Summary: In another universe, your boyfriend is a bit... Odd, to say the least? Why do you stay with him? U-uh, because canon said so (ortho is just platonic ofc)!

Notes: Pure crack based off of popular fanon things that I honestly don't find accurate. No hate, just a bit of joking. Minor spoilers. Also, if you're touchy about popular fanon headcanons you have, you might want to avoid this post. I have no hateful intentions, but I understand it may be take that way. As always, I am open to constructive critiquing and discourse.

Riddle is going to collar you if you so much as breathe wrong. He does absolutely nothing nice for you. But then when you want to leave him, he breaks down crying...? Weird.

Trey is disturbingly obsessed with teeth, but he's completely perfect other than that. Literally perfect. No, really.

Deuce is incredibly dumb and well-intentioned. He's never done anything wrong in his life! Biker gang? What biker gang? You're just hallucinating.

Ace is an absolute asshole. He's never apologized for anything in his life. Just- a complete douche, somehow.

Cater is incapable of speaking on anything other than pure slang. You tell him you're going to break up with him, and he just says "yikes". Who does that?

Leona is literally the worst person you have ever met. Depression? What depression? He's just lazy! But yeah, he's the scum of the Earth. Trust. At least he respects women?

Ruggie is communist. You don't know where it came from, but he is. But he's also a scammer. Yeah, good luck.

Jack is a tsundere... You thought there was something else? No, that's it. He's a tsundere. He's cute, though.

Azul is a little baby boy. He's just that same little octopus he was. Scams, contracts, business? What are you talking about? He's just your little baby boy who'll break down crying if you don't tell him you love him every five seconds!

Floyd is a serial killer. What do you mean he's only seventeen? He's a serial killer! He kills people. That's right, he kills them. He's a merciless, remorseless killer.

Jade is completely sick and twisted. He'd kill you for a single corn chip, and he's never felt any emotion other than schadenfreude in his life. He's not seventeen, he's, uh- he's been lying to you! He's actually a demon who thrives off of souls (and being one hell of a butler).

Kalim is nice. He's also an idiot. That's right, this man has literally never had a critical thought in his life! Can you believe it? He's never had any hardships, either. Poisoning attempts? What poisoning attempts? There's nothing to see here!

Jamil is an asshole. There's no justification for it. His life was so amazing, it's not like he was basically a slave or anything. Why couldn't he just talk to Kalim before going through with his plans? It's literally that easy!

Vil is a mean girl. That's right. He's selfish, manipulative, and lazy! What do you mean 'he wants people to work and be the most beautiful they can be'? He's just a mean girl, guys. Nothing more to it. And I can't believe he ruined Rook! It isn't like Rook chose to move into Pomefiore or anything!

Rook is creepy, and a stalker, and an irredeemable piece of shit. You see, he used to be a shining beacon of perfection in Savannaclaw, but then the EVIL Vil had to RUIN him! The horror! He was so happy there, too! Everyone knows that dull, lifeless eyes are the number-one sign of happiness!

Epel is a perfect, dainty little boy who can do no wrong. He's just- a shining beacon of dainty and perfect ideals. So fragile. So perfect. So helpless. He has absolutely no autonomy. Trust me on that. Just a perfect little angel boy.

Idia is an unhygenic, depressed softie. He's never showered in his life! It's not like STYX had a lot of focus on systematic hygiene that Idia's used to or anything! And he's never looked down on others in his life! You can trust me on that!

Ortho is a kind, soft little robo-boy who can do no wrong. That time he tried to fire a laser beam on the school? Ignore that, he's just a little baby!

Malleus is sooo in love with you. No, he's not acting oddly due to being unused to friendship, he's in love, damnit! He's in love! He's making this an otome!

Lilia is a dad. And he thinks you should get together with Malleus. Really, he's just there to set you up with the dragon man!

Silver is the perfect, most noble and well-liked gentleman. Awkward? Unused to people wanting to hang out with him? Nope, none of that. Just perfection here!

Sebek is the scum of the Earth. Why, you may ask? Simple! He's loud and arrogant. I don't know why he hates humans so much, really, it's not like he's dealing with internalized species-ism or anything...

I love Miaya SO MUCH 😭 Most underrated girl.

These are my top 4! Though of course, as always, I Would Ship Her With Basically Any Girl. God I Love DR Sapphics

Miaya/Hina. I believe there's a doodle somewhere on here or my main about this, but I hold very fondly the headcanon that Monaca "has not successfully completed a single evil plan yet" Towa left Miaya for dead without confirming the kill, and Hina was part of the group who saved her and helped rehabilitate her after her life threatening injury. Firstly, because the potential of their interactions that we see in fake Miaya are SO cute. And secondly. I Think Aoi Should Have A GF Who Lives. She has earned a happily ever after with a beautiful wife.

MIAYA HAS NO CANON AGE WHICH MEANS I CAN FINALLY SHIP SOMEONE WITH CHISA!! Chisa's boundless enthusiasm and Miaya's enthusiasm when speaking through Usami are super compatible. They would annoy so many teens. They are extremely embarrassing moms.

This will sound a little odd at first brush, but Miu. I personally headcanon Miaya as having cerebral palsy, and knowing that they worked together in Summer Camp-verse to make that version of the Neo World Program, I am really fond of the idea of Miu taking her invention series about lying down and modifying it to make movement easier for Miaya. It adds a really cute angle to Miu's insistence on that series of inventions. And importantly, she'd be doing it so that it'd be possible for her and Miaya to fuck. There's no desexualizing of people with disabilities in Miu's house. If the girl is hot, Miu will find a way.

Chihiro! Intellectuals who canonically worked together on the Neo World Program. Usami is their daughter. Chiaki is also their daughter. Also, the idea of Chihiro introducing Miaya to her friends is a RIOT.

A Fond Farewell to Act 1

After dithering about a fashion faux pas most unfortunate, and with nothing else to do on all of the maps, it is finally time for me to bid a fond farewell to Act 1 of Baldur’s Gate 3, and via the Mountain Pass head into the uncertain transition stage to Act 2 (and presumably the consequences of my actions).

But before I go. A moment. To reflect on my favorite memories in this journey so far:

Alfira’s song and The Harpy Rock Concert

Aravyn chickening out of lying to an evil mirror, Astarion shoving her aside to show her how its done, only to fail so spectacularly on every single conversation check the mirror spits out a giant orb of molten death that starts chasing us around the room spewing deadly AOEs as I loudly scream “OH NO OH NO OH NO OH NO WHY CANT WE TARGET IT OH NO” and the entire party flees for their life, nearly locking Astarion in the cellar with the death orb he summoned

The Glitterbomb/Musical Mini-Heist

Best Quasit Girl

Ari seeing giant claw marks a dragon very obviously gouged into stone, failing her intelligence check, and then proudly declaring it the artistic statement of some mysterious person

Gale nearly dying from a concussion because I decided to put off taking a long rest and instead do a little lute concert tour around the Druid Grove, and one NPC loved it so much he enthusiastically hurled his tip of a single gold piece in the direction of my singing paladin — and straight into Gale’s skull and taking off 6 of his precious few remaining HP

Discovering the mighty cow summon spells

Operation War Drum

My dumbass Paladin talking to Minthara, and winning every single persuasion check, so that she entered into a conversation to very earnestly insist that this random forest is where the secret Druid Grove is, and have Minthara scream in frustration that they already checked there and to go FIND IT, only for us to return five seconds later and say that we totes got the real location this time and point to the same spot on the map. About five time in a row.

Halsin getting the whole party stuck in eternal combat for no other reason than he was a bear, and apparently the game took that personally

That time Astarion gleefully informed Aravyn she was unfuckable, only for a full 24 hours later to decide that he was actually jealous that she considered Gale prettier than him (but also approved of this??), and basically yelled out “CHALLENGE ACCEPTED” before flouncing off

The entirety of the Auntie Ethel adventure freaking me (the player) out so much I, the notorious loot goblin, refused to touch ANY food or beverage in the entire cursed swamp even after finishing all of the quests and clearing the area

Nearly blowing up a dwarf trapped in a field of flammable mushrooms, and somehow both he and the valuable quest item miraculously survived. Only for my dumbass Paladin to eat the quest item mid-battle for no reason at all, and me not realizing until twenty hours of gameplay in that I’ve doomed the dwarf and his unpleasant wife to a life of destitution and also preventing one of my companions from regaining precious lost memories.

Getting a TPK several times in a row from the giant landshark in the Underdark, before finally beating it with actual tactical smarts. Only to revive it with a temporary NPC ally as a spawn so it could help us in fights because we are smart and tactical now. And then forgetting to dismiss it after the temporary NPC ally turned against us, only to return to the same area several hours later where we once again nearly died to the now undead manifestation of our hubris

Smiling and waving at whoever is on the end of those scrying eyes like we’re in some sort of beauty pageant

I will never forget you Act 1. We laughed. We cried. Made many poor life decisions that I’m sure are going to come back and bite me in the ass very soon. But for now, we must march onwards into the unknown, where I’m sure Ari and the Tadfools will probably almost blow up the multiverse or something, at the rate they’re going.

hewwwooo i posted all these on twitter first but yea i made this bc robo sweats rly hard when they get pokemon related asks about their characters and i’m a mf who loves pokemon way too much not to have pokemon headcanons about said characters 👍👍 i’ll put my headcanons in the read more!

Quest & Lucario- there really wasn’t a better pick in my mind for our emotionally intelligent, tough, blue-coded, dog-loving love interest than a blue dog that can shatter boulders with its fists of steel and read the auras of living beings. And bc lucario can read its trainer’s emotions i think it’d be a good therapy dog for quest! I personally like think that quest would’ve found lucario as a little rilou like how he finds the puppy in the game’s good end extra for him.

NakedToaster & Totodile- so i picked shiny totodile bc it’s green little reptile just like a certain cryptid green lizard mascot in bloomic LOL… but i also oddly i think they’d have a cute dynamic together?? Chill toaster would take great care of their excitable little chompy gremlin 🥺 and let them play games on their phone like in this pkemon movie screenshot 😭

BUT! I also want to mention another headcanon that before Toaster had totodile, he had a Porygon-Z that disappeared and learned how to talk. This talking porygon-z being Bloombot 👍

xyx & Alolan Meowth- obviously i had to pick a cat pokemon as a stand in for xyx’s actual cat. I chose alolan meowth specifically bc the pokedex mentions these meowths being especially cunning and intelligent, and i’d like to think these two would affectionately try to pull pranks and one-up each other constantly. But they love each first and foremost!! And if those two smarmy assholes ever decide to team up pull a prank on someone else, god save that poor soul LMAO

Nightowl & Sylveon- i’d like to think nightowl had an eevee since childhood! Eevee also evolves into sylveon with high friendship/affection and i think nightowl would certainly be able to do that LOL although having such a girly looking pokemon would probably rly piss his mom off and would probably threaten to take it away from him 😢 but i think he would manage to keep it safe and bring it to college with him. The pokedex also mentions that sylveon’s ribbon feelers emit a calming aura and so it would be a rly great emotional support pokemon for poor nightowl 💖🥺

June & Politoed- cute frog girl gets cute frog pokemon EASY. but yea there are a few frog-like pokemon to choose from but i ultimately choose politoed bc the simple water typing and cute design felt the best for June 👍 i did briefly consider Bellibolt but i felt the electric sub-typing didn’t suit her 🤔 i’d definitely pick it if i was choosing full teams than one partner tho

Two2 & Yamper- i vaguely remember it being mentioned that Two has a little dog like in their pfp! And pokemon has a lot of dog pokemon to choose from 😅 but i ultimately picked yamper bc i like the idea of anxious and skittish Two with a very friendly and zippy little dog! Yamper never fails to cheer up Two 🥹 also i personally think the electric typing suits Two as well

BigLady & Tsareena- two boss queens being boss queens together 👏👑 i think Lady would have gotten tsareena as a little bounsweet not thinking too much about it and be pleasantly surprised as it evolved! Tsareena has a grass/fighting typing and stomps the shit out of things with its powerful legs, so i think it suits our beautiful and strong Lady 💖💪

Salocin & Nidoking- i personally think Salo and his late wife would be one of those double battle couples with their matching Nidoking and Nidoqueen respectively! After his wife passes tho he’d keep nidoqueen since it’s also his nidoking’s partner 🥺 i also think nidoking’s ground typing fits salo pretty nicely. Another headcanon i have is that his new partner Mara would have a cute normal type pokemon like a minccino!

Onionthief & Venusaur- i originally was going to have a just a bulbasaur as onion’s partner bc it’s more onion-shaped, but i ultimately decided that onion would be the type to fully evolve his pokemon. He’d definitely have his venusaur since it was a wee little bulbasaur tho, they are lifelong partners! Venusaur would definitely help take care of onion’s siblings, and play with them by letting them climb all over it and picking them up with its vine whip 😭

This little robo boi then remembered how he can ask Seph for help (and that she's good at handling these issues), so he literally dragged her away from the Botanical garden and into the Ignihyde dorm. Idia tried to turn her away, but eventually gave in due to the pleas of Ortho. He was in denial at first, since if Ortho can't help him, then why would this random girl be able to? Surprise surprise, he felt much better the day after her treatment.

When she's bored, she likes to ring up a random number in NRC and try to start a conversation with them.

She is TERRIFIED of Leona. Thus, him being the only guy she doesn't want to talk to.

Chapter 5

Timeskip

I found Kitana alone as jade leaves her. I approach her “Kitana” I say causing her to turn to me “you! What do you wa-” “I’m sorry” I say interrupting her she gives me a surprised look “excuse me?” she asked “I said I’m sorry. I know your father is angry at you for not killing me. To be honest, if my instincts hadn’t helped me at all I would’ve been killed” she steps forward “you mean to tell me you fought against me, all of your opponents and it was on pure instinct?” she asked “yeah but-” suddenly Raiden and the others appear behind them “hey kid what were you thinking? Going off to fight the robo-dudes you’re nuts” Johnny said walking up to us I raised an eyebrow “and I suppose I should have let them turn Sub-Zero into a cy-…did you tell him about Bi-Han and why I have his guards?” I asked worried I would have to fight “he already knows don’t worry” then I look to Kitana “Kitana I’m warning you as a friend, Shao Khan is the enemy here. Your mother, Sindel, was a brave person-” I suddenly get a migraine ‘the more you say the closer you are to the end, child’ I hear a voice in my head before my migraine leaves. I place a hand on my head “look do me a favour and go to Shang Tsung's flesh pits” I told her before walking off “but I am forbidden” she replied making me stop and turn to her “and why do you think that is?” I asked.

“I’m not asking you to obey me I’m asking you to trust me” I said smiling then walking off with the others. As soon as we were out of site I looked to Raiden “I’m going to follow her” I said stopping. “Lady (Name), I do not mean to sound disrespectful but would that not be too dangerous?” Smoke asked. I look directly at him and ponder for a few moments realizing that I didn’t know what I would do if I found Mileena “you’re right I don’t know what I was thinking” I said blushing in embarrassment. What I didn’t notice is that Sub-Zero, Johnny, Liu Kang, Kung Lao and Smoke all blushed looking at me. “So kid what’s the plan? You seem to know what’s going on” Johnny said “yeah like me saving you from her kicking your ass” I muttered “Raiden, I need you to take Johnny Liu Kang and Kung Lao to the arena where the tournament will be held and wait. Sub-Zero Smoke you’re with me, we’re going to the flesh pits. Like hell Kitana is getting executed on my watch” I say walking towards the dark forest with Sub-Zero and Smoke following me.

Timeskip because I’m running out of ideas We enter the flesh pits. I look around to find no one here “looks like Kitana isn’t here yet. Wait here until I give the order ok?” I ask looking at them they nod. I walk over to the tanks of liquid contain unidentifiable humanoid abominations causing me to cringe “fuck me, these make the games versions look like teddies” I muttered when I find Mileena on the table still asleep. I cautiously walk over to her until I’m standing by her side I look over her body and blush a little then back to her face ‘the game makes her look ugly, but she’s really pretty. Hm, game designers really need to fix that’ I smile when Mileena’s eyes snap open startling me “what do we have here?” she asks as she gets up. I move away from the table “why is an Earthrealmer here? Why would such a pretty little girl be here?” I blushed at her words

When Kitana walked in “what in the name of-” “Sister” Mileena interrupts turning to her “So pretty, so fair, so sad and alone… Come. Let us be a family!” Mileena says opening her arms to Kitana “You are not my family. You are a monstrosity!”

They fight. Kitana finds out the hard way that Mileena is able to use magical powers and is not averse to getting violent. Nonetheless, her own weapons and fighting skill manages to see her through the fight, and eventually the clone is left unconscious on the floor. “Farewell, sister!” Kitana says about to deliver the finishing blow. I quickly look around ‘where the hell is Shang Tsung when you need the idiot!’ I think. I quickly run in front of Mileena just as Kitana is about to strike “move aside, (Name)” she warns me. “sorry but you will not harm her” I said looking over her shoulder to she Shang Tsung “points to Shang Tsung him you can” I smirked as she aimed her anger on Shang Tsung. I quickly pick up Mileena bridal style and carry her out signalling Sub-Zero and Smoke to follow. As we are running I laugh “what is so funny?” Sub-Zero asked “I wonder how much I’ve messed up the original story line of the game by bringing Mileena” I smile. Timeskip

I clothed Mileena in her outfit from the game minus the sais. I tend to her wounds and quietly leave ‘sorry Mileena but some things can’t change’ I thought sadly as I run off to find my friends. I make it to the stadium and see Kung Lao standing over the bodies of Shang Tsung and Quan Chi. I smile for a moment before I remember what happens after it using all my strength I run to him “Kung Lao move!” I yell catching everyone’s attention I launch at him, curling into a ball, when he moved causing me to slam into Shao Khan.

He crashes back into his throne as I skid backwards due to bouncing back off him. I grit my teeth at the pain as Kung Lao helps me up “you owe me one, Lao” I say looking up at him he blushes just as much as I do since our faces are close together. We move away from each other and back to Raiden “Liu Kang” I said looking at said person “you’re up. smirks knock em dead” I say as he smiles and walks up to the battle field “Lady (Name)” I turn to look at Kung Lao who was blushing “thank you for saving me” he said trying to look at me. I smile at him “you would have done the same thing” I said going back to watch the match. Shao Kahn is every bit the mighty warrior he claims to be, with control of both dark magic and superhuman strength at his disposal. In my opinion he’s also an arrogant selfish douchbag. But Liu Kang, fuelled with outrage at seeing his friend almost die, takes it to the emperor and dishes out an absolutely brutal beating. Finally, after an epic battle, Kahn is knocked to the floor.

“On your feet!” Liu Kang commanded. As Kahn struggles to his feet, barely conscious, Liu Kang raises his fist, which lights up with his signature fire. “For the shaolin and Earthrealm!” he declares then charges forward and punches Shao Kahn straight in the chest, his fist bursting through the other side of Kahn's body. He withdraws his fist and Kahn falls to his knees, coughing up blood. With a final gurgle, he falls forward, unmoving. The arena is completely silent. “I cannot believe… Earthrealm has won” Shang Tsung said in shock As with Liu Kang's victory before, a light from the heavens shines down on him, the Elder Gods noting his victory in the new tournament.

“The Elder Gods have spoken. Earthrealm is free of Shao Kahn forever” Raiden says smiling. With a flick of his head, Tsung motions to two Tarkatan guards. They pick up Kahn's body and walk off. All of Kahn's minions follow, save Kitana. Kitana walks up to Liu Kang's side. They look briefly at each other, but say nothing as they both look into each other’s eyes. I felt a strange grip on my heart seeing Liu Kang looking at Kitana like that ‘am I…jealous? No I can’t be he’s my friend and it’s obvious he likes her better anyway’ I thought smiling sadly as I walk off not knowing I was being followed.

Timeskip

It’s been a few days since the battle in outworld and I’m still not home which is kinda annoying. I haven’t had any contact with anyone from the tournament since I left although I had heard a rumour that Sub-Zero was captured by the Lin Kuei I just hope that isn’t true if it is I have failed to keep the promise I made to Bi-Han. Everything is as it should be but I can’t help think I’m forgetting something. Something important.

3rd P.O.V

Back in Shao Kahn's throne room, all of his lieutenants, Baraka, Goro, Mileena, Sheeva, Ermac, Sektor, Cyrax, Shang Tsung and the centaur Motaro, are discussing what to do next. “Shao Kahn is finished” Goro stated “Mileena is his heir. She should rule” Baraka spoke out “Mileena? She exists only because of my sorcery” Shang Tsung said implying that he should be the new ruler. “And you breathe because I restrain mine” all lieutenants turn around to see who the new voice belonged to. Shao Kahn is indeed alive and walking toward them - albeit shakily and with a hand on his former chest wound, with Quan Chi by his side. “Emperor!” Shang Tsung exclaimed “You live!” Motaro says astonished. Everyone except Shang Tsung bows before him. “I am not so easily killed. Quan Chi accelerated my recovery” Shao Khan states walking towards them “Emperor, I—” “Not. One. Word. Because of you, Outworld can no longer merge with Earthrealm!” Shao Khan interrupted Shang Tsung.

“There may yet be an alternative, Emperor. Invasion.” Quan Chi offered shocking everyone “Uh-- Invasion?!” Shao Kahn holds his hand up. Shang Tsung immediately shuts up. “Do you mock me? Sindel's Ward prevents me from setting foot in Earthrealm” Shao Khan growls limping to his throne. “Have you considered why your wife and empress chose to betray you in this particular fashion?” Quan Chi questioned “Of course. But even after millennia, her motives are a mystery”

“She realised that the safeguards afforded by the Elder Gods through Mortal Kombat are but fiction. She sacrificed herself to give Earthrealm protection the Elder Gods could not. So Earthrealm could not suffer as had Edenia” “Indeed” now in a desert wasteland in Earthrealm. Quan Chi and Noob Saibot are standing before a green swirling of magic. “I have mastered the spells necessary for her resurrection. Her ward will be nullified. And with it the barrier that prevents your entry into Earthrealm” From the magical swirl, a skeletal hand raises itself from the ground. “I will return her to you, of course” Another skeletal hand joins it.

“You will find her much more… cooperative.” “This is a very magnanimous offer” “I wish only to serve, Emperor.” The rest of the skeleton pulls itself from the sand. “I am weary of sorcerers, Quan Chi. Prove your worth. Bring her to me.” Shao Khan Commanded. Quan Chi rolls the skeleton over with his magic and begins reproducing it's former muscle mass, blood, organs and skin. The skeleton screams out loud as the process completes itself. Noob readies himself in a combat stance as Quan Chi approaches the form. Finally, the newly resurrected woman, Queen Sindel - sits upright. Her pupils are glazed over with white, and there's not a stitch of clothing on her.

“Sindel” Quan Chi says making Sindel look at him “Quan Chi?” she asks “Shao Kahn looks forward to your return” “The emperor! Yesss” Quan Chi motions to Noob, who lets his guard down. “What of Kitana?” “Kitana now allies herself with Earthrealm” “Then she is no longer my daughter. Take me to Shao Kahn” “Yes, Empress” He stands up and looks at Noob through the corner of his eye and says “The invasion of Earthrealm can now begin”

Mrs Shroud definitely looks like those signature pink magical girls. It’s really cute and super adorbs 😍, well when she is 16. Mrs Shroud actually first appears in book 6 actually. You ain't telling me that Mr Shroud won't know if the gate to the underworld is opened(the Shroud hereditary UM is basically just to open/close it, so they would know if it was opened) so mama Shroud would immediately BOOK it back as a magical girl and just break through the whole security measures and go beat her son's ass back to normal.(cannonically speaking, Ortho did block out the whole STIX from even reaching out to other outside help at all, so there is a fair chance no one from outside could access that place. Cannonically, the Shroud parents were off the island with some very important business at that time so I guess there is that nuance to the situation) :'3

Just imagine an epic ass fight and suddenly this sparkly pink lady just comes around and roundhouse knocks the overBlot down and save the day. :D

As such, we get to meet Mrs Shroud and also have a very awkward time in between Orpheus and the whole Shroud family, especially since robo Ortho was now only a memory card, who seemed altered a bit by the titans. Orpheus thinks that if he just acts like a normal cat for once in his goddamn mascot life, he would get off the hook from facing the inevitable consequences. :'3

In book 7, imma pull a PTTW and have an evil entity steal Malleus's powers to pose as him and reek havoc. Just so we can have magical girl Malleus fighting his doppelganger and having one hell of a ride. Also for Mrs Shroud to accidentally punt him in a wall. :'3

When has July 31st been his day?

When has a single gift given to the only son from the Shinhuji family been just for him? When has a cake been just for him? When has a single moment of his birthday been something he was eagerly awaiting for?

Korekiyo’s family were always wrapped around his sister and he even fell down the trap of worshiping her for nearly a decade of his life, always walking on eggshells around her and her wants and needs above his own, always sacrificing his own birthday for her to be spoiled and fed with love cause that’s what he was raised to want more than anything. Because she wasn’t going to live past 21 they said. Because she was his big sister. Because she was beautiful and perfect. Because she was the only one who ever loved him…

The anthropologist’s light eyes slowly flutter open in a squint, the first thing he sees in his dark bedroom is the glowing neon pink numbers of the time of 8 A.M. The first thing his ears hear is the sound of muffled voices and birds chirping outside his window. The first thing he smells is something sweet smelling and craveable.

Slowly, his long aching body sits up by his elbows and hands and his tense core strength, his body popping softly under his wrapped pale skin dust with flush and faint freckles and scars from the years, he brings a black painted nail towards his face and scratch the extra layer of skin under his eyeball and flicking away the light piece of sleep that formed between his lashes and eyelid the night prior. He drags forth his tongue across his pale and dry lips, getting them wet for a second before he becomes disgusted by the morning taste of his own saliva and whips away the fluid with the back of his hand.

Shifting his tall form left and forward, Korekiyo pressed his feet flat against the hardwood floor with a back arch. Afterwards he carefully pushing himself off the bed and moved his knees and the rest of his legs forward until his nimble hands grasp the silky black robe and draped his arms through the sleeve holes until it wrapped his body in a gentle soft hug in which he hummed happily and hugged his body close, a habit he never quite forgotten since his childhood, and rubbed his hands through his short black hair with a happy sigh of content.

He made his way out his bedroom and to the hall painted in a lovely robin eggshell blue with an even more lovely dark blue towards black ebony border line painted over.

As he walks across the floor past the colorful wall and it’s pictures that seem to increase with each step, he smiles at the feeling of the short strains of black against his pale fingers as the muffled voices come clearer to his ears as the smell of syrup fills his nose.

Peering his eyesight into the marble black and golden wall painted kitchen he sees his beautiful wife finishing a pot of tea while Himiko slices some lemons beside her, just behind her is the small yet strong force of their eldest finishing up some pancakes along side Kokichi who’s being his usual self and putting chocolate chips in the pancake batter.

It was only a few years back on this day did Korekiyo see this new family. . .

He was just out of the killing game, everyone was, and it was taking a while to get used to living life normal again. Luckily, he was able to become friends with the others despite the persona he showed, despite the progress to leave that household he once deemed family by blood he was able to move past them into a life of his own with them helping him each step of the way.

He was standing in the sidewalk with everyone else as their city gets darker in rain and smoke as those coated in despair destroy the area in chaos and mayhem, his light eyes glued to the screen on the large screen of Shibuya’s crossing that shows a man covered in Monokuma robo armor holding up a scared girl by her arms over a balcony’s edge.

The young man couldn’t hear a single thing as he stared at the scared expression of the adorable face twisted in fearful tears and snot as her long hair grew tangled and messy from the harsh winds and the man’s disgusting behavior of terrifying the poor dear.

Before he was even able to properly process it his legs were already running to the building, blinded to try and save her.

He only recognized her face from the file talking about what her and four other kids her age did while they were in the killing game of Danganronpa, hearing what kind of Hell she went through…how sick he felt when realizing she knows the same pains as him…

As he jumped over the railing after her, his brown-green eyes locked into her vivid pink, his long arms stretching out to grab hold of her, his hair loose and his face for once since the game ended bare as his mask went discarded, all he was thinking about is he would never ever want her to feel the way he does… To wake up every morning on the verge of tears… To feel like you want to vomit everything you eat and consume… To constantly want to bath and wash away the feelings on your skin… To always, always, feel like you can’t ever be normal and happy again…

Korekiyo managed to walk away from the fall with a broken arm and a bruises Kotoko, and after much talking with the little Oni Hime and the others he opened his arms to spend time with her, which was easier said than done with the two. He refused to let her step foot within the Shinguji house so he would hang out with her with Angie’s help of her family house or sometimes, over time with talks, Miu’s apartment. He bought her many toys, candies, cakes, and other items she would like to try and show he’s no threat to her. Though sadly those offerings weren’t going anywhere. He was ready to give up. Until—

“She will be moving to America with us.”

Korekiyo was simply lucky to be able to hear the meeting of Kotoko’s mother and father talk to Makoto Naegi and an officer, due to his closeness to the girl, sitting beside him are his family who wanted to hear the news as well.

Makoto let out a breath and opened his green eyes to them, “Mr and Mrs Utsugi, we understand you are Kotoko-Chan’s legal guardians, however you are still under investigation of the charges of prostitution and abuse of a minor and Kotoko-Chan is still-” His concerns get caught off as the father leans forward with a sickly sweet smile, “She made up the whole thing, she told you, yes? We feel terrible for what we weren’t aware happened with what that man did to our little angel. That’s why we think it’s best to take her to America with us.”

Korekiyo glanced left and looked at Kotoko, who’s sitting in a chair farthest from everyone staring at her shoes with blank eyes, his heart aching at the scene and at the idea of not seeing her again.

His mind wandered back to a time when he was standing head hanging low in his school office as his parents demanded he apologize for daring to draw a picture of him and his highschooler of a sister bathing together, claiming it was just a strange imagination of his mind.

He looked back to the parents as his hearing canceled out slowly, skin growing hot and sick at the mere touch of his mother’s gentle hand on his as if it should be comforting.

He can’t really recall what happened after that, but that it led to Kotoko sitting in a car with a bruised tear stained face now disowned Korekiyo being driven by a worried looking Makato. And it slowly led to Kotoko slowly eating alongside the strange man and accepting his gifts and the two talking and playing together with or without Angie or Miu or Komura and Toko.

The anthropologist leans against the white painted door frame as he watches Kotoko finish up the pancakes with a smile, before welcoming her tight bear hug and squeal. “Happy birthday papa!” Angie walks over and gives the man a kiss on the lips with her toes tipped tall, a giggling leaving those soft lips he adore, “Happy birthday e ku'u aloha~!”
