World Haemophilia Day is observed on 17 April every year to increase awareness about hemophilia disease and other inherited bleeding disorders. In 1989, World Haemophilia Day was started by the World Federation of Haemophilia (WFH) in honor of WFH founder Frank Schnavel's birthday.⠀ ⠀ The World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH) is an international non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of people with hemophilia and other genetic bleeding disorders. It educates hemophiliacs and lobbies for improved medical treatment. 75% of people in the world with bleeding disorders do not know it and do not receive care.⠀ The WFH was established by Frank Schnabel in 1963 and has its headquarters in Montreal, Canada. It has member organizations in 113 countries and official recognition from the World Health Organization. I'm still alive at 95, cocooned in our apartment already a month or so, cautiously assured that I don't yet have the evil bug, and hoping I'll be able to carry on with the documentation for one more book, recounting my life as a cartoon cooker. Whoever may actually be interested in eventually reading it, I am amazed myself at how maniacally varied and pioneering were my projects, especially the spectacular failures! - Failures are the most instructive cautions, and reading of mine may be the most valuable for today's blooming animators, as convinced as I was that they are about to revolutionize frame-by-frames. My stories, my spectacular failures and cautions, and rare successes, of cooking in the cartoon kitchen, when, if ever are published, may be useful to today's new movers... Alone I write, this morning, Zdenka wisely returned to bed after her morning pee. But now she is stirring, and I, must get the coffee going."⠀ ⠀ There was not even a single day, a Tom & Jerry or a Popeyes wasn't running on every house's TV screen. National Panchayati Raj Day is celebrated every year on 24 April in India. On this day Constitution came into force with effect from 24 April 1993. In 2010 the first National Panchayati Raj Day was celebrated. Auṃ maṇi padme hūṃ (Sanskrit: ॐ मणिपद्मे हूँ, is the six-syllabled Sanskrit mantra particularly associated with the four-armed Shadakshari form of Avalokiteshvara, the bodhisattva of compassion. It first appeared in the Mahayana Kāraṇḍavyūhasūtra where it is also referred to as the sadaksara (six syllabled) and the paramahrdaya, or “innermost heart” of Avalokiteshvara. In this text, the mantra is seen as a condensed form of all the Buddhist teachings.⠀ The first word Aum/Om is a sacred syllable in various Indian religions. The word Mani means "jewel" or "bead", Padme is the "lotus flower" (the Buddhist sacred flower), and Hum represents the spirit of enlightenment.⠀ In Tibetan Buddhism, this is the most ubiquitous mantra and the most popular form of religious practice, performed by laypersons and monastics alike.
