this year, I kept a reading log spreadsheet of all of the fanfiction I read. so, assuming I don't read anything else in these last few hours of 2022, these are my final stats. here is my ao3 wrapped!

i read 496 fics this year. these are surely rookie numbers 😃 (this picture isn't even the entire spreadsheet)

my total words read in fanfiction this year is 6,227,818. 6. million. and 22 thousand. words. 24 of these fics, or about 5% of the fics read, were of a length equivalent to that of a standard fiction novel, which is a length of 40,000 words at the lowest average count. I feel like it's necessary to state here that, whenever I read incomplete fics, I put their current word count, but when the fics updated, I did NOT update the listings, so this number is an estimate

my no.1 fandom this year was stranger things! at 74% and 441 fics read, a surprise to no one. the runners up are the legend of zelda, in no.2, with 24 fics and 11% of my reading, and avatar the last airbender, in no.3, with 18 fics and 8% of the stuff I read!

my no.1 pairing this year was byler, with 57% at a count of 289 fics read! again, a surprise to no one! runners up are, no.2, ronance, with 67 fics and about 14% of the fics I read, and no.3, steddie, with 58 fics and 12% of the stuff I read

my highest month for fanfiction reading was july! of the 496 fics I read this year, 162 of them were read in july, which is about 33%.

468 of the fics I read this year were completed when I read them, which is about 94%.

the author I read the most from was @andiwriteordie, with 34 fics, which is about 7% of the fics read. tbf though, this is because she's insane and wrote a LOT of stuff this year.

409 of the fics I read this year, or 82%, were oneshots.

Sophie: *She snorted soft* Yep! ..... everybody wears it *she said somewhat awkwardly* Daniel: *He shrugged lightly* Not me Sophie: *She felt herself blush again, and internally cursed at Andy for having left her there with Daniel alone... right now she preferred the demon over the situation she was currently stuck in!* Daniel: So you plan to stick around? *He smiled friendly* Sophie: .... I guess, yeah.... it was all a spur or the moment idea last night... I didn't even know anything about all this supernatural stuff... till the day before yesterday... so... I'm just trying my best to catch up, I suppose? But yeah, I would love to hang around and be a part of Sam's life... if that involves all of this... well.. I'll take that as well then. *She smiled soft* Daniel: *He nodded lightly* Where did you two meet? Sophie: *And then the tale of the bc, started once more*

Sophie: Andy, you do look very tired, maybe you should just grab yourself a coffee or something and hang around here, Daniel and I can-

Andy: No, as you said, fuck it! I'll go with you to the store, then I can sit on a bench outside, while the two of you take care of business *he smiled soft* you need my credit card anyway, I might as well follow and pay when you're at the check out counter. It's fine, I'll be fine *he smiled warmly*

Daniel: Are you sure? *he looked a bit deeper into Andy's eyes to try to read him*

Andy: *He nodded soft* Yeah, it's mostly just laziness, to be honest *he chuckled hoarse* let's go...

*About 5 minutes later they had separated in front of an underwear store*

Andy: *He sat down on a bench outside, sighing soft as he picked up his phone, and called Sam's number*

Sam: *He picked up on the 3rd ring* Dad... *he sounded a bit out of breath* what's up?

Andy: what's up? *he sighed deep into the phone* what's up is that it's early evening and I have been shopping all day with YOUR friend, whom btw I adore, but I'm out of energy and I just can't keep up with entertaining-

Andy: No *he sighed soft* It was a poor attempt at a tired joke, Sam... just... I'll see you in 15, I'll grab a smoothie while I wait.

Andy: *He had just paid for his blueberry/pineapple dream, and was now waiting for it as it was made, not noticing someone familiar walking up next to him*

Alex: Hey

Andy: *He looked surprised to his side, right away recognizing the warm, deep voice* Alex?! *he smiled bright and gave the taller man a quick hug* What's up man?!

Alex: *He nodded soft as a greeting* Just here to visit Lily.. dinner

Andy: Ah! *he nodded confirming and grabbed the smoothie as it was ready, taking a quick sip*

Alex: Yeah I thought we would pick up a small bouquet for her on the way, she likes when I bring her something.

Andy: We? *he quickly spun around to see who the 'we' part would be, but saw no one else close to them*

Alex: Yeah... Dalton *he nodded straight ahead, towards a slim guy in a slightly short white and yellow striped tshirt that looked about a size too small for him, and as if he had found it in a storage box from the 90's* you remember Dalton, right?

Andy: *He felt a tickle in his stomach as he observed the younger guy, lost in his own world, as he was starring at the window of the store across from where they stood* .... uhm yeah.... *Of course he remembered Dalton. Not only was he Andy's long term musical crush and an artist he had looked up to for as long as he could remember, but there had also been some sort of connection between them the first time they had actually met. Something Andy still hadn't found a way to describe, but having felt multiple strong bonds in his life, he knew something like this was always special and rare, and as such, nothing he should be brushing off too lightly.*

Alex: We were talking about finding her a little something as well

Andy: *'We', the word made a second round in his head, and he looked slightly disappointed at Alex* are you a couple?

Alex: *He chuckled soft* Not at all... I mean, he's cute, but he's hardly my type... not that I wouldn't have a fling with him, if it was an option *he smiled warmly* but he's not my type for something more serious... he IS however my room mate. Yeah, turned out he needed a place to stay while getting back on his feet... he uhm... *he lowered his voice slightly* have some issues with uh.... no, it's not my story to tell *he smiled soft*

Andy: *He nodded soft, he already knew where the conversation was headed anyway* I get it...

Alex: *A confirming nod, then a soft sigh escaped him* I mean it's nothing like you, but I still felt he needed a hand and a safe place... you know...

Andy: *He nodded agreeing*

Alex: However, he's straight... or so it seems... he has a girlfriend that drops by every now and then although I don't think they are all that serious, but I wouldn't know... he's a bit private, doesn't talk that much *he smiled soft*

Andy: *He sipped his smoothie again, observing the boy closely*

Alex: *He chuckled soft as he observed Andy, well knowing that look on his face* perhaps you're more lucky than I am *he nodded at Dalton in an encouraging way* How about we go say hi, rather than standing here starring him down?

Andy: Yeah *he quick and nervously followed Alex*

Alex: Dalton... this is Andy! I don't know if you remember him?

Dalton: *He turned around, facing them both, observing Andy for a moment, then quickly got his hands out of his pockets and reached one of them towards Andy* Andy you said? *he squinted a bit hesitating* you seem familiar?

Andy: Uh yeah... *he wanted to explain about the night they had first met, but figured Dalton was pretty far out, so if he would have remembered... well... it all suddenly seemed like a blur, the mall, the people, everything just faded together in a big smooshy mess, and before he knew he accidentally spilled some of his smoothie on Dalton's hand*

Dalton: *He quickly pulled his hand back, rubbing it against his pants*

Andy: Fuck! I'm so sorry!

Dalton: *He shrugged lightly* It's just *he looked a bit questioning at Andy's drink* what is it even?

Andy: Blueberry/pineapple dream *he quickly chirped in a high pitch tone, immediately damning himself for being a fucking mess, and undoubtedly embarrassing himself, to the point where Dalton wouldn't want anything to do with him!* I'm sorry! *without thinking he reached towards Dalton's hand, sorta fumbling against it, then stopped, freezing on the spot, noticing that he was definitely holding the guy's hand, then quickly let go and took two rushed steps backwards, blushing*

Dalton: *He observed Andy with a raised brow, but said nothing, just rubbed his hand a few more times against his leg and sighed soft as he stood back up straight*

Alex: *A soft chuckle escaped him, clearly more than amused by the situation unfolding in front of him*

Andy: It shouldn't stain, I mean I spill smoothies all the time!

Dalton: It's fine *he smiled soft* don't worry about it

Andy: *He sighed soft, trying his best not to lose it completely*

Dalton: It will be dry soon, it's not a big deal *he shrugged again*

Andy: *Embarrassing sipping*

Alex: *He chuckled soft* We should probably get going anyway *he nodded at Dalton*

Dalton: Yeah *he nodded agreeing* It was nice to meet you, Andy *he smiled soft*

Andy: *He forced a soft smile* Yeah, it was nice to meet you too... uh sorry about the *he gestured at Dalton's pants*

Dalton: *He shook his head lightly and smiled* it was refreshing!

Alex: *He chuckled again* I'll see you, Andy... unless you wanna come with us? I'm sure there's plenty of food for-

Andy: Too slow to prevent me from making a fool of myself... again! *he sighed soft and stood up* S'fine, I just wanna get out of here!

Sam: What happened?

Sam: *He frowned soft* It seems to me, that if it upsets you, it IS a big deal....

Andy: *He shrugged lightly* not more than a bruised ego, and I'm used to that, so I just really wanna leave the crime scene as fast as possible *he forced a hoarse chuckle*

Sam: *He looked very concerned at his dad, and was just about to ask him if he was sure, when Sophie and Daniel exited the lingerie store*

Sophie: Sam! *She smiled bright and quickly headed in their direction, giving him a big hug*

Sam: *He quickly hugged her back, getting distracted by the amount of bags she was carrying around, and the fact that Daniel seemed to be following*

Adrian: *He observed the others with an unimpressed gaze, then looked back at Andy* let's go!

Andy: *He sighed relieved* Finally!

Adrian: *A soft almost chuckle escaped him, then he leaned in, planting a soft kiss on Sam's cheek* we're heading out... I'll call you later!

Sam: Oh! Yeah! *he turned and looked at the others with a soft smile* I'll talk to you both later!

Adrian: *He looked at Andy with a questioning frown, as they sat in his car on the parking lot outside the mall* You wanna talk about it now?

Adrian: ..... *he grabbed his pack of cigs, lighting one, offering the pack to Andy*

Andy: *He sighed soft as he grabbed the pack and lit himself one, looking out the window* can we just leave?

Andy: Anywhere... just get me away from this mall before- *he paused as he spotted Alex and Dalton walking out the mall, whimpering dramatically, as he quickly sunk further down the seat, in a desperate attempt to get out of sight*

Adrian: *He looked at Andy, then looked up, spotting Alex right away..... then he spotted Dalton.... quickly putting two and two together well knowing Alex wouldn't make Andy whimper like that, usually* .... who's that? And how did you embarrass yourself in front of him?

Andy: Dalton *he whined as he was now more or less sitting on the floor* I spilled smoothie on him, and kinda ended up holding his hand as I was trying to assist him in getting smoothie off him... which he never asked me to, by the way!

Adrian: ..... so you basically groped him? *He lifted an eyebrow as he observed Andy closely*

Andy: *Loud whiny sound* Just go-hooooooo!!! *he whimpered*

also oof i feel u and im sorry. i did find out a way to look for mods for iphone if u want but i know u said u dont feel very confident to try that so thats okay. have u been reading other stories to get more gems? u get 2 gems for each chapter completed plus a lil boost every 3 chapters, plus 15 when u finish a story. i recommend reading my two first loves to get gems because it has really short chapters (like 4min long) and is like... entertaining enough that u arent actively bored but also not enough that ur actually tempted to spend gems on THAT story. the only problem with using that story to mine for gems is that it has 100 chapters so it will take a long time to get the finished book boost, which is the one that comes the fastest

for that u can read The Freshman side stories (two chapters each, so ull get 15 gems really quickly) and Rules of Engagement 4 (thats 5 chapters). that way u can mine for gems the quickest way, i believe, but i havent played any of these stories (just looked up "choices shortest stories" lmao) so idk if they'll tempt u to spend gems in them. but thats a possibility to get the gems u need faster uwu

into it! because i came up with the idea while i was trying to take a nap and i inserted some banter between bucky and the reader to show just how fun (and sexy) their relationship can be.

omg i write a bunch of dark fics but honestly, i’d say my recent one, which is called paralyzed. because when i write dark fics, i tend to put some redeeming traits to the fucked up one, but steve in this one was pure evil. 

... is your absolute favorite?

currently i dreamt of you all summer long. it’s not perfect but it has a special spot in my heart because i’ve been wanting to write a fanfic based on betty by taylor swift and that song is my addiction. also, i’m proud of it because i justified bucky’s character by not writing him as a cheater. 

... was easiest to write?

definitely delicate! it took me like less than an hour to finish it. i picked a prompt in the afternoon, started with a few sentences and then it ended up a whole ass one-shot later that night. (i was like how the hell did this happen?) and it was the easiest because i’m just deeply in love with bucky and almost every fanfic that i write about him is a love letter. 

... was hardest to write?

almosteverysmutfichonestlyhahaha. perhaps into the woods? i started with a vision of how the series is going to go and how many chapters it’s going to have and how it’s going to end, but then the more i wrote it, the further i strayed from my original idea (which is okay of course, it happens) but i’m still trying to figure out where to take steve and the reader in future chapters.

THIS IS TOUGH I HARDLY REMEMBER EVERY WORD I WROTE. but perhaps this one from dear lover; 

Bucky soundlessly walked towards you as he placed a hand on your shoulder, trying not to startle you but you weren’t expecting anyone to be awake, and you didn’t know that Bucky was supposed to return today. Your brain had been so occupied with moving in, that you forgot there was one member of the team missing because he was on a solo mission and that he was supposed to return in the early morning.

So you accidentally dropped your glass, spilling your little taste of heaven all over the counter, as you turned around and punched him on the face. You shrieked as soon as you felt a palm touching your shoulder, thinking it might’ve been a ghost or worse, an intruder. For a second there, you nearly forgot that you weren’t living all by yourself in a tiny apartment anymore. You were in the most highly secured building in New York, surrounded by vigilant superheroes that had fought bigger guys than a callow thief or more lethal than supernatural forces.

Bucky’s hand immediately went to his face, as he shrieked in pain. He absolutely didn’t expect a punch from you, considering he meant well. He slightly backed away on his feet, clutching the nose that had bled due to the robust force. You soon realized that he was Bucky Barnes, the Avenger that had just gone back from a solo mission Steve told you about, and you had just realized that you punched… The Winter Soldier. Oh my God. Your guilt rushes through your gut and you immediately covered your mouth with your hand in panic.

“Oh my God! I’m so sorry, I didn’t realize anyone was still awake, I’m so sorry.” You reached out to his hand, trying to see the damage that you did.

“No, it’s okay, doll. I shouldn’t have snuck up on you like that, I’m sorry.” He wiped the blood that leaked out his nose.

“No, no, no, it wasn’t your fault at all, I shouldn’t have reacted like that… Please, let me help you with that.”

“I got it doll, really. It’s nothing.”

“I insist. Please, otherwise I’d feel really bad.”

You moved to the couch in the common room, as you began patching him up. You both finally introduced yourselves properly this time, and you talked for about an hour until the sun was starting to rise. When you realized how late it had gotten and how exhausted Bucky must’ve been, only then, you returned to your individual bedrooms. And thus, a friendship was born. The beginning of something eternal and profound.

needy! as the title speaks for itself, when i’m feeling needy (particularly for andy barber bc how can you not?) or when i’m in the mood for something simple and succinct but still soothing.

the same one as my absolute favorite, which is i dreamt of you all summer long. because not only i was inspired by on the song that’s been stuck in my head for two months now (and also has been begging for me to write based on it) but also because i get to share it with my fellow swiftie friends. and hopefully @taylorswift will see it too.

- i want it to be 2D, but cgi/live-action works too. the medium doesnt exactly matter as long as it looks good. big thing is you never see the humans faces, the key focus is on the toys and should only Be on the toys. my voice hc for Ann would have 2 be Kate Micucci. but Andy is up in the air, rlly any weird white boy internet comedian works, like john mulaney or smthn? idk :/

- its a musical! obviously. u cant have a raggedy movie with some musical numbers. i would like it to be broadway-esque in genre but if they have 2 have a cash grab radiofriendly song in there thats cool too as long as its like... good

- main plot is a volland raggedy ann (one of the first made raggedys from 1918-late 1920s) is trying to find her brother after years of being separated. but due to being holed up in an attic for almost like. 90 years. she doesnt really remember much of him, other than the fact that they have matching tags indicating their previous owner. she sets out on a journey to find him, and its ur typical fish out of water/Im In The Future Woah kinda deal. when she does find andy, its in a toy museum, full of other raggedys..! andy is this rough n tough kinda guy, very rude and very brash. key point here is andy doesnt think ann is His Ann, kinda having this preconceived notion that His Ann would've been Cool and Adventurous. not the mousey kinda naive Ann he met, even tho This Ann is very certain that they were Real Sibs! (the brand does exist within the movies universe, so there are TONS of different anns and andys, thus the reason why andy is so skeptical). anyway shenanigans ensue, adventures are had, etc etc. the key point to this whole thing is that you never really get to know if they truly are sibs, at least, the sibs they knew Way Back When. but they grow closer n eventually see eachothr as sibs and thATS what MATTERS

- i want the moral of the story to be that, like, blood relation doesnt equate family. yea you never exactly Know if this ann and andy were 'actually' sibs but you know that by the end of the movie they are. its just a good moral thats not rlly explored in a lot childrens media.

- anns character is more similar to the 1977 animated movie, but with some. actual character. so, shes sweet n kind n affectionate, but also a little ditzy and naive. alongside that, shes rlly smart, handy and brave! shes forgetful, but adamant about the things she remembers. shes also fairly wise, in this childlike way. as her animator from the 1977 movie, shes like a wise little girl who is also 70 years old. shes like,,, v quirky fun lead, with some deep seated issues but also Gets Shit Done.

-andy is also similar to the 1977 movie, but again with like, some actual character added to him. hes a strong tough terrific boy, who's also audacious in nature? like hes just rude and obnoxious and a know-it-all. but, alongside that, he's insecure and anxious when met with Real Challenge. he often frets about remaining in Good Condition, mainly bc hes already had to get his leg reattached once, hes worth a LOT u know!!! but hes also sentimental, in a way that one would either not notice or not get to see. he takes his past very seriously, and even though he cant remember too much since, again, 100ish years is a long time, he finds himself drawn 2 what once was! so like, ur typical brave cocky lead, but also hes kind of just a big baby..!

- their personality differences definitely cause them to butt heads, and woild obv cause the keypoint in the movie where they go their separate ways. (NO it wont be the misunderstanding trope i hate those... itll probably just be an outright disagreement)

- i wont get into the actually Plot yet, bc i had too many ideas, but im certain itll lean toward either trying to find Ann's Andy, with Rude Andy™ being the sidekick. or something to do with the toy museum andy resides in.. hmmmm

- yea!!!! im being crimge but I DOMT CARE.... have a raggedy post!!!!

Andi Mack Season finale

Dream

(includes like 3 1/2coming out scenes)

Okay so last night I had a dream about me watching the Andi Mack season 3 finale and omg it was great. I posted this on twitter but thought I would share and go into more detail on here, plus I forgot to add a few small things... So let me share.

Okay, for some reason it was Christmas... idk why. Anyways, it started off with Bex, Bowie, and Andi being cute and opening each other’s presents and like getting excited over the smallest things.

Then Andi leaves to go to Cyrus’s Dad’s house for his annual Hanukkah party.

She arrives with Buffy and Jonah. Cyrus opens the door and tells them to come in. He introduces them to his family then goes in a separate room with them.

Buffy asks “Isn’t Tj coming??” But in a teasing way which makes Cyrus blush. Cyrus tells her “yes he is. He’s just running late.” Then looks to see if he got a text.

Jonah is confused about why Cyrus blushed then remembered why he did. (I added this in bc it’s such a Jonah thing.)

Cyrus then looks upset, Andi Saw that he was and asked him what was wrong. Then Cyrus tells them this.

“I don’t know. It’s just been hard. Everyone is asking when I’m going to get a girlfriend, and I just want to tell them I don’t like girls... I don’t know what to do.”

Buffy offers him support and tells him “Cyrus, dont worry about it. You should tell soon but it’s also up to you when you want to tell.” Then Andi says “I know you might be scared of them, but you shouldn’t be.” And then Jonah goes over to him and says “Dude, you are still Cyrus to me. You got this!”

Then Tj walks in. Cyrus almost panics but stays calm and greets him. Takes a deep breath when Tj asked “What were you guys talking about?” The GHC and Jonah all laugh.

Cyrus and friends are called down for dinner. His dad asks Cyrus to give a speech. Cyrus looks at his friends, they instantly knew what was going to happen. He smiles at Tj and looks at his family. “Thank you all for coming tonight! Family, friends, food... thank you for celebrating this wonderful holiday with me!! I love all of you so much, and I’m so greatful for all your support. I hope everyone has a good holiday and night, and I’m gay.” Then everyone stops to look at him. Tj’s eyes got big... and he blushed. But once Cyrus looked at him, he went up and said “wow. That’s brave of you. Nice job Cyrus!” And Cyrus blushes and smiles back.

After that my dream skips back to Bex and Andi sitting on the couch. And Cyrus too. Cyrus is crying and Andi is telling Bex why he is. The lady who got mad at bowie(I forgot who she is) was upset with Cyrus and Andi also mentioned his dad was very confused. Cyrus adds in “But Tj, and of course my friends, where super supportive. Especially Tj who stood up for me when she said ‘I shouldn’t be gay’ he said to her ‘so what? Your just going to stop loving him because he’s gay? Try being forced to like someone you don’t.’ But that didn’t make me feel any better.”

Bex hugs Cyrus and tells him “Cyrus, listen, everything will be okay. You have the rest of your family, your mom(which he has already told and she was very supportive) and you have us too. If your dad and his family are giving you a hard time, you’re always welcome over here. But again, you have SO many people who love you for who you are. Especially your friends and that’s all you need!” Cyrus stops crying and thanks Bex and tells them he has to leave.

Once he left, Andi is shocked on how Bex calmed him down since no one else could and asked for advice.

Bex laughs and tells her “I mean it’s scary! I don’t blame him! I remember when I first found out I also liked gir-” and stops realizing she just came out to her daughter.

Andi is shocked and says “Wait. Your bisexual?” Bex panics and quickly says “You’re Pan!” But then instantly stops talking realizing what she just had said.

“Wha- wai- how did you know?!” Now Andi accidentally comes out. Bex replies “Shoot. Uhhhhh” Andi says “it’s fine actually. Surprisingly I’m not mad... I guess I wasn’t really thinking about what my sexuality is till you said something, though I knew it.... I guess I just didn’t care?? But really, how did you know?”

Bex takes a deep breath and says “I saw the flag in your shack, and once I did, the pieces started to connect and I figured you were. I guess I also kinda figured I knew... sorry.”

Andi smiles and says “Haha, I figured. Your good at that stuff. But really, I’m not mad. It actually feels nice to come out! But back to you, I didn’t know you were bi... did you date any girls?? Wait Never mind that’s too much. But I do have another question....why are you scared?”

Bex looks down and says “I’m scared because I don’t want to lose any of my family. I don’t think their going to care, I knew you wouldn’t, but what if they do, and I lose them... forever.”

Andi smiles, goes to hug Bex and gives her some advice. “Mom, you should really tell Cece and especially Dad. They won’t care and I know that. And if they do, you have me, Cyrus, Buffy, and more people, and that’s all you need. We all love you for who you are. But whenever you’re ready, I’m ready too.”

Bex smiles and hugs her daughter and gives her a kiss on the head. Thats the end.

Let me just say, THIS WAS ONE OF THE BEST DREAMS! Besides it being Christmas, I want this dream to actually come true.

The Bully (part one)

[HAPPY VALENTINES DAY EVERYONE! Ya boi is excited bc I’m uploading my first-ever fanfic!! @joshua-rush-fanpage I hope you like it! This is part of the Valentines Day Friendom Gift Exchange. Kids normally started thinking about their soulmates and deciphering their marks once they got their first crush, but Cyrus Goodman was different. He’d been worried about love all of his life, and the more he thought, the less sense it made. Trusting fate was generally put forward as the best way to deal with soulmate-related issues, at least before you met them, but Cyrus was finding that trusting fate was remarkably more difficult than all of the online articles and books in his parents’ offices made it sound. He wondered sometimes if he maybe was the universe’s first-ever mistake, a legendarily big screw-up, and this was a concern that was difficult to express without simultaneously concerning everyone else around him.

Cyrus’ mark was in what he had decided was the worst possible place it could be— his back. Two solid pitch-black handprints were indented into his skin so he had to twist around in the mirror to even glimpse the peculiar birthmark, like a two-year-old’s art project smushed across his skin or a crude frat party drawing etched on during a hangover was supposed represent his hope for the future and the person he was supposed to love more than anything. He’d always felt weird about it. The question that was tied most to it, the great white whale, the million-dollar-Jeopardy one, was what the situation could possibly be that would cause the mark to light up, to fill with color, when it made contact with his future spouse’s skin.

They’re gonna... push me? It was still, after years of contemplation and stomachaches, the best theory he had. The first way the person he was supposed to find eternal happiness with was by them trying to hurt him. That sure didn’t sound like love to him.

How would he make them angry? What would he do wrong?

The thought was his shadow, and the more he thought about it, the more confused he was. He didn’t want to make them angry, though! He wanted the person he was destined to spend the rest of his days with to like him right off the bat. He wanted the happy ending that everyone got.

“It’s fate,” Buffy had said and shrugged at their final summer sleepover before seventh grade began. “I mean, you can’t do anything to change it, Cy. I’m pretty sure you can’t fool the system by covering it with a tattoo. Since you always try to be as nice as possible anyway, I think you’re doing all you can.”

“Yeah.” He squinted. Maybe I’m just not good enough at being nice.

Buffy rolled her eyes, seeing through his words. “Cyrus. You really need to stop forgetting how cool you are. It’s annoying.”

“Thanks, Buffy, I just hope my soulmate understands my annoying… ness.”

“That was a joke—“

He gasped, shooting up with wide eyes. “What if I annoy them too much and that’s why they push me? What if I’m the one who ruins it?”

“Cyrus, I’m fairly certain that you would never be destined to spend your life with a total jerk. You may be weird, but that’s why soulmates love us, dummy. That’s why we love you.”

The two exchanged a smile, and Buffy reached around to squeeze his hand with her comforting smile.

“You’ll know when you see them anyway, because that’s like the whole thing. So… I don’t know. Maybe the push will be an accident or something. If it helps, I’ll personally remove the toenails if anyone who messes with you.”

“Well, I think,” Andi interjected like the voice of God from above, staring at the pair from her position of power on Cyrus’ couch. “You should stop worrying about something completely inevitable. It’s coming, like it or not.”

The boy let out a yelp and rubbed furiously at the goosebumps blooming on his skinny arms. “You didn’t have to phrase it like that, Andi!”

“Seriously,” Buffy agreed, eyes wide and unfocused. “Yikes.”

“It shouldn’t be scary. You two should really trust yourselves more. Future us will all make good decisions, I’m sure of it. Mostly. Probably.”

She leaned over to look down at her two best friends, reduced to frightened messes at the thought of someone who loved them, and deeply did not understand.

“I trust future Andi, at least. You two are weird.”

She stuck a bookmark made of old newspapers into the John Green book she was skimming, one of Bex’s favorites. She’d explained earlier about how since her older sister would be coming to visit her for the first time in practically forever, she had better know something about what she liked. Although from her various annoyed growls that echoed from above every once in a while, her friends could tell Andi’s tastes maybe differed from the latter’s.

“Real life isn’t that dramatic! Certainly isn’t as dramatic as this Augustus”—she gesticulated to the paperback copy—“thinks it is! What’s even going on in this book?”

She wrinkled her nose in disgust, setting the book down by the lamp.

“Yeah, whatever.” Buffy turned to look doubtfully over her left shoulder at her other best friend, from the spot on the calming maroon carpet where Cyrus was French-braiding her curls. “If you think all this soulmate crap will be totally drama-free, all relaxation and games, Andi, you’re kidding yourself. And it’s middle school.”

“You might want to rethink your position here,” agreed Cyrus, twirling a lock dastardly between his fingers.

A beeping sound came from the kitchen as butter filled the warm air, clashing with the rosy scent of the aromatherapy stuff Celia insisted on spraying everywhere before anyone else entered the house, even though it was just Buffy and Cyrus. They’re very well-behaved, Andi would always say, even though one was now swatting like a kitten at the other. True friendship.

“Stop that! Grow your own facial hair so you can stop using mine!”

“Low blow,” Andi commented.

“Never!” He fell backwards onto the carpet with a grunt as she attacked him with her fringe scarf, smacking her opponent with swift malice. Andi got up to go get their popcorn from the microwave, hopping easily over the destructive swarm of thrashing limbs on her floor.

The two broke apart, close to the door now. Like wrestlers, the kids sprinted to either corner of the room.

“Every time! This is why I don’t let you braid my hair, Cyrus!”

“You underestimate me! Now I have a secret weapon!”

A shadow rushed forward and cackled menacingly, a beautifully stitched pillow in shades of pink and red held aloft to decimate his friend.

“No! Bad Cyrus!” Andi scolded from the kitchen. “I made that for Bex!”

“This isn’t a Western!” Buffy yelled, hands up in surrender. “You aren’t going to tie Andi to the train tracks, no more!”

Cyrus pouted mutely, savoring the power, then conceded mercifully. “Ohhh-kay.”

“Maybe that’s why your soulmate will push you,” Buffy laughed. “You attack them, viciously, in a war of pillows.”

His face fell again, the weight of worry and insecurities returning instantly.

“Dammit.” Buffy sighed. “I’m sorry.”

“It’s fine. Maybe I will... I’d demolish them, anyway.”

The three collapsed onto the couch together once Andi returned, mutely chewing their popcorn, their feathery Cold War forgotten. They could still hear cicadas outside. It didn’t quite feel like school yet, and something about that made the night seem more important, more meaningful, and made them all the more grateful for the other people who they felt like they could tell anything.

“Soulmates are weird to think about, though,” Andi added. “I mean, it’s not something you can teach in school or anything. How one person is made for another. I think it’s pretty crazy. Although I bet Augustus and Hazel would disagree.”

“Yeah, love’s simple until you think about— like— what if they die before you meet them?” Cyrus said, the years’ worth of anxiety seeping into his words. “Assuming it isn’t a fate thing. What if you’re the first one to prove it wrong? Or… you don’t know if you like that type of person?”

“Well,” Buffy chimed in, shrugging. “I mean, people always do, so…”

The trio fell quiet.

“Like soulmates or not, we can agree the marks are freaky as hell?”

“Absolutely.”

“At least you don’t have your mark in as weird a place as me.”

“Buffs, yours is on your hand. That’s not that weird.” Cyrus reached over her back to lightly touch the white splash of color across her right palm, and she jerked it away fast as if she was scared of it going off like a bomb. “High-fives happen all the time.”

“I know, but why would future me let anyone touch my hand? That’s not allowed!�� She shivered dramatically. “Ugh. Can you imagine me all… stupid and love-struck? That would be remarkably awful.”

“Middle school,” Cyrus said, nodding sagely. “It changes all who experience it.”

“Well,” Andi whispered, suddenly solemn. “I guess we’ll find out if it changes us too.”

“Guess we gotta trust that the Future Good Hair Trio will make good choices. Soulmates or otherwise.”

The three looked around.

“At least we’ll have each other. No matter who comes, we’ll at least have each other.”

- We all know both of them are super competitive but like??? After the events of Good Hair Day, Jonah sees Buffy in a whole new light okay.

i would just like to thank all fanfic writers for creating such wonderful stories! i stared reading fics back in 2012. i was having a hard time back then and everything was just so hard. that’s when i found comfort in them and honestly its the best thing that’s ever happened to me mentally. if i wanted to be happy, i would read some fluff.if i  i was sad and wanted to feel even sadder, i would just read angst. it was just so comforting to read the stories.

hello, everyone! sorry for being a bit late to the party, i’ve been sick and waiting for my stuff to actually show up in tags (gotta love new blogs). anyways, i’m matt and i’ll be playing ryder & alexander. if you’d like to know more about them and/or plot with them, here’s a bit of info on them.

For a second I thought I saw CHRIS EVANS around here, but it was just RYDER RUSSO. I heard that they are THIRTY-ONE and that they WERE BORN HERE. They are a HETEROSEXUAL CISMALE, known as the PARADOX around here. I know that they are an ACTOR. I’ve talked to HIM and they seem CHARMING & PASSIONATE, but also POSSESSIVE & STUBBORN. I think The Love Club paired them with ILIANA SAGE & SCARLETT JOHANSSON/ELIZABETH OLSEN/EMERAUDE TOUBIA/ANY FEMALE FC, I guess we’ll see how it goes.

groundhog day: a review

this got really long and became pretty much organized by song

here we go!

first off, the staging and choreography for this show is fantastic, i knew that right from the opening number. and each of the character's unique looks was very refreshing, especially considering how used to the costuming for jersey boys.

"small town, usa" is definitely a favorite song, has been since i listened to the soundtrack. phil is such an asshole in the beginning and andy does a great job playing him.

also rita dances a little when the ensemble breaks out into the groundhog jingle and it's???? so???? cute???? she is precious, protect her. (though she can probably handle herself, lol)

phil being a dick to the homeless guy was not cool, what an asshole

i can't remember the full line but the shorter cop's joke about the blizzard being a donut was great

i can't remember day two as much, ahh

day three was interesting. i like to title it existential crisis, the musical. it's just phil freaking the fuck out for three minutes. always kind of fun to listen to on the soundtrack, but the reactions were a little less exaggerated in the show, but it works, because you can see it. the soundtrack is, obviously, all sound, so you have to picture everything.

"stuck" has always been another favorite song of mine. honestly, i have so many faves in this show. why didn't tim get the tony for lyrics? ugh! 

anyway, the performance is even better. so, so funny. the enema part had everyone laughing, and i was too. again, choreography: a+

"nobody cares" is such a bop!!!! we had an understudy for ralph, i'll find the name later, but he was great. the choreography with the shot glasses was so clever, and was clearly inspired by THAT pitch perfect song.

(also, the car chase with the toy cars? hilarious. that aspect of the show, using toy cars to mimic driving, was also clever and very funny.)

the initial cop chase was hilarious too, with the guys holding the cars. ugh, i loved this show!!!

(also phil probably has a bondage kink bc tight handcuffs, pass it on)

(i don't write smut but this show gave a fair amount of opportunity for kinks, okay?)

philandering was fun. the sex with nancy was... interesting. andy and rebecca were probably just standing there making sex noises, right? i can only imagine how hard it was to keep a straight face the first time they rehearsed that number.

(that was the number with him on the bed basically having a threesome, right? or foursome. there was a dude there. phil connors, bisexual icon.)

oh my god the diner scene. is it possible to be attracted to legs? bc andy has some nice ones. oh wow.

his acl must be doing better, though. it looked like just a compression sock-type thing was on. i'm glad he's feeling better.

(this was the song where he was even more of an asshole, right? bc it was so funny. i laughed the most here in act one, probably bc i didn't know what to expect, for once.)

"one day" is the best song in the show and you can fight me. barrett is amazing. definition of the word queen. where is her damn tony?

so, act two.

"playing nancy" is underrated. i was never a huge fan, but mostly bc i didn't know the character. now that i do, i love the song even more, and rebecca has a beautiful voice.

the next scene literally left me in shock. i knew phil's suicide was coming, but the way it happened - wow. he grabs the gun and goes beserk. he shoots the groundhog and then himself. my jaw was dropped until the spotlight came back on him in bed.

where "one day" is barrett's time to shine, "hope" is andy's. yes, he's the lead, he's been carrying songs the entire time, but this song features his absolute best vocals. i had chills. i think there were bits in this song, maybe when he kept ending up back in bed (what kind of sorcery is that? how do they do it? my mom literally asked me during the song and i was like "i have no idea"), or walked out with the covers, where people were laughing, and i didn't like it. feel what you want during a show, but suicide is not something to be taken lightly. i was close to tears during this song. absolutely amazing.

give andy karl a tony you cowards.

anywho, "everything about you" is beautiful. i loved that rita knew, even if she forgot the next day. i think it was a great development in their relationship. of course she hated him at first, but he kept changing, and i loved the trust they began to have in one another.

"night will come" also hit really hard. seeing the guy die over and over was not easy to watch, and i can only imagine how phil felt. but he kept trying, and i guess he just accepted that fate in the end, right? kinda the whole point of the song. and now knowing who the "her" was in the song also hit really hard. poor ned. such a sweet man, does not deserve that kind of pain and sorrow.

sorry if my comments are becoming repetitive, but "philanthropy" is also fun. very all over the place. i love the choreography. and phil's change in character. the tin man does have a heart after all! (does that count as a wicked reference? bc i would love to make jokes about andy's other roles. there are just... so many...)

gonna skip over punxsutawney rock bc it's kinda forgetful...

"seeing you" leaves me in tears every time. from andy's soft, sweet vocals to the scenery. gorgeous song, gorgeous performance. i loved it so much.

and for the record, i am phil/rita trash. i am ready to write 10,000 soulmate aus for them. or any au. just give me all the fics. (the show has an ao3 tag now and i am ready to read everything.)

the ending is one of the best parts of the show. i was so happy phil got out of the loop, and i was a little surprised to see that rita spent the night. but i definitely don't think they slept together in /that/ way. i can see them being up late, talking about life and the snow and the town, and rita conks out and phil just smiles and falls asleep next to her. (probably doesn't really touch her much bc he knows she has boundaries.)

(look at me, already writing the fic. i'm shipper trash, boom.)

so, yeah, amazing show overall. i would love to go back, but bronx tale is my next must-see before its leads leave. (richard, most importantly, but i really wanna see bobby too bc he is phenomenal on the soundtrack - but anyway.) but who knows if i'll even get to see another show this year? last year was an unusual circumstance, with jersey boys closing and all.

i gotta talk characters real quick bc i love them all!!! fred and debbie were precious lil beans. ned was nice, and i think i've seen people ship him with phil and now i see why. nancy was sweet and thankfully got a happy ending (with the camera guy!!! aww!!!). the mayor was funny (when he talked to phil the groundhog in the bar, it had the theater laughing every single time). ralph and his drinking pal were fun and lowkey gay. (they're dating shhh.)

also!!!! the waiter guy - billy? - was dancing with the shorter cop guy (i forget his name!!!) during "seeing you" and i almost screamed. not huge representation, but still there and quite cute. (and the fact that billy's accidental coming out was glossed over and not a big deal was v great to see.)

rita is my feminist queen and i love her. 

phil is... a dick. but a redeemable one at that, as he proved in the show. i love him too and am totally adopting him, lol. he needs protection (but rita probably has that covered).

i would totally give the show a 9/10. again, would love to see a second time. such a fun show with a lot of heart. i felt so at home in august wilson, i would go back once a year if i could.

Favorite Andi Mack character:
 Buffy for sure. I love her bc she’s so fearless and confident, and that’s an important role model for young women of color to have. Back when I was Disney Channel’s target demographic age (I’m 18 now), Raven from That’s So Raven had a huge impact on me and made me want to be myself, so I’m glad there’s a character like Buffy on Disney Channel right now teaching young girls that it’s okay to love themselves and own it even when they’re only 13 years old. Is that your all-time favorite? If not, then list that here:
 My all time favorite character is Riley Matthews from Girl Meets World. I see so much of myself in her, from the way she stands up for her beliefs and does what is right, to the way she tends to be naive and trusting, seeing the good in people. One of my favorite things about her is that she is shown multiple times trying to make people into what she expects them to be, and I can relate bc I have the same problem. I love that she’s wonderful and strong but also realistically flawed. Favorite Andi Mack cast member?
 Idk much about the cast; I don’t follow them on any social media except Josh here on tumblr. So I guess I pick Josh, he seems pretty cool 😊 All-time favorite cast member? If not list them: 
 I know this is getting repetitive, BUT I LOVE ROWAN BLANCHARD. She’s so woke and amazing at such a young age. She’s an activist and an intersectional feminist, she stands up for marginalized groups and goes after what she wants. I truly love her so much and look up to her even though she is younger than me. I hope to someday raise a daughter just like Rowan Blanchard. Original reaction to the show:
 I originally watched the show bc I saw a gifset on tumblr, then read an article and thought it was so cool that Disney Channel was going to address teen pregnancy. So I knew the plot twist before I watched the first episode. Tbh I was super unimpressed with the show at first, like after reading about it I was really disappointed watching the first episode, bc to me the acting felt so stale and badly paced. BUT I decided to give it another try bc I really wanted to support the show bc of how important it could be to Disney Channel, and after watching the second episode, I concluded that the acting and pacing would get better as the season went on, and then after watching the third episode I was hooked. Current reaction to the show: I’m just a little bit addicted. I keep wanting to binge watch the whole season but it’s not out yet, and tbh I’ve looked through those free TV websites for leaked episodes but there are none. The “next time on Andi Mack” thing is really effective bc there’s a bombshell dropped every episode and the preview makes you want to keep going.
 Favorite Andi Mack Plot Line: BEX AND BOWIE!!! Their scene together in episode 8 was my favorite, like Bowie is so sweet and he wants to be back in her life and help raise Andi, but Bex is obviously trying to avoid talking about it (the pizza trick again), and I n e e d to see how this ends. And I also kind of want to know where it started. I just want more Bowex overall.
 Least Favorite Andi Mack character: Idk if I have one? Like I kind of like most of the characters equally. And it feels like the only real choice here is Amber, but her character really bugs me bc of how she is written. So far (up to episode 8), she is a one-dimensional character. The writers only ever show her as a bad person who does horrible things to Andi and insults people and fucks with a middle school boy’s emotions, but they never show any of the reasons behind her actions. She was created as the stereotypical, pretty, “cool” mean girl who is only around to serve as a foil to the awkward, kind, unconfident main character; Disney Channel does this all the time and I’m kind of sick of it. Amber needs depth. We need to know why she’s clinging to Jonah (despite CHEATING on him), abusing him, threatening people, and just overall antagonizing others. The closest thing we got to depth with her was the one time Jonah mentioned to Andi that Amber is insecure, but that’s not good enough. I need a plotline around Amber’s insecurity. I need the writers to show that people act a certain way because of their personal issues or circumstances, not because they are inherently evil. Maybe she has home problems and that’s why she goes after Andi so hard about her family??? Maybe her father has been absent most of her life too? I need some character development with Amber. I’m not satisfied blindly hating her.

 Upcoming Andi Mack episodes I’m worried about: I’m sure this is on everybody’s mind, but how are they going to show Cyrus questioning his sexuality? It’s Disney Channel, so I really don’t want to get my hopes up, but I really hope it doesn’t turn out like Beauty and the Beast with that blink-and-you’ll-miss-it gay rep with Le Fou. Like, if I were a heterosexual and not specifically looking for signs that Le Fou was gay, I probably wouldn’t have noticed it at all. I’m worried that the same thing will happen to Cyrus, where since we’re all looking for him to be gay, we’ll jump for joy when they start dropping subtle clues, when in reality, the plotline does nothing to teach kids about LGBTQ people bc it goes right over their heads. Like I can’t see Disney Channel airing an episode where Cyrus explicitly says that he’s attracted to boys, let alone uses the word “gay,” but that’s exactly what young questioning kids need to hear: truth and validation. In addition, I’m worried that even if it explicitly comes out that Cyrus has a crush on Jonah, there will not be a happy ending for him. Andi is the main character, and as per Disney Channel rules, the main girl always ends up with the guy she likes. So even though Cyrus likes Jonah, he’ll never get to be with him, and he’ll just be another add-on to the list of queer characters who suffer from unrequited love, whose queerness is only used as a plot point to show struggling. No matter what, I feel like the Cyrus sexuality plotline will not play out well, either from being too subtle or from being unnecessarily sad. Sorry, I kind of ranted on those last two!
