Day 3, 2022 What we say to ourselves matters. I had a friend text me today and she didn’t even say hello she blasted off with “I’m fat, I’m obese, I’m fat and lazy because of my weight” Those words hit my heart for her. What she was doing was venting a frustration to me which is absolutely welcome and in no way am I diminishing her feelings or frustration but within that venting which hit me hard for her was the negative nouns she gave herself. When we give ourselves the negative nouns I believe we are are telling ourselves we can’t. So again I say, what we tell ourselves matters. What are you telling yourself? Day 2, 2022 So today started like this but it’s not all and because on the other side of testing has been a day of resting and pottering which is a rarity in my world. Day 1, 2022… So the back end of 2021 was well and truly upside down and backwards. Professionally things have been unexpectedly amazing but it came at the cost of my focus on my health journey because, like many of us in this crazy season, I was just keeping my head above water. This year it is all about literally one step at a time because now Covid and testing and isolation and casual contacts and close contacts are now a part of our lives making it all just that little bit more unpredictable How do we deal with the unpredictable? Make a plan BUT be flexible with it. For some the flexible part is difficult but now more than ever we need embrace the flexible in our lives. It won’t hurt us but it will enable us to live well amongst the unpredictable. Can you be flexible? Day 313… Screen intensive day meant I was desperate to get out of the house today so off to dinner by the harbour with my lovely @helen_thesillyartist We truly live in the best city in the world and to share this view and time out with such a stunning human is just what the doctor ordered Being a day pre-cycle meant mild cramping and zero motivation to work out so a post dinner walk around the harbour meant I was still moving my body and any movement is better than none. Day 279… Had the most delicious catch up with my beauty @alarnadonovan_ today and we decided to walk this Excellent in theory because for some unknown reason over the course of lockdown I’ve decided I love a good nature walk however… Clearly when you’ve sat on your butt for 4 months your reduced capacity body is going to clap back and ooof, clap back it did!!!! My gorgeous Alarna then gave me the grace and understanding that I was absolutely not giving myself as I was too busy being mortified and mentally punishing myself for my fitness regression Thank God for beautiful friends who are there for you and the fact that my gym opens on Monday!!!! Day 214… INHALA•EXHALA Not gonna lie, things since the lockdown extension have felt rough. It has been one thing after another after another and then BAM lockdown… At first I was so super grateful for the downtime (although things kept rolling along) always with the thought of “it’s only 2 weeks” and then it was 4 and then each day blurred into the next We all deal with things in our own way and for the most part I am the perpetual optimist but after last week’s announcement the optimist left the building (momentarily) Since then I’ve tried desperately to find the beauty and return to optimism and today as when I arrived at Mum & Dad’s I looked up and it is Magnolia city and I felt hope bubble up for the first time in a while I don’t usually talk about the down times but right now I feel like it’s desperately important remind ourselves that it’s ok to feel not great and in those moments it’s important to reach out. Day 142... Hi my name is Belinda and it’s been 23 days since my last work out 🤦🏻‍♀️ (pic 1 Thursday’s workout; pic 2 Friday’s workout) Once again (and super annoyingly) my schedule has taken over my health journey and the inconsistency of my workouts has meant that the two sessions I managed with @zanebernhard were harder to get through than they should have been You guys know I say it all the time... consistently is key (at least for me) otherwise it will always be a struggle and you remain as you are That all being said, the answer is to not beat yourself up over what you’ve wanted to achieve and not done but to pick up, keep trying and remind yourself everyday why you do what you do At present my crazy schedule is crazy because I, like everyone, am rebuilding my business post Covid and for this period of time it means long hours. That is the why I work as hard as I do but now it’s time to marry the why for my business with the why for my workouts and that why is simple... Day 119... Day 118...
