For the straw of gold spell, I was wondering if there's an alternate version that may work? Use regular sewing thread, spin it on a bobbin with a machine, anoint, place in a jar or something to that effect, and later make things with thr anointed thread? These things can be used to help attract wealth, and anything from little patches to quilts. Perhaps design a spell around these options?
I think an alternate version could certainly be written to include those intentions and methods. The way I wrote it for The Sisters Grimmoire, Straw Into Gold is a money jar spell, but if it gives you an idea to create something of your own, go for it!
Plenty of room for creativity with bobbins and thread. 😊🧵

I saw the list of Native American websites for purchasing goods, but I was wondering if you of any that are in the PMW region? I live in Oregon and would like to purchase closer to home. Thank you!
hi, i only compiled the shops on the list based on links i saw in the notes and what op originally posted
unfortunately i do not know much about the PNW region, but from the list i compiled, Sakari Farms (Inupiaq-owned) is based in Oregon
it would probably be more fruitful to research what is close-by on your own however – op included each shop's indigenous nation, so you could search where each is based. beyond buckskin is a website with more shops listed too

IT'S HERE!!!
Actually, it's been here but that's not the point. The point is that it arrived in time for the second birthday!!
@anotherdayforchaosfay hand-quilts, and she's amazing at it! Initially, this was supposed to be an art trade, but since I got several dozen projects in the divorce* it was easier for my boyfriend and I to pay Chaosfay for this, and more helpful for her too (and she's getting her things as soon as I can wrangle everything into making them be finished)!
This quilt was hand made for the Littlest Awoo, and the extra queer rainbows were definitely encouraged, and the Safari theme matches the theme of the wee laddie's baby stuff, and he's been very excited about the giraffes as he's spotted them since they are his favorite animal.
The stitches are so neat and even, the cotton is so delightfully soft (and will only get softer with age), the fabrics and patterns are so lovely and they all tie together so well. Also, all of us here have been gleefully playing I Spy to see how many of each animal we can find!
Littlest Awoo has been having a lot of fun rolling around and battering this blanket (with a toy giraffe and spider not currently pictured that were made by our friend TJ) since it came out of the box, but he ends up a blur when I try and get pictures, and he still prefers to sleep uncovered or wrapped in the extra plush blankies t like the unicorn blanket under the quilt... So eventually I'll have pictures of this wrapped around him for Chaosfay... and everyone else if I can get one that's faceless!
*if you know about the divorce, you know, but I'm not posting openly about it.

Review of Chaosfay's tarot reading: The Highs and Lows with the Alleyman's tarot
First and foremost: she's very kind and straightforward. The reading was timely and she sent a VERY nice pdf of my reading.
(I also greatly enjoyed the small moments of her sharp wit and humor in our messages)
My question/situation was very centered in the individual interpretations of the cards and in the overall summary.
There were a several cards that had very direct actions to impart, and several with chastisement. In her interpretations, I felt that Chaosfay conveyed the seriousness and directness of the reading well.
I feel that those were warranted, and I feel unhindered and unguilted.
from one reader to another, I smiled so hard at her commentary regarding "jump" and "insistent" cards.
The reading caught so many motifs and themes from my life that I had not included in my question, and really let her connection with her cards shine
I enjoyed this reading very much and strongly reccommend her as a reader.

May I suggest a subscription to McCall's Quick and Easy Quilts? It's a magazine with patterns for beginners that will take all of maybe a weekend to make. I love this magazine and put it to good use. Step-by-step instructions, tips and tricks, and all around amazing.
Thank you!! I will check that out, because a quilt in a weekend sounds like my kind of quilt! I have no idea how you hand quilt your quilts or do paper piecing; just making half square triangles took so long. I am in awe

Please create a drawing/painting/whatever visual of the sloth and caterpillar that we talked about last night. I was high af on edibles (as I am after 9PM every night until further notice) and still can't get that adorable visual out of my head. Sloths often have moss and other plants growing on them because they move so slowly these things can actual thrive. Did you know that a sloth's hair grows a mohawk sort of layout so that all the rainwater drips off them from the high point of the mohawk?
Sloths are so good!! And I have seen the Mohawk in photos before! It feels me with joy
Tho I am focusing my art to my story stuff currently. Trying to draw two characters and I have been- struggling but enjoying it
Commissions are welcome~ lol but yahh
It’s a gorgeous odea! I could take it too far too. A sloth covered in all sorts of lil creatures from bugs to microbes and whatever else I can research. It’d be adorablllee ughhhha

Hagging Out: May [🍵]
Thinking about taking part? Reply to this entry - or send me a DM - and I'll add you to the list of May Hags. 💀
too cruel? did i choose them what they are? or change them from themselves by poisonous charms? but any draught, pure water, natural wine, out of my cup, revealed them to themselves and to each other. change? there was no change; only disguise gone from them unawares -- augusta davies webster, 'circe'
WHO: To join this challenge you must 1.) identify as a hag (trans, non-binary, and dude Hags welcome!), and 2.) be 30 years or older. While not mandatory, all former participants have been some flavor of pagan or witch or Christian, so incorporating the challenge into your practice or devotional schedule isn't just tolerated, it's encouraged!
WHAT: This month we’re sticking shit in a (thoroughly sterilized!) jar, bottle, and/or teapot, then pouring something over the materia to create an infusion. Honey, water, alcohol, vinegar, fruit juice, oil, salt, and sugar are all terrific mediums to infuse using fresh or dried ingredients. Start an infusion, finish an infusion, or simply brag about a recently created infusion that you're feeling rather chuffed with.
WHERE: In the convenience of your home! Unless, of course, you want to be a bit extra. Whatever you decide to do, and wherever you decide to do it, be sure to tag your posts with #Hagging Out so fellow crones can follow along. (Over the past few years we've essentially strong-armed everyone else out of the tag and claimed it as our middle-aged Hag fort, LMFAO.)
WHEN: May 29th-May 31st! Participating Hags are encouraged to complete their challenge and write their entry when it suits their schedule, then pick one of the three "open" days - May 29th, May 30th, or May 31st - to post it.
WHY: To consolidate our strengthening crone powers and exchange tips on the best way of covering stubborn greys. And because it's occasionally nice to be social in the comfort of your own home without actually having people over.
HOW: Create something for the kitchen cupboard, start or finally finish a more serious project for workings, or even use the theme as an excuse for a tea party in the garden (or getting witch-faced next to a roaring fire). Don’t get too hung up on the idea that participation needs to be food-based - this challenge is all about appreciating the season, creating something for future use, and working with what’s available (and maybe learning some new skills along the way). Feel free to riff and push boundaries, that’s what this is all about!
💀 May Hags: @msgraveyarddirt @pagan-stitches @satsekhem @moeder-geit @wildwood-faun @woolandcoffee @rootandrock @friend-crow @thedosianexplorer @liminalblessings @furmity @prairiefirewitch @crazycatsiren @buddyblanc @inbacchaegloriam @passifloramoonlight @anotherdayforchaosfay @rose-colored-tarot

Alright. Todays dress is a self drafted intepretation of retro housewife asthetic with a bee theme. Featuring a colorblocked contrast sweetheart bodice with princess seams and a patchwork star circle skirt. All together there are roughly 42 pieces all cut out and steamed to a lovely flatness. I'll bring starting with the trickiest join that @anotherdayforchaosfay helped me learn how to do a few weeks ago. I'd really been struggling to bring this style to the 3D environment and couldnt have done it without her help. Picture updates to follow:)
Edit: this curved 90 degree angle join is the devil. When you finally see it you may think "its just two things together, how hard can it be" and thats voice is also the devil

When my my middle sister (I'm the Eldest Daughter, 2 years older than my middle sister) started high school, she bought a pair of crab earrings that glowed in the dark. When she wore them for the first time at school, she happily announced "Look! I have crabs!" She couldn't understand why everyone was laughing so hard until I pulled her aside and explained why. I have never seen someone blush to a shade of purple. It was on a Friday, so she had all weekend to recover. She didn't wear then again until we moved (military) and never again announced she had crabs.
She should get on tumblr, where crabs are a badge of honor. And crabs.

Last song: tulsa's last magician by willi carlisle, because apparently it's a Songs That Take Me From Zero To Crying in sixty seconds flat kind of morning
Currently watching: survivor 💀 i have a survivor personality now. it's spouse's fault.
Currently reading: i just (JUST) finally finished Pontypool Changes Everything after putting off the last fifteen pages for a century. i'm different now. i Was reading The Silent Cry: Mysticism and Resistance by Dorothee Soelle but idk, i'm struggling a little bit to get into it. i feel like the timing isn't quite right, so when i'm done chewing on pontypool i might switch to waiting for god by simone weil. or one of the 10,000 papers from Academia i have saved for "later." my next fiction book will probably be. piranesi? or moby dick, the whale weekly folks look like they're having fun.
Current obsession: i just started trying in earnest to play pathologic again so if that goes well i expect it to take over my life for the next 3-6 months. otherwise. knitting and crochet. half my wips are in time out for reasons of Need To Wash Them but check out this lace scarf i'm working on

@anotherdayforchaosfay I only have the one style of pants right now, but the leg width goes up with sizing. So if you're able to size up, you can can get baggier legs that way! The joggers have drawstrings so really you can wear any size at or above your true size.
As an example: Here's some pics of my little brother, who's really a size SM, wearing 2X-3X joggers.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Joggers shown are by Fresh Hot Flavors)
Of course if you wear a 4X-5X, then that's already the top end of my current size range for joggers, but you can still check the sizing chart to see if the legs will be loose enough to be comfortable 😊
