9. Most disliked characters)? Why?

Calico Jack, hands down. I know we like to joke about Izzy being the only non muppet but to me that's CJ. He reminds us that toxic masculinity is well and truly real and Stede isn't the badass Ed thinks he is and the crew would be floundering in the real world of pirates. He's a necessary evil and I hate him for it. I also hate that I know and am friends with a lot of CJs irl and they're sadly fun to hang out with.

23. Unpopular character you love?

Izzy in a way, I think he's crotchety and irritable and so important to the plot, the show wouldn't be the same without him fr. I could do without having spent s2 with the death threats in my inbox 🙃 but beyond that, the character and his arc itself is so much fun.

27. Least shippable character?

To me- Zheng. Just didn't get enough time. i don't see her with Olu or the garlic soup, there was 0 chemistry for me.

I see her as someone hypercompetent and a person who's under so much pressure (largely self inflicted) to be the "best" at what they do and she deserves to discover softness and kindness on her own terms. She's so unlike Ed in the sense that I don't think she'll ever want to retire? She likes her job, she isn't tired of it. She could be so much more. If we'd had a s3 (and per rumors), we would have had more of her arc and her motivations.

So, first off, probably one of the two fics I've written that weren't in TWD, Blood in the Water. It's a peek at Cardan during the month when Jude's being held undersea.

Second, my favorite Caryl fic that I have written, Wildest Dreams. Carol and Daryl are assassins tasked with eliminating the same target. This remains one of my favorite Caryl fics that I have ever written because I love the premise so much!

Third, (and you're getting twd fic from here on out just because them's the odds with me only having written two fics that aren't set in twd-verse) is probably going to be August and December. I say this purely because I wrote it to spite the fandom, and it remains my crowning glory! *evil emoji* Okay, I will be nice and say upfront this time that the pairing is Daryl x Hershel. You've been warned. Which was more than I gave to the people when I first wrote it.

Fourth, is probably my Lori-centric fic This fire won't go out (thought just a flicker it may be). It has some caryl too if you squint just right. But mostly I had a lot of Lori feelings at the time and I needed to get them out. She is greatly maligned and wrongly hated in this fandom, and I was tired of it.

Lastly, probably the fic that has the most wish-fulfillment for me in it, is Blood and Water. I would still, to this day, give unseemly things to whoever, in order to see a conversation like the one I wrote play out on screen in some form or fashion between Carol and Daryl. We need catharsis, dammit!

E: What character do you identify with most?  Is there a certain fic of yours that captures these qualities particularly well?

It depends on the fandom, and it depends on the day. Although I'd never felt so pulled towards a character as I did with Alex Manes (RNM), it's true that I see myself a lot in Carlos Reyes (911LS). Lately I've been watching a lot of a Spanish show called 4 Estrellas and I see myself in at least two characters: Luz and Javier.

Funny thing is that, although I see myself a lot in Carlos, the fic that best represents me is actually a fic about TK's past and his mental state: from wedding bells to private hells (to fresh new starts and wish you wells)

J:  What’s your favorite fanfic trope?  Have you written it?

You know, I discovered what tropes were very late in fandom. I think my favorite one is enemies to lovers, idiots in love, fake dating and being the last ones to find out they're in love.

I'm pretty sure I've written them in one way or the other a lot of times, but right now only a handful come to mind!

recipe for disaster (what’s in your heart) - RNM, Princess Diaries AU, idiots in love

forever in a second too short (home is a heartbeat) - 911LS, Marry Me AU, fake dating

Is there another example for my fave tropes? Probably. Do I remember writing it? Probably not...

U: Is there a pairing you would like to write, but haven’t tried yet?

Right now, Gregory/Jeanine from Abbott Elementary and Christa/Neal from Code Black. And that's because, although I haven't given up on writing, I'm taking things slow.

😈 Has there been a point in a story where you did something just to be playfully mean to your readers?

Who? Me? How dare you.

God, I was looking through some of my angsty caryl fics the other day and I was like- bish, who hurt you?

😅 What's a story or scene you've created that you're a smidge embarrassed exists?

I probably shouldn't have written any of the scenes in the infamous coffin!sex fic. But in my defense, I am an idiot. Also, I was provoked.

There is my earliest fic floating around on ff.net under a different name some where for "Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's 'The Lost World'" that is probably truly heinous.

🤗 What advice would you give to new fanfic writers that are just getting started?

Write. Just write. You do not get better in a vacuum nor right away. My writing has evolved massively over the years. I keep all my old fics up because they are an example of my progress. I know it can be hard to write and not get traction when you have poured your soul into something that doesn't get reviews or recognition. But truly, the best advice I have is to keep going.

I tend to write what I want to watch or read, so sometimes those are very niche tropes, ideas, scenes, or pairings, so I am prepared for low traction. Think about what you are writing. There are popular pairings where your writing might have a better chance of being seen if that is more important to you. Especially if you are just starting out.

10. Most disliked arc? Why?

It would probably be s2's villain arc. I still find it to be one of the convoluted and unclear arcs in the series so far. Helena's entire motivations made no fucking sense, the double kidnapping of Alex? No sense!

16. If you could change anything in the show, what would you change?

Oh boy just one thing??? lol okay on a more serious note, I think one of the most serious issues that RNM has is the parade of guest stars and the way that so much of the storyline is wasted on it. Tighten up the storylines and focus on the core cast of characters.

24. Would you recommend RNM to a friend? Why or why not?

Hahahaha oh boy now that is the question. Honestly, I think it'll depend on how this season ends. So tbd!

8. how does it make you feel when it rains?

I feel warm and safe in my house. I'm not too much of a fan of being wet from the rain and it always feels cold no matter the time of year. So I like being safe and at home.

17. when's the last time you read an entire book?

Sadly, it has been a long, long time. I don't remember the last book I physically read to completion. *sigh* This is a sad day.

22. do you like wearing nail polish?

I love it. But now I do nails strips as it is the only thing that stays on my nails. And you can have patterns and things too. Not just solid colors.

Given my main fandom is a ship fandom:

1.) People thinking for themselves.

2.) more focus on the ship itself instead of “haters”, anti-ships, and rival shippers

3.) more content that is actual content: gifs, headcanons, and fics

T - Do you have any hard and fast headcanons that you will die defending? 

Daryl Dixon isn’t grossed out by periods/menstruatuon

X - A trope which you are almost certain to love in any fandom.

5. When future scholars analyse your work, which fic will they find most puzzling?

Wow is this a tough one. Probably it'd be one fic that's no longer published, a very dark 100-word drabble that led some of my readers to doubt my sanity. Back then, it affected me so much I deleted it and it was the beginning of the end of my love story with that fandom.

If we're talking about fics that are actually published, I'd go with anything from my early days when I wrote either HP fiction or RPF slash fiction. I don't usually link to those fics, since they're mostly not on Ao3, but today (and for the briefest moment) I'm linking you to my LiveJournal Archive.

14. If you melted your three most kudos'd fics, what would they smell like?

(I've cheated a bit with this one, since I chose the first three complete fics sorted by kudos)

We have if hurting wounds would mend (never left that place inside my head) (Young Royals), with all the sorrow and the joy (911LS) and this isn't drama, it's love (the kind you can't get away from) (911LS).

I think that of hope were a smell, these fics would smell like it. To me, they'd smell like lavender and carnations — the smell of those flowers that blossom and grow when the world is against them, and yet they manage to be beautiful and perfect.

20. Uh oh! All the kids are hooked on your fics—what behaviour(s) are their parents now concerned about?

As you all know, I have a tendency to write angsty fics with a happy ending. Some might even say some of those are dark. So I guess parents should be concerned about their kids replicating toxic behaviors only to find out they're redeemed by the end of the reading.

9. What are the best things about your current fandom?

I kind of love how fucking unhinged almost everyone watching AMC's "Interview with a Vampire" is. Literally every single one of you fuckers absolutely cannot love something about the show a normal amount and I am obsessed with that.

15. Is there an obscure ship which you love?

Flesh x Lucky from SYFI's "Van Helsing" and Jamie x Mitch from "ZOO" tbh. But, since this is me, I probably have 45.

28. If someone were to draw a piece of fanart for your story, which story would it be and what would the picture be of?

I have been blessed with a few fan arts of my fics over the years and it always tickles me pink.

I think the story I would love to see someone turn into fan art is my polin ficlet "Eunoia" ...for obvious...mirror related ....reasons.

Were you named after anyone? Not that I am aware of.

When was the last time you cried? Earlier when I read astory on Facebook about Ann-Margret and how she treats veterans. Such a beautiful story I read.

Do you have kids? Yes, I have one living child, and one child that I lost before I was able to birth her. I am not sure if that child was a girl or boy, but in my heart, I feel she was a girl. So I've always referred to that pregnancy/baby as a girl.

Do you use sarcasm a lot? No. Only seldomly can I use it correctly.

What's the first thing you notice about people? Their smile or their eyes.

What's your eye color? Green.

Scary movies or happy endings? Both. But if I have to choose, I'll pick happy endings. But scary movies are some of my absolute favorites.

Any special talents? Not a bit.

Where were you born? Illinois.

What are your hobbies? Writing, attempting to craft (but it looks terrible. But I have fun). Photoshop.

Have any pets? Yes, I do. I have three cats named Emily, Penelope, and Picasso. I have two dogs named Roxie and Abby. And I have two African Dwarf Frogs named Tango and Cash. I want more of the frogs.

What sports do you play/have you played? I have played basketball, softball, t-ball (as a wee thing), and volleyball.
