hc that Dazai made a point of calling Chuuya small when they met because Dazai was used to being the small one.

like, finally there was someone shorter than him. because let’s be real, Dazai was barely taller than Chuuya in Fifteen.

i think people forget how small Dazai was too— not just in height, but also in weight. He was underweight in Dark Era, but in Fifteen & even at present he's barely within the healthy weight range for his height. he was constantly described as a twig in Fifteen, and almost every time he's introduced in the light novels he's called lanky, slender, etc.

I love the 22!Soukoku dynamic in canon because every interaction they have is like:

Dazai: Ughhh Chuuya is so annoying, why won’t he leave me alone (hasn’t actually talked to Chuuya in 4 years)

Chuuya: Ughhh what the fuck now, I bet it’s Dazai’s fault (Dazai is nowhere nearby or involved in the scene)

I'm really in love with the idea of teen SKK falling for each other in mundane moments because the world they live in is so crazy and filled with violence and death that when Dazai breaks into Chuuya's apartment on their day off and finds him finishing cooking his favorite crab meal he can't help but feel like struck by lightning as he stares at the two plates that Chuuya already put out.

But the craziest thing is how while he is surprised by the fuzzy feelings, they don't feel unfamiliar.

Not in the way that he was in love before, he wasn't, but because it feels so normal to look at Chuuya and be filled with warmth and smiling like an idiot.

(Obviously, he has to complain about there not being enough crab and the slug's table being chibi-sized to make up for it.)

But Chuuya isn't any better even if it takes him a little longer, he feels even more ridiculous with it because there shouldn't be anything endearing about waking up next to the damn mackerel in his own bed when he went to sleep alone last night.

And yet he knows that he still had his work clothes and shoes on, but Chuuya is only wearing socks and not his coat anymore and his blanket is put over him so that he isn't freezing and he thinks suddenly that maybe he could get used to this.

The thought hits him like a train and he sits up in shock and while it's stunning him, it also feels like he is reading an old book he forgot in the back of his shelf.

The feelings flooding through his veins aren't new, he couldn't say when they became so familiar, but they feel as natural as the blood within him.

(Obviously, he has to kick Dazai out of his bed and yell at him.)

I just love the idea that they both fell for each other silently and got so used to loving each other that it was as natural as breathing to them, but it sneaked up on them one day in an innocent moment of idyllic domesticity in this violence-filled world they are navigating through.

after corruption

chuuya used to protest against Dazai carrying him back to base after he used corruption on a mission.

over the years he has gotten used to it. He lets Dazai carry him and just pretends to be passed out.

Been thinking about SKK’s height difference and kissing.

Chuuya definitely can’t kiss Dazai if they’re standing next to each other. So he eventually decides to start to using gravity manipulation to get eye level with Dazai.

Dazai only let him fall the first time they did this. Every time after as soon as their lips meet, and Chuuya’s power is nullified, Dazai catches him.

Chuuya ends up do this enough that Dazai doesn’t even have to think about it anymore. His arms start to instinctively go out to catch Chuuya before their lips even meet.

Chuuya acts like he's drunk while confessing to Dazai to see he's (Dazai) rection.

When Chuuya can't sleep he invites Dazai and they order food, watch movies, play games and cuddle.

When Dazai attempts suicide Chuuya acts like he doesn't care but then gets worried and then scolds Dazai.

When Chuuya and Dazai plays uno and Chuuya loses he has to dress up as a maid but if Dazai loses he has to get baptized(Chuuya always loses bc Dazai cheats when Chuuya isn't looking)

Personal Skk headcanons:

During that four year period after Dazai left the PM, every so often Chuuya would send him drunk voice-mails and whenever Dazai was having a particularly bad breakdown or panic attack he would listen to them to calm himself down

Dazai became an alcoholic during his time at the PM but it got much worse during those two years before he joined the agency

Dazai is a really good dancer and is considerably flexible

Dazai can't ice skate or roller skate, Chuuya is really good at it and has tried to teach him, but it didn't end well

Dazai and Chuuya had a misson where they had to dance together and Dazai taught Chuuya how and during of the lesson Chuuya fell and took Dazai with him resulting in Dazai being on top of him

Dazai has around 50 polaroids of just Chuuya and almost 30 of them together and has more on his phone

Both Dazai and Chuuya can sing quite well, but Dazai loves it when Chuuya sings during undercover missions so he never really mentions that he can too

When Dazai has to have something going on at all times and too much quiet bugs him, so when Chuuya comforts him, he hums or sings softly

Chuuya is the opposite. He likes the quiet because he doesn't get much of it. So when Dazai comforts Chuuya, he holds him and doesnt speak

Dazai needs to do something to keep him occupied so he learns languages, and he currently knows the most languages out of anyone in the PM and ADA

When Dazai left, Chuuya was originally happy but over time he noticed habits that he had because of Dazai, such as keeping extra bandages or cooking for two, but when he saw Dazai for the first time during a shopping trip, he grew upset because of how good he looked compared to how badly he was doing at the mafia

Dazai wasn't doing all that good even after joining to ADA, he rarely slept, he had bad addictions and terrible eating problems, the only reason he looked good when Chuuya saw him was because the agency members were forcing him to eat and helped him take care of himself

After the whole thing with Meursault and Fukuchi, no one remembered Dazai's eating issues because they were all dealing with other problems, and as a result his eating got bad and he got really skinny again

They're wedding rings are black

Dazai has decent upper body strength but Chuuya is much stronger

Dazai is more likely to get really sick rather than getting only a little sick

Chuuya has a really good immune system and normally ends up taking care of Dazai

Dazai rarely cries but when he does it's extremely hard to watch because of the fact that Dazai is usually so calm and collected, even appearing emotionless at times

whenever chuuya comes across a stray dog, he checks for his surroundings and then 100% spends his time playing with the dog as if its his own child. (oh and he definetly places dogs inside dazais dorm, occasionally)

Married SKK hc where Dazai wants to stay up until Chuuya comes home, but even their couch is so stupidly comfy that he ends up falling asleep (he sleeps so much more since he is with Chuuya).

So Chuuya comes home to his husband curled up like a cat on said couch and his chest fills with warmth as he picks Dazai bridal-style up and murmurs, “Stupid mackerel, why didn’t you go to our bed.”

And Dazai wakes up, but is sleepy and Chuuya’s arms are warm, so he just wiggles closer to him in his arms and nuzzles his face into the crook of his neck. “Chibi’s the stupid one, I can’t sleep without my ugly slug.”

And Chuuya snorts and rolls his eyes as he carries Dazai to their bedroom, asking, “And what were you doing just now, dumbass?” Dazai is too fuzzy and sleepy to keep up their bickering; instead a soft “Waiting for Chuuya.” slips out.

And Chuuya smiles just as softly and presses a kiss on Dazai’s forehead. “I’m here now.”
