i finished it, was kicked out of the game, and then spent the next 10 minutes drawing this. i will now go take a shower, most likely cry, and then go through the emotional turmoil of convincing myself to reset so i can do a geno run. i hate it here :D

Daisey and Lizzy do partake in the Latter teasing, but they usually shut it down if it gets to mean (Latter protection squad say what)

Latter and Eddie besties real, Latter reads his poetry in the post office and Eddie just listens while doing his mailman duties

Honey’s mean to him, but secretly like his poetry. He thinks it’s so bad it’s funny

He runs a poetry club, he’s made a few friends from it too :3

#hl1 gameplay vs hl2 gameplay is maybe my favorite piece of storytelling in half life and its so unintentional #and is clearly just me digging too deep but i love it anyways #hl1 gameplay is so unforgiving and cruel because the game wants you to know you're some scientist with almost zero gun training #going against armed soldiers and it does not want you to forget #you have to play hl1 so differently compared to hl2 or even just a lot of fps games at the time #its a game about strategy and problem solving first and foremost #by hl2 gordon has reached the status of an old legend #a story resistance members tell in order to inspire hope and change #hl2 is so kind and forgiving combat wise compared to hl1 #and i can't help but wonder if its because the narrative has shifted around gordon so much #hes not just 'some theoretical physicist' now hes humanitys savior and final hope #sorry. what was i saying. oh yeah half life is a good series and hl2 is gonna be 20 this year.#half life

i see the “army vet bucky” modern au alternatives for the winter soldier trauma and raise you “life-altering motorcycle accident survivor turned (recovered) painkiller addict bucky”. i think this might be too niche but there’s so many parallels psychologically wrt: the lack of choice inherent in the neurobiology of drug addiction particularly in ppl who started off just taking what was prescribed to them for their pain in like the 90s/early 2000s (when pharma execs Lied about the neurological impacts). the way you kind of lose all that time despite still living it and having the memories, how sometimes the memories feel like they belong to a different person once you get sober. how it separates you from everyone else in your life who Didn’t suffer like that. it’s Compelling. imo.

Actually, now that i think about it... who do yall think would win in a fight? Kyle or kenny?

#Personally i think kenny. But im biased as fuck lol #Every wiki about kenny that mentions combative ability always says that he is the most capable of the boys #And there are several moments in the series that seem to prove this #He took gerald on toe to toe despite being much smaller than him #Same with cartman even though eric was armed with a knife and kenny had nothing #That one time kenny launched himself head first at some enemies #The infamous shuriken incident where his weapon landed dead on target #He seems to be the best with guns (though he mostly uses them on himself lol)#Plus some other stuff i cant remember right now but i know theres more #Also he is immortal so he is more willing to do some things that kyle cant #Im not as fixated on kyle so idk the full extent of his capabilities #I know he is easily goaded into fights. But idk if hes actually good at fighting. He mostly beats up cartman; who isnt physically inclined #Wait post cancelled maybe kyle cut him in half with a chainsaw in pink eye #But then again kenny was a zombie so maybe he wasnt at peak physical condition.
