anyway since i remembered what i wanted to say. beware the rant of the (new)barista under readmore

so. we have new types of coffee in the coffee shop and some of them are straight up Weird. like who the fuck came up with americano with coconut butter. like what the fuck is that. it's called "americano bulletproof". the only thing thats bulletproof is a bulletproof guarantee that you'll end up shitting your guts out after that drink💀 or like. cappuccino snickers that tastes Nothing like snickers???? fucking peanut raf tastes more like snickers than snickers cappuccino 😭

also recently someone came in and ordered a raf Only with cream. as a cream-intolerant person that order terrified me. thankfully we're not allowed to spend so much cream so that woman just got a regular raf. get fucked lmao

and also people ask for americano with milk????? isnt the whole purpose of americano - to be on water???? like. if you wanted some milk to your espresso you couldve just ordered cappuccino or latte or even flat white if you wanted a stronger coffee taste. americano with milk is an abomination and i judge everyone who orders it. get a better taste or dont drink coffee at all (<- im becoming a coffee snob /hj)

anyway im a big fan of cappuccino with "peanut in caramel" syrup. it has a really nice smell and a pretty strong but nice&sweet taste. to me. we usually add around 25ml of syrup in the medium sized cups but i personally like to add like. 35-40 ml of peanut in caramel syrup bc i habe a sweet tooth and sometimes im too lazy to add sugar lmao. my second favorite is peanut raf. it has peanut butter in it >:D

#i think one of my least favorites is a bumble coffee. it tastes. a bit weird to me? plus i dont really enjoy coffee without milk #it has a pretty interesting taste tho. not something i would actively order but something id try sometimes to spice things up #☆.txt #sorry for a rant slash infodump i still enjoy baristaing very much despite my mistrust and dislike of coworkers and the fact that #i might be getting held back as an intern so they won't pay me more lmao #i mean i still get buy so its not Such big deal but im still pissed and annoyed and think i deserve better. shrug emoji #anyway i would love to keep working as a barista. just somehwere in better environment and closer to my house bc im sick and tired of #1 hour ride to the workplace where i have to stand the whole road bc its a rush hour and people are packed in the public transport #like sardines in a tin #one 1hr ride there 8 hr shift and 1hr ride back home. and during all this time im supposed to be standing bc at the transport #there probably wont be any free places + i look pretty healthy (depsite chronic joint pain) and no one would actually give me their sit #and during the shift there are So Many People usually. like So Many #by the end of the shift i barely have energy to interact with other people lmao XD #anyway thats it thank you for coming to my rant feel free to add your opinions on the terrible terrible thing called americano bulletproof

I hear a lot of people going on about getting "professional help" etc and only a "professional" can help but i feel like theres something twisted about paying for therapy.

I mean its not fully rational that i feel this way n i do understand that therapists undergo a training etc and learn to deal with their job. N they deserve to be compensated obviously.

But also the idea to pay for someone just so they pretend to care and maybe lie to me is just making me sick sometimes.

Obviously i need therapy so im ignoring that feeling but yea.

#lorisys #volia #yesterday i told something which is a big deal to my therapist n im not dealing well w that. i mean ive been meaning to get to that since i #started the therapy n it did take me this long n she reacted well enough but i hate telling personal stuff like that. n shes so normal. i #just feel insane all the time n im acting so normal around her (while talking about trauma ig) n then im like heres a batshit thing actualy #n its like i want to take it back. it was so necessary to tell but i cant deal with it. n now i have to wait a week to see her again bc #like i said she reacted well but i feel like maybe her opinion of me will change n i cant stand to be disliked or judged. so i want #to talk about it to start being more comfortable about the fact she knows but i have to get through a whole week before seeing her again #n im gonna have to be normal at my job while this turmoil is going on. i mean its not even such a big deal but ttttt #ive been so closed up about myself that when i volunteer 'unsafe' info to people i dont fully trust (n even tho i saw her a bunch i still #dont trust her that much cause i cant read her n shes so normal n always nice n i think its hiding something that shes this nice)#so anyway volunteering that info to her makes me sick n i cant cope. i cant tell ppl things like i could anymore. it kills me to #imagine i could be rejected. anyway sarrey for the vent! im ok tho

As promised, my commentary on Hunter.... to the people that like him, im sorry.

Spoiler warnings and the like, this is pretty negative aside from like maybe three sentences?? Feel free to leave you're own opinions on this too ofc !!! >:)

I dont like Hunter.

Actually, that's not entirely true, I liked him in TCW season 7, when he was that silly man who fucked droids around the place, took no shit, and loved his brothers. I like the Hunter who, not putting this nicely, had a personality.

This is not a dig on him as a character, it's a dig on how he was handled, writing wise

Listen, I totally get that the "rugged-man-adopts-a-star-child" trope is popular, and I do LOVE that trope, really I do- I just don't really think it was done that well here? It's bothered me since s1 of the Bad Batch, and I don't think it's going to get any better this season....

My only real problem with the writing inconsistency of Hunter being an older brother of three to "Omega this, Omega that" and while I agree childcare is SUPER difficult at the best of times, Hunter had four brothers who were equally capable of taking care of Omega, too. It just never sat right with me that taking care of her became his ENTIRE personality

Hes a soldier, who despite being completely out of his element, had a routine he strictly followed for the whole war. Yet he seemed to completely forget about that ?? Stressed or not stressed, that worn in routines and LIFELONG LESSONS should not have left his head as quickly as they seemed to.

The most obvious and frustrating example of the oversimplification of Hunter's character is with Crosshair. I cannot even BEGIN to describe my anger when it comes to Hunter and Crosshair. It mainly stems from the way he just FORGETS his brother is with the Empire. Conveniently never bringing it up unless someone else did it first.

As the oldest sibling and squad leader, I personally think Hunter should have been the one to bring him up. It should not have had to be specifically mentioned by another character for Hunter to discuss it. He loves his brothers, he loved Crosshair, broody or not, he should have brought it up AT LEAST once, imo.

We also see this complete disregard for Crosshair AGAIN in s3, now that we have seen Hunter looking for Omega and not ONCE mentioning Crosshair. Has he forgotten that they were originally going to find Crosshair??? That they never actually FOUND their brother ??????? Annoyed me so much, tbh.

What else annoyed me was the singular language he used during the whole episode. "She's part of our squad." "Hemlock took SOMEONE from us." He's completely and utterly disregarding the OTHER TWO SIBLINGS that the Empire took away from him !!!!! It genuinely frustrates me so much.

I know I'm DEFINITELY nit-picking here, but even when Hunter looked to Tech's goggles, it was in a "He should've been here to do this." Way, not a "He should be here." Way. That's his brother, who died looking for another that Hunter has forgotten.

Hunter's tunnel vision is probably one my least favourite things about the Bad Batch, if I dare even MENTION that- and I love this show. It means so much to me, but I just can't handle this particular part of it...

I have so SO much anger directed towards the treatment of Hunter by the writers. I want the Hunter who was devoted to his WHOLE family, who fought for ALL of them, who would have NEVER allowed Crosshair to leave in the first place. Give me that Hunter back.

(Saying this- I do not mind Hunter and Omega's father/daughter and brother/sister relationship !!! I do really enjoy it- in small amounts. The fact that Hunter became nearly an extention of Omega really just- threw me off his whole character, really)

I specifically pick to ignore this when I'm making anything. Hunter has been a sergeant of three idiots(named endearingly) for the entirety of the war. One child who wanders around should not have taken up 100% of Hunter's attention, ESPECIALLY when he was surrounded and supported. It just bothers me, idk

Anyway, thats my rant !!! Back to some positives soon, promise !! I just had to get this off my chest, it's been BOTHERING me.

every time someone says cars 3 is the worst cars movie another angel punches me in the stomach and pulls my hair.

this is probably just my intense special interest in the origins of nascar, but that movie feels like such a nice send-off for the main “trilogy”, and yes people can have their own opinions but i NEED to talk about how much this movie means to me

first of all, a major misconception is that lightning quit racing - he DIDNT! this is proven by both the end of the movie (where he says hes obviously going to keep racing) and cars on the road where, in the final episode, cruz and lightning wish each other “goodbye” and say they’ll see each other on the racetrack. he was only cruz’s crew chief for that one season, presumably healing from the trauma of the crash (because lets be real his ass did not mentally recover from that in FOUR MONTHS) and also waiting for a permanent crew chief to take his place.

second.. the sheer amount of detail put into that movie is INSANE. the racing center being shaped like grandstands at a track? fireball beach being both a direct reference to the daytona beach race course and also “fireball roberts”, a 1950s racer (he was actually the reason that firesuits were mandated in the sport), we meet a bunch of 1950s racers as well and just augh.. so good. also, the detail of thomasville being in north carolina is brilliant - N.C is the “racing state”, and thomasville speedway is based off of north wilkesboro, a track that was opened in 1949, and last used in 1996 (aside from the series of races in 2010), and it fell into disrepair. (fun fact, north wilkesboro is reopening in 2024 for the nascar all star race!! they fixed my bbg)

third. cars three brings so much more lore than the first movie did. yes, we knew doc raced in the 50s when the sport was getting its start, but in cars 3? they brought in characters based off of real 1950s racers (doc is based off of herb thomas, smokey is smokey yunick, lou is louise smith, junior is junior johnson, river is wendell scott, and leroy hemming is tim flock) (another reference in the movie is “jocko flockos party supplies” as macks disguise - jocko flocko was tim flocks pet monkey that was the FIRST and only co-driver in the history of the sport. he won a race with his monkey in the car with him :) )

as i was saying, the lore we learn is insane. we learn that lou and river had to fight for their place in the sport, which is similar to what both louise smith and wendell scott experienced in the 50s, they show us accurately how racing worked back then too - they didnt have fancy pits, they had a fence and a pit member with a sign that would tell them to come in the next lap for service. all of these cars are gen 1 nascar, which means that they were strictly stock - they had much more intense pit sessions than any of the other “built for racing” generations have ever needed. i recall watching a race wherein smokey yunick had to change the radiator of one of his racers vehicles mid-race due to a crash.

this isnt everything, but seriously for an animated movie about talking cars, they discuss grief and hardships and handle them so well its insane. i know cruz isnt everyones cup of tea, but (in reference to the flip scene at the end of the movie) watching cruz get shoved into the sport must’ve been insane for lou to watch. she saw herself in that girl. it wasnt some movie about lightning giving up, it was him sharing the torch with another kid who lost their way just like he had.

also i dont cry at movies but i literally bawl my fucking eyes out at the letters scene every time. its PATHETIC (its not im literally tearing up just thinking about it)

a/n: im not gna lie this isnt my best 😅 but i hope you all enjoy it either way ! LOL

SHE COULDN’T BELIEVE the words coming out of her teachers mouth. it was like everything had stopped around her, tuning out the world to only focus on the negative thoughts running through her mind.

“park sunghoon??? you want me to write the school paper on park sunghoon??”

y/n was not a fan of figure skating, that was a fact. sure it was an elegant and beautiful sport to watch, but she believed all figure skaters were stuck up narcissists. a controversial opinion, but true to her. never in her two years of being the head journalist for the school’s newspaper would she have thought of covering the sport she hated most.

hated all because of park sunghoon.

sunghoon was the talk of the town. y/n had to admit, he had the whole package. tall, freakishly good looking, excelled in all of his classes — but there was just one thing missing. a heart. just like his profession, sunghoon was cold, rude, and narcissistic in y/n’s eyes. god was she dreading this interview.

“oh come on y/n, having thee park sunghoon in the paper would be a hit!“ the teacher spoke, beaming with excitement. y/n couldn’t let her favourite teacher down with the look on the teachers face.

“i expect your piece to be done by thursday the latest.”

y/n’s eyes widened largely, jaw dropping at the new information that was given. “thursday..? but thursday is in like, three days!” the girl exclaimed, the panic soon beginning to rise.

tomorrow. you had to talk to the ice prince tomorrow? she wasn’t prepared. she didn’t have time to mentally prepare herself before facing satan himself. y/n was quite the dramatic.

“so you better get on it. good luck!”

y/n stood in the empty club room dumbstruck. sunghoon hated your guts. the both of you weren’t cut out to make this paper a success. but y/n had to try. this was her job. she wasn’t going to let a little ice fairy get in her way.

the girl took a deep breath in, nodding her head in determination with a light grin playing on her lips.

“you’ve got this.”

‘you so dont got this.’ was all y/n could think as she stood in the cold rink, watching as the skaters danced across the ice with their pristine charisma. y/n could smell the snobbiness from a mile away.

the girl’s eyes scanned the ice in search of a particular boy, before here eyes had stopped. there he was, thee park sunghoon. thee ice prince of korea.

‘bullshit.’ was all that went through your head with an eye roll.

y/n watched carefully as sunghoon’s sharp eyes met hers, feeling her body immediately stiffen. sunghoon intimidated the hell out of her, but she would never admit that.

‘god … why does he have to be so good looking?’

sunghoon began making his way over to the girl, raising an eyebrow in curiousness. “l/n y/n …. i would have never thought to see you here.” the boy snickered, earning a scoff from the other.

sunghoon knew your hatred towards him and his sport. it amused him. he didn’t know why he found you quite amusing.

“lets just make this short, and simple, ice fairy.” y/n sternly spoke with a soft sigh in defeat heard in her tone, staring up into his eyes. his dark beautiful eyes— no. she needed to get a hold of herself.

y/n was snapped back into reality at the sudden head shake in protest for sunghoon, causing a scowl to quickly form over her face. “what is that supposed to mean?”

sunghoon chuckled to himself, gazing down at the ice before that smirk played on his lips. that stupid fangy smirk you hated, but loved so much.

sunghoon met your eyes once again, his expression only hardening. “you want to talk?” sunghoon questioned, cocking his head to the side in a teasing manner, confusing y/n. “i only talk on the ice.”

oh how park sunghoon made your blood boil.

“w-what?? sunghoon you cant be serious!” you shouted at the male, but it was too late. he was already skating backwards, deeper into the rink with a simple shrug as his response.

today was going to be a long day.

and that it was. of course y/n didn’t know how to skate. trying to keep up with sunghoon on the ice while focusing on the questions written down in her notepad was a challenge. especially when the figure skater refused to be cooperative. the voice recording only consisted of sunghoons devilish snickers followed by, “ow!”, “be serious!”, “fuck you sunghoon!”.

y/n couldn’t possibly see this was going in the right direction.

“do you ever feel like you’re missing out on a ‘normal’ high school experience? i mean because of your intense training schedule, you barely even—“

sunghoon stopped abruptly, letting out a harsh sigh as the white puff escaped from his lips. he was irritated. you could tell. the way his dark eyebrows crinkled in frustration as his fang poked at his bottom lip.

“are there any other questions?” sunghoon spat harshly, causing y/n to raise her eyebrow in surprise at the male’s sudden outburst. it took the girl by surprise, although on proved her point further on her opinion of figure skaters.

‘arrogant and annoying.’ she thought, a deep sigh coming from her as she scanned over the rest of her questions. “okay. how do you deal with the pressure of competitions, especially with so many eyes watching you—“

you were cut off again.

“im done with this interview.” sunghoon stated, as your eyes widened at his response.

“what?? but i didnt even get to finish my questions!” she exclaimed, attempting to chase after the boy on her skates only to fail miserably.

“youve got enough answers.” sunghoon coldly spoke over his shoulder, getting off of the ice before stomping away.

y/n’s eyes scanned sunghoons face, seeing the irritation and anger written all over her expression. she felt … bad?

maybe she went a little too far.

the next day at school was rough. y/n tried grabbing sunghoon’s attention all day, but he wouldn’t even look her way. in the hallway as she waved her hands like a crazy person, in the lunchroom where she shouted his name multiple times earning odd stares from the students around her, and right now, as she stood by his locker waiting for him to arrive.

y/n wanted to apologize. after she had replied the encounter in her mind over three hundred times last night, she could see why sunghoon had gotten so upset. her questions were provoking him. she hadn’t even realized she wrote them in a way that would purposely irritate him.

y/n gazed down at her feet as she leaned her back up against sunghoon’s locker. the girl nibbled on her bottom lip nervously, before hearing footsteps approaching. that was until two feet appeared in front of hers. y/n slowly trailed her gaze up the others tall figure, as her eyes landed on the face of the person she hated most. but this time, she was beginning to feel it was not so much.

“what do you want, y/n.” sunghoons tired voice sighed, as he ran a hand through his dark hair frustratedly.

you could see it now. everything. the incident opened your eyes to finally somewhat understand your most hated enemy. y/n could see the stress on sunghoons face. the difference between the expression on his face when he was on the ice, compared to off the ice was very noticeable to you now. you didnt know how to feel.

“i just…” y/n began, letting out a soft sigh in defeat. this was a lot harder than you expected. “i just wanted to apologize for yesterday … some of the questions were a bit too …”

“annoying?” sunghoon finished for you, gazing down at the girl with a piercing yet unreadable gaze, causing her to gulp. “well thats one way to put it…” y/n commented.

it took sunghoon a while to reply, his eyes scanning your worried expression. in all honesty, sunghoon was quite shocked at the sudden apology. he didnt expect it from you, especially it being from someone who claimed she hated him with all her heart. sunghoon only let out a chuckle in response, shaking his head as he took a step forwards.

y/n’s eyes widened slightly in surprise at their now close proximity, taking a step back only to feel herself hit his locker. what the hell was going on.

sunghoon kept his burning gaze on the girl, taking his time to lean down until he was eye level. sunghoon placed his hand up against the cool metal locker next to your head, his signature fangy smirk making an appearance.

you felt like you were about to go weak at the knees. y/n had never been this close to park sunghoon, ever. she couldnt help but feel her cheeks burn as she couldnt look anywhere else but his face.

all she saw was park sunghoon.

“write a good paper y/n, hm?” the boy finally spoke, his deep raspy voice sending shivers down your spine.

y/n let out a shaky exhale, slowly nodding her head although still in a state of shock.

pleased with this reaction, sunghoon snickered as he stood up straight pushing himself off from the flustered girl. sunghoon gazed down at y/n’s expression, not being able to hold back a light chuckle as he took it open himself to gently yet tauntingly pat the girls head before walking away.

y/n stood there dumbfounded. why was her heart beating so fast?

“fuck you sunghoon!”

the paper was all y/n could focus on from that point. memories of that moment replayed in her head 24/7. it was such a simple yet charming gesture. the kind that got her giggling and kicking her feet at night.

before the three days were up, wednesday had rolled around quickly. wednesday, the day of sunghoon’s competition.

it took y/n a while to decide whether or not she should show up, only to find herself sitting in that cold rink yet again. ‘its for the paper.’ the girl attempted to justify, just to make herself feel better.

“fancy seeing you here.” that irritating voice spoke from beside the girl.

although it was irritating in a different kind of way now. a way that made her feel rather more excited that annoyed.

y/n looked up at sunghoon, biting her lips as she immediately looked away to avoid the taller’s gaze. there was no way she could face him without a crazy blush rising over her cheeks.

“i came here for the paper.” y/n stated simply, clearing her throat to get a hold of herself.

sunghoon let out a melodic chuckle, causing y/n to muster up enough courage to meet sunghoons eyes. to her surprise, his gaze was readable, unlike most days. today, his eyes were full of determination. full of passion.

thats when you finally understood park sunghoon.

park sunghoon was not a narcissist, nor arrogant. park sunghoon was full of passion, and ambition.

“say… i have a deal for you.” sunghoon hummed, taking a seat next to the girl for a quick moment, causing y/n to snap out of her realization.

“a deal..?” the girl questioned, her head tilting to the side in curiousness as to what sunghoon has to propose.

“if i win this competition…” sunghoon started, only dragging the suspense causing a light groan to escape past your lips, before his next words took you by surprise.

“you have to go out on a date with me.”

y/n’s jaw dropped to the floor at sunghoons request, staring at the boy with wide eyes at a loss for words. you didnt know what to do, didn’t know what to say. did thee park sunghoon, thee ice prince just ask you out on a date?

“sunghoon! youre on in ten!!”

sunghoon smiled lightly at his coach with a soft nod, before standing up and turning his attention back to you. “i’ll win. watch me.” sunghoon spoke in a determined matter, before bolting away to get on the ice in time for his routine.

thats when you reacted. y/n shot up from her seat on the bench, watching sunghoon scurry away. “wait- sunghoon! hey!! park sunghoon!!”

sunghoon did in fact win that competition. you and sunghoon did in fact go on that date, and ever since then, you suddenly did not understand how you could have ever hate a person like him. he was your everything. your little ice fairy.

in that post abt the gender unicorn graphic, in the comments the idea of the “split attraction model” is brought up and you say you dont want to litigate that. however, im really curious what your opinion is bc i have some ideas abt it too. i feel like its sort of an incomplete analysis? like, people feel different ways about others and that cant really be flattened into like two modes of attraction. but i personally would call myself aromantic and bisexual so obviously i have some level of investment of the idea. anyways i just ask because in general i find your analysis and opinions compelling

My issue with splitting “physical attraction” and “emotional attraction” is that it does the same naturalising trick that the chromosomes-as-the-symbol-of-sex does - by splitting the emotional from the physical, this implies that physical attraction is natural, without emotion, and by the same token that emotion can exist completely detached from the physical body of the person you emotionally desire. Like I just don’t think this is true! For example, the idea of “casual sex,” ie sex that is devoid of emotion/emotional investment, is a social construction, it is a sexual act that is being contrasted against societal norms of “serious sex” or “invested sex” or whatever you want to call it - sex that is being done in the context of a monogamous, married relationship, or an otherwise exclusive long-term one. the base social unit of much of western society is the nuclear family, and the nuclear family is “ideally” produced by monogamous, cis-heterosexual, racially homogeneous reproductive sex. That is the norm by which all other sexual behaviour and activity is judged by.

and to be clear I’m not using “emotional” in an idealistic or moral sense, I am not using it as a shorthand for romantic feelings, I am purposefully using the language the graphic is using - I mean any emotion. Like just to be super clear, I’m not suggesting that people who have casual sex all secretly love the people they fuck, or that sex has to always be a serious emotional endeavour, or that people who do not feel sexual attraction to the people they have romantic feelings for are secretly lying, but that I don’t think sex is something that can be devoid of emotionality entirely. Like I think we are engaging in this Cartesian body/mind dualism where the physical acts we perform are somehow wholly separate from our emotional states. Pleasure has an emotional component to it, I don’t know how to articulate my experiences with pleasure that do not involve some level of emotionality, and emotionality has a physical character to it. Like in fact I think this graphic is treating emotions as ideal states - it reminds me of like old misogynistic psychological theory that described rationality as an absence of emotion, that to engage in rationality is to move away from emotion. It treats rationality as “out there,” objective, natural, detached from social influence, and emotion as “in here,” in our hearts, ruled by the social. And this distinction is made on the idea that the social world is detached from the physical world, which is pure idealism.

this is not a dismissal or denial of anyone who feels a disconnect between their sexual and romantic desires, such as asexual or aromantic people - while I am neither of those things, I have experienced intense physical desire for the person I’m fucking while actively dissociating during sex as a result of dysphoria/heteronormativity/etc etc. by the same token I have also felt emotionally compelled to be physically attracted to someone without actually feeling physical desire. These are both emotional states that were in conflict with my physical desires, or rather my physical desires as I understood them at the time. our ability to interpret and understand our desires is itself social! otherwise heteronormativity wouldn’t be a thing. We don’t have unmediated, unemotional access to physical desire, which I think this graphic is arguing, intentionally or not.

so having complicated, contradictory, disconnected, or otherwise ‘non-normative’ relationships to our emotional states vis a vis physical desire is obviously very real, and the reason they are real is because physical desire is also socially mediated and constructed. What and who we find attractive, why types of bodies, physical and character traits, etc are attractive to us are all part of (joker voice) society.

now, idk how you easily communicate this in graphic format. perhaps these things are unsuited to the medium of easily digestible graphics, or perhaps I’m limited in my imagination. either way I don’t think bifurcating emotional-desire-as-social and physical-desire-as-natural is particularly helpful
