Note
Is it awkward in an ot3 when two of the partners accidentally hold hands when trying to grabs the third partner’s butt at the same time?
Smiler: ...Alice, we may have to coordinate something.
Alice: [laughing] I'm guessing that means the answer to this person's question is a "no," then.
Victor: [promptly goes to stand with his back against a wall, rolling his eyes]

Hi. Hope you're having a good day or afternoon or evening and staying safe. I wanted to ask you if you could write something for Blue Beetle in the scene where Jaime and his sister with y/n are fighting those soldiers in the underground with the red light and Jaime and Y/n like each other but they haven't told each other. Then, the fight is over and Jaime and his sister hug each other then Jaime and y/n hug each other too and she tells him she's glad he's okay.
Then, Jaime tells her and his sister that they have to get out of there but y/n stops him and gathers up the courage to tell him she has always liked him and she finally tells him. Jaime is speechless then y/n acts nervous and tells him that maybe telling him her feelings for him were probably stupid but Jaime assures her that it's not stupid and that he has also always liked her too but he just didn't know how to tell her.
She smiles at this and Jamie smiles too then he has an expression on his face like he's about to kiss her and Khaji Da notices that he wants to kiss her and says something about it. Jaime gets annoyed as he rolls his eyes and tells her to stop and while y/n & his sister laugh then he goes in and kisses her and his sister sees this and whistles.
Jaime and y/n let go from kissing and smile at his sister then his uncle Rudy when he comes and his sister tells uncle Rudy Jaime and y/n confessed their feelings for each other and kissed and Uncle Rudy whistles too and tells Jaime way a go. Jaime rolls his eyes then him and y/n both laugh while smiling then they get out of there to get Jenny and while Jaime and y/n are now holding hands together.
Thank you so much. Hope this is okay. Have a good day or afternoon or evening and stay safe. 😊😊😊
Hi! Welcome! It's a Lovely Dammit Hedgi Day and it's nice to see some new faces this year. To answer you question though: Nope! :) I don't write romance, self insert or otherwise, and even if I did, I only take simple concept/dialog prompts during the three weeks leading up to Dammit Hedgi Day. (note: I've gotten a few ship prompt requests today, which is why I'm responding publicly. This is not to shame or call anyone out! I just want the new folks to know that my prompts are closed for another year and I don't accept this kind of prompt. ) That said- It seems like you've got a solid outline for the story: you should give it a go yourself! I'm sure there's readers who would be interested.
Stay safe, have a lovely day yourself! Good luck with your fic, either in writing it or finding another fanwriter who is better suited to the task.

One more thing this evening, but Cyrano stroking Christian’s hair or holding his head while he lies to him about telling Roxanne everything (bonus if he actually says it sotto voce) will always be a top tier blocking/acting choice and nothing will ever beat it.

of course ppl have no obligation to care about characters they don't like... & fandom is about doing what you want and having fun... & it's inevitable for fanon to simplify the cast into little cardboard cutouts...
but i Do wish that ppl who pour a lot of love & effort into analyzing + developing the relationships of + having empathy for the circumstances of the main characters would extend more than a fraction of that to other characters. like my favorite girl kevin day 🐈‍⬛
#ok. i admit i might like side characters a bit too much. b/c i hate to see an interesting situation go to waste and i ♡ making things up#(<- guy who literally has a tetsuji & kayleigh section in their rambling thoughts doc)#but i do think it's a fair gripe to have abt characters w/ the plot relevancy of say. kevin 🐈‍⬛#this may turn into a kevin complaints tirade i'm afraid#we have all heard it before... but i think of it often...#like. I Get that 90% of the time he appears he's either 1. reeling from recent trauma 2. engrossed in special interest or 3. plot device#and of course it's hard to conceptualize him as having other desires based on canon b/c he literally isn't developed enough as a character#to be shown with them. And tkm cuts off right at a point where he'd be reeling from another major change (abuser being killed)#so the easy solution is to take what we see in canon (snapshot of him as he behaves in an extremely turbulent situation) (from neil's pov)#(with all of its biases & skewedness) and leave it at that + only write abt him in ways that don't make things difficult for main charas#+ further boil it down into spineless & anxious yet bitchy & ascetic exy alcoholic w/ no relationships.#hm. lemme say this. of course this isn't true everyone who hcs kevin as aroace#& it makes sense to relate to a character who isn't too focused on any relationships as someone who's acespec#so i don't dislike the hc at all. but at the same time i do think that sometimes ppl hc him as aroace for reasons#that aren't coming from the best/most genuine of places: one being that it's easy#ppl don't have to think of him having desires that aren't explored in the snapshot of canon we're given#or really write him in any complex relationships (even platonic ones). like he's out of sight & out of mind#he's not a threat to andreil as a couple/the ot3 tension from kevin being surgically cut from the romantic narrative#can also be dismissed as accidental (?)#lastly this is a reach sure but ppl do like assigning any character w/ vaguely neurodivergent traits as acespec#'how could they be in/even be interested in relationships if their social skills & interests & behaviors are like That' & etc.#i am not sure... sometimes the fanon just rubs me the wrong way... i am just talking to myself on my blog.#mimithoughts#kevin

Welcome to another round of W2 Tells You What You Should See, where W2 (me) tries to sell you (you) on something you should be watching. Today's choice: 成化十四年/The Sleuth of the Ming Dynasty
Tumblr media
(The) Sleuth of (the) Ming Dynasty (it's hard to get an agreement on how many definite articles should go where) is a beautiful, high-budget 2020 drama about a weenie genius detective, his long-suffering and deeply traumatized sugar daddy, and the eunuch with the most difficult job in the Great Ming: keeping these two dumbasses from getting their fool selves imperially executed.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Depending on how you like it, it's either an OT3 or an OTP with an intense, underage third wheel, and either way, it's delightful. I wouldn't call it a comedy, but it has very many funny elements that keep the drama fun and engaging. The first half is full of shorter mysteries that are clever and thoughtfully plotted, and the second half goes in on the longer mystery that ties them all together.
I've already done my quick guide to the early-episode characters, if you want a taste of just how many people are running around and how wonderful they all are. But in case you want to know a little bit more before you commit yourself to a 48-episode series, here's five reasons I think you should watch it!
1. The whole thing smacks of gender
Yeah, this was originally going to be selling point #2, but I know what the people want.
This is not a show about gender. But boy it is a show that has a lot to say about gender, and not just by way of critiquing premodern Chinese gender roles (though it does do that!). Many of the cis characters are either a) somewhat gender nonconforming, b) canny enough to weaponize binary gender expectations, or c) both. Sui Zhou's entire third-act storyline is about how expectations of masculinity exacerbate PTSD in veterans. Three different AFAB characters either dress or live as men. The part where one of the male characters goes undercover in drag is played for laughs, but the joke isn't 'ha ha, a boy in a dress,' it's 'ha ha, this particular boy in a particular dress, and also he's terrible at it.'
And that's even before we get to the eunuchs.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There are several professionally dickless, permanently unmanned characters running around. One-third of the OT3 canonically had his external genitalia nonconsensually removed when he was five years old, and because of this, he has been given unimaginable authority. He's basically the second most powerful man in the entire empire, and he only gets that way by being unquestionably, ostentatiously, and genuinely submissive to the first most powerful man.
I have seen other Chinese media where eunuchs are treated like sinister clowns, good only to be the bad guys and the butts of jokes. Sleuth's main eunuchs are real and complex characters, and because of this, the show gets to explore what it is to live in this weird third-gender category of incredible power and powerlessness.
Tumblr media
Now, don't go into this expecting woke gender treatises. Wang Zhi's never going to sit down and go, "You know, my friend and fellow eunuch Ding Rong, because of my lack of a penis, I understand my relationship to masculinity differently than other men do." But the show understands that even if he doesn't say it, it's true. And that makes a lot of the characters and their relationships just so much more interesting.
2. Uncle Jackie Money
Sleuth was the was the fourth c-drama I dove into, following the Untamed, Word of Honor, and Guardian -- or, Some Money BL, Less Money BL, and No Money BL. So imagine my absolute wall-eyed shock to find this was All The Money BL, courtesy of its executive producer, Jackie Chan (seen here with some of his handsome boys):
Tumblr media
Sleuth looks good. The costumes are amazing. The sets are stunning. The cinematography is beautiful. Everything is so detailed, and while I can't speak to the absolute historical accuracy of all those details (see point 3), they're still gorgeous. In fact, you know what? I'm going to shut up and show you some of the promotional images.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(For actual screenshots, I'm just going to point you at @rongzhi's tsomd photoset tag, as they have done a tremendous service to the fan community -- though do beware of spoilers.)
Uncle Jackie's influence doesn't end with the money, though. Even though things get a bit goofy and wirework-y near the end, most of the drama's fights are shows of real martial arts skill. You can see his fingerprints on a lot of the choreography -- I'm thinking particularly of the time Tang Fan tries (and fails!) to stab Sui Zhou three times, which is pure Jackie Chan high-speed dexterity.
Tumblr media
Add this one to the category of shows your Average American Television Enjoyer Who Can Handle Subtitles would like. In fact, I have shown the first episode to my normie father-in-law, who was impressed. Show it to your dad! See if he picks up on the gay!
3. I am from ... HISTORY!
The Chinese title translates to "The 14th Year of Chenghua," which works out to the year 1478. There are some clear anachronisms, but they tend to be played for comedy, so it's hard to hold that against them. On the whole, though, the show is trying real hard to evoke a very specific moment, and I feel it does so beautifully.
Tumblr media
This does, however, mean that several of the characters are real people. I don't even have a good sense of how many of them are based on historical figures, that's how many. Hilariously, Wang Zhi's tag on AO3 used to read "Wang Zhi (?-1487 CE)."
Tumblr media
Moreover, these are characters I've seen pop up in other media, played very differently! In particular, Noble Consort (up there in blue) tends to be written as an uncomplicated villain elsewhere, whereas Sleuth gives her a chance to add some goodness to her badness, until, damn, you can't but root for the bitch. (It also downplays the cradle-robbing, which, honestly, is for the best.)
Tumblr media
You may have guessed from the eunuch section earlier, but it bears repeating: Wang Zhi is straight-up the best character in the show. He's smart as hell, and he has to be, because the second he's stupid, he's dead. I actually consider it helpful to know ahead of time that he's never going to do a heel turn -- I feel like on my first watchthrough, I was holding my breath for the first two-thirds of the show, waiting for his sudden but inevitable betrayal. It does not come. Wang Zhi is one of the heroes.
Tumblr media
He's also, like, evil. He orders people flogged, tortured, and executed. The very first thing you see him doing is sinister as hell. And the show clearly doesn't think this is good, but it also doesn't judge him for it. He's a traumatized seventeen-year-old who has not had a normal moment of his entire life. He's working thanklessly for a boss who could kill him on a whim -- and he's doing it because he literally, physically was made for his job. He's mildly freaking out because he has no emotional grounding to help him understand that these weirdos want to be his friends.
Was the real Wang Zhi like this? That's beside the point. The point is, you get to see how someone in that position could wind up as the war-crimes-committing platonic ideal of a little meow meow.
4. oh my god the food
Warning: This show will make you hungry.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Again, beware of spoilers, but @peppersandcreamsicle and @qinzai have put together an entire cook-along Google Doc so you don't just have to drool -- you can do something about it! Or you can just read it and learn about Chinese cuisine, which is a little more my speed.
But it's not just about how good the food looks. Food is a vital emotional part of the series. People bond over it. They make and share it as a sign of love and care. It indicates status, ethnicity, interest, personality. The show's message about the healing power of cooking for the people you love will bring you to tears.
Tumblr media
And yes, Sui Zhou is the main one doing the cooking, so get ready to drool over both the dishes and the handsome man preparing them.
Tumblr media
Oh, and as though that weren't enough, Fu Meng Po can actually cook in real life. He's so dreamy. Absolute unreal handsome man with a devastatingly sexy voice. (I know my opinion might be different if I could hear his Taiwanese accent, but I can't so it's not!)
5. An Unsunk Ship
So like I said, my intros to c-drama couples had been WangXian, WenZhou, and WeiLan. That meant I'd basically come to terms with the idea that you can't have a main couple in a BL-but-not-really drama without splitting them up at least a little in the end, for no-homo plausible deniability reasons.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tang Fan and Sui Zhou are still definitvely, unequivocally together when the story ends, as the iconic pentultimate scene of the series confirms with beauty and simplicity. I refuse to give any more details than that, but that ship's afloat.
(These shirtless pictures aren't from the end, but I wanted to include them, and I didn't have a better place to do it. ...Also, you know, ships and water? Yeah?)
And I think their winding up together reflects Sleuth's entire attitude. Tang Fan is made of sunshine, and the series loves him for it. There is tragedy aplenty in this show, but there's no misery. It is ultimately a hopeful show that believes in the power of second chances, if you're willing to take them. Time and again, the moral of the story is that you are only ever as good as the people who have your back -- but you have to be willing to let them have your back. Let people help you. Let people cook for you. Let people give you a reason to keep living. And then keep living.
Tumblr media
Also, Sui Zhou gets two good kabedons off on that little twink, which means they're legally married now. I don't make the rules.
Bonus: Banger opening theme
youtube
This is one you will watch all 48 times.
Bonus #2: The Halo Video
youtube
This is the video that made me go, huh, these Sleuth boys seem like other boys I've enjoyed! Perhaps I shall enjoy them as well! And then I did. So if that might be convincing to you too, well, have at it. Even if it isn't, it's a fascinating three-minute study of shared those-boys-are-in-love visual language across these shows.
Fair warning that it contains shots from right up to the end, so if you'd rather go in completely blank, give this one a pass until later. (Excuse me while I now go watch it for the 10000th time.)
Have I convinced you to watch it yet?
It originally ran on iQiyi, though Viki's got it as well, and Viki's is free if you're willing to put up with some ads about it.
...I just noticed iQiyi's description of the series reads, "When the two handsome leading actors Darren Wang and Fu Meng-Po work together, what will happen? A lovely prefectural judge and an arrogant embroiered [sic] uniform guard join hands to crack unusual cases! Are you going to choose a new idol?" And you know what? Yes. The details are a little off, but that is the correct spirit. Thank you, thirsty blurb.

I knew knew KNEW that Nate taking control of his own life and taking responsibility for his shit and making the effort to be a better man and not care so much about others approval for the sake of approval and to just do things he's proud of and makes him happy would be represented by him finally accepting the 'Wonder Kid' nickname.
I loved this episode for him. Nate quit and wasn't pushed. The support from Jade and his mum. His dad being honest with him (and Nate being honest in return). Also I had to Google if Nick Mohammed actually could play the violin or not (he can) because he looked very comfortable with that violin and he actually had proper hand placement so I was 90% sure that he could. And him reaching out first not to the biggest names on the team but to Will. Because he's been there and he probably knows that is where he started to go down the wrong path.
Also Keeley and Barbara was a small arc I expected but I was happy to see it play out exactly like I thought it would. Predictability isn't bad when it's an arc that works and makes you feel good about the characters and their journeys. I also thought that Keeley and Roy would be resolved by him realising his was a fucking idiot, genuinely apologising without any expectation and then Keeley either slowly forgiving him or accepting it 100% because she is that sort of forgiving person who doesn't hold things against people. It was nice that there was a bit of 'that wasn't the brightest idea but I hope it works out for you' with regards to them falling back together so quickly but I'm sure they will work it out from now on.
As for Jamie...his character growth remains phenomenal. I half believe the OT3 expectations and half believe it was all just him becoming Roy's bestie because I think either is actually perfectly plausible and a fitting resolution haha.
Rebecca and her defense of football and getting genuine respect and regard from a room full of rich, white men? Brilliant. The fact that she also seemed to accept that her relationship with Rupurt is now also completely in the past and she's able to look back and see both the good and the bad times without it affecting her going forward? Wonderful.
All in all this episode was very healing. Despite the sad tone to the beginning (with Keeley and Nate going through it) overall it felt very uplifting and empowering and like everything was starting to come together.

Do you have any headcanons for radiohuskerdust dynamic?
Im so sorry this took so long to reply to i literally let out a screech of joy when i got it and wanted to wait till i was home for the day so i could properly reply LOL
GOD YES I HAVE SOME♡ I HAVE MANY EEE
Overall i view Alastors role here as some flavor of queer platonic— he has the potential to be a caring partner but doesn't care much for romance specifically (yes my aromantic ass is projecting a lil shhhh)
My personal favorite take for them in canon is that eventually over the course of Alastors redemption he does eventually let Husk go— i have. Many feelings on that whole situation too but this is gonna be long already so SJDKEKDK just know i see them eventually getting to a point where they accept that neither of them are perfect and can let things go. Alastor considers Husk a very dear friend, and does in fact hold a high amount of respect for him, and Husk feels the same (although hes a little more Tsundere about it sksksksk)
Angel is very much so the glue that holds this ot3 together LOL
Like i think both Husk and Alastor fall for him first and through Angel find a way to actually communicate over the strange mix of feelings they've had with each other. Angels good at reading other people, he can tell they have *something* going on and isn't afraid to point it out.
I constantly see people making Angel hate Alastor but sorry no i do not agree at all.
Despite the initial impressions of each other, Alastor and Angel would be FANTASTIC friends. Once Alastor understands that Angels humor is just that, humor, hes not actually expecting anything from Al, he starts meeting Angel halfway on his jokes, adding onto them. Once they start to realize they can bounce off each other and actually bond oh god its OVER.
Alastor finds Angel actually very charming to be around, and Angel realizes Alastor isn't a prude or anything he just has some firm walls up.
God they'd be INSUFFERABLE together
You know that post thats like "i ship this ship but like specifically as a comedy duo" yeah thats radiodust in my heart LOL
They'd be the bane of Husks existence together.
Also Alastor is capable of being a huge gentleman and i can see him treating Angel to fancy dinners and "Dates". Alastor has no care for romance but he knows how to treat someone well and Angel basks in the attention.
They'd just VIBE so well!! Maybe its bc i spent years watching the hunniecast streams but god i think Radiodust make such a fun duo. If they put their heads together they can be a menace to society.
Alastor also gives off cheek/hand kiss vibes. He would do that shit and Angel is a sucker for it (both Husk and Alastor would treat him so well okay spider boy deserves it)
Husk and Angel have the most "Romantic" dynamic of the three ofc, and Alastor is happy to spend their date nights off doing his own thing. Huskerdusts dynamic is pretty much exactly as canon— i don't have many notes to add to it i Genuinely love how canon is handling them so far.
I won't dive off into nsfw here kwkfkwkd but i DO have thoughts on how that would work in this lineup.
I will say overall i see Angel as hypersexual, Husk as Demi, and Alastor as a sex neutral-Ace.
Like he just doesn't GET it but he can find some compromises if one of his partners askes.

Okay so I feel weird about this but at the same time I kinda feel like it's necessary but idk. Maybe I'm overthinking, hence why I'm talking about it here.
So. I have a fic I'm working on, and the context is that it's a ship fic and one of the characters has Dissociative Identity Disorder (not canonically, I'm giving him this because I think it'd be a fun alternate universe idea to explore and because I have DID and I want to write my fave to be like me). There are two alters, one of whom (A) is in love with the other member of the ship (C), and the other of whom (B) hates him and thinks he's bad for A.
So. Now that y'all have context. Eventually, B starts to warm up to C, and there's a particular scene I'm thinking of where he flirts with him and kisses him, and C is under the impression that he's talking to A. Obviously that part is dubiously consesnual but it's not the part I'm worried about, it gets cleared up pretty quickly, that part I'm worried about after that is when C knowingly has sex with B even though technically at this point the only alter who he's dating is A, again, this is obviously not great but in universe it ends up fine and that's more the part I'm concerned about.
Basically, long story short is this: Would it be condescending to put a note saying "Hey, this part is undernegotiated and would not be okay in real life"? I feel like someone could reasonably end up copying this in the real world if they end up dating a member of a system, in part because system etiquette isn't common knowledge and also because a lot of people for some reason have way too much difficulty with the concept that someone can have more than one person in their head and have all of them be separate and distinct from each other (the real life example I can think of was someone who was being intentionally obtuse about the whole situation, but I know that genuinely confused people do exist in this area). It also doesn't help that the particular fandom this is for is one that has very little if any familiarity with systemhood.
I don't know. I don't want to be condescending (gods know I have trouble enough avoiding that), but at the same time, I really, really, really don't want someone to get the idea that just because you're dating one member of a system means that you're dating the entire system from my fic just because I wanted to ship both blorbos with the other blorbo in an OT3 situation and think dubcon is hot. I guess what I'm saying is that under the circumstances I don't trust that people, and in particular singlets, will immediately recognize that the situation is dubiously consensual the way that I do since systemhood is not a very widely known or understood concept outside of innacurate and even stigmatizing depictions in mainstream media.

Listen I know this is going to get controversial but these are my favorite ships for each Doctor:
Nine/Rose or Nine/Rose/Jack (refer to my OT3 post about Nine x Rose x Jack or just...all of Nine and Rose's character development for Season 1 for reasons)
Ten/Martha (but like Season 4 Ten/Martha after they are on more equal footing/the Doctor has realized how he fucked up, they would have been legendary)
Eleven/Amy/Rory (in that sweet spot post-Season 5, pre-God-Complex)
Twelve/Missy (this is the one version of the Thoschei ship that could actually work out long term, and though I love the batshit deranged energy of TenSimm and SpyDoc, this is the variation I think complements each other best in not just their feral energy/foils to each other, but also in their genuine understanding of each other and devotion to each other)
Thirteen/Jack (I really want to say Thasmin but Thirteen/Jack fascinates me so much you have no idea, all of that history, all of that guilt and outsurviving everyone and understanding each other like no one else does...it's a ship that lives mostly on headcanon but hey, most Doctor ships live mostly on headcanon)
(And this isn't even getting into my non-canon ships for the magical universe where continuity between showrunners could have worked... R.I.P. to Eleven x Rose, Twelve x Martha, and Bill x Thirteen)

Yknow its funny to me that I think it was most people's instinct - including my own - that the ot3 would happen between Sean and Jean first before approaching Marion to bring him into the fold. But thinking on this episode, it's looking more like Jean and Marion would bring Sean into the fold and him being very confused about it. Confused in a way that he feels undeserving. Might even take it more like 'oh im here to supply more fun, not to have the fun' and perform as a service top or bottom depending on the circumstance. And they have to tell him that no this is a romantic endeavor you idiot we love you and want you here with us all the time, even when you are hurting, Mr. 'I'm taking care of everyone so dont nobody dare try to take care of me' Finnerty
I am scrubbing back through the VOD right now and absolutely reeling at how exceedingly bisexual it is that it takes one minute of game time after regaining consciousness in Jean's arms before Marion calls for Sean and they make a let's-hold-Marion sandwich
this episode rocked the axis of all three of them in my mind. like. the interactions Jean and Marion had in episode one had this almost schoolkid innocence to them, and I think a lot of the bottom table trio shippers, including me, wanted to play with the chemistry of Jean and Sean first and toss in the sweet romantic secret sauce of Marion after.
but?? Jean witnessed and then forgot (or willfully blocked out) her dad performing an exorcism on Marion as a child? and he clearly did NOT forget her and started a somewhat ambiguous but obviously romantic relationship with her in which she has already touched his scar??
the angles of care here? episode two started what, a handful of days after the first episode? Jean still has a funeral to plan, but taking care of Marion is clearly a welcome distraction and when she's not actively doing that, she's looking out her window for EONS surveillance and having flashbacks to her dad dying. (to talk about later: the decision to have Zehra play Jinnah's father in Marion's dream, holy shit)
the fact that she now has a skill on her character sheet that lets her detect the "ailment, stress, or loss a person has in their life"??? oh boy, oh god, detecting sure isn't the same thing as fixing, is it? :))))))))))))))
and Sean?? the isolation? "I don't have anything. I don't have anything." "the last thing I need is anyone to come fucking take care of me." Sean's posture in the Silverslip chapterhouse when Jean was holding Marion?? genuinely, to your point, the only way they're going to get that man into bed and subsequently into a relationship is by making him feel useful.
if they all live that long, of course :)
om nom nom nom nom. tonight we feast, and tomorrow I start drafting a "three times Jean and Marion invited Sean over, and one time he said yes" fic. because you know what can fix the way that episode ended?? healthy polyamory!

Hils Watches Strong Woman Do Bong Soon - Ep 6
Tumblr media
God I hope the rest of the drama is like this. Everyone just bickering about who should share a bed with who.
Tumblr media
Sweetie, gay men are still men.
Tumblr media
Oh my god they're all imagining the other two making out so of course Do Bong Soon is picturing this
Tumblr media
So all three of you should sleep together?
Tumblr media
I know the answer is 'because boys are Like That' but these two have had a game of pool and a game of darts. Doesn't Do Bong Soon get to play?
Tumblr media
Poor Do Bong Soon doesn't get to have any fun. I mean I understand them not letting her drink given last time she trashed a bar and ended up all over social media. But let her play some of your stupid pissing contest games!
Tumblr media
Wow. Okay. Sure. I thought this was just going to be a run of the mill het drama. I definitely was not expecting this. There had better be OT3 fics on AO3
Tumblr media
She is touching both of their butts. Good for her!
Tumblr media
And now they're snuggling in the back of a car
Tumblr media
I have not known peace since @literaryoblivion pointed out how often characters in dramas sleep with the lights on
Tumblr media
I genuinely laughed out loud at the look on Ahn Minhyuk's face when Do Bong Soon pretended she couldn't open a jar of jam
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Apparently what happened between the drinking contest and them falling asleep in each other's arms on the pool table was them slow dancing and almost making out????
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'm being queerbaited and I'm not mad about it?
Tumblr media
I love how whenever she uses her strength around him he just loses his mind. He'll totally call her 'sir' in the bedroom.
Tumblr media
There is so much gender and sexuality going on in this drama. He legit just said that when he's around Do Bong Soon he feels like the female lead in King Kong
Tumblr media
He's already imagining having super strong babies with her. I love a drama where the man is just weak for his amazing woman.
Tumblr media
Oh no is she going to break up with him? I mean good she should have done it ages ago.
Tumblr media
Aww he spent one night with them and he's already calling it home.
Tumblr media
Yesssssss! Fake dating!
Tumblr media
I mean obv they are not actually dating but I do think he wants to marry her
Tumblr media
Like, idk, the dude in the scrap yard that you (the cops not her) asked about a car and then left alone?
Tumblr media
Aww because he likes Do Bong Soon.
Look, I know this isn't going to end in an OT3. I just hope it doesn't disappoint me like My Roommate is a Detective did. I am still mad about how that drama ended.
Tumblr media
Okay, true. But he isn't straight either. I mean, dude, you almost kissed him the other night and ended up sleeping in his arms.
Tumblr media
Okay, I don't think that's the dude from the scrap yard. I have no idea who that is. Except that he was in the pharmacy in the previous scene.

You said to ask you about your takes about Merlin, and I always find it interesting to find out which angle people approach an ot3 of, so which edge of the triangle arthur/merlin/gwen was the first you shipped? Or was it the full ot3 right away? 👀
Ah, yes. When I started watching Merlin back in 2019, the very first thing I shipped was Merthur.
I usually don't start shipping right away, I start looking at the different dynamics and wait where it may take me. And the very first episode left all dynamics open. So, I wasn't an instant Merthur fan but I could tell that this was where I was heading.
Even though I wanted to ship Merlin x Gwen first because Gwen had a crush on Merlin and Merlin was oblivious and Arthur was an arse in season 1. I still knew I would end up a Merthur main.
Back in 2019 I was still working through a lot of stuff when it comes to relationships, sexuality, identity, trauma, etc, It sounds weird but what I needed at the time, was characters that I couldn't "be" and that also couldn't be attracted to me. The reason for that is too personal to post here but that's why I distanced myself from female characters in ships at the time. That's why I knew Mergwen wouldn't be where I'd end up. I didn't hate them, I just couldn't deal with certain things.
And then came the Elena episode in which Merlin tells Arthur that he will be a better king with a woman by his side whom he loves. I was already lowkey shipping Merthur by then, but THAT scene burned itself into my DNA and changed me forever. I LOVE that scene! If I ever had any doubts until then, they were gone the moment Merlin hands Arthur the sword and says: " I think you're mad."
I knew from the beginning that Merthur wouldn't end up canon, and that without looking at spoilers. The show is from 2012, I just knew. In fact, I was delighted with how FAR they took it despite that!
And I absolutely loved how the canon ship actually made sense. And Ioved how it was a learning curve for me too, to see them grow to make sense. In the beginning it felt a bit sudden but when I watched the show again, I realized just how many moments they actually had.
Plus, Gwen wasn't a mere love interest, she was a real character. Basically, she passed the bechdel test, lmao. I love that she's a blacksmith, that she had her own story arc, her own tragedies and losses, a full family that we SEE in the show, etc. And I loved her dynamic with Arthur growing from awkward to genuine. I always thought that relationshipwise, they were one of the best portrayals of lovebirds I've seen in a series in a long time. And BBC merlin is PG so that was a bonus. And they always had space for Arthur's friendship with Merlin. (This is very important to me, as an ace person who used to think they would lose their friends due to their relationships)
And well... years have passed and I slowly got over my trauma through writing fanfiction and some mild confrontation therapy. There was one fic especially, that paved the way for Mergwenthur. I think that one was Wired... (2021) in which time is a circle and Merlin lives long enough to see Arthur be born again. In that one I tried to be as close to canon as I could, while also writing a Merthur story. Originally, Arthur was meant to choose Merlin, but during the darkest hour, in which the story begins, he's already head over heels for Gwen. And the more I tried to grasp Arthur's feelings after the magic reveal, the less possible it was for me to not see Mergwenthur.
As Arthur starts realizing his fellings for Merlin, his feelings for Gwen don't change, because why would they? The feelings were different but they were both of love. And when I tried to characterize Gwen, I ended up thinking of their three person date in season 4(?) in which Arthur says:" Isn't it nice to be here? Just the two of us?" And it's GWEN who says: "you mean, the THREE of us. " When I thought of that, I just couldn't imagine that Gwen didn't already know and accept Arthur's feelings. And I couldn't imagine Merlin wanting Arthur to choose him over Gwen. While at the time, Mergwen wasn't really on my mind, I thought this was where the story was naturally progressing, so I let it.
I've always been a multishipper. But this dynamic is important to me. I've analized their relationship a couple of times and come to the conclusion that Gwen is the better Queen (some people like to call Merlin Arthur's queen). Because her relationship with Arthur is build on mutual goals and their future vision of Camelot. Their relationship is reasonable and healthy. I think their love is very soft but strong. While Merthur is just unhinged soul bond, ready to sacrifice everything for each other, including Camelot. Merlin would be a terrible Queen, like, seriously. Camelot would be destroyed the moment Arthur gets abducted once. Their love is intense and fickle in the sense that they can't live without the other. And Mergwen should have had more moments. Gwen was always the one person picking up that some things about Merlin were a bit odd, like the Lamia episode, or servant of two masters, etc.. I feel like Mergwen is a ship that's friendship first and can be both wholesome and completely mad, depending on which of the two indicates the action.
So, it was a bit of a curve for me. I ship them individually, I ship them together, apart, with other characters, everything. But the more I look into the show, the more sense Mergwenthur makes to me. Regardless of whether they are platonic or not, I can't unsee them. And why would I? they are fun.
Haha, this answer was very long, but I hope it answers your question :D

1x03, rewatch, part 1.
I keep forgetting how awfully mean Rebecca is in s1! Wow, she is something else.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
:)
Tumblr media
this freaking show <3
Tumblr media
the fact that from the very beginning Jamie is presented as their best player aka "they know he's the best & they'll follow him". fast forward to "you've made him a team player" and during it he kinda lost his greatness. the fact that even Roy was like, "be a jerk when the situation needs it to be!" (2x06 if I remember correctly, correct me if i'm wrong) the fact that Roy was one of the first people who believed in Jamie when even Ted and Beard didn't think Jamie can score and win the game for them. Roy still did bc Roy knew him longer & knew Jamie's potential. Roy and Jamie's dynamic was absolutely unhinged from the very beginning, and I love that.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
MY BABIES. the way Keeley looks at him. gosh, I miss this ship. ot3 can be so great, c'mon!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
''star player" Jamie is just sooo <3 also, the fact that Keeley just knows Jamie's reaction. like, for how long were they together at this point? i don't think we learned about that. Jamie loved her very, very much & i feel like he still does in s3, he's just being very accountable and decent on that point.
and Keeley dating Jamie in s1 not bc she's bored or bc she wants the same attention Jamie gets. she genuinely, truly loves knows and love him.
seriously, ot3 would WORK. like, I'm all in for RoyJamie, but if they add Keeley into that & Jamie gets to love her again, I wouldn't be exactly complaining.
on that mental thing though: i do wish Jamie got into therapy sooner. there is so much trauma in that boy & he deserves the absolute best.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and people in s3 screamed that Keeley's bisexuality came out of nowhere lol. she was fascinated with Rebecca since 1x01, and her AND Ted giving Rebecca those compliments really is telling.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
please and thank you. this is self-indulgent for when s3 ends.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I LOVE THIS SHOW SO MUCH. also, Jamie. <3
Tumblr media Tumblr media
can you BELIEVE what these two have become in s3? can you?
Tumblr media
like, Jamie constantly tries to ignore Ted's motivational speeches and takes selfies in the locker room. just... yeah, kiddo. you're gonna be a star one day, but not in the way you can imagine, not yet.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
wheezing. oh baby boy. :') I wonder how many takes it took them for Phil to throw the book right into trash can and make it look like Jamie did it on his first try.
Tumblr media
for later.
Tumblr media
Jamie and his bitchy mouth. :')
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
is it me or is Roy more timid at some point in s1 than in s2 and s3? he's not sure whether he should voice his opinion, he isn't often looking for a fight unless he's really mad, and he won't make commentaries like "this is a pretense conversation and i'm trying to pretend that i give a shit." Roy that once considered the best, then Jamie came up, became the best and they were bickering ever since. then Roy finds himself in coaching and no longer has to compete with Jamie, even finds a good friend in him, and things change drastically. he's so much more confident later on in the show.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
and Ted SAW it and pushed him. hell yeah.
damn it, there is SO much in Roy and Jamie's relationship since day ONE.

Man being a multishiper in the m!ik fandom is so hard, not because there isn't anything to ship or that the ships are bad, there's just so much and it's all so good. Naming the two that I come across more often here,
Like ameri x iruma? Fabulous ship, a girl boss with her short king, where there personalitys aren't changed to please each other, or a surtan view or boxes to mach, they strive forward knowing that the other is cheering them on and waiting for them at the end of the line.
The love trio ? The best ot3 dynamic that doesn't seem forced and has some of the best moments in the manga and anime, they're soulmates your honour. Where the other two don't circle around only our mc they have a genuine bond with each other as well.
There's a lot going on in m!ik shipping fandom at least and while there are some weird ones out there that makes one wonder about the well being of a person, it's also very fun .

It's the second-to-last day of my vacation. I went for a very nice hike and then made an executive decision to curmudgeon the fuck out. (Being Autistic/an introvert, vacations around people are actually very stressful for me.)
Anyway, I got a lot of writing done--a sketch about a man trying to get off a roller coaster, except the roller coaster is a metaphor and I'll pitch for my (virtual) grad review.
But in terms of fic stuff, I worked on an old Garou x Genos story that had been rattling around in my head for a long time, and I apparently got some bonus "Saigarou if you squint" stuff. sorry not sorry the "brotp & sometimes ot3 tag" exists for a reason.
Somewhere at some point, somebody (maybe you? please tell me if it's you!) thought, "what if other characters have visions of this different reality that was so narrowly avoided at the end of the monster arc? what if it shows up in dreams?" and, well, my brain took that and ran.
assume they just went for a run or something together and now they're having breakfast.
Garou: I keep having nightmares. Nightmares where I hurt him. Nightmares where we save the world together. Where you save the world from... me. Does that sound weird? Is that crazy? Saitama: No, no, it's not. I get it. And let me guess--you're on earth, but it isn't earth anymore. It's a dead planet. And I'm fighting you, but you aren't you. Garou: shit, yeah. that's exactly what happens. but why are we having the same dreams? Saitama, with genuine disregard: dunno, isn't that supposed to be a soulmates thing? [[Garou spits coffee]] Garou: I honestly do not know which scenario is more terrifying. one where I accidentally destroy the world, or one where you are my soulmate. Saitama: the first problem solves the second one, though, doesn't it?
[[uncomfortable pause]] Garou: I am taking all of these bagels and I am leaving immediately.
