every once in a while i login to tumblr, get a snippet of the chaos going on in the manga, and then never recover 😭😭 what are your recommended strategies in coping with bakugou's potentially permanent hybernation?

!! okok so my #1 coping mechanism is i like to look at things from a marketing perspective. they cant kill off bakugou bc that baby is a cash COW like the amount of revenue he brings in alone from merch and stuff?? the fact that he has been voted #1 EVERY YEAR -- imagine the analytics!! he can't be killed he's simply too popular it wouldnt be good for business. it helps me to look at things like a capitalist rather than a reader lolol

the other reason i dont think he's dead for good is it would just be too narratively jarring for him to die at that point in the story. this doesnt mean he's off the hook forever but if bakugou were to die (and i genuinely dont think this is just my shipper brain saying this) it would be in dekus arms. it would be dramatic, there would be last words spoken to each other, we would see reactions from other classmates/ time would slow down a lot more for that moment. and pacing wise it would not make sense for him to die forever right at the beginning of his fight with shigaraki calling him weak. it would not be without him making some obvious sacrifice or proving himself in a big way. what bakugous death here was is a catalyst. it was to kick off deku's fight with shigaraki, deku finally using the 2nd's quirk. narritvely it just wouldnt make any sense for bakugous death to just happen suddenly bc of quirk overuse and then the reaction being deku and mirio being like 'lets ignore this in favor of the fight at hand' if bakugou died there would be a lot more momentum to it, rather than his death adding momentum to something else if that makes sense? he's just way too important of a character

the idea had come up completely out of the blue too: you were hanging out with denki and some of the other boys and they had brought up the fact that sero was moving out when the lease was up on their apartment

but the reality of living with denki makes you feel like you're losing brain cells constantly

sometimes you indulged him and participated in his antics

one time you helped him steal a shopping cart from the local grocery store and now you guys use it to hold random stuff in the living room

another time he convinced you to try to make souffle’s at 3 am because he saw a tik tok on how to do it in the microwave

the household decided to ban you two from ever coming within a 5-foot radius of the kitchen

which was a lot because that apartment was small lowkey

things were not all chaos all the time, fortunately

what comes up must come down and so denki could not possibly be a magnet for stupidity all the time

it was too draining

denki is actually a decent cook when he puts his mind to it

so he takes over on days the bakugo cannot or will not cook for everyone

evidently the kitchen ban did not last very long

whenever you come home and hear music blasting from the kitchen, you know denki is making something for everyone

sometimes he lets you help but then you guys get distracted

bakugo chewed him out for wasting food because you guys ended up having a cucumber fight while he was making onigirazu for lunch

he also likes to steal your stuff, you've noticed

not in a malicious way, but if you use something different than him for lotion or hair care, he will use it

“_____ is this face mask supposed to tingle or does that mean i have an allergy?”

he is the king of bothering everyone when he is bored

if he is bored it becomes EVERYONES business

you have something important to do and you need peace? lock yourself in your room or denki will find you and pull you away from it

but overall you guys have fun together

living with him is not the worst thing in the world
