Established SKK HC that Dazai LOVES mandarins but HATES peeling them (it’s a texture and work problem) and even though Chuuya pretends to be annoyed about it, he always without hesitation accepts any mandarin Dazai puts in his hands and peels it for him.

Asexual Dazai HC

I thought the idea was nice before, but recently I've gotten really into the idea of Dazai being Asexual.

Despite his playful, upbeat attitude, which we all know is an act most of the time, Dazai has trouble connecting to people. Even someone like Atsushi, who he does his best to guide and comfort, he still seems to keep at arms length. This obviously isn't saying that asexuals are like that, it just establishes Dazai's disconnect, not only to other people, but also from his own ability to feel certain emotions and to understand the ones that he does feel. He doesn't allow himself to be put in a vulnerable position in front of others. As far as we know he's only ever let himself get that close to 3 people, OdaSaku, Ango, and Chuuya (even if it was reluctantly with him). Because of that I find it difficult to believe that Dazai would ever let himself be fueled by sexual desire or let himself be that vulnerable or trusting with another person during sex. Also even though we know he's most likely had sex in canon (I know it's been debated but I personally think he did have sex with the nurse in the manga), I think of that as either a manipulation tactic to get what he wants, or out of boredom or loneliness. Which doesn't mean anything as far as whether he enjoys it or not in the moment, just that he doesn't often seek it out.

Still, I love some good Soukoku smut. I also love both angst and fluff, so I make my headcanon pretty flexible so that depending on the fic it either be really sad or really cute.

Here are the two explanations I usually use for nsfw fics. Also, this is for SKK in the canon universe. It's different for some AUs and especially fics for other ships;

1) In fics where they seem to only have a sexual relationship and try not to let themselves be too romantic or emotionally intimate with each other, I feel like Dazai does it because he thinks a purely sexual relationship is the only way he can be with Chuuya. Either because he thinks Chuuya doesn't have any romantic feelings for him (though he usually does), or to keep Chuuya safe because nothing good happens to people who get close to him. Dazai loves Chuuya, no matter how hard he tries not to, and he'll do whatever it takes to keep Chuuya in his life in any way he can, even if that means it's just sex, which with anyone else would make him feel extremely uncomfortable at best, and completely disgusted at its worst. This way he can at least take comfort in the way Chuuya looks while in the throes of pleasure, knowing that only he can make Chuuya feel that way, only he gets to see Chuuya in his most vulnerable state. Only him.

2) As for fics where they start dating/are already dating(bonus points if they're married), I further specify his sexuality as demisexal (I have a great attachment to Dazai being demi). Ordinarily he doesn't have any interest in sex at all, and even if sometimes it feels good in the moment, it makes him feel horrible afterwards. But Chuuya is different. Whether it be how cute Chuuya looks wearing his clothes, seeing him shirtless right after a shower, or even when he's training and he lifts his leg up a little higher than usual showing off his legs and flexibility, something about Chuuya does things to him. Makes him feel this warmth in the pit of his stomach that he's never felt before. Only Chuuya makes him feel that way, because Chuuya is the only one he's ever been able to form that kind of emotional bond (I specify romantic as well because he did have a strong bond with OdaSaku) and trust with. Everything with Chuuya seems so easy and natural. The love he shares with Chuuya is so strong that somehow even feelings of sexual desire and attraction, an idea practically foreign to Dazai, are completely unavoidable with Chuuya as his partner.
