Lol yeah rip. Fortunately for your Mike, Freddy only seems to get physical with him if it's to help or protect him. Such as grabbing him by the collar as if he's a mother dog carrying her puppy by its scruff or blocking an exit with his massive body if he thinks it's too dangerous for his Mike.

And don't worry, I still love your art as well as your writing! I don't think I will ever stop loving it. And really? Thaaank yooou @justduckie1031 !! The art and stories legit help me stay alive. The Mike and Freddy bromance are the best parts for me and it's inspiring me to make a story of my own based off of that! Of course not even close to being as long but just a cute little story of Freddy basically snarling at anyone who even looks at Mike the wrong way. Sorry, I really should be in your askbox instead of Charlie's lol

I love writing Mike & Freddy, especially since the original plan was gunna be Mike and Foxy, THEN somehow it switched to Marion & Mike and finally we ended up here, with chipper beanpole and lorge angy teddy. I love the Puppet and it's eldritch horror ways, (and Mike ofc does too) but the foil for Mike & Freddy seems to click just as naturally--maybe because Freddy needed someone he can trust as much as Mike did. And yeah! Freddy's physicalness with Mike does stem from the knowledge that if Mike really, truly wanted to, he could challenge Freddy right back or order him out of the way, (Goldy) and Freddy also knows he couldn't hurt Mike if he tried (also Gold)--despite how Mike looks and acts, he's tough as nails ;) Mike doesn't throw his weight around because, after all, you catch more bears with honey than vinegar, and because he knows Freddy's concern stems from love and respect, not anger or desire to control.

I'm always thirsting for good old Mike/Fred bromance fics, so if you ever do write and feel like posting, please do share 80

I kind of put these two together since they were pretty similar (and i hope that’s ok!)

in answer to the second one, though, I came up with Aeric one night at work! (Maybe about three or four days before we closed? So like a month ago.) I work at the Silhouette Studio at Disneyland as one of the pasters so we see all walks of life come in (and I have a tendency to doodle during downtime—I just so happened to be drawing Ian at the time)

One kid walks in with his girlfriend and he has these awesome round glasses and a (definitely fake) varsity jacket, so I got to thinking: what if one of the jocks on the team found a way to appreciate what happened to the school because he wants to go to Willowdale? And he sees that Ian has a sweatshirt for it? And that’s what they bond over? So he turned into more of a sensitive jock (I thought about “bad boy” jock for a hot second but it didn’t sit right with me). He’d be Ian’s first crush—and said jock would definitely be out of the closet.

Development for Aeric turned into more of, “well, what’s both the opposite of Ian, but also something that will help him grow?” So he was popular, but open to Ian’s friends. Extroverted, but not overly pushy about getting Ian socialized. Very smart, but not in the same way Ian is. His name was something a friend and I collaborated over: I had a bunch of Scandinavian names scribbled down, and it was down to “Kelby” or “Aeric.” “Aeric” kind of has that Onward feel to it—both very normal but a little different, so it stuck. “Aldheim” was a great surname for the alliteration, but we kept “Kelby” just for the initials joke: the “AKA” that makes Barley suspicious of him in the first place (also, it’s what the team calls Aeric).

Then it turned into where any conflicts would stem from: hence Aeric’s family life (because I didn’t want any conflict coming from homophobia; it’s been done to death and in this world the rules can be p much made up). Ian has an older brother who helped raise him; Aeric is an only child. Ian has a stepdad he’s still getting to know; Aeric’s stepmom has been the only mother figure in his life and he adores her. Ian kind of idolizes his dad because he never got to know him; Aeric absolutely resents his birth mom for abandoning him and his father and wants nothing to do with her. Ofc most of the time they’re nothing short of adorable because admin is touch starved and needs something cute during this time

So yes, absolutely anyone is allowed to draw Aeric; I invite it! I’m obviously very passionate about these two and I want to just share that with anyone who’s willing to listen (and tag me in your work! I love seeing it). I know this was a long post just talking about how they’re cute, but I hope this answers your questions!

Little Miss Flower - Cai Xukun

(A/N: Hey!! This is for the anon who requested a cai xukun flower shop au!! I hope you like it~ ^^ It was an absolute blast to write, so thank you for requesting <33)

You were just your average, broke student

Trying to make enough money to pay your way through college

So you found a job at this cute little flower shop!

It was only a 5-minute walk away from campus

Surprisingly, it paid pretty well too

And the fact that you loved nature and gardening in general was just an added bonus!!

Occasionally, someone you knew from school would stop by, but most of your customers were nice old ladies and the like

Until one day

When this boy comes into the store

You literally had to do a double-take, because what was CAI XUKUN doing in a flower shop?

To elaborate, he was the school’s bad boy - notorious for cutting class, breaking rules, and sweet talking his way out of trouble with his gang of popular kids

Safe to say, he was pretty much nothing but bad news

At the same time, though, wOW was he attractive

From his sharp features to his powerful gaze, everything about him positively screamed “boyfriend material”

Half the people on campus were already infatuated with him

...including you

And the other half weren’t that far from falling head over heels in love with the boy

The mysterious thing, however, was that while all of his also very attractive and popular friends had no issue breaking hearts left and right, Xukun had always been single

Ofc there were rumors floating around that he had a secret lover or simply wasn’t interested in dating, but nothing he did ever seemed to give credit to these theories

Once, when you were in a nearby coffee shop, you had overheard his friend asking him why he was still single when everyone at school would die for a chance to go on a date with him

“I’m focusing on other things right now, Ziyi. Like, you know, school?”

Pfft yeah right

The next day he hadn’t bothered to show up to psychology, the only class the two of you shared

Likely story there

Anyway, back to where you were now, struggling to understand WHAT ON EARTH he was doing in a goddamn flower shop of all places

It’s not like he had a girlfriend to buy roses for or anything like that

Much to your growing shock, instead of browsing the rows of flowers like most customers did, he headed straight toward the information counter...

...where you were

“Hi,” he said casually

Clad in some jeans and a white t-shirt, he looked nothing like the Cai Xukun you knew from school who would wear a leather jacket even on the hottest of days

Actually, thinking back... this was the first time you had seen him without the signature jacket... and you couldn’t help but think that his arms needed to be shown off more in the future

Get it together, y/n

“Can I... help you?” you managed, a light blush already spreading across your cheeks

“I actually have some questions about the meanings of some flowers? You see... there’s this girl that I really like, and she’s obsessed with flowers. So, could you go over some of the more obscure romantic flowers with me?? I want to show her that I put more thought into a gift than a classic red rose...”

He looked almost shy? Since when did Cai Xukun get shy?

and he also looked really cute, but he already liked someone else so what chance did you have?

“Sure!”

You were a huge gardening nerd so you babbled on about various flowers that had more romantic meanings

He just listened intently and nodded his head as you rambled on about everything from peonies to roses to lilacs

Once you were finally done explaining, his expression turned pensive

You were surprised that he was willing to put so much thought into a gift

He must really like this person, you thought sadly before shaking your head

You never stood a chance anyway, and besides, it was probably for the best

Finally, he said, “I’ll have a bouquet of purple roses with some purple lilac blooms mixed in, if that’s possible?”

You quickly nodded and then set to work arranging the requested flowers for the handsome boy with a practiced ease

“Here you go! You can pay at the cashier,” you told him, directing Xukun towards the other counter in the shop

As he walked away, you sighed wistfully

What you wouldn’t give to be the recipient of those flowers

Pushing the matter to the back of your mind, you went about your day, helping customers and checking on the flowers

But as much you tried to stop it, your mind kept straying to the cute blonde with those purple flowers...

When your shift finally ended, you were surprised to open the door to the back room and see... a very familiar bouquet of roses and lilacs.

The words from earlier that same day came back to you as you approached the flowers

“Purple lilacs signify the first feelings of love, and work especially well with purple roses, which represent love at first sight.”

Noticing a note tied to a lilac stem, you read it with a huge smile on your face

“Dear Little Miss Flower,

I love you.

Ever since I laid eyes on you that one day in psych, I knew that you were the one for me. This may sound cheesy, but none of the other girls could even try to compare once I saw your beautiful face. Call me sometime? I would love to bring you on a date. Maybe we could visit a flower park? Or go and see a movie?

Your love, Cai Xukun”

when i first watched tlok i was. so fucking mad that the writers didn’t pull bolin/korra for a little while bc like they pulled that cringy shit with mak*rra that honestly made me rlly uncomfortable bc he and their relationship stirs up bad memories of my own, but they didnt give sweet, kind, funny bolin a chance with korra? ofc korr*sami is otp but like. bolin and korra deserved a chance together much much much more than mako and korra did tbh

That sucks, and I’m sorry to hear it affected you like that, anon :(

I know I’ve said it before but it bears repeating (especially bc I know how fandom gets about their ships) but I don’t really like, hate m@korra? They’re not my fave, and they have their issues in canon for sure, but just... idk. I don’t particularly like ship bashing, especially when there isn’t something inherently wrong about the pairing, no matter my own feelings towards it.

That said, I agree with you that they do have some,, rather awkward moments. Most of it stems from the writers trying to play into the angsty dramatic love triangle thing. Just like, seeing who they are as people, if they were free to have a relationship without Asami being in the picture as a romantic rival, I think they wouldn’t have been so bad? They really do have some nice moments throughout the series, and like, there’s a reason they stay friends throughout all four books, y’know? It was mentioned in a previous post that they seem to fall more for these idealized versions of each other, than like actually each other, so I feel they would’ve inevitably fizzled out anyway.

But yeah I just... I’ll never understand why Bolin was completely dropped as an option? He’s cute, he’s sweet, he’s funny, and he’s got big ole heart eyes for Korra from day one!!! What isn’t appealing about that?? I still don’t think they would’ve lasted forever, but damn I wish they’d had more than like one episode. Even if they only lasted a season, I think they would’ve just been so much fun to watch. I’m a sucker for those cheesy romances and just. God they could’ve been so good.

Though I admit I am very happy they ended the “boy likes girl but girl doesn’t like him back” with him moving on from her romantically and them staying good friends because he values her as more than just a girlfriend.
