below . Minors, I ask that you do not interact .
ALBERT WESKER .
Tumblr media
He’s not going to just engage in indulging your needs wherever, nor will he indulge in his anywhere. He’s a man who can be just a smidge picky when it comes to bedroom activities. Totally just a “smidge”.
That’s not to say the idea of fucking in public isn’t somewhat appealing to him. No, no, in fact, he’s thought about it after you’ve brought it up and he’s amused with the idea – especially when he thinks of the risk as letting others know you’re his and his alone.
Wesker’s going to be selective with locations and he’s bound to say no to most places but there’s one he’ll always say yes to – if he’s not the one suggesting it.
His office during work hours.
Wesker’s office is the first thing he thinks of. The enclosed space with blinds and a lock on his door, his S.T.A.R.S members just on the other side. It’s perfect. And if you fail to keep quiet, any Alpha member that knocked on his door understood fairly quickly that he was not to be disturbed – not until you sheepishly left his office, looking a little more rattled than when you arrived.
Obviously, in such a position, he prefers to have you pressed against his desk as he snaps his hips into you or you cockwarming him as he does some of his tedious paperwork.
CHRIS REDFIELD .
Tumblr media
Not one too open to the idea. Fucking you in public? One, that’s risky, what if someone stumbles upon you two? Two, he prefers the bedroom, where he’s not on the verge of a heart attack, worrying someone’ll overhear.
But he’d agree to it eventually. It’d require a lot of trust in you, a lot of research and information to agree — also, probably a turn-on. Maybe something akin to seeing a sensual scene at the movies, or seeing you try on a revealing fit at a store, or maybe you just tease him in public.
He’ll let you know he’s riled up by hugging you from behind, making sure his semi is pressed firmly against your rear. He’ll pepper the back of your neck with kisses while his hand squeezes your side, just so the close hug didn’t seem too weird to passersby.
He’s willing to do it in closets or dressing rooms, open to maybe a washroom stall, but an absolute no is his workplace. He’s got to keep it professional there. Also, he knows way too many people there, the risk is far too embarrassing for him to even get hard — if you were caught, he’d never hear the end of it from his team and colleagues.
LEON S. KENNEDY .
Tumblr media
If we’re talking RE2 Leon, I feel like he’d have thoughts about it but wouldn’t be able to do it. He’d be too embarrassed and his heart would practically implode if he tried. Don’t worry, he’ll show clear interest. Little too under-confident to actually do it, basically.
But after RE2, he’d be open to do it, having gained just a little more confidence in the bedroom. It’s an almost instant yes when you bring it up. Hell, he’d do it right there if you mention the idea in public.
Mostly though, he’ll keep it to just oral when it comes to fucking in public. Not going to lie, he’ll prefer receiving — he enjoys the view, plus, he knows he can keep quiet; you, not so much. But he also loves servicing you just as much— if not more. He will eat you out like a starving rabid dog, no matter the place.
Much prefers dressing rooms or gender-neutral bathrooms. He likes some space, not that he’d used much of it anyways, he’d be busy being all up in yours. After you guys tried a closet and Leon bumped into the shelves and had a bucket smack him in the head (followed by the matching mop), he decided he needed space to fuck you.
CARLOS OLIVEIRA .
Tumblr media
Absolutely into it. You don’t even finish bringing it up before he’s agreeing.
Honestly, you should’ve picked up the hints sooner. Naturally, he’s a very handsy person, but he gets even more touchy when out in public and clearly horny. He likes teasing you with  hushed words of what he’ll do to you, letting his hand get dangerously close to your rear and the occasional needy squeeze, all in public.
Will absolutely fuck you anywhere if you so please, just like… as long as there’s some sort of privacy. He loves you, but he’s not about to get arrested just because he couldn’t keep it in his pants. Closets, bathroom stalls, dressing rooms, in the car, maybe an elevator, doesn’t matter.
There are riskier places he’ll enjoy too. He’ll probably take you to the movies and sit the two of you all the way in the back, just to tease and play with you before silently fucking your brains out, with his hand clasped over your mouth just so you don’t let out any squeaks.
Additional risky places he’ll accept: hot tubs, concerts (decent cover), alleyways, and the woods.
reblogs are greatly appreciated <3

RE HC's: Attachment Style, Love Languages
(Keep in mind these are literally all HC's and if you disagree, it's not cannon so don't get your dick in a twist. This is literally just how I see the characters. Most are bisexual because… it just feels fitting to me. Idk. If you don't see a character here that you'd like me to do, please let me know.)
Characters in this Post: Rebecca Chambers, Billy Coen, Albert Wesker, Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine, Leon Kennedy, Claire Redfield, Ada Wong, and Carlos Oliveira. (if you'd like a character not mentioned here done, feel free to ask <3)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rebecca Chambers-
Sexuality: Bi/Demi-sexual
Zodiac: Virgo
Love Language: Becca definitely expresses her love through acts of service. She may not be all that great at expressing herself through words, and being busy with work allows her little time to be close to you in person. She will do little things like fold your clothes if they're still in the dryer, make your bed, do those chores you aren't looking forward to, and so much more. She loves the idea of helping make your life a little more easier. When it comes to being shown love however, Rebecca loves words of affirmation. She thrives best when you give her hella love and reassurance. Not being good with words, she admires how freely you can talk about your feelings for her. It literally lights up her soul.
Attachment Style: Despite a lot of the struggles Rebecca has been through, she's pretty secure in herself and the relationships she gets in. Even though she struggles with her words, she's super effective at communicating her feelings when it comes to issues. Rebecca is also really good at self-reflection and will work on herself in all the places she falters, to ensure you two have the most healthy dynamic. She's super trusting of you, and does not hesitate to give out reassurance if you ask.
Billy Coen-
Sexuality: Bisexual
Zodiac: Taurus
Love Language: Billy expresses his love through physical touch. Whether it be through gentle caresses or playful pokes and punches, he lovesss touching you in any way. He can't seem to keep his hands off of you. You go out, he will kick you playfully under the table, and in the morning he's the one to cling to you and not want you to get out of bed. Morning sex is a given with him. He loves to make you feel good, and he feels best when he's touching you. When it comes to being shown love, Billy is a big fan of quality time. He doesn't care what it is you're doing, he wants to be close. You have to go to the grocery store to do some mundane task, nothing makes him more excited than you inviting him to go. He especially loves when you take time off of work or other things to be with him. Knowing you took time out of your day and your life to make room for him makes his day.
Attachment Style: Billy hasn't had the best of luck in the relationship department, especially with his past, and it makes him weary of who to trust. He's got an anxious attachment style, and while he craves love he's also terrified it isn't genuine. Billy can be super clingy at points, and sometimes struggles when you don't seem to have time for him. He needs constant reassurance, that you're for him and only him. He realizes this about himself, and always makes sure to tell you before you start dating. When given reassurance, he is the happiest boy, and he will never tire of you showing him just how much you love him.
Albert Wesker-
Sexuality: Pansexual (this is actually not a stretch as his VA played him as a queer man Link
Zodiac: Aries
Love Language: Albert expresses his love through giving gifts. Bro is not good with words and not a fan of being touched. But if he's sees something that reminds him of you, he will absolutely get it. He will shower you in gifts. You mention needing a new set of pens to take notes, he's already half-way to the store, buying the specific ball-point or gel pens you require. Working late, he's stopping by your workplace with food from your favorite place. Have a favorite show or little obession, he will buy anything for you that relates to said thing. When it comes to being given love, Albert loves acts of service. When you do things for him, it makes his life a lot easier. Especially if it's something he's not looking forward to. Nothing impresses him more than you doing something for him, when he didn't even have to ask for it.
Attachment Style: Albert 1,000% has disorganized attachment. One minute you think he's absolutely into you, and the next he is running for the hills. He's terrified of rejection, but also craves acceptance. Albert sometimes completely shuts down and doesn't talk to you about his concerns with the relationship. A lot of the time, even he doesn't know why he's being distant. It doesn't seem to matter how good you treat him, he always has anxiety about your relationship, but if you're super patient with him he can be the most tender and loving soul you can have. Often the relationship may be confusing, and Albert doesn't really talk about his feelings. Sometimes, he can even be a little aggressive and lash out, but he always apologizes and begs for you to stay.
Chris Redfield-
Sexuality: Bisexual/Demiromantic (takes bro a lot to be romantically into you)
Zodiac: Scorpio
Love Language: Chris expresses his love through acts of service, man struggles with words like Wesker and physical touch can be too much for him sometimes. But occupying himself with things to do that'll make you happy is how he loves showing you his love. He can get physical every once in awhile, but he kinda does that with a lot of people, so it isn't exactly how he expresses his love. Doing things for you also allows him to express his love for you in a way that makes him feel comfortable. Like your coffee a certain way? Chris is working his ass off to make sure you get it. When it comes to being shown love Chris surprisingly likes words of affirmation. He can't speak for himself, so when you talk about how you feel it makes him weak. He wants more than anything to be able to speak the way you do, and that's why he appreciates when you do it so well. Using your words sometimes can be a bit much for him, and makes him want to pull away, but in the long run he does find comfort in them.
Attachment Style: Chris has an avoidant attachment style. He feels like he has to go through everything on his own, and if he isn't strong enough to do it by himself then it makes him feel weak. He can seem extremely emotionally closed off at points, which makes it difficult to communicate effectively with him. He has a bit of a negative mentality, that relationships aren't necessary and he does best on his own. Good luck getting him to talk about his feelings, because this man is closed up tighter than a shell. Most of his relationships have been in the casual/one-night stand area. Chris is the first to walk off during an argument, and can definitely hold a grudge. Being patient with him is pretty rewarding however, as he apologizes after awhile. This is very hard for him, but when he cares about you, he will try to better himself.
Jill Valentine-
Sexuality: Bi/Greysexual
Zodiac: Libra
Love Language: When it comes to expressing her love, Jill loves spending time with you. She will take breaks from work, and when she works from home she will seek you out in the house. Even if it's sitting in silence, she wants to be by your side. She's very dedicated to her job, so she can't think of a better way to show you how much she cares than to distance herself from work. She loves physical touch, and nothing makes her feel more appreciated than when you touch her. Especially on the thighs or arms. It drives her wild. Underneath that badass exterior, she's a cuddly bunny. When walking around in public, and you throw your arm around her shoulders, she never feels more loved and secure. Even if she knows she can take care of herself, having you around makes her feel secure and comfortable.
Attachment Style: Despite being a bit obsessive with Umbrella, Jill has a bit more of a secure attachment style. The most issues you may have is maybe not getting her full attention at times, but she will quickly rectify it if you point it out. She's effective at communicating her wants and needs and really appreciates when her partner does the same thing. Like Rebecca, she is also kind of patient, but she won't tolerate certain behavior past a point. If she's making a big effort, she expects you to do the same. She's super understanding of your traumas and past however, and will do her best to help you. She also encourages you not to be codependent and overall just wants you both to grow as people.
Leon Kennedy-
Sexuality: Bisexual (bro fucks a ton after RE2)
Zodiac: Leo
Love Language: Leon expresses his love through physical touch. Bro is so touch starved, he gets his cuddles in any time he can. Practically clinging to you like a koala. He loves running his hands through your hair and being big spoon to you. He covers you in kisses to, if the skin is exposed, he's going for it. Big fan of hickeys to, and loves marking you in easy to see spots. He also loves recieving love this way. When you hold his hand in public, he still gets little butterflies. Pressing yourself a little more into him, when you guys are sleeping, is the hottest thing you can do for him. Practically melts from it. He loves rougher touches to. Like you running your nails down his back or biting his lips when you kiss.
Attachment Style: Leon has an anxious attachment style, and is terrified of getting close to people. Like most of the RE men it seems. 😭 Probably cause he's seen so much death. When he does start getting close, he struggles to let go. He can be suffocating at points, with how much he wants to be around you. He wants to take every second in, because he's so paranoid about it being your last together. While Leon doesn't communicate his feelings verbally, you can easily read when things are off and after a bit of work he may reluctantly open a little. He's very hard to crack. Leon is very efficient at asking about your feelings however, and will gladly hear all of your problems. Somehow, despite not knowing how to fix his only problems, he always seems to have solutions for yours.
Claire Redfield-
Sexuality: Lesbian (cry about it)
Zodiac: Aquarius
Love Language: Claire is surprisingly great with words, and loves to show it. She expresses how she loves you through words of affirmation. She will tell you she loves you every single day, and she means it with all her heart. Claire is the type of partner to send you loving paragraphs before bed, and makes sure you get a goodmorning text every morning. She leaves sticky notes everywhere to when she thinks about it, with little things she loves about you. When it comes to being shown love however, Claire really enjoys quality time. Expressing that you want to actually spend time with her whenever you can means the world to her. Growing up with Chris, who's been very busy since she was a kid, she's always valued the little time she gets to spend with her loved ones.
Attachment Style: Claire learned a lot from Chris, which made her have the exact opposite attachment style as him. Being practically raised by him and having a good relationship with him, she's pretty secure in her attachments. Even when things get rough, she's always understanding and holds out hope. Claire has always been good at being self-sufficient, so she doesn't need to be around you 24/7 or hear from you constantly. Doubts don't really get a hold of her in your relationship, and she's super easy to connect and be vulnerable with. She'll even talk about her own personal experiences just to make you feel more comfortable.
Ada Wong-
Sexuality: Bisexual
Zodiac: Gemini
Love Language: Ada never explicitly states what or how she's feeling, she's very much a woman of action. This is why she expresses her love through physical touch. Though she's not entirely clingy with it. If you're around, it could be as simple as her feet across your lap, while you watch tv. When it comes to physical touch for her, it's not the soft little gently caresses you're used to. She likes to be rough, and she will not hesitate to pounce on you. When it comes to being shown love, Ada enjoys receiving gifts. Not being given things too frequently, it means the world to her when her partners comes to her with something they bought specifically because it reminded them of her. Hell, even if it's not something she quite understands or likes, she will try to play it cool while freaking out on the inside. Despite Ada's distant exterior, she's definitely an absolute softie.
Attachment Style: Girl has got disorganized attachment style, one hundo percent. She's hot and cold with anyone she's with, and you always second guess just how she feels about you. You convince yourself that it's part of the fun, and the second you start to distance yourself as well, she's showing right back up. Ada feels undeserving of a healthy relationship, so when she gets a good thing her first instinct is to flee. Being that she isn't entirely true to herself and is always putting up a mask, it's hard for her to make genuine connections. Ada is sick of the mask however, and is so desperately ready to let it drop and be loved. Once you have her, even if it feels like you don't, you're stuck with her. She will harass you for the rest of your life, and play it off as anything but an interest in you.
Carlos Oliveira-
Sexuality: Bisexual (he came out to me in character ai, so practically cannon)
Zodiac: Saggittarius
Love Language: Carlos loves spending time with his partner. When it comes to his work, he doesn't get a lot of free time, so the best way he expresses his love by using what little he does have with you. Hell, he'd take time off just to be with you. Despite being a massive flirt, when things get serious he isn't the best at expressing himself in a way that isn't lighthearted or teasing. So instead he shows it, by dropping everything just to be around you, if you so please. During his breaks, he stops by your workplace whether it be to give you a little kiss or something more. He checks up on you with facetime calls frequently, when he's away and can't stand when work pulls him away from you. When it comes to being shown love however, Carlos very much likes things to be physical. Anyone can say words, he knows this more than anyone being the huge flirty whore (affectionately) he is, but to actually act on these things sends his heart soaring. And not just sex, though Carlos is very fond of that aspect to, he's more into the careful and intimate touches. Being hugged from behind, soft kisses along his neck, you playing with his hair, he practically folds over it.
Attachment Style: Weirdly enough, Carlos is pretty secure in his attachments, though I think he's cautious about entering a committed relationship with someone. He doesn't just feel that kind of love with anyone, and when things do go beyond flirting and hook ups, you know you've got something special with him. Carlos might not be the best with words, but he's an amazing listener and will gladly listen to whatever possible issues that may arise between you two. Even if he struggles with how to put things into words, he tries his best to open up with you as well. Carlos's work has always kept him pretty occupied, so he's never really felt too wound up about being away from his partner or having to put some healthy distance between you to. If you can work with his pretty hectic schedule, he will gladly work with you. Carlos is also a super gentle lover when no one is looking. All his rough talk and flirts are definitely for show, and the second you start getting a little bit serious with him, he gets flustered.

hey so David Tennant wore a trans Tardis badge to a couple of recent interviews and people have been bombing the website they come from to buy them - so the bloke who's selling the badges has said all profits for the Tardis badge (which comes in the options above) are going to the Albert Kennedy Trust, a UK charity for homeless young lgbtq+ people - they're very out of stock now but if you want to preorder them (or check out their other nice badges) here's the site

Saved: Leon Kennedy x fem reader
Tumblr media
When you're saved by a cop called Leon Kennedy, he promises that he'll get you out of there.
gif creds: @gameplaydaily
Warnings: swearing, violence, sadness.
I finished the resident evil 2 remake yesterday and I love it!! I love Leon so much.
You are 20 in this btw, one year younger than Leon.
-----
It wakes you from your slumber. A large bang which rocks the building. The sleep still takes ahold of you, so as you slowly walk to the window to see what's happening, the sleep soon becomes non-existent. "What the hell..?" the next thing you do is quickly gather up any items necessary before leaving the room.
Trudging down the stairs and out the nearest exit you are met with screams- and then groans...unnatural groans. Surely that can't be human...right? Not even time to think on this you're pulled out of your thoughts by a *ding*, so with the phone you'd stuffed into your pocket, you quickly pull it out.
Once it's unlocked you tap on the message which is from one of your best friend's, Claire. The message seems to be typed quickly as it's not perfect, but what you read makes your stomach sink.
Claire: Can't explain what's happening but get to the police station. Will meet up with you when I can.
"What the hell is happening?" you question out loud while putting your phone away and looking around. The police station isn't far, only about a ten minute walk, but with all the shit that's happening, will you be able to get there in time?
You know you can't stay there, though. It's unsafe and you'll most likely die if you do, so the station seems to be your best bet. "Okay Claire." glancing at the apartment building, and then looking forward.
"I'm on my way."
-
Walking to the police station is a nightmare, to say the least. Those things practically surround the area, so you're forced to duck and weave in-between cars. At least you have a weapon to protect yourself if you're attacked, so that's good.
It's so weird to see the city in such ruins. Everything had been fine before you fell asleep, nothing like what was happening right now had been happening then. How can something like this happen so quickly? You do have a feeling the infamous Umbrella has something to do with this, as you know who they truly are.
Chris, your best friend and Claire's older brother, had nearly died on a mission. He'd been trapped in some mansion with a few other members of the s.t.a.r.s. team, and been forced to escape.
He'd told you everything, but one thing stuck with you. That was about umbrella, and how his captain, the man he'd served in the airforce with, the man he trusted had been apart of Umbrella all along. His name was Albert Wesker. He'd nearly killed Chris, Jill, and Barry, with this thing known as 'tyrant', but they'd thankfully escaped. So it's not a surprise if this is all umbrella's doing.
As you approach the station you notice how the lights that are usually on outside, have been switched off. That doesn't matter much to you, as the group of those things- zombies- are nearby eating someone.
Jesus
At least they're busy, right? As much as you feel bad for that person you know this is the only way to get inside. At least inside you'll be safe and you can clear your mind. "Hopefully Claire's inside." you mutter quietly as you crouch and then creep towards the building.
Groans get louder but you try and block the sounds out focusing on getting the hell inside. When you get close the sounds of them chewing nearly make you throw up but you refocus back in. Okay, it's right there. just within reach. Now if you can just get inside without getting attacked or, better yet, dying, then everything will be perfect.
Gripping onto the gun until your hand starts to cramp up you take a deep breath. Counting down in your mind, you give a quick nod. "okay." and then, without another second, you bolt towards the door. Groans and screams start up as they focus away from the dead body and to you, the perfectly alive person in front of them.
"Shit, shit, shit."
Reaching the door you open it- "no!" the door is locked. Locked. Out of all the places locked it had to be this place. Now as you hear the zombies groans as they move towards you, you resort to banging on the door.
"if someone's in there now would be the right time to open up!"
Banging quicker until your hands hurt.
"PLEASE!" but, as you come to realize, no one is going to help. Whoever is inside, if there is someone inside, probably think you're a crazy person and that it's safer to not open up. Banging against the door is useless so you decide to just stop and turn around to face them all.
Shaking you bring your gun up to shoot down however many zombies you can. There are 8, more than you had seen. Tears well in your eyes and you think of Chris- you wonder if his vacation is going well, and you think of Claire. Hopefully she's safe and she can escape this city.
Sucking in a sharp breath you get ready to fight to the death knowing that at least you went down with a fight. Bringing your finger over the trigger you take a deep breath and as you get ready to shoot, the door suddenly opens and someone's voice comes from inside.
"QUICK!"
Not seeing what they look like, but not caring. You simply back away nearly tripping over your feet but making it inside the station. Rushing backwards with the gun still gripped in your hand you watch as the mysterious person quickly locks and re-boards the door up.
The zombies practically throw themselves at the door so he holds his gun up, getting ready to shoot and kill if any were to get inside. Unable to say anything you simply look forward waiting for them to just leave, because your heart can't take dealing with any of them.
The one who'd saved you lowers their gun after a minute. He breathes a sigh of relief, and when he's certain they won't be breaking in to that part of the station at least, he turns to look at you. You who's eyes are wide with fear and you look like you've seen a ghost.
"Are you okay ma'am?"
He's wearing a uniform indicating that he's a cop. Unless he stole the uniform off some corpse, but you can tell he didn't. The stranger tucks his gun away, approaching you slowly as he doesn't want to frighten you. When he does stop, it's a "safe" distance away,
"Are you hurt?"
"No I... I haven't been hurt. I was going to be if you hadn't helped." blinking away tears and finally putting your gun away.
"Who are you?"
He seems around your age, maybe slightly older. You have never seen him around before so it's most likely that he's a new recruit. When he says what his name is, however, that's when you remember.
"Leon Kennedy."
Sometime before Chris went on vacation you had found out that a new rookie would be starting there in the next few months. Everyone was impressed by how high his marks were and were excited to welcome him. That rookie being Leon, of course, so you weren't wrong about him being a new recruit.
Now having remembered this information, you start to relax.
"It's nice to meet you Leon." stepping forward. "..and thank you."
"You're welcome, (y/n)."
Wait, how does he know my name? He notices your confusion, and decides to clear things up.
"Claire told me your name."
"Claire? wait, she was here?"
-
You learn that Claire had been with Leon when they arrived in the city, until they were separated. She'd told him about you, that if someone were to show up to the police station to let them in.
You learn that he was heading to racoon city to see what was wrong, and that's how he'd met Claire. He wasn't and still isn't sure what's happening but all he wants to do is protect and save. That's all that matters.
Now, as your break is over, you and Leon head off through the station.
-
You quickly shut and lock the door "Who the hell was that?"
"I don't know." he lowers and tucks his gun away. "...but I think we're safe for now."
Keeping away from the door as a safety precaution you lean down to catch your breath. Having dealt with zombies and these creatures that crawl on the wall, two that had nearly ripped you to shreds, you thought that was it. Until he appeared and you were sent sprinting down the hallway, thankfully finding this room to use as a safe haven.
"I can't do this." you admit, hands on your hips as you stand up. "...I just want to get the hell out of here."
"I know." Leon, having turned to face you, looks at you with sympathy. "...I will get us out of here." but what about that guy? You're both injured and need to recover in this room, but what if that guy somehow breaks in? Then you're screwed.
"Speaking of here."
You turn around taking in the room. Having been so focused on escaping you never realized where you had decided to escape to. The S.T.A.R.S. office, the place you would often go to when you'd visit Chris and would often say hi to his fellow team.
"Wow."
Even within the chaos this room seems to remain basically untouched. It still looks the exact same, even down to the way the desks are set up. Then you see it and without even meaning to you're already walking over and grabbing it off the wall.
"Everything alright?"
"Yeah." you reply, feeling tears well in your eyes. Hugging the jacket you take in the smell. It still smells like him it's crazy. You're not sure when he'd hung up his jacket, but it still smells like him. It's good that he's away as he's safe [you hope], and not having to deal with all of this shit.
On the other hand you do wish he was there to comfort you. While he isn't a touch-feely type of person he does offer you comfort whenever you need it, and right now you really do. It doesn't even register that your sniffling until you feel a hand on your shoulder, and when you glance back with tear filled eyes, you see Leon staring at you with kind ones.
"I'm sorry." even though it's not his fault you're feeling like this. "...is there anything I can do?"
It's sweet that he's so carin, considering you'd just met less than three hours ago. If everything hadn't gone to shit you know he would have been a good cop, and the police department would have been happy to have him. Maybe things can still go back to normal and he still can be the cop he's wanted to be.
"...Thank you Leon, you're very kind." he takes his hand away as you turn, still holding onto the jacket. "...but you've done enough already." including how he'd saved your life, which you'll forever be grateful for.
In his opinion he's not done enough. Leon feels bad that you have to go through this especially since you're simply a civilian and he's supposed to protect people and make sure nothing happens. Though he often forgets that he's still young and shouldn't have to deal with so much.
Continuing to hug the jacket to your chest you place a hand on his shoulder for a moment, before walking off to search around the area. Leon watches you and he can tell that you're so close to breaking, and he doesn't blame you.
He watches you move about the room, and he realizes he needs to search too. Though he has one goal in mind, and as he starts to search, he doesn't forget about it.
We'll get us out of here.
-Time skip-
The train pulls out of the station and there's silence, except for the heavy breathing shared between you both.
It's finally over. After one hellish night you are on a train out of this city and to safety. After surviving against different creatures and nearly dying more times than you can count, you're finally free.
Leon sits to your right, while you lean against him. The jacket you'd grabbed from the station still with you, as it's wrapped around you.
"See..." his voice breaks through the silence, and as you look up at him, you notice how a small smile seems to grow on his lips.
"...I told you i'd get us out of there."
"That you did..." you owe everything to Leon, especially your life [you do owe Claire for that too as she’d told him to let you in. Not that he wouldn’t have, but you do still owe Claire your life too]
He'd been the reason you got through that night to live to see another day, and there aren't enough words to thank him for that. Though you wish there were.
Instead you smile up at him with a weak yet thankful smile, "Thank you Leon."
Despite everything he is able to crack a smile as he replies with "you're welcome", but there's something hidden in the way he says it, though neither of you decide to talk about that at the moment. Resting your head against his shoulder you feel as Leon leans more into your touch, and the two of you just get kind of cuddly.
Ready to fall asleep right then and there, the door in front opens, revealing Claire who's got a little girl with her. She looks at Leon, and then you, and while you don't greet eachother with open arms as you're both just tired, you do nod to eachother. You're together again, finally.
Soon some chatter is exchanged but soon enough the room falls silent again, and you head further and further away.

Jonathan Bailey's interview with Gay Times (2023)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
From his work in regency-era dramedy Bridgerton to groundbreaking period piece Fellow Travelers, as well as an upcoming role in the movie adaptation of classic musical Wicked, Jonathan Bailey is blazing a trail as one of the world’s most prominent out gay actors – and activists. This year’s GAY TIMES Honours sees the star succeed 2022’s recipient of the Changemaker Award, Tom Daley, as a result of his new partnership with the official LGBTQIA+ young people’s charity Just Like Us, a collaboration he describes as “critical and crucial”: “LGBTQIA+ issues don’t speak for themselves, and you need people to step forward. It’s important for me to be able to do that.”
Three days after his infectious, frenetic energy made its mark on the GAY TIMES set, a freshly bronzed Bailey is preparing for yet another shoot in Marrakech, Morocco. Speaking from Zoom, he laughs (slash glows): “I’ve been sent out early just to get a tan.” After reminiscing on his “spiritual” on-set discourse about zodiac signs with our fashion and creative director, the aforementioned frenetic energy is back on display as he immediately dives into his Just Like Us partnership. “I’ve worked with Albert Kennedy Trust before, and there’s so many different charities that I look forward to working with,” he says. “Just Like Us really hit something that I felt was important. One thing is, how can people describe what they’re feeling and experiencing if they don’t have the vocabulary and tools to do so?”
Since Just Like Us was founded in 2016, the charity has collaborated with primary schools, secondary schools and colleges across the UK to improve the lives of queer youth. Their annual, UK-wide celebration of LGBTQIA+ awareness, School Diversity Week, sees thousands of schools take part with student talks and assemblies led by their Ambassador Programme, which trains LGBTQIA+ people aged 18-25 to speak about allyship and their own personal experiences with sexuality and/or gender identity. Bailey tells us that the partnership comes after an “extraordinary shift of years of opportunities and possibilities” via his various projects, from Netflix’s smasher Bridgerton to Showtime’s new LGBTQIA+ series Fellow Travelers and his upcoming role as Fiyero in Wicked, which will also star Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande. “I now have a platform by which I can help guide people towards different narratives and causes.”
Laura Mackay, CEO of Just Like Us, praises the star’s activism in the following statement to GAY TIMES: “It speaks volumes about the calibre of our programmes that Jonathan Bailey has decided to join us as a patron. When we met with him to discuss the vital work we do, Jonathan spoke with vigour and sincerity of his unwavering commitment to improving the lives of LGBTQIA+ young people. I am so impressed with our Just Like Us team for creating this partnership and engaging such a wonderful role model. Jonathan oozes panache and gravitas, Just Like Us.”
First visiting the charity at their headquarters in July, Bailey was “blown away” by the team and their ambassadors. Praising their “assuredness, confidence and eloquence” in what they aim to achieve in schools, Bailey admits that he would “never have been able to speak” on LGBTQIA+ issues like that at their age. “There’s so much for me to learn,” he shares. “There’s just something that happens when people speak authentically about their identity in a way that is generous, because they want to connect and tell their story. I was there with my jaw slightly on the floor. I thought, ‘If I had met either of these two people when I was younger, I would’ve been so starstruck’ because they had such ownership of who they are. They had such charisma without shying away from the unsurprising vulnerabilities and obstacles they’ve had to overcome.”
Describing Just Like Us as a “supernova ball of energy” due to their united front in transforming the way in which schools across the UK discuss LGBTQIA+ matters, Bailey lauds the diverse and “enriching” stories that have been told via their ambassadors. Over the past four years, GAY TIMES has partnered with the charity on numerous occasions, with their ambassadors sharing their unique upbringings and experiences with oppression, resistance and hope. A selection of stories featured this year include: ‘As a Brown, Asian, Muslim LGBTQIA+ person, Middlesex Pride felt like home’; ‘Films taught me that LGBTQIA+ and faith identities couldn’t co-exist – but that wasn’t true’; and ‘How Loveless by Alice Oseman helped me discover my aromanticism’.
“I was particularly struck by the fact that there seems to be a knock-on effect of how many people linked to the ambassadors and their friends then jump on board because they see how beneficial it can be,” explains Bailey. “Not just for the people in the schools who are receiving those speeches and interactive sessions, but also for the ambassadors themselves.” Just Like Us is notable for their Pride Groups programme, where they help secondary schools set up and run lunchtime clubs for LGBTQIA+ pupils and their allies to learn, make friends and have a place in school that is free from homophobia and transphobia. Additionally, Just Like Us launched their landmark Positive Futures report earlier this year. Surveying 3,695 people aged 18 to 25 from across the UK, including 1,736 LGBTQIA+ young adults, the report identifies a link between lack of LGBTQIA+ support in childhood and poorer outcomes for mental health, wellbeing and career prospects in adulthood.
“It’s interesting hearing about Positive Futures and the difference between queer youth either being surrounded or in a nourished environment where people freely talk about identity and labels, versus kids that don’t,” he says. “The opportunities it gives them in young adulthood, as well as the increase and decrease in anxiety and panic attacks and depression; purely on the basis of their identities being acknowledged at a younger age. It’s huge. The correlation between conversation and the vocabulary that comes with that leading to a happier life is just… It’s undeniable.”
Clear communication about LGBTQIA+ issues was scarce – rather, non-existent – when Bailey was at school. The partnership forced him to reflect on his “own upbringing, what has changed and, more crucially, what hasn’t changed. One of those things for me was about education, schools, and growing up and my own youth.” For a recent Fellow Travelers campaign, Bailey returned to his home village in Brightwell-cum-Sotwell, a place where anyone who was “other” was “deemed not acceptable”. “That’s how I felt growing up, purely on the basis that I wasn’t aware of any gay people around me,” he says, criticising mainstream media’s archaic portrayal of LGBTQIA+ people at the time. “The media spun stories that were so negative towards the plight of the gay experience, so I didn’t really have access to anything that made me feel welcome or like I was going to be okay, and I was someone who was very aware of who I was. I talked about it from the age of eleven. I wonder what my life would’ve been like, had there been the vocabulary and ambassadors coming into my school. It would’ve definitely helped me feel more secure and to blossom quicker. For me, that sort of confidence in myself has come later on in life because of not having that.”
Immediately after Bailey completed his A-Levels in 2006 – the day of, actually – he moved to London to replace Andrew Garfield in a stage adaptation of the cult queer rom-com Beautiful Thing. As an 18-year-old from a rural village, the multicultural hub of London allowed him to “accrue information and experiences” that weren’t previously accessible to him. “It was meeting amazing people. I wasn’t anywhere near the point where I was going to come out to people I didn’t know, but I already had conversations with my friends,” he remembers. “So, moving to London was sort of a patient and nerdy acquisition of facts and experiences, which emboldened me to the point where I could finally talk to my family [about my sexuality], particularly my parents.” Assimilating to the inclusiveness of London made Bailey project his own growth onto his school, assuming that it would have been transformed into a “multicultural hub with clear access to education or information to anyone who wasn’t a white straight kid”. However, as he discovered: “It wasn’t, actually. What was true is that the same tree of Christianity and faith, with the same laminate piece of paper from when I was there, is still on the wall. Of course, I’ve got no judgement on any of that, other than it’s a reminder of the work that needs to be done for those who are trying to survive. How do you inspire people to understand things outside of their own experience, if they don’t need to or it doesn’t suit them or challenge them?”
Fellow Travelers ties in with his Just Like Us partnership, he says, as it has allowed Bailey to look at the “underside of the queer experience”. Airing on Paramount Plus in the UK, the series is based on Thomas Mallon’s acclaimed novel of the same name and follows the toxic romance between Bailey’s character Tim Laughlin and Matt Bomer’s Hawkins Fuller in the shadow of McCarthy-era Washington. Created by Oscar nominee Ron Nyswaner, Fellow Travelers chronicles their romance over the course of four decades whilst exploring the Vietnam War protests of the 1960s, the “drug-fueled disco hedonism” of the 1970s and the AIDS crisis of the 1980s. His first major LGBTQIA+ project, Bailey says “you can’t get more queer than Fellow Travelers” and adds that “it’s the gayest show I could find.”
Quite correct; the first episode introduces the sub-dom dynamic between Tim and Hawk with a now-infamous foot-fetish sequence which, unsurprisingly, spawned a plethora of horny headlines (yes, we’re guilty of this) and went viral on social media. The remainder of the season continues to depict gay sex with authenticity which is, sadly, still a surprise in 2023. When we spoke with Nyswaner, he told GAY TIMES that it was important for him to “embrace” sex in the show as a result of his own personal experiences. “When I came out in the 1970s, those were the celebratory days of the gay experience. It was pre-AIDS and we were released. Sex is the way that we expressed our community,” he explained. “That connection that I got to have with other gay men, whether it was one night or a little bit longer, was very powerful to me and gave me joy.”
Bailey says Fellow Travelers came “at the right time”. “Someone asked me after Bridgerton, ‘What do you want to do next?’ and that is an amazing position to be in, having worked for so long to suddenly have real choice in what you do. I knew that I wanted to do a sweeping gay love story because I hadn’t seen it, especially one that’s detailed over eight hours.” While Bailey admits he doesn’t respond to fans on Instagram – with over three million followers, we’ll let him off – he’s read “extraordinary” messages from people who have connected to Fellow Travelers’ story. “People have messaged saying, ‘I’m closeted but watching this is helping me in a way that you might not understand.’ Someone else said it made them come out, and these are people in their 40s and 50s. There’s these lost generations that Fellow Travelers is highlighting, people who are more scared than ever to feel invalidated if they were to finally come out and speak their truth. I’m mindful of the fact that there are people of every age who are striving to live authentically.”
With this in mind, Bailey continues: “It’s funny, people look at the 1950s setting for Fellow Travelers and say, ‘God, how awful must it have been back then?’ We’re incredibly privileged in the west. Fifties America is pretty much everywhere else in the world, and still can be. There’s so many places where people are experiencing that level of oppression and so I’m really proud of Ron’s work because it presents 40 years of an incredible celebration of progression.” In October, Bailey attended the Human Rights Campaign’s 2023 dinner, where he presented Bomer with the Impact Award, which recognises members of the LGBTQIA+ community who are dedicated to championing and advocating queer issues. Bailey’s Bridgerton co-star Golda Rosheuvel also introduced Shonda Rhimes, the recipient of the National Equality Award. His first political gala, Bailey describes the event – a room of over three thousands queer icons, allies and activists – as “enthralling, energised and inspiring” and was another pivotal moment of self-reflection for him. “I was like, ‘Blimey, if you think about the 12-year-old boy who knew something about himself, knew 100 per cent that he was not like other people, to then be in a room where he feels completely galvanised and inspired…’ That sort of joy, ferocity and forward-thinking is so intoxicating and important for people to feel because there’s also so much residue. The vitriol and hate is always bubbling under, so you need organisations like Just Like Us who are going to be going into schools to culture students at a young age and make them think outside of their own narratives they get given at home by their parents or films and stories that aren’t helpful. It’s a better landscape for us all, really.”
With the “cobwebs of old archaic belief systems about what a gay man can and can’t do as an actor,” Bailey is proud to be accepting the Changemaker Award, describing it as a “fully realised vocation to make change”. He’s humble, of course, as he takes the time to acknowledge the internal, grassroots operation at Just Like Us and their objective to revolutionise the experiences of LGBTQIA+ youth. “Once you’ve done the work as an actor in this way, all you have to do it turn up and be there,” he says. “The real work comes from the people who are working at Just Like Us, the charities and support groups who have to constantly chug away to get the funds and be noticed. There’s a glimmer in me that knows the work is done elsewhere. But my God, I’m thrilled that I can use my platform to raise the volume on so many other people’s brilliant policies.” Bailey credits his role as straight lead Anthony in Bridgerton with his power to incite change within the LGBTQIA+ community. "As one of the world’s most streamed and acclaimed dramas, Bridgerton’s impact is undeniable. You get a fanbase and it’s almost like a conga line, where you can then lead those people to other stories which feel really important to you. To be able to go from that to Fellow Travelers and Just Like Us is something I’ll be proud of for the rest of my life.”
