i found a book abt the anti lawn movement at the library & decided to sit out in my yard & read it. but ironically there was a neverending barage of power tool noises making it difficult to focus. so i walked to a nature park near me in order to escape the dreaded sounds. almost stopped at the mowed picnic table area bc i hate walking but fortunately pushed forward and made myself walk up an annoying hill to an area that is a preservation of a native oak savanna & sat down against a tree near the edge of the path & did my reading there. and honest to god that was a 100/10 experience. there was something so powerful abt being in a preserve for a locally native habitat while reading abt the impacts homeowners can have on native plant preservation! it powered up my energy towards my life mission (evangelize abt enviormentally sustainable gardening to every single person who comes within a 10 ft radius of me) by like. 15 points. also a deer walked up to me and that was super cool

#i was there for like 3 hours and i wanted to stay longer #but the sun was setting and i was hungry and had to pee super bad #gonna try to do this tommorow as well. bc ik winter is gonna hit soon #and then its not gonna be plausibe #i still heard Industrial Noises up there but i used my noise cancelling headphones #& that blocked most of it out #ive finallt started progressing on writing persuasive essay on this subject #previously id focoused my efforts mostly on reaserching the practical side of like. how to covert ur yard #+ what plants to use. etc #but now im looping background writing abt the actual reasoning behind it #which like. i feel like i needed zero actual persuasion to get on board w this. which is why i didnt #dedicate to much time to reaserching the 'why' #but i do a whole lot of promoting this subject to people i meet so i might as well read up & #try & create a more comprehensive & detailed resource to send to ppl #after i give them my Rip Up Your Lawn talk #i mean i give them the gardening advice resources. but i think some ppl need extra convincing & thats what this is for #LAWN LAWN RIP UP UR LAWN. Whew look at you go! Had a small problem with aphids a lil while back, but after a whole lot of diligence they were banished. Still have some of the damaged leaves visible but look at all the healthy new growth!

You may be trying to take over my desk, but I couldn’t ask for a better art companion. The moss in the planter is happy with the frequent watering and shade, but the impatiens is trying to devoir the terrarium moss now too

My oxalis is thriving still, too. But it has its own space above me and isn’t trying to reach out and say hello as much.

Panel 2: Dedusmuln slams their elbow down on their audience right hand, holding down their glove while still holding the burrito. Somsnosa and Wayne's expressions change to one of interest. Pongorma's expression does not change.

Pane 3: Dedusmuln begins to pull their arm out of the pinned down glove, showing what looks to be vines or leaves beginning to emerge. Somsnosa raises one eyebrow while Wayne's expression returns to a neutral expression. Pongorma continues to hold the same stoic expression.

Panel 4: Dedusmuln's hand is now free of the glove. They turn their head in the direction of the the free hand which is crossed over their audience left shoulder. The hand is made of five long leaves that look like the leaves of a sundew - Bright green with red tendrils covering the tips, little dots of what looks to be dew on the ends. Somsnosa's eyes are widened in shock. Wayne and Pongorma's faces have not changed.

Panel 5: Dedusmuln has placed the burrito where their leaves can begin to wrap around it, Somsnosa's mouth dropping into an expression of horror while her eyes remain wide. Wayne and Pongorma appear to be unaffected.

Panel 6: Dedusmuln has fully wrapped the burrito in their leaves now and sits with their other arm resting on the table, the scales on their face turned into an upturned expression. Somsnosa squints her audience left eye in horror, mouth still agape. Wayne and Pongorma still are staring neutrally.

Panel 7: Dedusmuln opens their leaves and the burrito is now gone. Somsnosa's expression is now one of both eyes being slightly squinted while she wears a deep frown.

Panel 8: We now see everyone from behind, with Dedusmuln in the distance on the upper left of the image. They turn back with to the group, waving at them. A word bubble that is more of a wavy shape than the rest of them says "Thank you for the burrito, Wayne!" Wayne's reply is "Sure ...". Pongorma's arm is raised to their mouth as they call to Dedusmuln: "Esteemed Archaeologist. You are my dearest friend. That is the worst thing I have seen since the accretion!". Somsnosa simply has "..." over her head.

And on the topic of my newest AU, here's some additional information:

-Sonic had no idea what was happening to the world because of his powers, especially since he had no idea he had said powers in the first place.

-Soon after finding Sonic, Shadow lends him one of his inhibitor rings. He'll be okay for awhile without one and clearly Sonic needed one more.

-Sonic eventually gets his own set of inhibitor rings since he's still got a lot of pent up Chaos Energy. Although after getting more control over his powers he only wears one inhibitor ring.

-It's because of the two above things that Shadow is the second-most person that Sonic is clingy with. It also helps that Shadow can relate to what happened to him more than anyone else in their friend group...

-He hates his powers once he knows about what they did. Doubly so upon learning people died because of them.

-Now he hates being the center of attention, around lots of people, and is just generally not very outgoing anymore. He's only comfortable being around lots of people if they're his friends.

-Eggman is dead. In fact the plants specifically had it out for him due to all the trauma he caused Sonic. (probably for the best since Sonic isn't really in any state to fight or deal with him)

-The only person the plants didn't attack was Tails, much to the confusion of everyone before they rescued Sonic. Although something that was less noticeable was that the plants were also more lenient towards his friends when it came to attacking.

-Has regular prosthetics for awhile until Tails completed the special ones

-The special prosthetics have the additional benefits of helping regulate Sonic's Chaos Energy and allowing him to utilize his super speed.

-Before the special prosthetics, Sonic was still able to go faster than your typical Mobian but it was only a bit above the speed of an athlete.

-Even after the special prosthetics, Sonic is unable to go as fast as before. He's still got that super speed, sure, but Shadow would outpace him quite a lot if they raced.
