Share like Gallagher's do.
"Fuck, are there any things you don't share at all?" Tammy asks, interrupting the dialogue between Lip and Ian about the exchange of some trifle.
The Gallaghers turn to her at the same time, blinking in surprise a couple of times. Ian frowns and sends Lip a questioning look, like "she doesn't know something?". Lip is at this moment trying to remember if he even mentioned the details of the exchange in their family and what it really means.
"Well.. We've always shared." Lip begins. "Food, clothes, money. What else could you expect?"
Tammy doesn't ask for an explanation. She fucking understands perfectly, remove your stereotypes about blondes. But still..
"What about hygiene?" She continues. "Clothes and the rest are understandable, but.. Soap? Did you seriously share soap with each other? Or.."
"Are you talking about hygiene at the Gallagher house? Pretty naive for someone who's lived there for a long time, Tammy." Ian grins. "It's okay now, but then.."
"I remember one of Fiona's guys squeaking from a cockroach in the kitchen." Lip laughs softly, remembering the huge eyes and the thin squeak. God, he was so scared.
"Or when Debbie accidentally stepped on a rat at night!" His brother adds. "Fuck, it seems the mouse was more scared than Debs.."
"So, what kind of thing is forbidden to share in the Gallagher house?" Tammy frowns and grins at her question.
"Em.. Well, probably partners." Ian turns his head to Lip with a cheeky smile. "I think we have slightly different tastes in this, dude."
Lip winces sharply at this and makes Ian laugh louder.
"Not Mickey-Fucking-Milkovich, I'm asking you. No more mention of that, Ian."

Soulmate au: Jacob Frye x reader 1/3
Soulmate au Chibi clone: basically when you've cross paths with with your soulmate a small chibi of them appears to you, it's about the size of a guinea pig and won't leave your side the longer you're in denial of your feelings or until you've met your soulmate again, after which they disappear.
Y/n was in a rush trying to get to work she wasn't paying attention to the road to notice the blighter carriage speeding towards her! when she did everything just sort of slowed down for the y/ht woman who thought this was it for her, when suddenly she was suddenly tackled out of the way at the last second.
"Gotta be more careful lad" a playful voice warned as hooded man climbed off her and hopped on to another carriage and chased after the one the one that nearly ran her over. All before Y/n could even thank him or correct him, the day was mostly a blur at the glass smith Y/n had told her mentor what had happened and he asked if she was good to work, the y/nat insisted she was fine and went about her shift.
Later when she got back to her shoddy home and collapsed on her bed, only to jump away suddenly in fright when she heard something squeak in distress under the covers, she grimaced seeing something moving under them Y/n swallowed hard as she reached for the covers praying it wasn't a rat! It definitely wasn't a rat... it was a little man? the two just sat stared at each other.
He had mischievous hazel eyes and slicked back brown hair under a brown flat cap and his attire was very... wild? the tiny man wearing a very unkempt outfit the jacket and pants had patches on them, his shirt was untucked and there appeared to be a hood tucked under the collar of his jacket.  the little man cocked a brow which she noticed the left one had a scar as he started to paced back and forth in thought pausing every now and again to scrutinize her, apparently he was liking what he was seeing, because a few moments later he ran over hugged and snuggle her belly while making this weird humming noises!
Meanwhile Y/n was freaking out trying to understand what the hell was going on?! what-.. why was there a tiny man in her bed? where'd did it come from?! before looking over at her bookcase and saw a book her mother had left her. The Little Soulmates... She got up causing the little man to whine in protest as he clung on to her shirt Y/n calmly placed him back on her bed, and went over to her bookcase only to yelp in surprise when this tiny rope shot out from behind her and the little man came flying passed zipping lining up to the top of her desk!
Y/n blinked and squinted she saw this odd gauntlet on his arm, he saw her staring and immediately started humming all proud of himself and looked at the y/ht woman as if he were asking "Are you impressed?" with his chest puffed out, she chuckled nervously and patted him on the head causing him to blush. before grabbing the worn out storybook.
She started reading, it was about two people from rival families a boy and a girl who were taught to disliked each other. Then one day a tiny fairy appeared to the boy to his surprise the fairy bore a striking resemblance to the girl. Through the years the fairy stayed by his side for years, then one day the man the boy had grow into had heard the girl was to be married to awful old Duke.
Distraught he rushed to the church and confronted the woman the girl had grown into and was stunned to find her running to his house and not only that she had a tiny fairy in her arms! and it looked just like him! the two declared their love for each other then and there! then mysteriously as they appeared the fairies disappeared and the two lovers lived happily ever after...
Y/n's brows furrowed and turned the pages to the author's bio and found out this was actually a true story! it was about her grandparent then went into detail about soulmates and the like, It seemed silly at the time, But Y/n vaguely recalled her mother talking about the tiny fairies too a friend how she met hers and rejected him for Y/n's father because he was rich.
She regretted it when her father left them high and dry for another woman and it was too late to start over, her mother's soulmate had passed away due to fever. Her mother never forgiven herself for that... As she told her daughter on her deathbed.
Y/n frowned at the memory then looked at her 'Fairy' who's distracted himself when he found a bag some of the reject beads she made at work he seemed particularly fixated on this one the size of a chickpea that was black and had a gold and green bird on it...
"So, your supposed to be an avatar of my soulmate, eh?" She rested  chin on her hand still coming to terms with it, He certainly wasn't anyone she recognized her thoughts swam back to when she was almost ran over...To the hooded man her y/ec eyes narrowed at the little hood tucked into the fairy man's collar and without warn gave it a little tug.
the hazel eyed fae squeaked in protest and batted her hand away. "Sorry I was curious..." She mumbled he stared at her inquisitively before taking his cap off and pulling his hood up. "So I was right...Do you have a name?" she asked crossing her arms the fae man looked at her like 'well obviously.' Y/n cocked a brown at him.
"Are you going tell me or do I have to wait for a another carriage to run me down?"  She sassed causing the little man to whistle impressed by her cheekiness before looking around for something to write with, confusing Y/n; before realizing what he was doing and opened a chest under her bed and pulled out a small black make-up box* setting it down next to him, surprising the hazel eyed fae who looked her up and down curiously. before Y/nat woman found her old slate-board* and the smallest piece of chalk and gave it to him. [J-A-C-O-B  F-R-Y-E] he wrote down and looked up at her.
"Jacob Frye...Jacob Fry- where have I heard that name?"  She muttered then heard tapping and saw mini-Frye writing something else down.
[Are you a girl?}
"O-of course I'm girl, what else would I be?!"
[No chest...No dress.. why?}
'You do realize where we are right?" He tilted his head obviously not,Y/n pinched her brow in frustration. "Whitechapel? A lone woman walking by herself especially at night, that be like a mouse walking into a house full of hungry cats!" He looked upset now and wrote something along the lines if anyone had tried grabbing her, she shook her head luckily she's just as good an actress as her mother was, people just think she's silent male. the she looked at the [no chest] again and blushed before unbuttoning her shirt causing Jacob to become flustered and squeaked in and flail his hands in protest!
but she didn't stop and opened her shirt to show him the leather wrap she had around her chest keeping her breasts flat when she's at work, he blinked and stared at it curiously and yelped when she undid the pins loosing it so she could breathe and well her chest kind of expanded to y/chest size before looking at him. "does that answer your question?" before disappearing to a small closet and coming out with her yhl/hc down and just wearing a men's white button up shirt. and got into bed Jacob had zipped lined over to her before settling next to her to sleep, while Y/n stayed up a few minutes wondering how the real Jacob was putting up with this.
[1800's make up was usually associated with The Upper class, Actors or prostitutes, the readers mother was actress so make-up was common thing in her house.}
{A slate was like a mini-chalkboard that often used in schools for writing practice.}
{Excluding her boss everyone at the glass-smith thinks the reader a boy]

Stay
Autumn breathed in deep. The cold air that filled his lungs soothed what lingering heat remained trapped in his chest. He always ran hot after a job, blood thrumming through his veins like the beat of a hummingbird's wings. Here, atop the roof of an abandoned warehouse, he could see both the city sprawling to his left and the icy ocean to his right. Salty spray made his skin feel a little raw but he enjoyed the sting.
"You've never stayed this close before."
Autumn chuckled. He knew that voice well now.
"I'm feeling daring I guess," He retorted, rolling his shoulders casually. "You gonna cuff me, detective?"
"Not today," Pierce grunted as he walked the precarious iron beams. "I'm technically off the clock on this one."
"Ah. Damn shame. I was feeling a bit charitable. Barely woulda put up a fight."
Pierce snickered, his laughter dying down when he took in the mercenary's appearance. There were dark bags under his eyes and his skin was ghostly white. Pierce edged closer, eyes owlish.
"Hey, uh, is that blood on your shirt?" He tried to sound calm.
"Yeah, but surprisingly, it's not someone else's" Autumn looked down at his own chest, tugging on his tank top. "Been havin' uhh a rough day as it were."
"Do you... Need a doctor or...?"
Autumn let out a sharp barking laugh, blood-tinged spittle flying off his lips.
"What, so you can cuff me mid-appointment? Polite pass."
His face screwed up rather unattractively. He bent down, hawking up a foul mouthful of bloody phlegm. Pierce cringed.
"I've got a thing," Autumn swiped the nastiness off his chin with the back of his hand. "So it's fine."
"A thing?" Pierce echoed. "I'm pretty sure that's called 'internal bleeding', ya fucking psychopath. Maybe you should see a professional."
"Nooo, no, no, I've got, y'know. A thing!"
When Pierce refused to back off, Autumn let out a frustrated noise. He chewed down on his lower lip, dropping his head as he thought long and hard. This weird little cat-and-mouse chase had been going on for a couple years now. It'd been a bit longer since he'd seen... Her as well. He was feeling strangely trusting. Plus, Pierce just had an oddness about him. He was easy to talk to, terrifyingly so. Maybe, just maybe, it was time to trust someone again.
"... Let me show you." Autumn finally spoke, peering up behind his waterfall of golden hair.
"Show me...?" Pierce raised his brows.
"My thing."
Autumn held out his hand, flexing his fingers like an invitation. To his shock, Pierce only hesitated for a few moments before taking it. Autumn's eyes rolled back, the world dropped away completely, and everything went black.
---
It was dark. Unsettlingly dark. Unnaturally dark.
Pierce looked down at his hands. He looked ghostly. Ethereal. Inhuman. Was he floating up? Or down? It was hard to tell with no floor, no ceiling, no walls, just nothingness. He flipped and turned and spun for seconds and minutes and hours and days. Finally, his feet found the ground.
Waiting for him was a small child. He had big grey eyes and a heavy smattering of freckles across his face. In his hands was a cat, it's neck snapped. He looked proud, like he was showing off a project. Pierce opened his mouth to speak and the world went upside down again.
When he regained his footing, he was beside a teenager. The boy's body language was absolutely terrifying. He was trembling, his eyes unblinking, a permanently wicked grin stretched across his face. There was blood on his hoodie. Pierce had a feeling it wasn't his own.
This time, when the floor dropped, he was ready. He flashed past images of a woman he'd never seen before. Her smile looked fake and her gaze was cold and unfeeling. Pierce watched as her flirtatious advances turned to ice. Kisses turned to screaming, hugs into stinging open-handed slaps. While there was no sound, Pierce felt a sharpness in his ears, like she was yelling directly at his face. Soon, though far longer than he liked, she faded away, too.
Now Pierce was walking, waking through the dark to the end of the path. Autumn was there. He smiled, waving him closer. A figure slipped out of his shadow, one with ankle-length hair that laid flat and hung heavily. It had three eyes, two that glowed like hot embers and one that shined like gold. The way it draped itself over Autumn wasn't sexual, it was possessive.
If you hurt him, it whispered in his ears, I'll eat you alive.
Autumn let the creature fawn over him, raking long clawed fingers through his hair, across his chest, along his arms, all the while never breaking eye contact with Pierce.
"This is my thing," Autumn's voice echoed. "Now you know."
---
Pierce came to, gasping for air. He grabbed at his chest, the weight having settled there finally lifted. He looked over to Autumn, terror stabbing its frozen fingers through his heart. He was vomiting blood, making all sorts of horrible sickly sounds. Pierce lunged forward, scooping him up in his arms.
"Fuck, you're heavy." Pierce groaned, trying to drape most of his body along his shoulders and back.
"I... Work out..." Autumn groaned. He was barely conscious.
When their heads knocked together, Pierce could hear that voice again. It was feminine and masculine, old and young, speaking in a whisper that still sounded crystal clear.
Save him.
"I dunno what the actual fuck you are, blondie," Pierce huffed, very carefully easing them both towards the roof's access ladder. "But I'm not gonna leave you here to die."
Autumn exhaled what felt like a sigh of relief before going completely unconscious. Pierce staggered but kept his pace. He'd get him somewhere safe and no one, of Earth, Heaven, or Hell, would stop him.
---
Autumn woke up in a bed. A nice one, too, nicer than what he had back home. Well, home was a relative term, he lived in the office of an abandoned factory at the very edge of town, comfort and luxury wasn't something he currently had access to.
He looked around the room, instantly wide awake. A dark wooden desk sat against the wall, covered in a variety of paperwork alongside a rather old looking computer. One whole side of the room was lined with tall metal filing cabinets. There was a small dresser at the foot of the bed, a rather generic looking painting of the countryside hanging above him, and a single slightly worn armchair. Pierce was fast asleep sitting up, arms crossed over his chest. He was dressed down to his button up shirt, the top two buttons undone, and his slacks were swapped out for flannel bottoms. Autumn was mostly confused by his clothing choice but he wasn't here to judge.
Right. Here.
He saved us.
"Yeah, I put that together," Autumn groaned, slowly easing himself upright. He felt like absolute shit. "Where are we?"
His home. His office.
"And where is that?"
... Not sure.
Autumn let out a frustrated sigh. He whipped back the duvet and held his breath. Oh. He was in someone else's shirt and his own briefs. Alright. He tried not to think too hard about the benevolent detective patiently stripping him down, cleaning away all the blood, and tucking him into bed. That definitely wouldn't follow his subconscious for a good while.
He eased himself out of bed, creeping around the room to the window. They were in the heart of the city, far away from the docks and no where near Autumn's own housing situation.
Why are we trying to leave?
"What do you mean--" Autumn pressed his fingers against his temples, squeezing his eyes shut. "I need to get home, dumbass. You're so clingy and willing to trust for a fucking demon--"
He could've turned us in. We were unconscious and vulnerable. But he took us home and took care of us.
"Yeah but--"
We like him. We've always liked him, ever since we saw him. This is our chance. This is the time to stay.
"But what about--"
This isn't her. This is him. This is Pierce. We can stay this time.
"And what if it goes to shit, huh?" It took everything in Autumn not to scream. "What if we get hurt again?"
He looked over to the sleeping detective. Pierce looked so peaceful, long eyelashes fanned out across his cheeks, lips parted slightly as he breathed. Autumn's heart clenched. Fuck. Fuck, fuck, fuck.
If he hurts us...
Autumn shuddered as images of gore flashed behind his eyes.
We'll kill him.
"... Okay. Okay, fine. We'll... I'll trust him. This one time."
Autumn rolled his eyes as waves of warmth echoed through his chest. He snuck back into bed, pulling the covers up to his neck. Just as he got comfortable, Pierce woke up, snuffling and stretching in his armchair.
"Oh, blondie, you're awake," He groaned, popping his shoulders. "How do you feel?"
"I'm... Alive, thank you," Autumn chewed on his inner cheek. God, how could someone's eyes be so damn blue? "You... Didn't have to--"
"Don't even start," Pierce smiled. His body language was so relaxed. "After what you showed me... I couldn't just leave you there. I'm starting to understand you're not just some maniac, you've got a lotta baggage and that makes things a lot more complicated. But... I'm willing to learn and listen. For now."
Pierce grinned and offered the mercenary a cheeky wink.
"Until you give me an actually good reason to slap some cuffs on you."
Autumn squeaked, covering up the sound with a wet cough.
"Do you uh," Pierce rose from his seat, rubbing his hands together awkwardly. "Wanna stay for dinner?"
"... Depends on what that is."
"Beef stew? And some crusty bread?"
Autumn raised his eyebrows, tipping his head forward.
"... Possibly some whiskey."
"Alright, sold." Autumn grinned.
"Fantastic," Pierce looked rather proud as he headed for the door. Sure enough, the heady waft of beef stock and root vegetables floated through the air as soon as he opened it. "Stay right there, I'll bring you back a bowl."
With that, he was gone and, much to Autumn's surprise, he did in fact stay.

count: 2,027 tw: an unbearable amount of softness, kittens part 1 | part 3
under a cut for length!
snapdragons & sunflowers @pohocounty
“Jeepers Creepers, where'd you get those peepers? Jeepers Creepers, where'd you get those eyeesss?” Charley sang softly to himself as he carefully dug up snapdragons to replant elsewhere, the one flower Dulu had brought him (almost looked like it was growing out of that huge hand, perched in a warm ball of dirt) was now a multitude, drinking up the warm summer sun. Nearby the coral honeysuckle was making it's ponderous way up the trellis on the side of the house – still unpainted - being visited by hummingbirds and butterflies alike, and farther out in the yard mammoth sunflowers tracked the movement of the sun. A mob of guinea fowl burst from the green stalks, heads swiveling this way and that as they chattered and complained at each other, hurrying across the green to some new destination.
Charley carefully shook a seedpod of one of the snapdragons and gently pinched it off when it sounded the appropriate rattle, tucking it away in a little cheesecloth bag to be put away for the next year's planting. Dulu had been whistling the tune he was now singing this morning, getting it promptly stuck in his head. Charley could've sworn the man did it on purpose, but the only answer he had ever gotten on the topic was a chuffed little laugh and one of those cheeky half grins that Charley couldn't quite decipher. There was an offended bout of clucking as the guineas upset a few of the chickens ranging more calmly about, scattering fat hens this way and that as the simpler minded fowl ran at them full tilt, not seeming to have much of a care if they moved or not. Up on the back porch Dulu let out a low, hearty little chuckle, though if it was because of the birds or the kittens Charley could not tell. The sound made him smile.
The old man was settled back in his rocking chair, a great big thing made of heavy old oak, making Charley's seem like something made for a child. Scampering about on the porch were no less than a dozen kittens, a mixed family of a riot of colors. They were five weeks old now and their heads were full of nothing but nonsense, chasing each other around on the worn wood planks, batting the little toys Dulu and Charley had made for them, play fighting, climbing Dulu's tree-trunk legs and leaping off to pounce on their siblings. Charley doubted Dulu was getting much work done, he had been carving something when Charley set off with his arms full of gardening tools. There were simply far too many kittens in need of being picked up and kissed. The kittens were particularly fond of that long white mane, a source of fascination that needed to be batted at until they spazzed out and tumbled off his shoulders and into those large, soft hands.
Ratta-tat-tat. Dulu's clawed toes on the porch planks, drumming softly and followed by the low thunder of many kitten paws as they all raced to pounce on. Charley grins, shaking his head as he sets another ousted snapdragon into one of the green plastic pots, picking up the tray they all sat in and carrying it to another spot a little farther down in the bed, returning briefly for his spade to dig in the rich soil. He peeked up before getting around to his replanting – there was a kitten firmly stuck to the screen and Dulu was indeed kissing another's little head again, dwarfing it as it purred in his hands. Dulu had helped him replace the old tattered screens back here with a tougher material meant to withstand things like kitten claws (or puppy nails) so the youngsters could scale them at will without worry that they would take a flying leap and simply keep going straight into the yard.
Charley kneeled down to get back to his planting, another one of their feline charges wandering over to butt his head against Charley's hip and melt into a puddle on the ground, purring like a misfiring engine. The old tom sported one eye and three legs, black fur spotted with white scars from countless battles. He had been barely alive when they found him on the side of the road and was still mean as hell. Dulu had been the only one capable of handling 'Slaughter', the only one the cat allowed himself to be handled by. When he came home after his emergency surgery, it was for Dulu that he would eat and drink for. Even weak and bandaged and hurting, Dulu could handle him without concern, the tom had responded to any sort of human touch with teeth and claws and a growl mean enough to make the hair stand up on the back of Charley's neck. Charley had allowed the cat his space, instead instructing Dulu in his care, passing supplies from a safe distance, teaching him how to give shots and coax the cat to take his medications. Even neutered (Charley insisted all their charges have this done, too many babies in the world needed their help) Slaughter relented in his mistrust of mankind exactly not at all.
Slaughter preferred the outdoors to the indoors, bolting out like his tail was on fire the moment he was released from the nursery. He since resided in the barn, lounging among bales of hay, his yellow eyes luminous in the shadows. Charley had sent Dulu out many times after that, fretting about the three legged boy, worried that he would hurt himself out there. Dulu had dutifully checked and returned to assure him that the cat was perfectly fine.
It was months before Slaughter approached Charley, and months more before he finally seemed to relax enough for the occasional petting - not too much, just a little every now and then. Now Charley smiled at the fat old tom, pulling off a glove to give him a gently rub behind the ears before continuing his work. “You've been in the catnip again, hm?” Talking to the kitty as he made a hole in the earth and nestled a snapdragon into it. A bumblebee, only marginally less hefty than Slaughter, bumped into his shoulder before trundling on to sample from the orchids. Charley had planted a 'cat garden' near the barn for their outdoor preferring guests, schlepping Dulu along with him to chat his ear off about the plants as they settled them in. There was the beloved catnip, and cat thyme. There was also licorice root and mint and lemongrass, some of it potted and some of it rooted into the fertile earth, growing among the tiers of cat-towers and hammocks. Slaughter didn't reply, of course, only blinked those bright yellow eyes at him and purred as he puddled there in the sun while Charley gardened. The cat wandered off again before he was finished, still regal despite the loss of his front leg, the bone had been too badly shattered to save. Dulu had been certain to find precisely the car that had hit him and ensured that occupants would never hit another cat and leave it to die ever again.
When Charley stripped off his gardening gloves and carried the tray of supplies, smelling of rich earth and sunlight, up to the porch most of the kittens were asleep, piled around Dulu's big feet, in his lap, draped over broad shoulders. Dulu was back at work again, carving a tiny toy, his wide-brimmed hat settled down over his eyes, humming softly to himself in a sound reminiscent of a mother cat's purr. A few still batted at each other, but the actions were sleepy, lazy and calm. Charley was careful not to let the screened door slam behind him, shutting it gently as he tucked the gardening tools on a shelf just high enough to keep little kittens off, just low enough for him to reach. He checked carefully around his owner rocker for kitty tails and kitty paws, scooping a few off the seat to set in his sun-warmed lap.
The farm was peaceful, even in the jabber of noise that came from overly cautious guineas, the thoughtful clucking of chickens, the low call of the goats to one another, the soft hush of wind rustling the sunflowers and corn. The crows were always happy to have a buffet of yellow cobs they wouldn't be chased away from, selecting morsels as it ripened under the sun, taking dust baths in-between the rows. It wasn't always like this, there was still ripples in the green from the truck tires of trespassers, rough men with their harpoon guns, but mostly it was. Charley picks up the glass of tea he had left on sweating on the little side table sips at it, still ice cold, just a little hint of honey and mint. Growing up the sweetest thing he ever had was orange juice, southern sweet tea was like getting hit over the head with a five gallon bucket of sugar. Dulu, thankfully, seemed to have no capacity to taste sugar, and thus did not complain about what would be undoubtedly under sweetened for anyone else.
In Dulu's big hands was one of those little mice, it's shape coming out of a block of ivory. Mammoth ivory, Charley had found it on the internet Dulu didn't quite understand (the man was mechanically inclined, not so much electronically). An ivory body and head and legs, with ears made of soft leather, a tail of long braided string. Later Dulu would cover the ivory with thick felt, brown or grey or white – the sweet old man had took one of the books that Charley kept to order supplies out of, to make blankets and hammocks and clothes, pointed out what it was he had wanted. Automatons, was all Charley could think to call them, because the toys that Dulu made for their feline family ran and scampered like real mice, running too and fro, pausing to nibble at invisible cheese before hurrying on again. The first time one had come racing between his feet Charley had squealed, jumped up on a chair like a Victorian lady clutching at her skirts. It took a full minute (and Dulu's deep, booming belly laughs) to realize it wasn't a real mouse at all, but something for the kittens to pursue. And pursue them they did, honing natural instincts to chase and pounce. The last one Dulu had made actually chittered and squeaked, how Charley couldn't quite figure out, but the kittens about lost their minds over it, playing until they couldn't play any longer and collapsed in sleepy piles.
Charley set his chair at a slow rock, petting over soft baby fur, rubbing behind tiny upright ears, setting his tea aside and tipping back the hat Dulu had made for him – a replica of the wide-brimmed one the big man himself was wearing, just a whole lot smaller. Out in the pasture Speedy and Peaches were grooming each other, two old girls happy to have each other, basking out there in a sea of green. A couple of crows were perched on Peaches' rump, chatting at each other. The old goats didn't move real fast, they sometimes made fine sun-soaked meeting places for the big black birds to discuss the news of the day with one another.
“It's perfect out here, isn't it?” Charley's voice is soft, as not to wake the sleeping kittens. “There's a whole lot of problems out there in the world but here it's just perfect.” Dulu's low rumble-grunt reply, he didn't talk much but that was fine, Charley didn't mind it any; he smiled, reached over and patted one of those tree-limb forearms. Surrounded by kittens, a yard full of fat critters and plants. A best friend, a life partner at his side, Dulu who brought him out of his shell. Dulu who made him feel safe, who gave him the confidence to take on damn near anything that life decided to throw his way. “The perfect place to just be.”

Lost and found
It was a flash. In a flash she had left her support system and got into the car with a bunch of strangers. Every warning siren in her brain was screaming as she she buckled the seatbelt in the passenger seat. She checked her bag for her emergency phone. And the paranoia was setting in as she tried to control her breaths in the least awkward and obvious was possible. She felt a tap on her shoulder, “3 blue sheep” she heard phinn ask. The second thing he had ever said to her. “3 brown sheep” “3 grown sheep” “3 gowned sheep” she responded. She wasn't sure how he also knew the exercise. It was really dumb her old therapist came up with it. It was meant to distract you when you got overwhelmed. Victoria didn't seen much real proof behind it and it was obviously made up on the spot. But the familiar words were comforting she turned around and smiled to him, he gave a small smile, not a true smile. And nodded. Maybe he was just quiet. Couldn't blame him, she couldn't imagine what It would be like to lose a sibling let alone a twin…. She had though. She had lost a twin. She lost him in her mind. She felt a twinge a guilt for letting herself forget them. And this was the least she could do They pulled up on a house, it looked familiar not in the sense that she had been there before ever in her life, but it was across the street from Carmen's house, she found it funny just how close she was to them, and just missed it. But maybe that was there fault. Or maybe it was hard to see the resemblance with black hair… of course phinn had black hair to. And Caroline had brown hair… but still. “Here we are 177 maple drive” Phillip said pulling the car into the driveway. Victoria had always found suburban house strange. They were big mostly. So many rooms just for one family. But as she looked at how big this family was it didn't seem all that strange. These homes were made for big families clearly. The house was white with a soft blue trim, it felt odd, the colors didn't match the family but maybe they didn't care. The whole family loaded out of the car with grace and she was a slow kinda crawl. She was glad she sent her flowers with Samantha, made that easier. They all kicked off their shoes and obviously made a effort to place them in the proper cubby, she understood her family had a shoot cubby to. She followed there lead and James placed a hand on her shoulder with a cheeky grin. “Well Victoria, we weren't going to eat till around 7” Phillip said, not sure what to make of himself. His long lost daughter was back, she had set foot in his house, and yet she was still a total stranger. “It's about 4 now… why don't you kids give her the tour?” “Sure” Carolina said. Victoria felt a stiffness in the house and the family. It was clear how distant they were. It was strange to see coming from a very close family and into a distant one. But clearly they still got along, hopefully “Should we start with… the living room?” James said hand on her back. “Sure” Victoria said as he swept the room with his other hand like it a was a grand palace and not a tv room. It had a big comfy couch and a tc and a nice table with books that her sister called ‘dressed to impressed books’ but she couldn't help but get the feeling that one of them was actually reading it for the joy of reading it. Perhaps they could have that in common. “This is are lovely family room where we get to together and watch disney movies. I will tell you right now phinns favorite movie is not wallie, you would thinks its wallie because the kid loves robots SO MUCH, victoria listen he loves robots. However his favorite disney movie is little mermaid, and no it's not because had had red hair, or so i've been told he had red hair once upon a time, it's because of the fish. Flounder he really relates” “Flounders one of my favorites too” “See phinn look you two have at the very least to things in common” james said seeming to grow in height as he looked at the boy with a grin. the boy weakly smiled back “wow that is the warmest smile i have ever seen from him. Look victoria you're cracking through his cold dark hearts” “F+++ off” victoria help but gasp at the swear word. Samantha never said much more then hell, it was the one thing there father was very strictly against, the swears. “Swear jar” she squeaked “Ooo that's a good idea” caroline said “phinn were getting you a swear jar maybe that will teach you to cut back on the swearing!” phinn turned red and shrunk in on himself “I didn't mean to… call you out” she muttered “Moving on to the kitchen” james said turning her around before much more could be said. “And through the kitchen we find the garage door, dad are we allowed to show her the lab?” “Just don't touch anything if you're not sure what it does” “You might want to tie your hair back” caroline said sitting down on a stool “i never trust what's in there” victoria nodded, her dad also had a lab that she hung around in often, and she just understood lab safety overall. She pulled a hair tie of her wrist (she always had one) and pulled her hair into a skward ponie as james opened the door like a grand ball room. It was a garage. But it had counters with bubbles and a work bench and anything she could dream up in a small garage lab. “It's amazing: she muttered stepping in and phinn perked up a bit “Its technically dads but he lets me use it… i tend to use it more than he does” phinn muttered walking in, “Can i see what youve working on?” “... it's a robot” phinn said finally looking her in the eyes for the first time since they met “James wasn't lying, you do really like a robots” “I do” “I have a plan for some micro bots… maybe we could build them as like a duo” “Yeah! That would be fun” phinn smiled. “I can't wait to see what you've been working on too” “It's… a flying broom… well it's a hovering broom techianly” “Does it work?” “Of course it works!” “That's the flynn in ya” phillip said leaning into the door frame “Please dad if that were true i think i would be smarter” caroline muttered “There's different kinds of smart” victoria said “maybe you're more artistically inclined” “Candi plays 12 different kinds of instruments and has painting in museums” james said “See!” victoria said “that's amazing!’ and caroline smiled “You are wise beyond your years too torie” james whispered “Moving on to the up stairs!” They started with james room, it was simple room and clean too. A desk a twin bed. About the size of victoria's room only he didn't have to share it so it seemed bigger than it probably actually was. He had some pictures all from italy. Victoria had lived there for 2 years and recognized it instantly “Italy” “Yes, that's where i'm from originally” “oh Ho vissuto in Italia per un po 'troppo” “Oh veramente! non c'è da meravigliarsi andiamo d'accordo” “No wonder indeed” victoria smiled “it's a kinship” “You lived in italy?” phinn asked “Yes, my father sometimes goes to other countries for his job. Italy was the most recent and the longest we stayed somewhere. 2 years. Previously it was japan for a year and half.” “That's really cool” james said “you're like a carrier exchange student” “It feels like it sometimes.” “Well we can discuss all about italy in the future because we will be talking about it i have notes. Meanwhile, the tour must continue. If you will fallow me right this way miss to phinns room. Witch i hope is clean for a change” “It is… i cleaned it” the two older sibling of sorts seemed shocked by this. Turning around at him “Oh” caroline said smiling “that's good to hear” “Yeah! I'm impressed” “You don't have to make such a big deal about it. I clean it from time to time” they nodded and james opened the next door across the hall from him. Phinns room was a little bit bigger, it looked like maybe once it was supposed to be shared considering the two windows. Phinns bed was tucked away in the corner and had big tall posts and a couch loft thing on top… the were bunk beds once weren't they. He had a messy desk across from the bed, it had a picture on it but she couldn't see what it was. It was covered in notebooks and textbooks and pens and clue prints. “You've been working hard” “Oh yeah.” he said looking sheepishly at his desk “i forgot to clean that” “It's alright, a messy desk is a busy mind. That's what my dad ses” “Wise words” caroline nodded “but i would say messy mind” “Maybe so” victoria said “messy, busy. At some points they mean the same thing” Next they went to caroline's room. Her room was cream but it had pink and purple everywhere. As the eldest she had the nicest room for sure. A slightly bigger bed, with a fluffy comforter. Posters of different bands. She had a music stand and easel in the corner and a vanity. “It's so pretty” “Thanks you, i'm quite fond of it myself” she smiled and closed the door. “Well that's the tour… i don't know what we should do know” “We could play a game” victoria said! “No better way to bond then a good ol fashioned board game” “No i think that's how you drive families apart” phinn said “Those you survive hardships together are the closest of all” “i agree with tori” james said “No i'm with phinn on this one. However on the other hand mouse traps is my hidden talent so… i'm on team play a game” “Thats cold” phinn said “Not as cold as you” “Wow” james said “that was a low hit” phinn cracked a smile at this but victoria wasn't sure why “Fine, but i get to choose the game” They ended up playing mouse traps. Turns out caroline is studying law.
